AT PERCEIVING, LATCH UNTO HIM - I Perceive Series 006

Genesis 18:1, KJV

"And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day."

I said yesterday that God is not partial. He gave Himself to all men (John 3:16) and He's still giving Himself to them as a fullness that meet their needs (John 1:16). However, He draws near to men even when He's too ruddy to be believed so.

The testimony concerning David is that he's ruddy and of a fine appearance. So, they didn't esteem him as a warrior.

I Samuel 17:42, KJV

"And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance."

However, God used him and they were all proven wrong when He did.

God will appear to all men at one time or the other. He won't leave you forlorn. Only that you must perceive and recognize. We saw this in Abraham yesterday. Three men almost bypassed him but he went to turn them to his place.

My emphasis is on the heart and knowing of Abraham. Abraham has a witness that these aren't ordinary men. He therefore persuaded them until they were ashamed to turn unto him.

Genesis 18:2-3, KJV

"2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground, 3 And said, My LORD, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:"

The Bible says, "he ran to meet this opportunity". He even bowed down to them and honoured them saying, "my Lord". Abraham saw something. Though he is at the tent door trying to cool off but he refuses to be encumbered. He sees some three men. He sees the Lord and he gives him water when He needed it, meat when He needed it and even shelter when He was weary.

This way, Abraham mustn't go empty handed. He must be blessed in return. Abraham who have eyes for such a thing must have his need met also. What follows after refreshing this trio is a call for Sarah.

Genesis 18:9-10, KJV

"9 And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent.10 And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him."

You know the end of the story. Today, your heart for the things of God will pay. I'm seeing a woman there who has spent herself on God and His things yet is still in hope of a child. It'll be unto you as it is unto Abraham here. I'm also hearing this. "Some of you will reap the reward and sowing of someone who has exercised himself or herself for God". It was Abraham who called these men in but Sarah is the one they called for after they had eaten Abraham's food. You're about to reap the seed already sown by your parents, siblings and even pastor. A demand will go on in the spirit over you. Today, they'll ask for you. They'll call you to come. Sarah was called for though she was not present with the trio. She reaped the labour of Abraham's perception. Today, you will. Be blessed!

PRAYER: I am called in. I am called to come. My time has come. It's harvest.

HE APPEARS UNTO ALL MEN SOMEWHERE AND AT A TIME - I Perceive Series 005

Genesis 18:1, KJV

"1 And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day."

There's no one that the Lord has depraved of His visitation. He appears to all men. Only that you may not have acknowledged Him so when He came. However, God who has been generous to the Jews has also been generous to the Gentiles. He has given His son, Jesus Christ to all as the very and only means by which any man on Earth could be saved (John 3:16). So, none of us should say, "He has not appeared." He died for your sins already. He bought you redemption already (Isa. 53). However, it's left for you to receive this claim and this work. In John 4, Jesus appeared to a woman of Samaria. Though she couldn't recognize Jesus as her expected Messiah yet Jesus revealed Himself to her saying, "I that speak to you am He" (John 4:26). Apart from salvation brought by Jesus however, He has not ceased to appear unto us.

Divinity's appearance never ceases. Appearance of God continues till date. What appearance of God to humanity do I speak about today? It's His appearance to each of us as opportunities to take. The Bible says, "and the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre..." He has not left Abraham without a witness. Here's is His witness to Abraham. Here's the presentation of Himself to Abraham. Here's the arrival of Himself at Abraham's door but the big question is, "what would Abraham do with this arrival?" Before that question, we might even need to ask if Abraham would see He who has arrived and acknowledge Him. Will Abraham be able to read and perceive that this august visitor at the distance isn't ordinary but divinity appearing in human comeliness? When the Lord came, Abraham was not oblivion of it. He was not inside but at the tent's door trying to cool off. He was where he could see passers-by and he saw this trio that day. Thank God for his good disposition towards strangers. Thank God for his caring and generous heart. Verses 2-5 narrates how Abraham springs up to meet them, persuading them to turn in unto him to be refreshed.

