MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE - Olusola ADEJUMO

Long Life and God's Salvation Oreoluwa ADEJUMO (M'Wings)

THE COMMANDED IS THE COMMANDED EVEN THOUGH HE QUESTIONS YOU

Mark 11:1, KJV

"1 ...he sendeth forth two of his disciples, 2 And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him. 3 And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither".

I looked at Jesus and I resorted at a man who lived the ordained and the predestined life. How I pray that our feet will all meet with the pre-planned of God. May you not go astray or wander off God's ready made plans. May you rather fit into it to the praise of He who has called and chosen you.

Jesus enjoyed a lot. This verse contains one of the special privileges Jesus had. Such a prophetic life. It is said and discovered to be so. Jesus put two disciples on errand to the end that they might fetch Him a colt. It's time to ride triumphantly into Jerusalem. Everything is timed. He gives the address and even sees into the future that they'll be questioned as to what purpose they need the colt for. So, in taking thought for them, He told them what response to give when asked who ordered them to loose the colt.

You see, that's another thing that amazes me. How did He know they'll face the probing of men? Obviously, that's the operation of Word of Knowledge. It's the manifestation of revelation. Roads unwalked would just be clear to you. Paths untrodden would lay bare before you. You'll just know (not by yourself) but of God. As the attempt to fetch the colt begins, a group questions them if they knew what they were doing. Their response was, "the Lord has need of it". It's this answer that satiates. It's this answer that settles all. Meanwhile, though these two disciples were commanded disciples and the people they met were as well commanded yet, they were tried. So, should we say they were not in the first place commanded by God? No. They were commanded by God and have been put under command since those two disciples received that instruction to go untie that colt. Meanwhile, one understanding is being supplied to us here. It is the measure that sieves truth from falsehood. That measure has been put in place so that many people won't perpetrate evil successfully in the name of God without being found out and stopped. Imagine if when they asked who sent you them, they had said, "Pilate or one of the big names", what do you think would have happened? Those ones wouldn't have agreed that they untie it let alone go with it. The instruction they had received is that, "the Lord has need of it" and on that note, when He comes for it (irrespective of who He send) it should be released to Him. That's why you'll be a failure if you deliver the captive of the oppressor and you were asked and you said, you did. Only God does.

These disciples faced a query, a panel though God had spoken to them in truth and in deed. They still needed to be checked, probed and proven. At day's end, it was clear that they were as well the commanded to the commanded. While God has put men under obligation for them, yet those men had to prove them if they were as well ones sent to them. As such, I say nothing is wrong if you propose to a sister and she says not me. If you're sure of who spoke to you, go and meet Him. He'll speak and bend the knee of that sister for you. It is only when people are doing trial and error and they miss it that they'll say God does not work. Did He lead or guide you to someone or you're trying to slate a meet and pitch a relationship with someone? If you miss it, admit you miss it. Repent of having said you were formerly led. Rebuke the spirit of error. Have your conscience repaired and wait on God for who He will send you to. The mark that it is the Lord's doing is that when you appear, you have a word for that person and the fellow has a word in return for you. It is when you both click and enter each other this way that the Lord has spoken to both of you to and fro and sent you to each other to and fro. This test filters away for us those God didn't send but who wants to take what God has prepared and He's reserving for His own beloved. God forbid! You'll be discovered and rebuked once. That someone is the commanded doesn't mean he won't check you out. If God sends your church to go and meet a driver who He has spoken to who will avail your church his bus for a week of mission and evangelism. Don't you think God in His wisdom would have given that man a sign as well as yourself so that when both of you meet, there'll be agreement that you're for each other. Why won't God do that since He's not the author of confusion? That's the clarity. It is the measure that rather solidify our faith in this act and practice that if God commands someone for your sake, they shall after all surrender to the will of God. They may check things out, they may want to know who sent you and question the authenticity of your appearing and coming. However, it shall be unto you as afore said to you by God and as predicted by the words of His mouth. Keep your calm. Be assured that they shall obey if it's God. What we must prove is, "is it God?"

PRAYER: I receive patient spirit to tarry to hear God before my feet runs any errand..

HE WILL PROVIDE FOR HIMSELF - The Commanded Series 009

Genesis 22:7, KJV

"7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? 8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together".

