WHEN YOU'RE INQUIRED TO YIELD THE DAINTIES OF YOUR MINISTRY - Helpmeet Series 004

Read Acts 15:1-33

Acts 15:19-20, KJV

"19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God: 20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood."

A time would come that you'll be required to yield the dainties of what you say you're given to. What you're given to is what you're a rabbi in. You can't be repeatedly given to a thing and not mature in it until you're graduated into a master. We read of Asher who yields his royal dainties.

Genesis 49:20, KJV

"Out of Asher his bread shall be fat, and he shall yield royal dainties."

You must be known for something and that's what you produce!

There are things that are the products of our diligence, persistence, mastery or having given ourselves to things like prayer and the ministry of the Word. Many ministries anyway there be! A time would come I say when what we say we do and have given ourselves to would be sought and needed to be benefited from. That day must prove your day if indeed you've given yourself to it.

In today's reading, Paul and Barnabas were sent by the church at Antioch to find out what's acceptable for the church in Antioch to believe amidst the flying around teaching in town that "if you're not circumcised after the manner of Moses, you can't be saved (v.1). This school even when disputed with by Paul and Barnabas (v.2) rather leaves the brethren in  confusion of which to really believe, uphold and practice. For these reasons were Paul and Barnabas sent back to Jerusalem to find out from the source - men Jesus directly discipled and gave the ministry of prayer and the Word (to feed His lamb) to which to believe of the two being said.

The response of the apostles or what is called the Jerusalem Council immediately proves that indeed, when the apostles said they'll give themselves to the ministry of the Word and prayer in Acts 6, they indeed did same. It isn't that they went to sleep. The reward of having laboured at a particular time is to be able to enter rest another time. That proves for the apostles. When the matter was tendered, though some amidst them who are of the Pharisees contended it yet Peter wasted no time on the need "not to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither their fathers nor them were able to bear? (Acts 15:7-11)." These Pharisees only wanted the Jews to be as they are but there's a cultural difference. Circumcision came prior to the law and that was at Abraham's time. It's a step to being God's people. But, should that still count now even for the salvation of the Gentiles? Peter and James gave the right answers which consequently is having effect on those of us who are Gentiles today. Immediately, it shows some people have been gazing into the perfect law of God than others or are more yielding to the Spirit.

Later on, James speaks more authoritatively on the matter. Like a judge called to give the final verdict, he says, "and this is my sentence..." Imagine that! Who gives a sentence that he's not sure of? Who gives a sentence or declare a conclusion/resolution over what he has not first thought about and allow the Holy Spirit to minister to him on? So, when James says, "and this is my sentence" and vomited same, we're immediately hinted what good it does one to have being committed to his ministry. It'll allow you to answer a long or tough question in brief moment to the awe of all. You'll make tactical decisions under God easily. It'll make you have a ready answer at hand for anyone and everyone who request of you the hope in you.

Indeed, when the brethren agreed to what Peter and James said and author a letter to that effect, when read, the entire church rejoiced and found consolation in it. Did you see how quick the confused and some who might have heeded that doctrine were quickly recovered? That's because some didn't leave the ministry of the Word to serve tables. If they have left or have ran both together, their profit wouldn't have been this revealed for all to see.

You see, someone will one day benefit from the fact that you have ample time to pray until you have assurance of prayer that your own prayer always command answers even if they are muttered. So, when we should give (without holding back ourselves) to what would make our usefulness experienced, let us. What you have time for is what you can sharpen and take to its topmost height of usefulness and calling.

PRAYER: Lord, I clear myself of distraction to be taught of the Holy Ghost as I study the Bible.

WHAT THEY CALL MINISTRY! - Helpmeet Series 003

Acts 6:3-4, KJV

"3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. 4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word."

What's the response of the apostles to the need for fair distribution between the Grecians and the Hebrews? Their response isn't that it's no matter but that, "they've been given, lent, sold out already to a cause." It is this saying that announces their unavailability to take the other role being availed them by opportunity.

Let me ask, "what is ministry?" I'll say "it's something to give oneself to." In responding to their need and satisfactorily answering them, they said, "look ye out for seven men...but we'll give ourselves to prayer and the ministry of the word." So, the preaching (and consequently the teaching of the word) is a ministry? Whoa! Wow! What an opening! So, it's a thing to give oneself to? So, it's a thing to be sold out totally to? So, it's a thing to make one's life? So, it's a thing serious enough as to collect one's whole time? I'll say it is. It's this discovery of having being occupied and consumed without remnant or availability that made the apostles say, "look ye out for seven men...but we'll give ourselves to prayer and the ministry of the word." Off course, they'll give themselves to prayer and the ministry of the Word which ahead of time they've had the practice of giving and dedicating themselves to. Meanwhile, this fresh saying is just to serve as a commitment to a fresh proposal and a solver of doubt if queried as to what they'll be spending their time on. No wonder, the Bible says some elders are worthy of double honour.

I Timothy 5:17, KJV

"Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine."

Would it say they are if the ministry of the word is not something you give yourself to and yet something that swallows and occupies wholly its host and his time? We all know whatsover we give ourselves to is what will use us and our time the most (and the best). If that be, the Bible declares that they are worthy of double honour for having laboured in the Word. Searching the scriptures by reading, studying or researching for correctness and alignment in order to order men's lives is hardwork and sure a thing that could collect your whole time and life.