As we shall see in days to come, we'll see how seeing, recognizing and perceiving divinity for who they are even in man's comeliness came to be for Abraham's blessing. God is set to meet your needs. However, He sometimes coach Himself in simplicity and see if you'll give Him recognition. He doesn't come hollering Himself at times. When Jesus was born also, where He was birthed didn't give Him away as a great King or Messiah (Lk. 2:7). However, He is. Only some were granted His revelation and came on pilgrimage (Matt.2:1-2). Great things still happen on ordinary days. No need of carrying a megaphone. Many people are still receiving and testifying but they saw and acknowledged first of all. Where they sat at their tent doors, they didn't act non-challant and so were rewarded for same.

May you have this Abrahamic heart that sees from afar and somehow knows the end. When your blessing appears to you at your tent door, may it not pass on without your drawing it in.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to be strategically located and placed to sight and draw in  opportunities that will make up for what I've missed this year.

MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE - Olusola ADEJUMO

THEY'RE ASKING, "ARE YOU THE ONE TO COME OR WE SHOULD EXPECT ANOTHER?"

Luke 7:18-19, KJV

"18 And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.19 And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?"

One might ask, "why would a fellow in John - as the one who identified and revealed Jesus to all be same who'll send such a message as we read above to Jesus?" If not for offence, he wouldn't stop believing in Jesus and seeing Him from the very light he had seen Him from the beginning. At the beginning, even his disciples left his ministry for Jesus' and he was not offended (John 1:36-37). He revealed Jesus as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the whole world. Doing this didn't offend him though he was losing men. He said in John 3:29-30 that, "29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. 30 He must increase, but I must decrease." Where then could this wrong perception and view of Jesus by John have come from when he himself proved that Jesus is God's sent Messiah to the earth. Even at His baptism when he John would have successfully convinced Jesus to baptize Him, Jesus had refuted and persuaded him on it been done as it fits all righteousness. Jesus has never been wanting before in his sight. The Son of God has never strayed off purpose but has always maintained His course. So, is it lately that Jesus has missed purpose and is no longer Who to expect?

John's view has been changed by imprisonment. He expects deliverance and he didn't see one. This is his revenge. This is his fury and explosion at Jesus. In essence, John was saying, "if you have power, get me out of here. Couldn't you see I'm stuck here". I need help now. He was saying, "if you're the Messiah, save me now!"

However, all these requests came out of huge offence. His own ministry has been stopped and hindered being in jail but Jesus' still continues. Hearing the report of Jesus' great miracles from his disciples, he sent word to Jesus if he were the One to come or they should expect another. He was indeed expecting that Jesus would know where to channel His power - for the saving of the messenger that announced Him.

John became a failure and a disgrace! His reward and feedback didn't delay at all. Jesus having done many miracles at that hour directed the gazes and observation of those he sent to those acts and asked them to observe and go to report all they had seen and heard to John.

Then, Jesus added one more thing, "blessed is he who's not offended at me". How did Jesus know he was in offence? Because John was expecting something to be done yet nothing had happened. People get offended when their expectations are not met or when it tarries and they're disappointed at such delay. Jesus knew he sent that errand because he was stuck and he hoped He would come to his aid. However, offence shouldn't propel us to demean our salvation and even reject it. John demeaned and rejected his own Salvation. He was in essence saying, "if you won't do anything, I might as well look unto another or another place". However, Jesus is not Esther that a Mordecai would tell, "if you look away, enlargement will arise for the Jews from another quarters" (Esther 4:14). This Jesus is the salvation - the final solution and answer and help of all men. Any who's offended at Him might die in his or her sin - never coming out of imprisonment of hell alive like John. Any who rejects His help and seeks to expect another might not find any at all. May I ask, have you found Him as your help and salvation or you're still looking for another one? I assure you, it'll never come.

Let me encourage you not to lose faith, doubt or become offended that your expectations till hitherto have not been met. He sees it all and He hears it all and He'll do it all. Just don't reproach Him and look unto another. Don't be offended at God or any you're expecting money, encouragement, sympathy, companionship etc from but who seems not to be looking in your direction now. Getting offended in them will make you vulnerable - shifting you away from expectation and the place of faith. This way, you'll receive nothing but wither in your offence and doubt. Rather, keep trusting and seeing Jesus as He who is to do it and not another god or goddess. Don't shift your position of faith. It's of great reward before heaven.

PRAYER: Give me a heart release from offence. I purge myself of self justification over others.

