LISTEN TO HIM

READ Galatians 4:1-15

Matthew 17:5, AMP

"While he was still speaking, behold, a shining cloud [[b]composed of light] overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, This is My Son, My Beloved, with Whom I am [and [c]have always been] delighted. Listen to Him!"

What A will do that will satisfy God's heart isn't what B will do. The specific act may differ. Only that what Christians does to satisfy God's heart and earn His approval generally falls under being obedient and taking heed. For someone like Abraham, he believed God and it was counted unto him for righteousness. The specific act that would delight God and bring reward to you or me is what we don't know but let's in all our endeavours be obedient children.  When we have struck the deep of God's heart, we'll know we've done so because God Himself will raise dust and speak about it. It even shows in new promotions and approval.

The first time a voice like the one above testified of Jesus being God's beloved was at Jesus' baptism. However, God didn't say "listen to Him". That tells you winning of heaven's recommendation is deemed fit by God and comes by and by. As it is occurring to my mind, it's as if God has a panel of divine host that checks with Himself if a Christian or minister has indeed satisfied His heart as to win His approval. Do you remember at creation, God the Father was not only the board member seated and doing it all? God the Son and Holy Spirit were around which reflects in the language used, "come, LET US create man in our own image..." Genesis 1:26.

When you have satisfied God's heart, He'll appear to decide whether you've pass your exams or not. Unless you're tried and you're found to have passed, your word don't come [Psalm 105:19].

"Listen to Him" that God the Father said places a higher degree of approval on Jesus. God is a careful God. He doesn't recommend a minister out in the hearing of others as one they should draw their demands on if the man has not been watched over the years to have a life that backs up what he professes. If he's not a doer of what God says and he preaches, God has no business showing him to the world as a beloved son or daughter that their gathering and obedience should be given to. Of Jesus, it has been afore said that people's gathering shall be unto Him.

Genesis 49:10, AMP

"The scepter or leadership shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until Shiloh [the Messiah, the Peaceful One] comes to Whom it belongs, and to Him shall be the obedience of the people."

How it surprised me that when God wants to commend and compensate Jesus for being a beloved son, it was an instruction to "listen to Him" He gives out. It's a blessing when you're not refuted or rejected as a minister. Whenever a Christian is being refuted and rejected, he ought to find out whether he has first satisfied God's heart. Why did I say that? The Bible says, "when the ways of a man pleases God, He (God) makes even his enemy be at peace with him" [Proverbs 16:7]. So, all the remedy for acceptance is actually in pleasing God. If you can strive and seek to expend yourself to please this Father in heaven, if He turns to you, you'll be surprised at what He may reward you with especially if you're a minister. I guess it may be, "listen to him." After all the "you're my beloved son in whom I am well pleased", if " listen to him" don't follow, that beloved son is still like a heir who's but a child but who's under tutor and governor until the time appointed of the father for him comes. You break loose into the utmost and get trusted with the delivery of bread to others when "listen to him" follows "this is my beloved son".

Those of you that have been longing to hear a voice like this or be promoted from one level to another by the delivering of a letter or news, it seems good to me to announce that your time has come. You will receive the good news and the joy shall be yours to rejoice in.

PRAYER: Any letter of promotion I await, my word comes now in Jesus' name. May my life and living pleases you.

CATCHING IT YOUNG

READ I Kings 3:16-28

I Kings 3:21, KJV

"And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear."

There's a Spirit that helps Christians catch it young. That's the Holy Ghost. As it happens fresh like this, they don't let it tarry but rather fish it out. Two prostitutes housed in the same house gave birth. To worsen their case when presented, no witness knew about all their narration. So, it became difficult fetching out the liar from the truth teller. One claimed the other laid on her own child who died but which she substituted for her own living child. All this drama happened when she was asleep and obviously really asleep. Motherhood stress had beaten her down to the sleep of death. Meanwhile, when she became conscious and had the opportunity to investigate the matter, she immediately found out that the dead child was not hers. She stood on her ground and with all conviction kept refusing the new result they had just shown her. It wasn't like this last night. It can't be like this this morning. This isn't mine!