Only few ever knows what it wholly means to labour in the Word and doctrine. And then, only very few knows what it means to labour in doctrine (though they know what it means to labor in the Word). When you labour in the doctrine, you first labour to search out what has been spoken out of the mouth of one and then affirmed by another (making two) or more witnesses as fit for practice and whole to order living. It can't become a belief or tenet if we can't at least trace it to two or more places in the Bible. After setting this forth, then you contend for it that it is retained by often teaching it, desiring and having men to do it because God by his repetition of it and giving it to us sees it fit that by it we live our lives by afore recommending same. The hardest part of that is seeing men do it as one generation goes and another comes. Some changes and U-turn may want to be effected to it but it becomes the sole responsibility of those "elders" who are called to labour in the word and doctrine - (what men may live and pattern their lives by) to continually teach and repeatedly teach it in order to align the path of the strayed as they also rebuke false teachers and setter forth of false doctrines. This is where contention for faith comes in (Jude 1:3).

Also, they were to give themselves to prayer like Anna who dedicated herself to prayer and fasting (Lk.2:37). When you give yourself to prayer, you pray it without ceasing. You take it as a profession. If not, the apostles won't be able to build shield and hedge in the spirit round the flock the Holy Ghost made them overseer over. You'll just begin to hear that Brother A died and sister B is kidnapped and then without recovery. The devil will just be playing games on their soccer field but once prayer becomes their profession and ministry also, they'll purchase lives with it and the centre would hold. When Peter was kept in prison but prayer was made without ceasing for him typifies making prayer a profession or work. It's at that level you'll have some breakthroughs that only making prayer a profession could have delivered (Acts 12:5).

Imagine such hardwork. Would you not have the disciples not becoming servers with this? If they do, would they have the time to pray, search and research the Bible for truth and doctrine to be set forth for practice. Won't men rather gain say over them and many souls be lost to false doctrine because of their neglect? They'll rather be held accountable by God for giving ground for false teachers to rise in the absence of truth and have their flock. Being masters, they'll not have been excused but rather judged with a stricter standard indeed. God would not have understood them at all neither would they have heard, "welcome o faithful servant into your reward."

I ask you once more, if they had given themselves to serving tables, where would they get the ample time to find out truth to teach and time to pray? How will they know the biblical way to settle a dispute and when to indeed leave a man to himself? How, if not by studying to find out? How will they know this and many more? It's to have time for this prayer and the ministry of the Word that made it a necessity having deputies - the chosen seven. So, we thank God for those who relieved our apostles of their burdens as to be able to hold the centre of the calling. Thank you deputies! You're making it happen.

PRAYER: Lord, restore the vision of lead men that are lost. Call them to priority. Give them intercessors and good deputies.

THANK GOD FOR DEPUTIES! - Helpmeet Series 002

Read Acts 6:1-7

Acts 6:2, KJV

"Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables."

Today, God wants us thank Him for all deputies. Today, I'm thanking God for deputies. Yes, for having being privileged to serve in many capacities in the ministry and outside it as a deputy, I say thank you Lord. Also, for any who was my assistant, who's my assistant and would be my assistant, I glorify God on your behalf.

The roles of deputies are important. If you don't know, it's not easy taking orders or act on the instructions of others. So, if you have any deputy there (irrespective of their field of practice), you ought pray for them and open your treasure to specially appreciate them. Oh Lord, we thank you for deputies. All deputies who are serving in their different capacities.

In today's reading, a matter that could break ministry which has to do with discrimination is brought to the apostles. They'll have it attended to. Meanwhile, they deem it fit not to leave God's Word to serving tables. They refuse to be lured and distracted away. There's a priority attached to God's Word and the teaching of it. They are the ones Jesus commanded to "feed His lamb." It becomes their responsibility and everything must be cleared out of the way that could jeopardize this responsibility and their discharge of the Word of God. They'll rather advise one thing. "Let's get deputies!"

Acts 6:3, KJV

"Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business."

Did you read, "seven men of honest report...whom we may appoint over this business?" Let's ask, "who will do the appointing?" That tells you into whose hands the work is custodied. When that complaint is brought, the disciples are immediately saddled with a new responsibility of seeing to the fair distribution of food. Meanwhile after a search, they resolve it wise to hand this over to specific people so that they might be able to discharge their primary duties unhindered. Why do we have to thank God for deputies? Because they bear burdens with the lead man. The deacons that are chosen here relieve the apostles at the centre of their work. It's their work which is why they seek to "appoint men over it." While the seven were drew from the pool of disciples and fetched by the brethren, yet it isn't without the acknowledgement of the apostles - for they laid hands on them. By accepting to serve in the capacity of a deacon, they relieve them and gave them ample time to be able to look into the perfect law of God and as well give attention to prayer. We should be grateful to any accepting responsibility on our behalf so we can do ours maximally unhindered. If you're a mother, you should appreciate your baby minder for this. They are your deputies. Any who's doing your job for you yet in your zeal and jealousy is indeed worthy of your applause. Be mindful that when the apostles need deputies, it's because there's an overflow of job which they can't annex with theirs, else they'll risk ineffectiveness. Not only that would have been a consequence but many strange doctrines and teachings would have developed once the apostles don't have time to author what Jesus taught and God would have men believe and be instructed by. People would just begin to be their own judge and do as they deem fit. These are all the dangers that proceed from leaving the Word to serving tables. Anybody could propound anything and it'll hold since where people expect to hear and be ordered from has been jettisoned. It's this that brings about the delegation of duty to capable and qualified hands they have sought. If not for these seven deacons, what time would the disciples have to study the Word of God, teach it and instruct from the centre what must be practiced as taught them by Jesus Christ, our Saviour.

