WHEN GOD USES FIGURE OF SPEECH - It'll Meet Preparation On Ground Series 002

Read Gen. 41:1-33

Genesis 41:32, KJV

"And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass."

There's a figure of speech called repetition. It's generally categorized under figure of speech in Literature in English though it could receive categorization as a figure of sound. What is clear is that it is a figure of speech with the like of Metaphor, Simile, Pun, Assonance etc. 

God uses figure of speech and the one He uses today is repetition. Joseph told Pharaoh that because the event is slated to happen, that's why God doubles the dream to him. That is, God wouldn't have spoken once and gone further to speak the second time if He had not established and planned to bring that communication to pass. 

Genesis 41:5, KJV

"And he slept and dreamed the second time..."

In Literature in English, repetition is never used by any writer in vain. It is always used for the purpose of emphasis - the exact reason for which God doubles His communication to Pharaoh. A very cogent act of telling him that it has been decided and fixed!

I've said it over the years that God is a God of emphasis. The Bible highlights Pharaoh's first dream of seven thin fleshed cows swallowing the fat fleshed. One might have taken that for granted and Pharaoh actually could have did. But he slept again to encounter a dream in the similitude of the first. Putting two plus two together, he knows something is hidden somewhere that must be deciphered. Moreso, the Bible says, "and his spirit was troubled" (Gen.41:8). It's not every troubling of your spirit that's of the devil or a signal of the devil. No! God might want to use it to rouse you to action. If the alarm bells didn't rise in his spirit, he might sit down quietly and not seek solutions towards unravelling those dreams. Personally, whenever I dream and they are not dreams from multitude of businesses, they always come alive. I often find this as a measure that God is speaking to me if it were through dreams. The reality of it would hit and it'll keep ringing and reoccurring. 

Just like Pharaoh, there are those of you that God in His infinite mercy has visited recurringly yet without corresponding action for which God visited you. I can tell you that you'll be consumed and will soon reap the reward of your disobedience. As I'm even looking at you, your part might soon be with sinners and that won't be because God failed you but because your sheep is camouflaging and beginning to live as a goat. When God sees the future and wants to bring us into its awareness - He doubles His communication to place emphasis or importance on it. If you're not stupid but wise of heart, you should be able to naturally deduce that something is in store or at stake if you repeatedly have the same dream (targeted towards a goal) though with diverse elements or scenes. You should think it up and like Peter upon the house top, such communication is such that you should give yourself to quickly find out by meditating or counselling on what it could be (Acts 10:17, 19). 

Today, mind it, God does not use figure of speech in vain. Like a writer seeking to show the inevitability of an event, He repeats what He doesn't want men to take for granted. May your spirit however be alive. May God speak once, may you hear twice and move in fear and terror like Noah to obey Him.

"God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this..."

Hebrews 11:7, KJV

"By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith".

Brethren, I see a rain coming upon the earth. It will drench a lot of people and its water will sweep many away. The unplanned will begat and like a shock, it'll surprise the unnotified. However, you can be that prudent man who foresees ahead and hide himself or become that wise man who builds his house on the rock in anticipation of the besetting flood and wind (Matt. 7:24-25). Foresight is a manifestation of divine notices or understanding you have. That's when you can escape the coming flood in world crisis or trouble - be it financial or political etc. Things are moving. Be moved in the spirit to sight same!

PRAYER: I'm full of ears round my body. I'm full of perception. I foresee; I anticipate and I am prompt in obedience.

MEN ARE STILL DREAMING AND RECEIVING - It'll Meet Preparation On Ground Series 001

Genesis 41:1, KJV

"And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river".

It is a blessing if you can hear God. What blessing it is cannot be lightly regarded. As you proceed in life and in your Christian journey, the many salvation the Lord will bring and give you will be based on your being able to hear God - be led or guided. 

The Bible says, "the prudent man foresees the evil and he hides himself" (Prov.23:3). Before the 'hiding', there is 'seeing'. Seeing is a function of knowing what's coming to happen before it happens. That's what propels that prudent man into taking the action of hiding himself and that's what you stand to benefit when you can still pick waves of God's communication. Therefore, no matter how dutiful you are or tight your schedules may be, never find it obsolete or impossible coming to God whose His is secret things to keep or give.

