READ TEACHINGS, PLAY S

READ TEACHINGS, PLAY SERMONS AND REJOICE IN SONGS

Why do we read teachings or listen to sermons or songs - doing so repeatedly?

I've taught this before. There are three types of people that are drawn to the anointing.

- Truth seekers

Those are the people drawn towards what the anointed teaches. The truth straightens them, becomes their guide and instructions for life but furthermore equip them with knowledge to share and prepare them for their own ministry if they have one in the future. So, it becomes, "in your light we see light."

- Those the anointing draws to dissolve or destroy the yokes in their lives

When some are drawn to an anointing - especially of someone carrying a special ministration or ministry, it may be that God is hooking them up to that person whose anointing and God's power on him can address their problems. Even without knowing as they listen to him and follow him, their burdens are dissolved and their spiritual yokes are destroyed (that is corrupted).

That's why you feel lighter after listening to sermons where you've been burdened or besetted. It shows even on the literal level that God's word and anointed speech are evacuators of problems. If you tarry under an anointed person's ministry, even if he doesn't say, "be delivered" and there are spiritual equations working against you, God will absorb and absolve you of them without you even knowing as time passes. Strong ministration is not until you fall. That's why you must not chase after the feeling but the substance. But the problem is that, people don't really follow or discover who to open up to.

- Those who have their destiny portion carried by that anointing

This is the third kind of person. Listen to me, God doesn't just put people in local churches or knit their hearts with an anointed minister. If you have special love for any minister and you like listening to him above all others, it means you probably have a call to ministry somewhere in your life even if you haven't discovered. Meanwhile, God has seen no one else to equip you and transfer the Spirit (anointing) to you except that man. You may meet more than one man in life. On campus, I predicted and told my excos about my meeting Venerable Johnson Oyebode even when I haven't known him. Till today, I knew what God hooked me up with him to receive. God doesn't just attach people to men of God to serve them or live in their houses. It's a function of a future destiny that preparation must be made for.

That's why it's easier to mark the proteges of certain elderly or anointed ministers. Those young chaps may have manifestations after the ministry and the anointed they take after or have learnt from. Consider Benny Hinn taking after Kathryn Khulman.

Destiny portion is what equips an Elisha for his own day after Elijah might have left the scene. God keeps passing anointing and reintroducing ministries (that may look like that of someone you formerly know). For instance, Segun Ariyo has a ministry that patterns that of Bro. Gbile Akanni.

But beyond this, why do we listen to sermons or follow teachings?

Let me give you bits

- to imbibe the Spirit of the teaching and the anointed

- to be anointed with the works they do as you follow and imbibe them. This is how I got anointed just by following. I'm an ardent follower of men God has given me. I can listen to one sermon repeatedly until I imbibe the Spirit of it and Impartation happens

- to be able to open the Bible and divide scriptures like they do. I find this to be true. I receive scriptures to use like Olusola Areogun and Johnson Oyebode receive it. It just comes to me. I may pick a scripture that on the surface may seem not to align with the topic but by the time I divide it, you'll see the juice in it and nod in affirmation

- to be refreshed and washed by the Word

- to be empowered with spiritual power and strength. If you don't know, the anointing enters you as you listen or read. You're strengthened and build spiritual stamina

- to be convicted of sin unto godly sorrow or repentance

- to be instructed about life or know what to do per time

- to be kept anointed instead of one's head lacking oil and feeling or saying life doesn't make sense 'jare'

- to be equipped with sound doctrine

- in order to be made ready to defend the gospel

- to be a witness

- to know what the Bible is all about

And many more.

In all these, people who'll follow more ardently are those who think or believe they have a future in ministry. They're the greatest truth seekers. If you think your future will be built around Medicine, that may be your greatest concern and so shift your focus to following consultants in the field. What we want to become is what we always have passion for. Note that!

You can add your own points to the list on why we listen to sermons etc. Let it be your practice to listen to sermons until you fall asleep. It's better for sermons or the Bible to be playing as an audio file than a bad programme or careless talk going on over you from the TV as you sleep. It'll sip into your unconsciousness. Dag Heward Mills also listened to Kenneth Hagin until he was anointed. He slept and woke up to meet the tape playing, he continued with it and then he felt something entering him and a voice saying, "from now on, you can teach." From that, he has written books that have gone on to the ends of the earth and blessed many.

Don't toil with spiritual things, this is how to be great. Sisters, mummies at home, even if you're busy, let a sermon keep playing. Put your phone somewhere in the kitchen and let it play on as you cook, do the dishes or bathe. When I go to poo, I go on listening. Look, there's no time to waste. I'm here to make contact. Plug in earphones in the bus, get anointed and seriously wet by the Holy Spirit. Even on the blog, you can trigger the audio tool and it'll read out my teachings for you as you do chores or clean the house.

Maximize your life please. We have no spare tyre.

Stay green!