This woman couldn't be begged. She had to appeal to the king. Staying her hands or doubting whether the dead child is hers or not was settled in a jiffy. A day didn't pass over it. One hour to her being awake to investigate didn't go over the matter. Immediately, she reprimanded the situation and at the end found justice when she retrieved her real child.

Saint, you may be asleep in the night, you may be unconscious, you may be tired or bored and so taken advantage of. After waking, for how long will it take you to discern they've come to pack your goods and then replace it with the pseudo so you'll accept falsehood in place of truth and never come to the knowledge of the truth? This is why I love detectives, force members (intelligent officers) etc. If you enter their room and shift a thing from its position, at their return, they could fish out if that thing was turned or shifted. Their training made it possible. You too need a training to pick accurately. That woman picked the revelation that her child wasn't the dead one by considering him well in the morning light. Everything that is not yours which they've sold you, it is time to make an appeal to the king. It is time to refuse it all. We say NO to it today. I pray for you that nobody will be able to deceive you again. The Spirits (succubus and incubus) sleeping with you free of charge in your sleep will meet with a wall. That spirit will henceforth find you wise. Come to understanding. Regain your reason that the dead child isn't yours. Have the discovery that you have bastards amidst the children in your house yet under disguise that they're yours. See the fake for who he or she is. See the devil pretending to give prophecy in your congregation. At the snap of the fingers, let your memory of what you really possess come to you. Let the veil be torn. The padlock is open and the hook is corrupted.

PRAYER: I come to the knowledge of what is mine which is good and perfect gift while discerning same from pseudo possessions.

EVANGEL OF GOOD TIDINGS

II Kings 7:10, KJV

"So they came and called unto the porter of the city: and they told them, saying, We came to the camp of the Syrians, and, behold, there was no man there, neither voice of man, but horses tied, and asses tied, and the tents as they were."

What do we preach? It is the good news - of all Jesus did to purchase us redemption. The gospel that we preach is however not a far fetched thing for the preacher or that Christian who would preach it must have experienced it first of all. What we preach on another side is therefore who we ourselves have been made in Christ. It is this position we breathe out as invitation to other men who need Him. If you cook a meal and you're called back to teach the cooking of that meal to another, if something is not amiss, he who cooked it the first time should be able to reveal neatly again the process of its cooking. Herein that saying is fulfilled that, "it is what you have you give." It is who you were made at Salvation which you now know that you now call others to. Unless a man has sincerely discovered how impoverished a sinner is (having been a sinner himself previously), he'll likely not preach to others but rather colonize the gospel and make it a pool of water that do not flow though he has been recreated in Christ Jesus. This isn't God's intention as we shall see. On every occasion that a soul is saved, he (the soul saved) owes Jesus an obligation of preaching the gospel to others while they're left to be convicted of their sins by the Holy Spirit. This is where you do unto others like you've been done to. It also reveals your love for your neighbour, for he who is saved and knows the eternal damnation of the unsaved would desire them saved.

The four lepers at Samaria's gate have come upon the abundance that could feed the city. They took their time to joy in this abundance. We were told they ate and then carried off valuables to lay in store for themselves. They first of all became partakers; not sharers. After taking their fill and having a contact with the experience which is akin to the salvation of a Christian, they then call themselves to conference on how needful it is to spread the good tiding of their find. Mind you, their preaching is the good news of the discovered abundance which anyway they've experienced. Not what they saw but didn't partake of. Herein is this scripture fulfilled.

I John 1:3, KJV

"That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ."

If you go to verse one, you'll hear John speaking convincingly that what they share or declare unto others is "that which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life." We know that in reality, Jesus was born and took form of flesh. This gave the disciples ample privilege of relating with him with their senses. What you see with your eyes and grab with your hands, could you be persuaded out of its existence? John was simply saying they contacted Jesus first hand. They experienced Him and same which they've related with is what they declare to others that they may be like them in fellowship so that all of them could fellowship with the Father and the Son.

These lepers also experienced before they declared their find (which became their experience). It is a lighted candle we use to light another. A recreated spirit is only he that is qualified to bear the gospel to sinners. So, if you've not been a partaker of eternal life, you can't be His preacher. That's all those lepers did. They didn't become preachers of what they've not come to its knowledge. Brethren, what God is making you today is an evangel of good news which once upon a time brought you unto salvation - to the knowledge of truth that Christ bore your sins, suffered for you, died for you and then resurrected to give you life. Is it not while we were yet sinners Christ died for us (Rom.5:8)? That's the gospel. Declare same to preach Him and He that rose to live for evermore will save them.