Being privy to secret information yet to come on the world is a rare privilege that artificial intelligence is short of. Artificial intelligence can therefore go far but not farther. However, God can go the farthest distance by revealing to you the future that no one has ever entered or stumbled into. The Bible says, "7 there is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture's eye hath not seen: 8 The lion's whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it" (Job 28:7-8). There is! No matter how perusing, sound to the latter and good in analysing details they are, there's a layer and level of what's to come that they can't decipher. They'll totally be oblivion of it. They can't just know it. Why? It is only God who knows what's in darkness - having light on every matter always. He only reveals deep and secret things (Dan.2:22). Mortal man needs divine illumination if he'll ever enter into a future yet to come and make ready for it. 

The Bible says, "and Pharaoh dreamed..." Simply put, "and Pharaoh heard God!" That's it. That is no ordinary dream. That's God seeking to awaken a man to the events soon to befall the world. And so, God gives him a dream. In these dreams, he saw clearly the description of plants and farm animals that'll later be interpreted by Joseph as being seven years of plenty and seven years of famine. That he dreamed is the beginning of his breakthrough. The question God is directing me to ask you is this. Do you still hear Me? Are you still in the condition of life where you can pick Spirit information? If I lighten your path and enlighten your darkness, will you treat it as divine communication or identify it for that? That's why God began with us on the importance of hearing him. While Pharaoh didn't pray to hear God or make any effort before he heard God, yet if you'll ever come to hear God and know His mind always, you must first have His Spirit and that comes by being born again. The Bible says, "for as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they're the sons of God" (Rom.8:14) and we know that no one becomes the son of God who has not being imparted by divinity (God) with the power to first be. The Bible says, "but as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name" (John 1:12, KJV). That's a great mark. The Spirit of God won't lead you into misbehaviour. Why won't you be known therefore as a peace maker? So, you can't but be in reputation of being God's son who lives holily and above any flood that the enemy might rush in upon the world. However, you must keep your hour. Jesus told His disciples to watch and pray that they may not enter into temptation. He even asked them, "could you not watch with me for an hour?" (Matt.26:40-41). Watching in your hour will keep you from the temptation or adversity coming upon the world. It's while keeping fellowship with God that you'll be intimated on those coming hard times and enlightened on how to save or hide yourself.  Everybody will come into such time. A time that'll try you out. It's what the Bible calls in another place as the "day of adversity" (Prov.24:10). Adversity is just to test and reveal your strength. May you be kept from such hour and moment that's slated to come upon the world. May you be one of the few that'll attract the testimony of being saved from that hour because you have kept the word of God's patience. "Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth". I pray for you, you'll be in relevance, position and erection to receive from God. Like an antennae well positioned to pick signal waves, so will you be. Noah heard God and was kept from the hour of temptation that came upon the whole world. You will and you'll be kept from same.

PRAYER: Lord, I keep my hour and I am kept from the temptation slated to come upon the world. I am not dull of perception. I see and I note.

ON ELECTION

Read Gen. 48:8-20

Genesis 48:14, KJV

"And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn".

We are choosing beings just like God is a choosing Spirit. There's none of us here who has not chosen something or someone above another before. It just pleased us to choose what we chose. At times, we even choose the unpopular and what others would demean if they heard of our choice of same. Somehow however, we liked it, was attracted to it and even though without any special good in that thing, we chose it above others that may even have better qualities. 

Election runs through the Bible both subtly and obviously. Election which is a debatable doctrine in Christendom is a truth that we can't still deny because election of God has even found expression in each and everyone of us. You might be there doing something the other is not, having an equipping for the work the other doesn't know how to do and one may wonder why the other (though more eloquent, brilliant or even more presentable at times) isn't the one doing it. That'll be because he was not chosen for it. As far as I know, you can't call yourself and it'll work. That's election in expression. If you ask any married man, they'll tell you there were many women on offer when they chose their wives above others. Same applies to the woman. One troubling truth that all of us have come to face is to ask people who are about getting married why they'll get married to somebody we believe is lesser than them. Yet to them, that's just a perfect fit. That's what they've elected or chosen above others. It means if it were left to us, we wouldn't have considered that fellow as a choice but the fellow turns the other person's choice. That's election in expression. 

In today's reading, Joseph hearing that his father is sick brings his two sons with him to check on him. In the course of Jacob's recounting of the days of his pilgrimage on earth, he has eyes for these two sons of Joseph and even adopted them. But with the adoption comes a blessing which necessitates Jacob's crossing of hands. Though Joseph brought the children in a manner that his blind father won't have choice but naturally fall his hands on them and blessed them that way, yet Jacob, being a man of the spirit could smell their destinies and so followed the order of that dictate. 