Do you know that He provides for what He commands? This is key to receiving divine provision. If you're seeking to do a thing and the fund is not coming, you should hold on and ask why the witholding of fund. I believe God must take you to a place where when you're out of tune and you're beginning to run the errand that He didn't commission, things would just fold up. If this be the signal or has been the signal in your own life and ministry, it may mean God didn't author that thing you're doing and He's seeking to align you. If anyone however thinks it wise to dabble into a self authored assignment, God is gentle enough to respect his choice and let him provide for himself. What He has not commanded, He's not in anyway liable to provide for it. You may then go ahead to bear the expense of sacrificing. You can spend your long gathered and accumulated salary. Kill your Isaac and let us see how many you'll kill as other assignments unfold. Let us see whether you can win by your strength and will and not be weary or dabble into wrong means of raising funds.

If you still want to do the will of God and you've currently began something that the Word of the Lord didn't commission, it'll be God's mercy to you starving it to death. And please, let it die of starvation. Don't seek to resurrect it. Trying to do so will be wanting to set up Jericho again. The cost is not always interesting. Wanting it to thrive is wanting to have flourish what God will visit and seek to scatter. Tower of Babels don't interest God! Any such work that His mouth didn't utter shall ultimately be scattered by Him.

God asked Abraham for meat. God asked him to go and sacrifice his only son. Isaac not being a novice to the processes and preparation of sacrifices ask why there's no lamb on the scene. At least, he could see other ingredients. Abraham didn't stretch the matter. He only said, "the Lord will provide for Himself". Are you a husband and father over a family, leader of an entity and it seems there's scarce or limited resources, you can sure put your faith in God that if you and what you're doing be His works, He'll provide for Himself. Mark the usage of the expression, "...for Himself". Imagine God providing for Himself. Many times when God asks people to do something, novices or versatile men may begin to run around seeking to provide for God. This place however says, the correct way to service to God is that He'll provide for Himself. If He has placed a demand on you i.e. calling you into ministry, it's His to gift you the anointing by which you can function and fulfill this assignment. All of us always want to wait patiently for the provision of God for Himself here. The disciples even waited for empowering at the Upper Room (Acts 2). They've been called and sent but God must provide for Himself (what He called them to do), so that they might discharge.

Meanwhile, when it comes to resources to do ministry, people no longer wait for God to provide for Himself. They immediately will take shield and buckler and take laws into their hands. They'll immediately sound the trumpet and begin to do fund raise. This ain't the way God said ministry should be done. Except He commands that you take an offering from God's people for a particular task, don't. However, you ought ask Him when He tells you of what you'll do for Him how He'll meet it knowing you're a worm without backbone.

I don't have much questions for any who said God has called him or has given him an assignment to do. Okay, if God tells you to call a gathering of His own people, will He that tells you to go to war let you do that at your own charges? No! Will He not provide? However, did you seek Him for provision? Did you even know you have to ask or wait on Him for that? Or you think writing a couple of letters out is what will settle it. From this act, I found out many assignments may be legit (in that God authors them) but they are bastardized works because the process of acquiring provision embarasses God and belittles Him from being the One who had commanded the work to be done. The mark that somebody asks you to do something is that He meets your needs in doing it. Check from Genesis to Revelation. Have you seen someone God calls that He's trying to preach by his own strength before? He always enable them. I couldn't have lifted a finger before but by calling, I now preach. It's not because I studied English. I know I still make a lot of mistakes with grammar. However, we have colonized resources. We believe we can save our salaries to do ministry and that will be all. Did God ask for it? Did He tells you to use your salary? How much of your salary or that of others could you collect for assignments often? That's a mark that God didn't call you or calls you and you're bastardizing the work. The mark that He calls you to go and do sacrifice also means He'll provide for Himself and at the end He sure gave Abraham a ram. Meanwhile, God will like us obey and accept His assignment. If we do, as we follow the Lord on and trust Him, He shall provide. And that will be marvellous in our sight. That's what will surprise us because He'll do His thing unconventionally.

When you don't wait for the Lord to provide, your meeting is either enlarged more than God desires or is diminished and relatively tied to what you have at hand. Let the prove of genuine assignment be, "He that the Lord provides for". Elijah said the proof will be, "the God which answers by fire" is the Lord. If he manufactures his own fire, it would have been visibly seen but He let God proves Himself. I also believe if all of us will settle ministry this way, there will be a reduction in the number of people who says God has called them or are doing unrecognized assignments around. That you have fund at hand which you don't know what to do with it does not mean you should go on television. Did He command you is the ultimate? Stop saying, "I can fund it, so I'll do it". Let it be, "I can do it because He said I should do it".