Oh, today, we're remembering and blessing God for Brothers Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch who were found to accept responsibility as deputies thereby freeing the time of the apostles to attend to the Word by which men are instructed and by which we now have the apostolic foundation. Thank you to you and your likes. Your labour of love can't go unrewarded because God is not unjust as to forget it. In that you've ministered and you're still ministering to the saints, God shall strengthen, anoint and enable you for more. Your physical needs shall be met and your days shall be a manifestation of long life and God's salvation on earth. Thank you deputies!

PRAYER: Pray that God will make you a helpmeet (a deputy) to any in need. Pray for all deputies to be more encouraged and truly esteemed.

WHO WILL I DEPUTIZE TO? - Helpmate Series 001

Read II Samuel 15:1-6

2 Samuel 15:3-4, KJV

"3 And Absalom said unto him, See, thy matters are good and right; but there is no man deputed of the king to hear thee. 4 Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which hath any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice!"

It's a blessing to have who to deputize to. I found out that the complex world has called for a complex man yet no man is ever complex as to take more than he should take. Except he will break down or take more than he can swallow until his inefficiency is revealed to all to see, no one will therefore dare going beyond their breaking point. For indeed, there's a 'lawful breaking point' for all creatures where if they stretch or stress themselves, they might be extincted or bring the reputation of inefficiency on themselves. You should seek not to exercise or stress yourself beyond this breaking point. This is no message to condone laziness but rather a teaching on how to save, conserve and utilize humanity (in their concentration and field) to the highest - so they could ever be useful to themselves, world and be ever remembered to have lived a landmark life. Nobody ever lives a landmark life where he doesn't have time to service. It's your dedication to it that'll make you be the rare producer or revealer of what your world would celebrate. So, you need men to ease you of other things that are important but could become distraction to you when it's your work time. A woman may have a baby but necessity may bear on her to let nannies take responsibility on her behalf for the fulfilment of certain obligations. It doesn't mean she'll forever be an absentee mother. It's always for a meanwhile.

When a fellow marries, he immediately has one to deputize to. A bachelor who does cooking before may not do so often but rather begin to use that time being saved by his wife for other things that could profit their family. It may be spent on more reading, studying and work (of career or calling). The wife is assured that she's not being cheated and made a slave of anywhere because it isn't that the husband is idle with the time being saved for him. She knows that any prosperity from the calling or career the man is pouring himself to and has ample time to give himself to (because she's accepting some responsibility for him) would be both theirs to benefit. In this way, there won't be fear or any railing accusation that, "I am working but you're watching. Monkey dey work, baboon dey chop."

It's therefore a great blessing if you have someone to deputize to. They'll help your life and elongate it for you. They'll ensure you're effective on what you should stay on because you're not taking on too much that'll reduce your effectiveness. Why many ministers or career people suddenly collapse, fall sick or die is because they overwork themselves or take more than they should. You're not made of steel and so should know your extent. While laziness should be frowned at, yet you must learn how to save, conserve and preserve yourself so that on what you're allocated or given to, you may be efficient and not suffer reduction in efficiency because you've spread yourself so thin to every place and everywhere. I'll rebuke laziness for it's written that "cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood" especially in the ministry. Yet I'll encourage a total release of each of us to what we say God sent us here for.

I believe there's a thing called calling. It becomes your "specialization" once found. It's what you have found to do for life. Ensure your greatest time is saved and used for that. So, it's good if you find others to accept responsibility for you in other areas outside that so your benefit could be revealed to all men while doing that calling. The Bible admonishes us to give diligence to make our calling and election sure (II Pet.1:10). On what are you called to give diligence? On what you've found to be your life's job. If you ever know what diligence is, you'll agree it's hardwork, focus, concentration and sacrifice. It also means spending one's best time and effort on that thing and in that thing. So, I ask, where will one find time for other 'trivial' things except you have someone to accept responsibility for you there? While this has made some push all their responsibilities on people because they are seeking to fulfill a side, yet we shouldn't be like the unturned cake (Hosea 7:8). I'll never neglect child training because of my calling. While my wife may be available more than I do (save me by being my representative to them where I can't extend at a definite time), yet it won't be because of my inattention they'll be turned to become debauched children. Paul says this to Timothy.

I Timothy 4:15, KJV

"Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all."

It means your profiting may not appear to all unless you give yourself wholly to your calling too. And how can you give yourself wholly, fully, completely (in hundred percent so to say) to your calling if not to find men to cover you and accept responsibility for you so that you might concentrate and work on your calling - what the world would know you with? May you always find deputies when it matters!

PRAYER: Lord, may I be a good deputy where I serve and a succourer of many.

AND WHEN HE HAD SPENT ALL - Violator Series 006

Luke 15:14, KJV

"And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want."

"And when he had spent all", the Bible records concerning the prodigal son, "there arise a mighty famine in that land." Poverty or need feasts on lack and continuous lack.