Genesis 48:13, KJV

"And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel's left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel's right hand, and brought them near unto him".

Joseph seeing that Ephraim has therefore being set before Manasseh refused it but the response of Jacob shows he didn't make mistake with what he did. The Bible even says, "Jacob guides his hands wittingly". Though Ephraim facing him is positioned towards his left hand and Manasseh facing him is positioned towards his right, yet Jacob crosses the hands to lay the right hand on Ephraim (the younger) and the left on Manasseh (the elder). Joseph himself who had enjoyed the mystery of election over his brothers till this time hated the fulfilment of that. He wanted his first born to be ranked first - having the blessing commensurate to the first born and the second born following. However, the mystery of election still cries and fights for expression that Ephraim the youngest be called and set over Manasseh, his elder. 

Herein is the mystery of election revealed. You might fight it; you might detest it but indeed election is true. The Bible says this of Jacob and Esau while they were yet in their mother's womb. Rebecca knew this when she went for consultation (Gen. 25:23).

Romans 9:10-12, KJV

"10 And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac; 11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) 12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger".

Mark it, election is not of works or any good that anyone has done as to please God or make himself attractive to Him. No! It is basically of Him (God) Who calls. On this matter, no one toasts or woos God. He rather woos us! He makes his choice out of mercy. You might have all perfectly in place and God might still elect you to the dismay of others looking up for the same election that could make their valleys to be exalted and so commensurate to yours or He acts vice versa. I know you might have chosen some things above others before but with confrontational questions from friends or parents on why you'd chosen that. Your simple answer might be, "I just did". While God has a purpose for each vessel He chooses yet it is basically of He that calls. You can't charge God with unrighteousness. He's simply expressing His choice the same way you'd done if you walk into a shopping mall for purchases. It is, "I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion" which consequently makes it, "it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy". That's what is at work. I pray for you, may God come to you. May you hear God's voice where you lay above Eli's children. May you begin to have dreams of a glorious destiny in Jacob's house even while among the children of Bilhah and Zilpah. May you be preferred above others whereever you are or find yourself. Be favoured!

PRAYER: I receive mercy and favour of God today.

A MAN BEFORE MY FACE

Psalms 105:17, KJV

"He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant"

Brethren, let your prayer be, "a man before my face". Many things that you can enjoy will come because of a man before your face. A man before your face is a man who's settled but who God can use to invite you into settlement or reveal to you goodness through his office and position. Yet, such won't be debated by anyone. Submission will just answer him from all around him. 

Over the course of my years on earth, I've had cause to look back and thank God as the One who sends men before my face. I found out that whereever I'll one day be (even workplaces), God do send men ahead of me there. These men like way maker at times are those God will use to make my path straight and prepare my way before me. When I got admission into Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, Ogun State, I knew nothing much about tertiary institution or campus life. I've never been there and I'll be the first of my father's children to be there. However, a brother who's from my mother church and town in Yewa North Area of Ogun State was a student in that campus then. He was the one who helped me with my admission process, put me through and it was his room I started living in before I got my own through him. That's nobody but Bro Sina who was like a brother to me throughout my stay on campus. He bought me my first fellowship Hymn Book as well and did me a lot of good. 

God has a way of making things work for you I repeat. One of it is to send a man before you. All that God needed to do to save Israel alive is to send a Joseph before them. Now, how Joseph got to Egypt is not what majorly matters. That's a disguise and a plan to work on the vessel God would use Himself. But what was God's purpose for sending Joseph ahead of his brethren? It was to save a whole nation alive. Joseph is in the know of this. When he makes himself known unto his brothers who feel guilty and bad, he consoles them giving them the Statement of his Purpose (SOP). 

Genesis 45:5, 7, KJV

"5 Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life. 7 And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance".

Simple! The statement of purpose over Joseph as written by God is that, "I am sending a man before them. Joseph who'll be sold for a slave, whose feet will be hurt with fetters but whose word will come". Anyone God sends before you is for you (and not against you). They'll make difficult things easy. Those who do not have a man gone ahead of them will be bullied because of their innocence and being novices. They'll easily be cheated and buffeted by the wind of men who seeks after profit. They'll be extorted and they won't even know. They'll incur expenditure where their money should have been saved and they'll spend or exercise themselves where they themselves should have been reserved. 