PRAYER: Open my eyes to see my redemption and the consequences of it. May I know the gravity of the damnation of an unsaved soul to preach Him to them.

ACT: Seek to preach the gospel to a soul today.

LEPERS WITH JESUS' MIND

Read Mark 16:15

II Kings 7:9, KJV

"Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king's household."

You remember the Samaria siege. Syria came with all preparation to crumble Samaria from within. The general who led that operation planned it all well down to the latter. His military intelligence was tactical. If not for the Lord's doing which became marvellous or troubling to our sight, Samaria would have surrendered indeed but the Lord held its back from being broken. Where the enemy wants you get, you won't get there because intervention and support would aid you to stand erect on your journey. You'll also remember there were four lepers at the Samaria gate who couldn't go into the city or stay where they've been again. They decided therefore to explore going to the Syrian's camp in the tenor of voice, "if we die, we die." However, they met the tents as they were with horses and asses tied. So, they ate and entered from tent to tent carrying valuables away for safekeeping and investment. After they've eaten (satisfied their temporal need) and have collected rich treasures repeatedly for safe keeping (for the future to come), they came to their senses and say, "what good is selfishness. There's joy in sharing. Today is a day of good tidings." What makes it a day of good tidings? The discovery of all these goodies in famine that no one planned would be available. It would be succor to all if shared. They said we must spread this news abroad. We must tell the king's household for if we delay, a devastation would overtake us.

Brethren, these lepers have the mind of Christ. We've been admonished that this mind should be in us which was in Christ Jesus. We're not talking humility only but love and its expression and all other expression of Christ's nature or the eternal life in you. There are things that are exhibitions of the recreated man. Selfishness isn't part. We know it is what you have you can give. He who doesn't have Christ can't persuade another man to receive Him so. So, they first had to taste of their discovery first of all and having been filled of same said, "now, it must not end here." Selfishness is contradictory to love. Love is no part of the ruling force in Satan's kingdom. The gospel that you have heard, the good tidings or good news which got you born again is not something that you must camp with yourself. No, no, no my friend. That's why I said these lepers have the mind of Christ. They became evangelists of good tidings. They spread their find under the awareness that there's always a repercussion catching up with those who are selfish in life. Selfishness is limiting many people from enjoying real joy. The means of prospering you came across, what profit would you take from it if you hide it from other men on the basis that you never wanted them rise to compete with you? Such people with myopic view may have a repercussion catch up with them later. God's generosity is always pluralized. As he rains on the good, he releases on the unrighteous. He always gives us all things to enjoy. God is calling you to same. He's saying, majorly, "share your find." What's your find? Christ Jesus whom you have found as your Lord and Saviour. Don't forget that the intention thereunto for which God made this lepers stumble on this find first of all is to be able to share its good news with the whole city and break the back of famine in the land. It was never to colonize that find. They must live to fulfill what was said even ahead of their finding the find. Elisha prophesied abundance and if these lepers would become obstinate against being evangels of good tidings, it may please God to raise voices and help from another quarters but they shall not go unpunished. They knew the consequences of not sharing their find. Do you know there are consequences of not spreading the good news. You're being counted upon to fulfill the great commission. Don't withhold. Share your find today! Tell somebody to tell another. You're very important in this process because how can they hear unless there's a preacher. Herein, you don't have to be called into the five fold offices to fulfill this. You're a carrier preacher.  Simply fulfill Acts 1:8 and the mind of Justice shall be satisfied.

PRAYER: You died for me and show me love. Agape you are! May I become agape to others also.

ADDICTED LISTENERS AND READERS

THEY DON'T LISTEN TO/ READ A SERMON ONCE!

I did a very long teaching which I released on our ministry's platforms today. It's not yet on the blog. After that, I wrote this short comment to encourage the brethren to read it and probably read by breaking it into bits. It was while doing that I narrated my experience of being anointed and taught on how to listen to or read sermons.

"You may read them in bits. Please, mind this. They don't read or listen to a particular sermon once.