Money or resources is the fuel that the natural man survives on. Our transaction in this world is based on the money you have and the goods you could exchange with it. There are so many earth goodies that could lure your money away from you. That happens to the prodigal son until it's said of him to have spent all. My concern is that he forgets tomorrow. God is however very concerned with your remembering that living continues after today. Many times, we humans do comfortably hope that "as it has been is how it'll be. If I have, I'll always have." No law assures that if you're foolish with what you have currently. No two season is the same also. The truth is that you should ever be anticipating the future. This is what makes the wise to give thought to the carrying of extra oil. It's not every time that extra oil would be needed because the bridegroom might not always delay everytime but you should ask, "what if he does?" It's this "unforseen contingency" which could be unleashed on the world in form of sack, accident, inflation e.t.c. that should make you arm yourself with an extra oil and take caution on how you admnister your resources.

When the "bridegroom" tarries somewhere one time, the foolish virgins couldn't help it any longer. Since salary has delay to drop at its usual time, they're already spent and needed help (Matthew 25:5,8). Their not having prepared ahead of time by anticipating what time could come on them made them go in search of oil at the late hour. While it's necessary to help yet the wise won't share their own resources with them because they yet don't know if it'll be sufficient for both of them.

Matthew 25:9, KJV

"But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves."

And I'll say, the future I can't predict, I won't live it boastfully or carelessly. It also sounds wise to minimize the casualty if there'll be any at all instead of rendering everybody a victim of a bad decision or lack of foresight that there might be delay. Until you have an assurance that what you have with you would take you through, don't freely disburse. Herein is not where to live by faith because you afore time didn't earn same by faith and if you do, you're not under obligation to throw it away. Unless you're constrained by the Holy Ghost, you don't have to sacrificially give. The woman of Zarephath gave to Elijah when he said, "make me first." Though it was her last meal, she made first for Elijah because of the heart pulling she might have had. There's a propelling and an assurance that she had that this would be a worthy sowing (that would yield a return). Did God not afore tell Elijah that he'll send him to Zarephath where he has commanded a widow woman to sustain him (I Kings 17:9). So, you should ask, "when did God command this woman to open up to Elijah." And I hope you know what a command is. A command is a decree. It's forceful and lives you with no obligation. That's the voice this woman heard before acting despite knowing, "that's her last meal." Now, let me ask you, "having known what you have could only be sufficient for you, why should you make for another when you're not being instructed." That ain't that you're stingy or that you've sinned if you couldn't accommodate a neighbour. God will look pass your action to seeing the purpose of it. You don't want to be stranded. Why each is told to prepare for his own house is so that each would survive on their own but if there's need to lean on another, you should bear that they're not under obligation except they're commanded or naturally deems it fit. So, I'll say stop giving emotionally. Somebody could have defrauded me if I were looking at his look and outlook to determining giving to him. Rather, submit to being led. The Holy Ghost knows where needs are and those who have needs. He'll lead you to give to those places as Jesus would have things administrated. Some who were being restrained from giving have also gave where they shouldn't and so begin to witness mix ups that are only the works of the devil.

The record is, "and when he had spent all..." When and how did he get here? It's actually a long process down the line but eventually he got there because of continuous spending. Let's not ask what he spends money on. As long as it isn't what could generate him more resources, he had wasted it all. If he bought a thing that's good, not criminal or sinful to own but yet couldn't put it to work at such hard time, then he didn't spend well. Those that'll be in want or those that'll begin to cry out to others to help meet their needs are those who have spent all and have no choice but to seek the hands of others. Meanwhile, by being a discrete manager of resources, by sending money where he should go and by reproducing it, you can continually wax valiant in "fight" and not have the testimony to have run down before the  appointed time. Those who will survive the financial armageddon or famine on the way are those who haven't spent all but have a witness against that day.

PRAYER: Teach me to reserve, invest and reproduce some.

YOU HAVE! - Violator Series 004

Read Luke 15:1-12

Luke 15:12, KJV

"And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living."

Today, the Lord is heavy on me. I'm currently experiencing Him and He's only saying one thing through my mouth and that's that, "you have." God is advocating through my mouth and shutting the mouths of many who might, are or will soon accuse Him of "not having or having been given." If you say, "you don't have", it means, "God hasn't given." However, God is hollering that you have because "you've been given."

The younger son of the father here does not step out empty. He is empowered. At his request, he is kindly furnished and filled to the brim. His ask is, "father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me." And he was given because we have report that the father, "divided unto them his living."

This boy has enough sense to know that there's a portion of goods that falls to him. If his ask was incorrect, the father wouldn't have honoured his ask. And then, the Lord spoke to me. He said, "there's a portion of Me and my things that fall for individuals and I've given it to them." The Bible says , "the LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage (Psalms 16:5-6, KJV).

At your coming here (to the earth), God took time to dress and load you with some provision. It may manifest as calling or gifts. It's not physical food but it can ever supply you food. God is saying, "for your journey and living on earth", you're never without a comforter for your journey. You have it in you or with you. Discover it. He's saying, "I have given you bread. I created bread with you. If you'll pull on your calling and gifts and let them so shine before men, so much more that men would see it and give glory to your Father who's in heaven (while their needs are being met), in no time, you shall see the physical provision that are children of this original and intentional deposit of God. Your gift or calling shall be acknowledged and you'll never come to begin to be in want.

Some are also shouting and disputing a fact with God. They're saying, my lot is not good." It may be because you don't know your lot or the fullness of time hasn't come for you to break into your lot by discovery and knowledgeable rising (that can't be contested). So, it looks like you don't have. But did the Bible not says, "the lines have fallen to you in pleasant places and that you have a good heritage." Look, God has filled you. You're full on this journey with goods that good. You're so loaded that if you were tossed, you'll land and bounce. Much of God is in you. Don't waste this resources. I heard they've been there awaiting an unlocking and an unleashing so that you yourself might be satisfied - have a sense of fulfilment and live well. May you see all that's your provision. May you see that your inside is full of them, that your mountain is full of them and that provision, endowment (sparkling) surrounds you about waiting for exploration and what you'll use them to do.