WHEN YOUR HONOUR IS NOT GIVEN TO YOU - I Perceive Series 003

John 4:25-26, KJV

"25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. 26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he."

The concern of God this morning is the degree to which we are humble and count ourselves as nobodies. We've been told not to exalt ourselves or boast ourselves more than the measure we are dealt. If you seek to exercise yourself beyond this your allotted mark, that might be pride ( Rom.12:3).

However, how humble are we? How humble you are is manifested when you're offended and you're right (with the other party being wrong). That's when we can see for once if you're really humble.

I'll like you at this time go back to John 4:5-26. Read from there. You'll see the conversation of Jesus with this Samaritan woman. This woman believes the Messiah comes who will tell them all things that they'll have to believe. At the time she said this, it was given as a response to Jesus' stance on doctrine which conflicts with what she believes on the supremacy of what constitutes worship. Jesus didn't emphasize physical building or locations but talks about sincerity and heart experience or contact with God - which off course could take place anywhere in the world. That can't wait until you get to one place designated as holy city. However, after Jesus gave His position and what you'll as well agree was utmostly right for practice, this woman refuses Jesus' stand by saying, "the Messiah comes who'll tell us all things".

If you were the one (since Jesus knew Himself as the Messiah who she was referring to come), how would you feel? You'll shake your head and wonder at how ignorant she is right? That's the temptation. The temptation of vindicating ourselves over others when they're wrong and proving it so to their faces.

This woman was expecting the Messiah yet the Messiah she expects is the very one standing in front of her for the whole time they had talked. Yet, she didn't discover, acknowledge or even praise His presence. Rather, she was riotous and full of debates as Jesus even tells her what is utmost to be done in worship of God.

But Jesus was not offended. He didn't say, "look at poor you!" He didn't leave the well after she had made Himself known as a revenge for having not been recognized and worshipped. He stayed until the city came and the woman and others could be established and prove Him further as the Messiah. He even lodged with them though it was humiliation for the created to have no recognition for his Creator. If you were that great, mighty, honourable, the owner of a large estate yet your workers wouldn't even recognize you as the boss, what would be your attitude? Would you pick offence and seek to prove your worth? Would you allow men to discover you or you'll speak into their faces? Would you wait for your timely revelation or seek to slap men with yourself? I pray, may we not be offended when we worth much but we're treated and esteemed little. Even if we feel disappointed, may we not become offended - eventually becoming bitter.

PRAYER: Lord, help me not to be sensed ruled. I practice the humility of Christ. I count myself nobody that you may exalt me.

BUT HERE IS HE; CLING TO HIM - I Perceive Series 002

John 4:25-26, KJV

"25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. 26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he."

May you not look for another when here is He. May your search end; may you cease expecting when He has come already. Like we studied yesterday, this Samaritan woman wouldn't believe Jesus wholly for His doctrine - especially as it concerns the place of worship and how to worship. Though Jesus had told her the real essence of worship, she's still of the opinion that Jesus does not have the finality because the Messiah comes.

John 4:25-26, KJV

"25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. 26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he."

Yet, the expected Messiah is Jesus who stands before her and speaks to her. May we not be blind to our prepared salvation and the finality that says, solves and cures it all. May we see and recognize. May we recognize and cling to it. As for this woman, the Messiah she has been expecting came and yet she was unaware that it was He that spoke and recommended to her what men should do. She was rather full of jangling - debating Jesus and pushing her believing into the future when the Messiah comes. When your salvation announces itself or himself as your salvation, you can doubt it or believe it. My own prayer is that you'll believe it by first recognizing it. Though this woman narrowly misses her expected Salvation and Messiah, yet the provision of 'He Who Comes' was revealed to her in mercy. Jesus tells her as a matter of fact, "I that speaks, I am He". That begins the end of all arguments but her believing. She eventually leaves her water pot and laments in awkward surprise.

John 4:28-29, KJV

"28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, 29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?"

For having told her all she ever did, she believed in Jesus as the probable Messiah. Why? It takes the Messiah - who they know will be divine and full of power and grace to have told her all about herself.

People of God, God is speaking to us. Are we the type that have ears but can't hear? Are we the type that see some strands of evidences and yet doubt? We'll beat ourselves like Thomas does if Jesus had to declare to us, "I am He Who has been speaking to you". You'll beat yourself for late believing and in recognizing Him.