The fact that God indeed sent Joseph ahead of his brethren is a revelation he enters to and lives from his day one of meeting and knowing his brethren. While he gives them grain, he rather restores their money to them. Unprecedented favour therefore opens to Israel through this son of Israel abroad. You see, some favour of "no payment" that you'll enjoy in life is not because you're beautiful or handsome. It's because principalities with offices in the lands are part of your resource men. If they are part of your allocation of destiny, they'll make way for you and favour you in a way that no other is favoured. Imagine Joseph giving free grain to his family where he sells to others who comes. Joseph is a saviour raised according to calling for his family and he lives this to the fullest. 

All of us who are reading this may want to ask as well, what call is over me? Has God not raised me a deliverer and a forerunner for other men? You're meant to open the door for other Christians especially those of your small group who you know intimately? I know a brother who won a scholarship to go abroad who after he receives a stay abroad helps many through their getting scholarships or fund their school fees if it's partial scholarship so that they might have it just like he had it. He has become a man of purpose - a man on an errand of destiny and a forerunner of many people. He's calling many sons and daughters to glory in that aspect of life. Who will say to his family, his fellowship members, his church, the orphans he has found to cater for that God sent me ahead of you to save your life by a great salvation - that they may be hidden away from hardship economically or in other ways. I pray for you, your rising shall not be stopped until you get to the seat of Joseph where by your influence you can show mercy of grain-giving to who you want to show it to and propose the Goshen land and will it to who you want to give it to yet without being queried, detested or investigated for same. God will give you influence but your influence is to propagate the gospel and enlarge God's kingdom. Israel as a nation is symbolic of Christendom and Joseph didn't hesitate opening the door for all of them to come and fill up Egypt. Don't become the manager of a branch as a Christian and relax on early morning prayer of all staff. Just like Joseph used his influence to provide and meet the needs of his family, so also God is calling you to do good to all people but especially to those of the household of faith. God is counting on you to maximize and put to effective use the reasons for your ascension and promotion without feeling reproached or considerate of whose ox is gored when discharging same purpose for being there. Joseph gave grains liberally to his family without thinking or ever believing that he was doing wrong. No! Find the purpose for your office (even if same is not celebrated by men) and use your office to fund it. It has a great reward before God. 

PRAYER: Lord, send men before my face and send me before the face of others. May I live Your expectation over me.

THE BEGINNING OF THE DRAMA

Read Gen. 42:5-28

Genesis 42:7, KJV

"7 And Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself strange unto them, and spake roughly unto them; and he said unto them, Whence come ye? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food".

Brethren, this is the beginning of the drama. Joseph saw and knew his brethren! He not only saw but he knew them. If he had seen and had not known them, they might have been free of the drama to follow but that didn't prove for them. What follows is that he makes himself strange to them. He refuses to show himself to them as he that they could be acquinted with. Rather, he disguises himself by not letting his identity known or become unravelled. He made himself strange to them! 

Where he could have spoken in Hebrew, he didn't. He rather speaks the Egyptian language and have it interpreted to them. Where he ought not to have taken interest in their cause or matter, he rather probes and digs deeper. He calls them spies! He behaves rudely to them. The fact that Joseph saw and knew them brought them all these untold 'sufferings' or let me call it, 'recompense' that they faced without knowing it was Joseph who was trying to examine them and see if there's still any wicked way in them. All those acts he put up are the Joseph's pranks. 

What are you doing there that can go into the future to await you? You ought to be careful and discontinue from such. That day as Reuben would testify, he told them that they must not touch him but they did (22). Thirteen years down the line even without knowing it's the same boy they had mishandled, Joseph's brothers meet him face to face. Then, the Bible recorded, "and he saw them and knew them!"

Some of you, you did your rubbish back then in secondary school. Don't think there are those who can't recognize you now though you have grown differently in appearance. There are those you bullied who if they should see you now will still recognize you. Some might see you and not know you but those your sinful life and unruly acts have affected negatively or destroyed can't but see you and remember you for the indelible injury you gave them. Even without having met you, they see your face in their minds often and regret ever meeting you. That's because you were their link into misbehaviour and sin. Joseph couldn't have forgotten his brothers even if they forget him. Do you know why? Through them, he has all his unforgettable memories. Is it of being sold into slavery and being kept in chains or of ascending to the majesty of greatness? He can't just forget! How will he forget that day when he begged at the top of his voice that he should not be sold? His cry was not different from Jesus' who cried in Gethsemane that the cup would pass over Him yet without any saving from the Father? He just had to drink the cup in the company of grace given Him. All the same, Joseph was pushed away and kidnapped into another land. But this act of his brethren was to be remembered. It happened that they'll visit Egypt where Joseph now rules and reigns. At such time when Joseph could do with them like he desires (though dealt with them in forgiveness and unrevengefullness), they came to Egypt to buy grains and the Bible records that when Joseph sees them, he recognizes them. 