PRAYER: May I come to the discovery of my gift and calling. I confess, "I'm full of them."

ONCE FULL BUT NOW EMPTY - Violator Series 003

Read Ruth 1

Ruth 1:20-21, KJV

"20 And she said unto them, Call me not Naomi, call me Mara: for the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me. 21 I went out full, and the LORD hath brought me home again empty: why then call ye me Naomi, seeing the LORD hath testified against me, and the Almighty hath afflicted me?"

Once people begin to suffer the consequences of their actions, they do seek to deflect or deny being the causes at times. Who dealt bitterly with Naomi? God? Or it was the vulnerable steps they took that gave them over to the devil? Watch your steps this year as you go. You can travel wherever for residence, business e.t.c. but discern when and where not to travel.

A reading of Ruth 1 reveals how the family of Naomi went out in words that could be described as, "nothing missing and nothing broken." All of them were healthy, intact, robust and filled with hope at their setting out. More importantly, none diminished amidst them. At their numbering while launching out, they were all complete. Elimelech, Naomi, Mahlon and Chilion all went out as a pack and in a pack. This is the full squad that Naomi speaks about but which she has failed to take responsibility for after it was broken. Where bread is; security and salvation may not be there for you. No land is fully promising except where God locates you or tells you to stay (even if it were a war zone). If God is against you and you go and find your base in a barracks, you'll still perish.

Naomi testified, "we went out full - nothing missing, nothing broken." We were a squad but here I am. I'm the only survivor. While today I'm believing the survivor anointing of Naomi would hit you, yet I'll desire you never join the move the Lord has not ordained. If it's only the day the Lord has made we could rejoice and be glad in it, it means, it's only such journey ordained by the Lord that could be benefited from fully.

Naomi went out full but came back empty. Naomi was given a company. Naomi was not alone. She has a people her heart could safely trust in. I mean, hers. But later, she lost all and was emptied. May you not go on the journey of deception. Do you know what the journey of deception is? It's a journey that'll look bright before your departure but inwardly is like the ravenous wolf in sheep clothing. It'll eventually harm and wreck you. So, while it's good to take opportunities, don't take opportunities after the vision of men. While a fish is harbouring a coin for Peter and Jesus' uses  yet a fish swallows a whole human up. What's blessing to some is the curse of some. Any who goes on their own journey always end being swallowed up like Jonah. They might have experienced gloom even if they'll finally know God's salvation. But if you'll be commissioned, what should swallow you would vomit you bread to eat. You'll live life abundantly.

Naomi's story and life experience reveals again the reality of starting out full but wasted and finished on the way. However, you can learn how to remain, endure with all you are and have by being dictated to by the Spirit. Let people see your body move and mistaken your moves for ordinary moves because they are not there when you were commissioned. That's the better journey. All who goes on them goes in full and comes back fuller. They won't go back as Christians and return as atheists. They won't go out as righteous ones and return with perversions. May you always go out in full and return fuller. May your energy not be sapped as you go out daily. And at arrival back home later in the day, may it be good news you'll bring, hear and contact. May you not record losses. Yes, any sort of losses. I cancel them. May you not business in the morning and be in debt later in the day. You're the spared. May you always experience God's move, a pull in your heart and a reluctance of your feet over all deceptive journeys.

PRAYER: I shall not go on any journey of deception this year. I shall not go out full and incur losses. I shall be fuller.

MAXIMIZING YOUR FEEDING - Violator Series 002

Read I Kings 19:1-8

I Kings 19:7-8, KJV

"7 And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee. 8 And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God."

Did you know Elijah is invested in just like the prodigal son is invested in? The prodigal son met his dad and said, "father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me" and then we have report that his father divided him. Also, after the Mount Carmel contest and cleansing, Elijah fled having being threatened by Jezebel. In Gloom, darkness and great tiredness, he sleeps. He even requests that he dies. It seems to have reached its apex.

At this time, an angel wakes him up and offers him food and water. He eats and goes back to sleep. Again, the angel does same but with a warning or encouragement that he should wake and eat because, "the journey is too great for him!" Isn't that shocking? What could be coming that's too great for Elijah that heaven had seen which necessitates his being fed repeatedly and invested in again? The answer is in the next verse.

I Kings 19:8, KJV

"And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God."

That's what brought that encouragement and if you might say warning that he should tidy up and eat because the journey would be too great for him. Imagine somebody trekking to a destination and that for forty days and forty nights. How far is that place? How tedious is that journey? It tells me, God works in our present based on what he has seen in our future. He anticipates the future for us and he wants us to have been concretized to contain it. So, that double investment is to sustain Elijah so he won't faint or die before reaching destination. And we have a testimony that, "he went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights unto Horeb, the mount of God." He didn't disappoint expectation. He didn't fall by the way side or die in that process. He reached destination. He maximized and fulfilled the reason for his doubly feeding. But what do we have to say about the prodigal son who goes on a journey and is invested seriously in before departure yet finished before what he should use the investment to confront came. We read that, "and when he had spent all, a mighty famine arose and he began to be in want (Luke 15:14, KJV). He had finished before the fight and real journey began. That investment he left home with ought to be his defence against that famine but since he left home without any counsel or anticipation of a future to come, he squandered all only to begin to be shown pepper.

