MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE - Olusola ADEJUMO

MANASSEH AND EPHRAIM

Genesis 48:8-9, KJV

"8 And Israel beheld Joseph's sons, and said, Who are these? 9 And Joseph said unto his father, They are my sons, whom God hath given me in this place. And he said, Bring them, I pray thee, unto me, and I will bless them".

As typical of aged people, Jacob asked (as if he was never privy of them), "who are these?" Joseph replied, "they are my sons whom God has given me in this place". "In this place' means "here in Egypt".

One landmark and unforgettable experience in Joseph's life is his travelling to a foreign land. It defined a lot about him and was even the heart of the fulfilment of his call (which he saw in dreams afore time). However, our deliberation is on how these two sons derived their names.

Genesis 41:50-52, KJV

"50 And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him. 51 And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house. 52 And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction".

He called the first, "Manasseh" and thereby attached the purpose of his calling to it. He said, "because God has made me forget my toil and all of my father's house". That is necessary! All of us know Joseph is Jacob's most beloved. Joseph knows what the father's love is and if there's ever one thing he misses while in servitude, it'll be his father's house, the comfort and shelter it has to give. Now, he's nothing but a slave. He's exposed to every form of inhumanity which makes him remember and reminisce in often flashbacks to the comfort with which his father comforted him. However, God who reigns supreme over all creations made him forget his father's house and whatsoever care it has had to offer. God compensated Joseph by the promotion and blessing of favour which culminates in his becoming a governor over the entire Egypt. A man who every knee bows to. On that note of having being comforted and greatly recompensed, he opens his mouth and calls forth his first born as "Manasseh". It means God has made me forget my father's house and all my servitude toils". Now is compensation and recompense time and I have been blessed and over blessed until I'm now swallowed up by blessing itself. May God supremely let the better swallow the bitter in your life. God is a payer. He's a restorer and He could pay you back according to the days you have wept or mourn. No loss in God. He'll so much recompense you that you'll forget all your toils and esteem less what used to give joy compared to what God would now give you.

The second name of Joseph's son is Ephraim and he as well attached a purpose to that. He said, "because God has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction". It's not everybody who survives the lands of their affliction. The Blacks all over the world survived their different lands of affliction either in Brazil, U.S.A or the Caribbean. They rose from having endured much diminishing to growing into great people who owns businesses and does their things. Yet, despite all the hindrances. The same could be said of the Jews worldwide. They're always thriving people irrespective of the soil you plant them into. So, Joseph in reminisce named his second born Ephraim because God has multiplied, increased and given him a bounty even in the land of affliction. What I quickly want you see is that the expression, "affliction' contradicts "fruitfulness". In affliction, fruitfulness is stunted or all together exterminated but there's a testimony that can follow you which is to multiply and give your increase even in affliction and when strictly curtailed. The Israelites did and that's the Christian's experience if interpreted. Even when you're pressed on all sides, you're destined to still bring forth your best and rarest of wine. See.

Exodus 1:12, KJV

"But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel".

Did you read, "the more they afflicted them; the more they multiplied". That's very oxymoronic! It so much contrasts itself. No one naturally grows under affliction. They're pressed, choked and left to die but these ones survived. Joseph did also. He not only survived but he was fruitful or floral with initiative, wisdom and nuggets for nation/economy building and even in the fruits of his body. It's in Egypt he acquired a family and got satisfied with every good thing any longing soul desires. So, he names his second born "Ephraim".

God will do two things for you this morning. He wants you to forget your toil and be comforted over having lost your greatest source of happiness. God does this by raising a better fountain for us. If you have lost something that should comfort you yet you have experienced much toil in this life, first you'll receive a restoration that's better, so much more that you'll forget your toil. Hear me, you can forget your toil. When people forget their toils, it is experiencial experienced in the fact that even though they've once been inside the furnace, the furnace will not in any way be smelt on them anymore. They'll be all cured and recovered from the power and harm of their hardships.

Secondly, God wants to make you a fruitful vine. Jacob identified Joseph as that when he says, "Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall" (Gen.49:22). Did you see that? Imagine a plant whose branches runs over the wall. He also identifies he has been grieved and worried by archers but sustained and made strong by God's mighty hand (23-24). All these are God's acts which you'll receive today. You'll forget that evil past because a good tomorrow shall supplant it! I see you spreading your tentacles - a great manifestation of florallness.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank you because you have made me forgotten my toil and my past. I see and receive a new future. I grow like a fruitful bough.