John 20:26-29, KJV

"26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. 27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. 28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God. 29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed".

Thomas would never believe though he was told Jesus had appeared unto other disciples. His demand was unless he sees the marks of the nails and see his pierced side, he'll not believe. When Jesus finally appears to him - knowing all his heart intent and all that had afore transpired, Jesus came offering him his demands, asking him to deep his finger in the print on his palm and his hand on his side.

Believe it, Thomas was ashamed of himself. He poorly and weakly said, "my Lord and my God".  Jesus had to say, "blessed are those who have not seen yet believe". In other words, all those who does not believe because they have not seen are not blessed. May God give you sweet perception of the Messiah that stands before you when He (as the gospel) is preached to you. May you see the passing salvation and opportunity of being saved and by faith draw it in. May you perceive, sense and believe even when you have not seen or examine the existence of truth by the tangibilities that appears to the human senses. May you just simply resolve, "if He could tell me all the things I have ever done, He may be the Christ". That woman shouted, "come and see the man who ever told me all I ever did, is this not the Christ?" The answer as they all found out is that, "He is". May you not be passed by. May you not be faithless. May you not reproach Christ even as this year runs to an end. May you not be a mocker. May you be a believer - believing when others doubt, pressing on when others failed.

PRAYER: Lord, grant me the heart of the doer - a recognizing heart. A heart that even picks shadows of things to come when it is far away or near.

THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW THE MESSIAH IS HERE - I Perceive Series 001

John 4:25-26, KJV

"The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he."

If you follow the line of interaction between Jesus and this woman of Samaria, you'll see that the conversation encompasses water, the living water, the rightful place of worship etc. Until Jesus told her she has had five husbands before, she seems not to esteem Jesus at all. At that point however, she says, "sir, I perceive you're a prophet". This supernatural gift of Word of Knowledge helped Jesus penetrate this woman here and have her good attention. However, the consequent subject that leads to her being apprehended for God has to do with the rightful place of worship - in a physical place or in the spirit. It is this that was being debated. Jesus had said.

John 4:21-24, KJV

"21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."

To this, the woman responds by postponing her clarity and salvation to the future saying, "when the Messiah comes, He'll tell us all things".

John 4:25, KJV

"The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things."

Why would she say that? Because she didn't believe wholly in the person of Jesus. She has not yet seen Jesus as somebody to receive unquestionably from. So, when Jesus told her it was not the matter of worshipping the Father in Jerusalem or at a mountain nearby her, she responds to having the final say come from the Messiah - who they are all expecting.

You see, they were expecting the Messiah but these people were so dense that when the Messiah came, they didn't even know. Imagine a whole nation - group of people on tip toes for He who prophecies had predicted yet missed him at His very appearance. Their problem is still our problem. Why they missed Him is still why we're missing those God could use for us. That woman still didn't believe totally in Jesus though He told her her past life of sin and marital instability. She only accorded a little respect of being a prophet to Jesus but she never accepted Him as the Messiah - unto whom all obedience must be given. That's because she basically doesn't know it's the Messiah speaking to her as a matter of finality. What was she looking at? Appearance! The Messiah would look messianic. This man is too simple. He alone talking to me. No train of people to show His greatness. Nothing in the physical as she could have thought gave Jesus away. The only thing that began to do so was His exercise of the gift of word of knowledge by which she perceives that Jesus is a prophet.

Today, God is dealing with those of you with hearts and eyes for the future to come yet without knowing the times you've entered into is your expected future. In 2019, I was at Ilisan Remo, Ogun State for a Christian program. Pastor Chingtok Ishaku (a minstrel-preacher) was to come to minister from the North. However, before his arrival at all and without ever having listened to him once until I contacted him that evening when the conference opened, I began to speak to the brethren with which I went to this conference as I was impressed. I was heavily impressed and I knew to what intent that day. Some of the brethren who I pastor and who were also my colleague workers at the work place just did not give ears to me though they were hearing (because they were seated near me). It shows in their attitude I was not the one they were expecting that day. However, the surprise came later. At the arrival of the guest minister, he began his teaching which had no topic. To the shock of all the brethren who had heard me spoke in the evening, the exact things I had said to them from the Bible were the exact things this man of God began to say. It was totally the same. It was as if the man of God had heard me in the evening and was then quoting me. Just as he spoke that day, some of my brethren seated in front of me looked back and gave me, "thumb up". I immediately praised the Lord!