PRAYER: I wait on you. Do provide for Yourself.

CAN THE HOLY SPIRIT COLLECT FROM YOU ANYTHING? - The Commanded Series 002

READ Mathew 1:18-20

Matthew 1:20, KJV

"But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost".

The day you're born again is the day you're admitted into God's kingdom. In that kingdom, resources are sent and are received. Just like we transfer through bluetooth - from one end to the other, same is how things flow. Without God having to lay pipes, transportation happens daily.  Meanwhile, resources could be passed through anyone. What matters is that such is faithful to part with it. Faithfulness is all that matters in service to our King of kings. The ravens didn't hold Elijah's bread. They were under command and they acted commanded. Same with that widow of Zarephath. This should be our general testimony. A man or woman that God can find locatable and ready to meet others' needs and serve them their food (as God has given us). Please, not for impression or you might soon pass into the border of dead works.

As you grow or get where you trust God as your provider, He can begin to prove so.  However, let it be that you can be a vessel for God to pass blessings through. If you're holding anyone's bread and God asks for its release, let it be that you'll be that type of man that in fear and gratitude of being found a vessel release it. Have the testimony of one that there's nothing God can't collect from him.

We all know Joseph, to whom Mary, the mother of Jesus was betrothed. The Bible however says before they come together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Not knowing that, Joseph seeks to divorce her secretly. That he's even doing it secretly tells us he is not revengeful but a man who has been discipled and has learnt God. However, while he contemplates the matter, he has a dream where an angel tells him to take Mary unto him as his wife and that what's in her is of the Holy Ghost.

You see, there's no 'lie' other than that! There's no unsavoury thing to hear other than that but Joseph knew who has communicated to him and so he submitted. The end of all strife. You can agitate but do until the Spirit witnesses to you. It's a sign of true brokenness. Many times, when God passes somebody bread to you and demands it to be given, you reluctantly with wrinkles on your face contemplates it. That may be. However, ensure it's eventually passed. On occasions, you don't even act and God is not eventually glorified through you. How much more if it were on a matter like this? Would you not find that hard to release to God? You see, you will determine to what extent you want to walk with Jesus. You'll determine how much He can trust you. If you're the type that God can't collect something from; or call to lay a matter to rest, then you can have your way and see how it goes. Over the years, I have proven God is right even by my experience. The Bible says the Spirit of God will not always strive with man. It means it will strive with you first.

Genesis 6:3, KJV

"And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man..."

If God strives with you and you're not redressing on what He's raising with you, He'll eventually leave you to yourself as a reprobate. He will usually come to you on that same matter more than once but if He found you unadmnistrable, then you should know that's not kindness to you. On the occasions God had placed demands on me and I have refused, when I saw the outcome and how the matter went, I regretted it. It was after then I saw reasons enough why I should have done as he bidded me. You can trust God and trust the process. All of us are resources in His kingdom. He can administer us physically to where He'll want us be or administer resources through us to others. Joseph didn't have to be repeatedly told to take in Mary. Once was enough. I'll say, "that's a disciple". Who knows whether he made mistakes while learning this earlier also but he proves to be our good example? I don't know what Christianity you practice that it's your Lord that constantly demands you to slay your Isaac - even of your will and an already made decision yet with continuous overdue refusal to do so. Brother, sister, watch your behind. This is not a good testimony. Time of ignorance God has generally winked at. He's commanding all men to repentance and obedient living. If we're living stones that make up God's kingdom, should we not know He'll use us for whatsoever reasons He purposed as need may be. We are not inanimate. Even the inanimate can and do praise God. May you be found. May God call your name and may you hearken to him.

PRAYER: Lord, I lay any matter of contest between us to rest. Forgive and restore me joy.

GET THEE TO ZAREPHATH! - Lead and Feed Series 013

I Kings 17:8-9, KJV

"8 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, 9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee."

May I ask what the instruction was? Where was he told to get to? Why was he told to get there? Will getting there make any difference? Will restraining not matter also? People, welcome to another day. The Spirit is ready to wing you God's word. Let's travel on Morning Wings so that we might reach the uppermost end of the sea (which would be manifested in reaching the peak of our destinies on earth).