THE RISEN AND UPRIGHT SHEAF: A New Month Message

THE RISEN AND UPRIGHT SHEAF

Welcome to month risen and month upright. I am Olusola ADEJUMO M'Wings, your host on Morning Wings.

Brethren, it's my prayer that you will stand and then stand upright. When you stand, you will stand tall. You won't be bowed because everything that can bow you will be bowed for your sake. And if you've been bowed (forcefully put under by the machinations of the devil), I call you back to your rightful place in Jesus' name.

As we enter this new month, it's occuring to me to teach on your sheaf standing up and standing upright. What does the Bible say about someone's sheaf who's our envy for this teaching?

Genesis 37:7, KJV

"For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf".

The sheaf of Joseph did two things. It ROSE and then stood UPRIGHT. Others' however stood round his and worship it. It is clearly clear here that one shall serve the other; one shall be master and the other, the servant.

Now, let me quickly tell you that those sheaves are representations of those brothers and Joseph himself in the spirit. Your sheaf is your representation in the spirit. Just like every church founded by God has a candle stick before Him in heaven, so also all of us have representations before God. We'll take the sheaf as an example. Your sheaf is you. However, let's enquire, "what must happen to your sheaf?" It should only be that it rises and stands upright always.

If your sheaf has known uprightness and suddenly is bent; you may need to quickly seek troubleshooting and restoration. You've heard of people who were once successful and were the rave of the town but which something suddenly or by process of time subdues. He was once he that everybody calls and runs to. Now, it is he seeking every contact he could call. O my Jesus!

This world is full of envy and if you refuse to be strong, you'll surely be stamped out. Sheaves are contesting even in the work and political place for recognition and greatness. Evil machinations are being deployed to see that others are bent and bowed over. Competition may be so fierce that a fellow noticed for the spirit of excellence may want to be taken out for envy. The exact that they unleased against Joseph wondering what would later become of his dream. For this reason, you must seek power divine so that your sheaf will rise and stand upright always irrespective of the acts. Standing upright shows distinction. It is a mark of excellence and also headship. May you carry that headship today.

More importantly, the upright sheaf is a sign of visibility. A thing that stands is easily seen. Many people there be who are not visible to people (who should notice them) because their sheaves are lying on their sides. Imagine someone's sheaf being on the ground in the spirit instead of being risen and upright.

Ten people who sell or trade may be in a neighborhood and only one is notably visible to customers. It doesn't matter what others do. Even if they relocate upstairs, fix a big bill board for awareness or put in place customer relation ethics, yet customers may not be appealed to buy from them. I hope you know that there are those who engage the occult world for such result, so much more that they haul the customers of others to themselves. It's a function of the spirit (demonic) working with him or her. You can't wade it off by naturally working harder or making your shop more appealing. You have to counter and engage that spirit with God's power. That hold must be broken on you so that your sheaf that has been put to sleep, put under or on the ground would rise and stand upright. It's only then, mark me, only then you'll be visible.

It is because you haven't learnt spirit things that makes you solely believe that locating a venue at a junction, by the road side or in a place of concourse is what would make you have patronizers. You better quit this act! No! John the Baptist was in the wilderness yet all Jerusalem, Judea and environ around went out to him (Matt. 3:5). People were rushing to his ministry. Why? They were appealed by the Spirit. There's Spirit awareness and recommendation when it is God who first sets you up. Meanwhile, I won't debate with you if why you wanted siting at a place of concourse is to hold yourself accountable immediately before people or fight the spirit and reproach of not wanting to be named or seen with Christ especially in this your day of small beginning. If that be, you're vindicated.

What matters is that your sheaf stands up. What matters is that you have a candlestick before God. If you're this recognized and approved by heaven, they'll come one and all to your church. It is the mystery of the risen and upright sheaf.

I pray for you that your sheaf will rise. The Bible says, "a city set on a hill cannot be hidden neither do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel but on a lamp stand to give light to all that's in the room" (Matt.5:14-15).