You see, if you see ahead and know there'll be hard times, you could take caution, act differently and do something that others might even mock because they're not yet seeing the reason for such anticipation. Elijah was told to rise and eat because the journey is too great for him. They hinted him of a danger ahead. So, Elijah ate. He had a choice of not eating or eating sparingly but Elijah fed on that food indeed. He filled himself with bread. Yet, all he heard was that "the journey would be too great for him." He never knew neither was he told it would take forty days until he had undertaken it. God corresponds Elijah with his journey. God will come for everyone like this. Just ensure when you're being warned to "wake and act somehow", you do because that may be your salvation for the future. The disobedient will suffer in the nearest future.

I pray that you'll fulfill the reason for your being loaded, beloved and fed. Even if the journey of a month would last forty days, it won't be you that'll be looking for money to borrow before the month ends and another comes at its scheduled time to come. What you have will engulf you and be sufficient to take care of the duration and the season you'll enter into.

PRAYER: Lord, equal me with the season to come on me. Hint me of the future and what preparation to enter with.

YOU MAY BEGIN TO BE IN WANT - Violator Series 001

Read Luke 15:11-14

Luke 15:14, KJV

"And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want."

The truth is that you can actually begin to be in want. You may set out being full but you might have been emptied and so much spent that you arrive at a place (where you shouldn't have gotten to) where you begin to be "in want."

God may not intend that you run down or descend to the valley of want or need but that's not dependent on God but you. Today, my Father - the One who anointed my head with oil and consequently makes my cup run over wants me ask you how good an economic manager you are. God told me, "I will do mine and I have done mine for many people. I will give you this life's investment at a season. Line will fall in place for you in good places and you'll have a good heritage or inheritance. What will be divided you will be tangibilities. You'll have gathered something. I'll indeed make you a caretaker of something." If you read today's passage, you'll see that the father in that parable who's God invested portions to his two sons. It only seems obvious he gave to one but it was his two sons he gave to. However, the Bible recorded that 'last-last' or at the end that the travelling boy began to be in need.

The question should be "how, why, what road led him there?" Is this not the boy who started out full? Is he not the fellow that asked the father for his portion and was divided his? This was the young man who while leaving home left with much more than he could ever spend or use. So, what could have gone amiss and why did we have an unfortunate report about him that, "and he began to be in want." Though he has been made a financial manager who custodies millions, yet he came to that concluded end and did so hurriedly because he lived riotously. There's a way that seems right to one but whose end is destruction. There's a way to live and a way not to live. Either way you live is living to work some principles or laws that can't but see you to a conclusion - good or bad.  The way this young man chose to live quickly descended and lowered him down to poverty. Hear what the Bible testifies about him.

Luke 15:13, KJV

"And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living."

"and WHERE wasted his substance with riotous living?" And there (the far country he had travelled to) wasted his substance with riotous living. What ended him and let him down isn't that he was not bestowed with ensuring wealth. He was well bestowed and furnished for the journey and any life he might chooses to live thereafter. What ended him was that, "he was not a good economic manager." He spent riotously. He spent as a spendthrift. He spent with the notion, "it'll always reproduce itself and I'll always have another" This ain't strategic sowing or investment he did that would have made him see his meat upon the waters even after many days. This is spending on harlots and pretending friends who get attracted because of his vast wealth. That's why after he has made an end of spending all he set out with, he was left alone. If they were right friends, they'll raise him up. But he was left to raise himself up.

Brethren, don't complain of ever going down or ending like this waster if when you're in your abundant season, you take no thought on how to commission money to serve you for the days you don't yet know. If you're an eat-it-all like this prodigal son, even if you've been invested with much, you may soon feel empty, run on low battery economically and begin to be in want. "To begin to be in want" is just to have begun to taste poverty. I pray for you that God will open your reason and make you understand dangers of riotous living so that you'll be jolted out of wastage and consequences of wastage.

PRAYER: I receive a fresh baptism and skillfulness in wealth management and administration.

THE SUFFERING OF ROUNDED STONES

Read Galatians 5:19-23

I Samuel 17:40, KJV

"And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine."

These rounded stones were not at first rounded. They didn't have a beginning of smoothness. They were all jagged and rough edged. Their reputation and antecedent contradicts whatsover you see and now know of them. But, how did they become smooth? How did they turn into such Christians that any hand and sight could choose to send on an errand of appointment anytime without fear of disappoinment or disgrace?

These stones when they were cut into the brook began as rough edged unruly stones. They're not stones you'll covet to handpick but as they were transported and carried here and there on a long journey of swimming in the brook, they began to be smoothened. As they hit, rub and grind other stones, all their rough edges began to disappear because they're beginning to be beaten into fine stones. It's then any who sees them found them attractive to pick. But their smoothening process wasn't easy. You'll agree it takes patience and obedience in developing character in anyone. You might even think these stones have never had an antecedent of roughness before due to how they appear now in beauty. Until you hear their testimonies, you don't fear or empathize with how much they've been through before becoming rounded stones that attract men.