The more you listen to it or read it, the more you see wonderful things from there. The more the Spirit of the message possesses you. There's a thing like that.

When I got anointed, it was by watching the videos of the teacher God knitted my heart with on campus. I was watching a video titled "Covenant Compliant Life" one day when I found out something coming on me. That ASF Secretariat in TASUED, I used it to the fullest and I thank Sis Kemi Babalola (we're from the same town, home church (though different branches) and same diocese) who would bring me food many times. I love her Amala. Kai, she's a homely woman and we had known each other before I came to meet her in TASUED. We were choristers in our home churches before each of us gained admission.

From then when I teach, there's this appeal my words carry and I'm always persuaded internally that I'm having the attention of people and that I'm on point.

Anointing wets you so that you won't remain a dry preacher. It is rhema that gives life and not logos and until you're anointed, logos won't break loose for rhema to come out.

Until then, you may not see wonderful things from the Bible. So, when you read, read a teaching as many times as possible, things that are happening to you there are uncountable beyond my mention in this short comment.

Also, when you've listened to a sermon before or read a thing before and a part there is reoccurring to you or becoming appealing to you again, go get it and soak it in again.

It is your spirit thirsting for the living Word or awaiting a special encounter in that sermon (which is to be listened to again). It may also be that your spirit, that is human spirit is seeking to reinforce a truth into himself or herself. So, always give heed to learn these operations of the spirit. Summarily, once you have that urge or thirst to revisit, you'll be fulfilling this Psalm.

Psalms 84:1-3, KJV

"1 How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts! 2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.  3 Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God."

THEN, let us consider Psalm 42:1-2.

"1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. 2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?"

Did you see the panting of the soul after God in those two places? The panting of your soul after anointed messages is actually a seeking after God. Unless you listen again, you'll observe you're not contented and the thirst in you not still doused. God allows that thirst to put Himself in the soul of Christians. He uses that same way to call us into fellowship. Prayer and bedroom revival may break up from there. If you go back to read that teaching or listen to that sermon as being prompted, being appealed to, being encouraged or soothed at heart to do, you may not know when the Lord would come on you to give you a teaching to write from there, song to compose from there or a comfort to receive from there. The answer you've been looking for, fasting and praying for may be there. Until we obey, we don't know what would break loose from our obedience. Until Jeremiah trusted to obey God to first rise to go to the potter's house, he never had inkling as to what God would say neither did God speak. You too, when you're prompted to go reread a teaching, search it, ask it and read it again. You don't know how much your obedience would profit you until you obey. Only launchers would inclose a great draught of fishes at the Master's command. The reluctant will remain the same. May you not.

DID DAVID INDEED KILL HIS TEN OF THOUSANDS? - Don't Downgrade Yourself Series 006

Read I Sam. 17

1 Samuel 18:7-8, KJV

"7 And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands. 8 And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands: and what can he have more but the kingdom?"

At the battle against the Philistines, God used David to kill Goliath while the rest of the Philistines turned back when they saw their champion was dead and were pursued by the Israelites' soldiers and killed (I Sam. 17:51).

At the arrival of the soldiers, they were met by women who with their creative ability have composed a song to celebrate the victorious occasion and acknowledge all those that should be acknowledged. In the song, David's and Saul's names were strewn into it with David given the larger share of the conquest. They said, "Saul has defeated his thousands but David, his ten of thousands." Yet, we all know David only killed a fellow - and that's Goliath. Then, where came, "David has killed his ten of thousands if indeed he only killed Goliath?" What you have to quickly understand is this, a leader worth many of his followers. Yea, we're not trying to show unreasonable superiority between those up there and those down here. That's why you and the president of your nation don't receive the same security preference. They're on the look out for him, not you. Consider these places that shows a leader is a multitude of his people (II Sam. 18:3, I Kings 22:21, Matt.26:31).

So, it is now rightly being interpreted if we say that though it was only Goliath that David killed, but because he was a principality, a giant, a great warrior that causes fear in people, a mighty mountain and obstacle that many fear and regard as "can't be confronted let alone defeated", he qualifies being regarded as multitude. Even Saul discouraged David by saying, "he has been a man of war from his youth." That's to tell you how much he was referenced. If that be, it is this importance of who David killed that made the women sing in that manner. Goliath worth ten thousands of the Philistines! That's why when he died and it was verified so by his soldiers, they fled. He was their salvation - in whom they put their trust.