When your sheaf rises up and stands upright, you immediately become a city set on a hill that cannot be hidden. Irrespective of your siting, you'll be attractive, locatable and visible. They'll just be searching you out. May I say that the visibility every true man should strive for is spirit visibility first of all. When your sheaf has taken its place in the spirit and is not bowed but upright with forthrightness, you'll be noticed. If your sheaf is laying down, bent and bowed in the spirit however, men may continue to bypass you for good. You may be beautiful but you won't just get proposals and if you do, only from players. But once this deed of the risen and upright sheaf effects itself on you, you immediately begin to sell. It will be you they'll send for, enquire from, give to, promote, belove and even choose above others. It's because you're set where you are locatable. You're a city set on a hill which can no longer be hidden. You've broken fetters and blasted bushels. You have refused to be caged or subdued but rather to manifest unfettered. So, men would be persuaded of you.

It doesn't matter what has happened to you and changed your position and status for another. Today, I'm sent to say, RESTORE! Whereever sheaves that should be worshipped are the ones worshipping, I cause a reversal. Princes might have become slaves you know and they might even have exchanged rides for a lower status or degree. However, the decree is that, "take your place. Let headship be clear. Receive that mark of distinction and be praised and noted for same.

I pray that any power supremely bowing your sheaf from rising and being observed for good are blasted and rebuked in Jesus' name. I say to you son and daughter of God that your sheaf will rise and rise uprightly in the gathering of sheaves. Amidst whomsoever, you won't be the one with a bowed and bent sheaf - begging for life and seeking to be. Rather, like Joseph, you'll be established as a risen and upright sheaf on your hill. You'll reign as chief because God is your upper arm and he Who gives you upper hand.

This month, you are RISEN and you are UPRIGHT! Be the head only!

MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE -  Olusola ADEJUMO

WHEN YOU'RE A MAN

Exodus 2:11, KJV

"And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren".

When you're a man, you engage reason deeply and act differently. Purposelesness can't fret a man like when he was a child. Manhood comes with its own given vision. It imparts on you some understanding either gathered by years of experience or granted you by divine revelation. The Bible says, "when I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things" (1 Corinthians 13:11, KJV). This act of putting away childish things could occur by those two reasons I had afore given above. However, major is the fact that what puts it away is actually one's becoming of a man itself. There's an age of manhood or maturity when it's a curse continuing in childish things. It is specifically of purpose rather. It is also the age or let's say time of discovery in your life. Once you enter that zone, you'll see that the thoughts of your head would suddenly become different. There'll be a mind and thinking shift. Jesus Christ our Master realized himself at twelve. He said, "wouldn't you that I must be about my Father's business." He entered and got admission into purpose at a level at twelve and into a level of destiny and ultimate purpose at about thirty when he began his public ministry (Lk. 2:42,49 & Lk.3:23). Paul says, "but when I became a man, I put away childish things." Simply put, if any one hasn't put away childish things, it's because he has not grown up. Nobody instructs an adult on giving up childish things. He'll just see they don't fit him any longer. He'll observe persistence in childish things would bring him ridicule and reduction. Like a clothe that you've outgrown, he'll just be forced to give it out. He'll drop all behind with, "they don't fit me any longer." As he's being weaned from childish things, you can be sure some will still continue in childish things and that's basically because their own time to be weaned hasn't come yet. Until they also become men, they can't shed off childish things. Time and a season you'll enter into will wean you. As I was clocking a particular year (a landmark) in my life some times ago, I found out that the thoughts of my head tilted towards a direction like never before. Also, I had a divinely granted revelation of what to do and how to do it to possess the future. I came to reckon that I had never thought or caught with intensity such burdens like I did for a period of six months to that my landmark birthday. Like I told my wife and those around me, I just had flooded insights and understanding into many things. It was so strong that all the things I taught during that period bore the mark of those divinely granted revelations. I have never appreciated God than I did that time. I kept writing and writing and keeping a record of His thoughts of welfare to me. So, I am a living testimony to the fact that there are understanding you'll never have until you hit an age or become a man. God fixes that we see and catch some things at a particular age so that we might run with it. That's because the one caught at a stage is the prerequisite for entering and qualifying for another stage. If you miss a stage's, progression may be hindered.

Moses, when he was grown up went out not to sight see or look like before but to do one thing - look on the burdens of his brethren. At this time, he already claims identification with the Hebrews though an Egyptian in outlook. He knows these are my brethren and he has now suddenly become concerned for them. The Bible didn't leave us to guess what his age was. We can bear he's forty at this time.