That day, I learnt two lessons - that you could be a prophetic vessel without knowing. Two, that minds of people are difficult to change when their expectation is set. However, God can change it. I knew all of them felt a great awe for God later. Some might have felt bad shoving me away or showing the attitude of, "Bro. Sola, let us alone".

What am I saying? This woman was expecting the Messiah yet the Messiah came, spoke with her and yet she wouldn't see or believe Jesus as the Messiah because she was expecting someone (in the name and manifestation of the Messiah who's already in front of her in flesh and blood). People miss God's plan because when He comes, their sight is elsewhere. No sensitivity, no humility of heart. In pride, they keep looking into the future for what is happening in the present already to still come around to them. If not that Jesus told this woman that, "I am the Messiah who speaks to you", she wouldn't have investigated it let alone eventually believe in it as others from the city would also prove it so.

Listen to me brethren, blessing passes before you daily but you must be full of perception to grab it. Or else, it'll flow passed you and go its own way like a flowing water. I pray for you that you'll have eyes and heart for all future expectations but which are happening now. May you open to He you should open to. May you not search for one Messiah, guru, salvation again when it is Jesus who saves. May you be sufficed and esteem Jesus as He only who saves. May nothing take you away to seek for another "way, truth and life". If you do, you'll find none. If you find any in any religion, they'll be false gods and practices. That's because Jesus Himself makes it clear that He's the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6). It means, there's no other Messiah. There's no name man is given to be saved except His name (Matt.1:21, Phil.2:9-11). Let your search of a Messiah be sufficed today. Welcome Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

PRAYER: Lord, let me perceive Your angel, ministers and any with messianic duties to me in their real light. My long expectation shall not elude me at arrival.

MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE - 01/11/2023

 FRIDAY - 1ST DECEMBER, 2023

Happy New Month!

MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE - Olusola ADEJUMO

AND THOU SHALL DELIVER THE CUP INTO HIS HAND LIKE THE FORMER

Genesis 40:13, KJV

"Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh's cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler."

Say, "God, reinstate me. From every departed position or perfect status, recover and restore me. Let this month be my month of reinstatement."

I picked that in the spirit. That should be our prayer so that we might attain perfect perfection wherever we have defected even before the year ends. The baker and the butler offend their lord, Pharaoh and he puts them in jail. Each has his dream according to its interpretation. The butler sees a ripe grape on three branches and sees himself pressing it into Pharaoh's cup and putting it in his hands. In interpreting it, Joseph says, "within three days, he shall be restored and shall put Pharaoh's cup in his hands like before".

This is reinstatement. He was almost gone. His fate could have been that of the baker but he was recovered and brought back to serve like before. The most touching piece in that verse is, "and thou shall restore Pharaoh's cup into his hands after the former manner when thou wast his butler".

May this be your portion and testimony. Whereever you've been taken away from what you used to resemble or what is your perfect design and status, may God take you back to the former. Today, what God is doing is a work of restoration so that you might be what you used to be. Oh, that's what's good. If you've fallen from favour, you'll miss that former favour and graciousness you were once availed. You'll regret having ever falling from grace because you'll miss the privileges of your former office, status or blessed life. It's even most painful when  someone has taken over your office. Irrespective of the case however, you can be reinstated to the former. You can be recovered. Naaman talks of being recovered.

II Kings 5:11, KJV

"But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper."

You can be recovered. When Naaman was eventually recovered, he was taken back to the state he had departed from. His skin was restored unto him like that of a new born baby (II Kings 5:14).

What you used to do, you'll do again. The cup the butler used to put in Pharaoh's hands, he once more puts into his hands. I cry over you, know restoration. Be reinstated. Be taken back. Have the testimony of before. Praise God like before. Produce sap like before. Be assured like before. Experience His presence like before. Know joy like before and let everything that once flowed for you flow again. So shall it be.

PRAYER: Lord, let me be reinstated to do and be what I used to be before. Thank you Lord.