We're on the matter of not exchanging one's honour for stubble like Barak did. God called him to go war against Sisera with a mandate and an assurance of victory but he refused and demanded that Deborah (a woman, whose jurisdiction and specialization isn't warfare as deemed fit by heaven who did the selection) go with him. Deborah was not reluctant to put a proposal on the table that then, the honour would be women's. So it was. Jael, a woman was the one who killed Sisera and in that manner, the men or Barak couldn't have the honour of killing the general unto themselves yet it is the general that matters. I don't care if you kill a million soldiers. We're all on the outlook for who puts the commander to rest. That's the shepherd. Strike him and see the sheep scatter.  Rather, Jael was sung as the one who really won the victory. I'm I making sense at all? Today's teaching is to show you that what any leader protects is the honour. Look at Saul. Though he was reluctant and scared fighting Goliath yet he never played with the honour when the women sung David for having conquered to the uttermost and won the real victory for them. He was discontented. Every man at the home setting without necessarily becoming jealous or envious of their wives must in this way seek to better them. Let's ask ourselves. Indeed, who should ten of thousands be accounted to? It should be Saul. Though it wasn't accounted to him yet he saw the need and regarded it as a violation (anyway he didn't do the job). He said "what else could David not have, to even the Kingdom?". He understood the kingdom is next after such acclamation. That's the zeal that didn't consume Barak when making that deal. He sold the trophy to the female's clique and wasn't troubled. No generation of males would read what he did that would pray for him because he reduced the honour of the office of men.  Wherever you are, seek to win the honour. If God has called you to do it, don't delegate it. He who calls you is always faithful, who also will do it.

PRAYER: Lord, let me be filled with zeal and jealousy to possess what is mine. When others are giving hard work to possess a reward for themselves, may I not be a spectator.

OUR INTERVIEW WITH A FEMALE IN TROUSERS - Don't Downgrade Yourself Series 005

Judges 4:9, KJV

"And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh."

The interview that we had with the once upon Judge, Prophetess of Israel and wife of Sir Lapidoth actually reveals some interesting facts. Under the teaching anointing today, we shall present all to you.

When Sir Barak foolishly, unwittingly, cowardly ensued the partnering of Mrs Deborah in the battle, Mrs Deborah knew this was outside it. She was shocked herself. According to our newsmen, they said, "she was jostled, taken aback and fearfully worried at what manhood has become." For a minute, she watched Barak with mouth agape wondering at his disbelief in God and belief in mere mortal.

According to what our newsmen gathered, they said, Mrs Deborah had wanted to refuse this offer before but for some reasons. They said the reasons were not  spurred by selfishness as some men have accused her of. They said, one, to encourage Barak. It seems he needed a helpmeet or an encourager and who best does that but a female and a wife. Two, she was forced to go on that journey because if she refuses, Barak would believe less or not at all in that prophecy. He'll call it a scam and accuse Deborah of wanting to send him to his untimely death. These were all the reasons that Mrs Deborah gave as to what prompted her into accepting the offer of going to war with Barak. Our newsmen said, accepting to go was no evil but what about snatching the trophy meant for him or the males? Why would she do that? She stammered and had nothing much to say except that, "would God not have compensated her if such was given her?" This still seems invalid to us because we wonder why she who proclaims herself a wife at home won't seek the greatness of men since she has someone over her at home. Should we say Mrs Deborah Lapidoth has been lording it over Sir Lapidoth at home and same is now happening with Barak? She was accused of not helping men to become proper men they should be. If Barak didn't know how to be one, couldn't she open to him the consequences of not doing the job outrightly. Note it, don't take another man's honour, trophy or reward. Exercise all fairness and let your righteousness exceed that of the Pharisees and Sadducees so you don't wake to live with guilt when you're confronted or at your receiving understanding personally. We should not become Jacobs who are opportunists and capitalized on the disadvantages of others. Wealth gotten by such means is ill and it's very much unsatisfactory. It makes you enemies also as you make the other person appear as a fool.

PRAYER: Lord, my righteousness exceeds that of the Pharisees and Seduces.