You see, on our Christian journey, we're promised and could have the destination of the rounded stones but we all began being rough edged, rebellious sinners. Then, we were converted. It was at that point our journey of smoothness began. As we were discipled, as we renewed out minds daily; we began to shed the much weight of sin and unrighteousness we have accumulated and trained ourselves in. Discipleship purged us. Though we didn't find it funny yet as we related with God and the saints, we learnt what's the acceptable will of God to practice and now, here we are. We've made an arrival. There's no Christian who will behold or relate with us who won't desire to be in our company. They call us sweet and gracious Christians. We're useful for the kingdom and valuable to the society. Like Dorcas, we've been succourers of many as our secret works testify (Acts 9:36,39). But they might not know that we were once rough stones - full of selfishness, lust, rivalry, envy and all works of the flesh. Now, we only sparkle the fruits of the spirit.

Mature Christians are interesting to have or relate with but they never began as graceful Christians. They began as stones anyone would bypass and wouldn't want to have to do. But now, they have a new testimony. If you ever have around you as a leader people who are not yet filled with Christian virtues, don't be tired working on them. They shall arrive at a place where they'll become your joy and God's. They shall arrive where you won't have any fear or shame presenting them. They'll be the choice amidst many others for assignments and missions. But before they'll find usefulness in the hands of David and appearance outside their quarry, they must have been tiredlessly worked on to earn a new name.

PRAYER: Lord, fine tune me. Give me the forbearance to let patience have its full effect on me as You work on me.

THEY HAVE THEIR REWARD!

Matthew 6:5-6, KJV

"5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."

May this voice not speak to you. Jesus says, "they have their reward." One might take it for a good reward but that reward isn't what any God seeker should have.

Have you come to seek God or you have come for a demonstration? It is the work of the flesh urging you on to make a show, scene or scenario with your prayer life so that men might notice you. Some people in Jesus' days even took it further. They prayed in strategic places of concourse as to be noticed of men to pray. I mean, they prayed for recognition of men. At that point, Jesus vomits to them an immediate response, "they have their reward." What they're looking for is what they have found but this has hindered them from ever being a partaker in the blessing of any who prays and prays through.

This reward Jesus talks about isn't what they'll have but what they immediately have as soon as they have become hypocritical. It's like a programming that gives result as soon as it's operated. They are immediately judged for being hypocrites in prayer. You remember I Timothy 5:24 says, "some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after." These men's are open before hand. They're immediately judged. Those whose sins shall manifest immediately are those who have come with an intention of earning men's recognition. Your judgement is that, "you have your reward already." It is not what you'll hear later or tomorrow. It's a voice rebuking you immediately and seeking your amelioration.

If this is your judgement, God is trying to wean you from any further expectation of answered prayers. He's preparing your mind not to think of impressing men at His expense yet with an expectation of blessing from Him. No! You have your reward already. You're not different from that man that was told not to expect anything in prayer if he doubts.

James 1:6-7, KJV

"6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord."

Why? Because he has faulted the process by doubting. You, you have faulted the process by being hypocritical in prayer. So, don't still be caught in any deception of yourself that God is merciful. On this, you're judged already. What ought to be made to God primarily is been made to men! If you're praying to be seen and acknowledged of men, judge if you are praying to God. We could even take it further by calling you an idolater. You're very much or close to that camouflage of deferring what God should attentively acknowledge to what men should see and praise you for.

Irrespective of the number, people, status of people who found themselves stumbling against this principle, the judging voice speaking to them this morning is that they've been judged already and so, "they have their reward." That reward as it's been elaborated to me is immature and untimely. No farmer plants and expects germination so soon and fruits instatenously but these breakers and violators of process tend to have their own that immediately. A mark that God doesn't favour such act at all. You should search yourself if your things have been to impress men and be seen of them instead of God. If it is, you'll on many occasions collide with the will of God and can never become a yielded vessel in His hands. The reason is because He hasn't become your Lord and doesn't have you totally for Himself. Have you been having your reward or you'll await your reward. The Bible says, "God is a rewarder of they that diligently seeks Him (Heb.11:6). This verse means God will reward you but never untimely, inappropriately and immaturely. I pray that the voice of God's judgement and disfavour won't speak into your life.

PRAYER: Lord, kill in me what's breathing and desiring the inordinate acknowledgement of men and endorsement.

THE REWARD OF PRAYER

Matthew 6:5-6, KJV

"5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."

There's nothing justly done without its reward. The reward itself accompanies it to appreciate the sacrifice given which a great congregation might be defying. You and I can have the reward of prayer. In getting where we'll have that however, we'll do well if we heed some ordinances of Jesus on prayer.

"But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet" - Jesus said this in contrast to many who prayed with the intention of being seen, regarded as religious or hardworking in prayer. If that's there intention for which they pray, Jesus says, "they have their reward." They have their reward means they have their reward. You can't improve on that. These are words coming from Jesus' mouth Himself. That's why He wrote to you personally saying, "but thou when you pray." You know, we'll say, "God judges intention." Yes, He does and you should always purge your conscience and make it clear by asking always "the why" behind any of your action. Many actions are dead works. They're spurred by rivalry, desire for public praise, fame or that which perishes. You will get in contrast with kingdom principles and God if your intention is alien to what God says is acceptable.

If there's a guideline to doing an exam and passing it but same is defied, we all know you'll be penalized. The same applies here. Jesus has set for us new laws as it regards prayer and personal prayer mostly. He's saying, "mind your intention for praying." If it's to look like a praying mantis before the people, you'll have your reward. Your reward is that you'll be seen and praised by them to pray. But that act will rob you of consequently having whatsover you have asked in prayer from God because your intention isn't to have an answer from Him but rather to impress men. Keep impressing men and losing God's favours. In doing something spiritual like prayer, you may get into trouble. The idea that you should pray in your closet after shutting the door against yourself is a provision to help you maintain privacy (of being touched by men or of touching them) and concentration. You're different from those who intentionally situates themselves where they'll be seen of men to pray and be praised for same.