But I hope you note that they didn't recognize him one bit. Do you know why? None of them could have envisioned Joseph wouldn't have died indeed. As in, that's the lot of sold slaves. However, this one is the Lord's. The Lord has need of him. He's saved for a purpose. What's this teaching up to? Teaching and telling you to treat your neighbor like yourself. The reason is because even if distance separates you today, the gap will be closed tomorrow and when it does, those you have suffered, maltreated, abused etc would meet you and recognize you also. Even in the absence of revenge, you still don't want to face such past. The unfortunate part is to bear the sword like Joseph and then seek to trouble you. God can deliver you but you'll sure have some regrets. For this reason, live as testimony in the community of men that you might have clear conscience to say like Samuel, "whose ox have I taken from you? (I Sam. 12:3)."

PRAYER: Lord, I refuse to give to any a negative experience that'll be indelible to them. Only remembered by what we've done. My remembrance is sweet.

CORRECT THAT IMPRESSION NOW!

John 1:19-20, KJV

"19 And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou? 20 And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ".

What would you do if you were mistaken for a great man yet knowing it was a mistake? Will you take it in or confess in truth that you are not he? In the play, The Government Inspector by Nikolai Gogol, a young man was mistaken for the government inspector by some corrupt public officials. Capitalizing on this, he robbed them of their resources as they sought to court his favour and win his approval. Mistakes concerning identity will continue to be made but if you were taken for another, will you confess in truth that you were not he or rather leverage such ignorance and extort men, basking in the honour and esteem that's never yours to take. 

In today's reading, some delegates were sent to enquire after who John is. His ministry is established at this time. People know John and as he's causing wave, people have doubts if he were not the Messiah they were expecting. On that note, a delegate was sent to unravel his identity and bring back report once and for all. 

John is very sincere. He confesses in truth that he's not the Christ - their greatest expectation nor any they might take him for. It would have been to his esteem, honour and glory (though vain glory) if he said he was the Christ. Every eyes would have been turned to him as the Messiah and he would have been magnified than usual. Imagine being the one the books have for long foretold! However, he confesses saying, "I am not the Christ". Despite the fact that this enquiring delegate are sheepish for deception and seek suggesting to John what they thought he might be, John didn't take advantage of any of their suggestions. One subtle way of lying and misdirecting people is by nodding to wrong impressions of people of you. It's as simple as somebody saying, "you graduated with First Class" and not correcting that view when you actually graduated with "Second Class Upper". Because of vain glory or your wanting to enjoy some air of greatness, you might let it slip but that amounts to lying and sinning before God. That is wearing another identity that you are not. It is hypocritical and sick of anyone to do that. It's a revelation of the works of the flesh in manifestation and you must seek today not to take more than it's allocated to you or esteem yourself beyond the measure dealt you. Truth is a great virtue before God. Being truthful reveals your faithfulness. In this manner, you'll be a man of honest report and not one in fear of being uncovered.

The great question the world is asking our individual today is, "who do you call yourself that we might have an answer for those who sent us?" I hope in the process of introducing yourself to them, you wouldn't exaggerate or seek to look too good or great than you are. Don't take on an identity of who you are not or haven't become. It'll attract battles that you as well are not prepared for to you. It is who we are or have become that helps us handle what comes our way in adversity or challenges. Every calling and person has his battle. Imagine John adding Jesus' battles: hatred and rejection from the elders etc to his own. He wouldn't like it. When you become a Jacob coating yourself with animal skin in order to look like Esau and find acceptance, you can't but remain and accept to be lost under that other person's identity lest you're found out. You therefore begin to carry him around and not yourself. On that note, you start a journey different from what God ordained and who God called you. In this way, you can successfully miss your purpose as the voice of one who ought to be crying in the wilderness to becoming the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the whole world. It doesn't take long for hypocrisy to be uncovered. All hidden things shall be brought to light and declared. Never be threatened or bullied to look big or give out a great name of yourself than you are. As for me, I am Olusola ADEJUMO, M'Wings. I am not you or another. I know myself, confesses myself, live myself and fulfill myself. What about you? Are you in another man's skin or you are plainly you?