God expressly spoke to Elijah and no fellow could even deny His telling him, "get thee to Zarephath." There are those who deny instructions. Joab did and he was confronted for denying an outright instruction of the king that should be weighty to him (II Samuel 18:12). Today, I want to show you why some still suffer though God has destined that they should be led and fed. The Lord is their Shepherd and is now coming to begin to feed them but by first issuing them instructions as to where and how to be fed but they seem deafened, non-challant and reluctant leaving the familiar they've known for the unfamiliar God is commanding. Let me tell you, you'll suffer much and make the Scripture that says, "the young lions do lack and suffer hunger, but those that seek the Lord shall not suffer good things" void by this your disobedience (Psalms 34:10). God said irrevocably and with every sense of responsibility to Elijah, "get thee to Zarephath." Listen, that was the responsibility of Elijah to see to. God knows where it's happening, where the next move is, where the cloud has gathered and where the carcass is. He only leads to where the green pasture is. The fact that there's "green pastures" means there are "brown or dry pastures" also. That's however not fresh meal. God desires you feed on the choicest meals of Zion if you'll be willing and obedient but if you'll become reluctant and afraid of what is ahead because you don't have all the details, you'll fall into want and suffer needlessly. That's why God is saying, "I have a solution. You, get yourself to Zarephath (outside the country, to another city or town in your country, to another job, to your friend's or pastor's house, the garage, the square, that restaurant) etc. There, I have commanded somebody to feed you (see to your sustenance). There, I have commanded your path and your helper to cross. That means, unless you're there, that provision can't be uncovered. You may not know the fellow but on getting there, identification would happen. The gravitational pull that happened at the valley of dry bones that drew bone to bone would pull you to the recognition of each other. You'll be locatable and both of you will come into agreement like Elijah and this widow did. Things are scheduled for locations and settings. If God is saying, "go and apply to that place because I have commanded you to be employed and sustained there while you're reluctant, if your brook dries, you'll suffer. Unless Elijah goes to Zarephath, that prophecy of being fed can't come to pass. His miracle is geography bound. His feeder is in Zarephath and not Syria. How many people has God appeared to in this manner who have wasted His instruction and are suffering for same needlessly? You've undone yourself. Lack of trust in God and fear of the unknown is costing you. You want God to tell you everything once and for all instead of being led a step at a go. You're joking. That wouldn't be faith again. God said, "get thee to Zarephath." Did you see any immediacy and urgency in that instruction also? It was even a command. Having received such instruction, it becomes sin for its holder to tarry or spend the night even where God has departed from and is commanding him to depart from also. As a matter of fact, if you're still where you should have departed from (at God's command), anything could kill you there. All the things that God's hedge of protection afore shielded you from while you were obeying God (by abiding where He first commanded you to stay) could now kill you. Why? You're in disobedience. This could open a crack in your hedge of protection. This is because while God has moved to Zarephath, you're still at the Brook Cherith. God has said, "get thee out of your country but you're still established there like a mountain." I bet it with you, what couldn't kill you before until that instruction could kill you now. Rumours of war, banditry, terrorism etc that you never esteemed previously could now break through your hold and make you unsettled.

God is saying to someone, before you and I could even revisit what I've told you and intended to make of you, "first of all obey, leave Brook Cherith (where you are presently) and depart to Zarephath (where I've commanded you should be). Until then, no second talk. I praise those who heard God and left for abroad or a new territory especially where there's no familiar face or a consciously prepared place for them at arrival. I mean those God sent there without having assurance of a system or person catering for their needs upon arrival like a student who get a full scholarship to study abroad. Such people would pack like Abraham and go where they've not been, only trusting in the God of their prophecy, Who will now ordain their path with the appointed helper. God has spoken to many like this without details of what's next. They only trusted. That's why God also is not ashamed to be called their God. If they've so much followed Him commitedly, He ought manifest to them commitedly. I'm hearing, "stop and get thee to Zarephath." In God's mind, you know where Zarephath is. The instruction is therefore not mysterious. As a matter of fact, you know how to get there. So, nothing seems too demanding but may disobedience not cage you and finally cost you.

PRAYER: Lord, make me obedient at heart. Let me hear you once and acknowledge with action seven times.