Acts 7:23, KJV

"And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel".

At full forty years, imagine that, Moses was said to have grown and have become a man. At forty unlike any other time in his life, it came into his heart to make a visit to his brethren, the children of Israel. Let me ask you, "when did this act he did occur to him?" At forty right? At a definite age. That tells me some things will never occur to you until you hit a particular age. Go and read books and have hands laid on you; you just can't miss this being your lot also. You must come to a particular age before some revelation, understanding, hows will begin to be clear to you. You couldn't have gathered it earlier even if you had tried. All of us have human limitations. Our mind can go far but not farther. What takes our mind farther are the divinely allowed thoughts that penetrates us but this specific thought will come by time and at a specific moment. Your friend might be operating in his own divinely granted revelation but you may not for now. You may even be of the same age but for some reasons, he might have entered this season when things are allowed of God to come or occur to him for proper action. This is what makes our act different from billions of people on the earth's  surface. The understanding and the unheard voices we heard made it so. So Moses makes a journey to check on the children of Israel. He looks on their burden and sympathized with them. What you must know is that this is untypical of Moses to do. He has never done a thing like this. He had never stepped out for the sole purpose of beholding their burdens even if he had been out some couple of occasions before. I'm sure that won't be the first time he'll be going out. However, at afore times, immaturity or lack of revelation (intentionally denied him) might have made him not develop such kind of thought or reason to even go check on the burdens of his brethren. However, when the time fully came, he couldn't forbear. He went out like a man driven to action. Indeed, that was what happened to him. The question God is giving me to ask you is that when your own time came when things began to come to your heart from God on what to do, what did you do in that time and with the communicated information? Some wasted it. They didn't see it as any different and so destiny and great life bypassed them. Now, they're accusing God of blessing a compatriot and not turning in their direction. But you once had your moment of divine revelation when divinely allowed thoughts on what action and life to lead came to you. How did you squander it? Who bewitched you? However, when a fellow  becomes a man, he puts away childish things necessarily. What comes to our heart to do which we do is what either makes us a man or reveals us continuously as a child. The mark that Moses has put away childish things is revealed in what his burden is. He became so purposeful at forty that he even killed an Egyptian for an Hebrew. According to Stephen, he thought his brethren would understand that their deliverance has come by his hands (Acts 7:25).

When you're a man and you attain the age or time or moment of divinely granted revelation, you will put away childish things. Yes, by yourself. Just by yourself. What you ask for or aim at would receive a turn around so much more that parents or overseers over you who have known you for frivolities in times past would wonder at your new life. What we should pray for is that we'll be brought into such moment of deep revelation on time or at our time. It must not be delayed on you at all. The reason is so that we can staunch foolishness on time and begin to work purpose and righteousness - the very works of He that calls us out of darkness into his marvelous light. The night is far spent and this isn't time again to begin to dilly-dally. You can henceforth turn around and let your new phase be marked by new acts which are products of growth, knowledge gathered and revelation/understanding divinely granted you. While a Moses might have been mindful of the throne for years, while he might have proudly called himself the daughter of Pharaoh's daughter till his year forty; yet all drastically changed and got balled out as he entered his year of revelation. He receives a perfect understanding and acts in correspondence of that. He becomes willing to be identified and to suffer affliction with God's people rather than the fleeting pleasure of palace life (Heb.11:24-26). Priority changed. What interests him has become all new. Moses has therefore become a new man himself. A man who can now direct his energy somewhere God could reckon with or leverage on later. May time not therefore pass you over without the corresponding wisdom it imparts. If not, you'll never be prepared for the years ahead. May you be ushered into your moment of divinely granted revelation. Let things come to your mind to do. Receive lamps and new understanding on where to go, who to join, who to remove, what to buy, what not to eat and how to live. I say once more, let God ordain you a lamp. Let things begin to come to your heart. May your steps therefore be steps of divine wisdom and of divinely granted thoughts.

PRAYER: Lord God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, let the summer of dryness pass over me. Open your windows and floodgates of heaven and grant me divine revelations. Cause me to see and hear from you.

MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL - 02/09/2024

MONDAY  - 2ND SEPTEMBER, 2024 Happy New Month!!! MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL - Olusola ADEJUMO BESETTED BUT TURNED FORTH AS GOLD Acts 27:...