PRAYER: Lord, save me from all forms of hypocrisy, subtle deceptions and lies. My heart is whole and void of vain glory, inordinate hunger for fame or a great reputation. I bear what You name and call me. Your name is my name.

MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE - Olusola ADEJUMO

THEY ARE VIGOROUS!

Exodus 1:19, NIV

"19 The midwives answered Pharaoh, "Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women; they are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive."

That will happen to you if you're pregnant. It will be your testament. The Hebrew women are Christian women today and we have this written so that we might know that such good experience could become ours also. But beyond confessing that verse as a pregnant woman, you ought know that there's another big responsibility that lies on you as an expecting mother. 

The confession we have documented here isn't from quacks but professionals. You'll nowadays want to call them nurses who help in the delivery of babies. They are certified and have the experience as well. Such job is not what you bring quacks into. It's a matter of life and death and life must superimpose itself on death so that both mother and baby might live after the labour and delivery. It is therefore from such mouths we have the testimony on what vigourousness or let us say exercise can do to/for pregnant women. That confession eventually becomes a recommendation and what preggies should do.

According to that verse, the Hebrew women deliver before the midwives come? They deliver! But delivering before the midwives come isn't just a receiving they attained by doing confession but because of the diligent work they do. Don't forget that Israel (men and women) have become slaves at this period in Egypt. A new Pharaoh who doesn't know Joseph has arisen and is therefore using them like water. He even sets taskmasters over them who makes their lives bitter with all kinds of work. All the children of Israel have their hands on one thing or the other. No idle hand. Some even built treasure houses - Pithom and Rameses for Pharaoh (Exo.1:6-14). So, no one is excluded in this national slavery. Israel is put to work until their sigh begin to escape to God. You see, that's how much Israel (including those pregnant women) have been put to work. 

Now, because they are not lazy, lay about, sitting idle like a bag of rice in a corner all day but bodies that are engaging and have engaged activities to its peak, they arrive at a place where their bodies are trained to yield up whatsoever it has in it when it's its time to be yielded up. Much work and hard labour have given their bodies the vigourousness needed for quick ejection of the baby at its time. They've come to a place where because of being hardworking and having become a hard worker, they even have the natural raw energy to push or labour at delivery time. The word, "vigorous" means physically strong and active. It even means being mentally strong and active. If you see anyone faint at delivery time, he may be one of the lazy types who's not mentally prepared and physically strong or active. He lacks strength to accomplish the task and sees it through. But if she had been engaging work, unconsciously her body would have become sporty and prepared for the diligence of delivery. The diligence of delivery is not what you can short cut. That's why recommendation is being made to preggies at the hospital on the need to exercise or become active and readied for that day. You must know that your general well-being is the well being of that foetus. If you're lively as King James Version puts it, you'll deliver as soon as the labour pangs come. But if you're not, your body won't just open up on time and there'll be many consequences following. May you by yourself be able to deliver and not need to be operated on. May it be that your body will obey and not refuse to let go of what it has kept safely for nine months. The Bible says, "as soon as they hear of me, they obey me..." May you command such obedience when it's delivery time. May your body give way and obey you as soon as the signal to poo the baby out calls. It will not fail. 

So, seek not to be idle. Working or doing ordinary chores exercises you. Don't be indiscipline. Don't because of pregnancy become inactive. Don't suddenly become a sloth. Don't resign from your work except you need rest or a medical expert calls you to it. Just by working: teaching in a classroom, attending to your clients and walking here and there at home, cooking, cleaning and doing chores, you'll really be getting yourself ready for fast, safe and very efficient delivery. Don't be hypocritical and become like those who feed themselves to obesity in months but seek to bring themselves to normalcy at an instance. Readiness is not what you cultivate at an instant. It's a training given to the body by time. While all the pregnant women of Israel didn't intentional plan to be that vigorous, yet their slavery and being under an oppressive rule served them well. The enemy meant it for annihilation but the Bible says, "but the more they afflicted them, the more the children of Israel multiplied and grew" (Exo.1:12). There can't be multiplication of people without safe birth happening. The successfully births recorded by Israel women therefore comes majorly from the fact that they are vigorous, lively, readied and effected to yield whatsoever they hold in them instantly at its season and as soon as nature calls for it. Preggies, emulate this women and put yourself in the zone of life even before that D-Day. I see you returning home and your baby with you.

PRAYER: Lord, I am in the zone of life. I won't cast my young. I shall carry my pregnancy to term and my delivery shall be fast and smooth.