Jesus now promises that any who fulfils this condition of prayer would see His Father in heaven - the One Who sees in secret reward him openly.   Your prayers - secret heart desires should be unto God. In prayer, we don't come to pose to God, we reveal our deepest longings to Him. He's someone we could disclose to. When rightly done for the right purpose, we're promised an answer. Also, it should be noted that it's very much inappropriate to pray and disturb your neighbours. The blueprint given us here would curtail that as well. If your prayers were to be secret to your Father which is in secret, then you won't have any basis for a jangling prayer that disturbs or wants to be heard. If that's your intention, Jesus is saying, "you already have your reward." If you're ignorant, correct it. That means, there's nothing that could be done to change God's mind about giving you answers to your prayers. You wanted to be heard, seen, felt and acknowledged of men to pray and they have and that's all. You have received your reward. They might have been deceived by the fact that you pray and spend time in prayer because you wanted them see same but Jesus says, "that's all, you'll ever have as your reward." "You have your reward" means since your intention has been achieved, you don't need another answer.

This is how many put themselves in trouble with God and wonder at what's not working that they're working. Hannah typifies one who prays this secret prayer. She even prays in her heart. Though Eli saw her lips moving and heard no voice, Hannah's intention was not to draw attention or be acknowledged to pray. As a matter of fact, Eli misconceived her for being drunken and didn't believe she actually prayed until Hannah opened up to him (I Sam.10:17). Jesus also fulfilled this when He went out to pray in a solitary place a great while before day.  (Mark 1:35). Today, you have a choice - to be acknowledged by men or God. It's he who acknowledges you from whom your reward will come.

PRAYER: May I stop every vain labour. May I not yield to the desire of the flesh to be praised or acknowledged. May I rather see the children of prayers.

THE PRAYERS GOD IS FAMILIAR WITH - Seek Right Series 005

I Kings 3:8,11, KJV

"8 And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.

11 And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment."

It is God who tells us the trap Solomon could have fallen into but he escaped it by his unselfishness while seeing himself as a needy who needed to be empowered and equipped for his own ministry. God told us three things he could have asked for. Do you know something I discovered? Those three things God said Solomon could have asked for are what God do hear from the lips of people when they ask of Him often. On daily basis, when people come to God, their prayer always is and always revolves round those three requests. They're:

1. God, give me long life.

2. God, give me my enemies.

3. God, give me riches.

This is one of the reasons why God is impressed with Solomon because he seems to have thought differently and acted differently from the masses. He deviated from all the popular asks that God is usually bombarded with. Though the Holy Spirit is not yet inside him yet he proved how believers ought pray according to the will and expectation of God.

On daily basis, multitude seek after "other things." They neglect God's kingdom, its servicing and glorification even when they are not pulpit ministers. They have left from asking God insights into the cures of diseases and discoveries in order to make life better. They only want food, clothing and shelter but would sacrifice what could secure all those. Who will God give entrance into discoveries that money, fame and honour won't follow? That's how Solomon learnt to labour wisely by asking for the one thing that matters. You too, be weary of petty asks. Pray transcendental prayers. Ones that move God. Ones that catch His notice and draws His attention. Stop asking for yourself only. I say, be overwhelmed with others and service for humanity in your asks. Stop dying and stopping where others died and stopped. Go further. Leave them behind. Ask for people and nations and He'll surely make it your inheritance and possessions (Psalm 2:8). There's no breath or distance of asking that God can't fulfill. You can empty Him yet He'll never be emptied. Begin to seek higher things and let the testimony of God be, "because you've not asked for yourself riches, long life or the life of your enemies but a discerning heart to judge the people, I have given you that and all that you didn't ask for." This is the prayer that justifies wise request. It's the prayer that seeks God's kingdom and His righteousness yet have other things attracted also but which men have made their own focus by wrong prioritizing. "All these things" will be freely given you if you'll be this wise like Solomon. Those who ask the chief things don't need to ask for "all these things" again. One will secure the others.

PRAYER: Teach me the seeking of Your kingdom and His righteousness in prayer.

BEING UNSELFISH IN PRAYER  - Seek Right Series 004

Read I Kings 3:1-10

I Kings 3:11, KJV

"And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;

To mark a selfish man isn't far fetched. Close on his prayer. Watch and analyse it. What is Solomon's unselfish prayer? Let's analyse his prayer from what he didn't pray.

I Kings 3:8-9, KJV

"8 And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude. 9 Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?"

He said, "I'm in the midst of much people who could confuse a judge. So, give me a discerning heart (one I could use to judge them aright)." A discerning heart is for right judgement and you'll agree Solomon got that because the two prostitutes' knotty case proves that to be true (I Kings 3:16). You can't say you have received a gift until it's first tested out. Stop claiming you have a gift that has not been experienced or acknowledged indeed. I said Solomon's prayer is unselfish. How? What he asked for is not even for himself in that it's not a thing meant to meet his own needs. He said, "give me a discerning heart that I may be able to judge this Thy people aright." He asked for that for the good and welfare of the people. Will it be good to call someone a judge yet switches wrong for right? Is that not why justice has been perverted in many societies and the guiltless taken to be guilty? Who wants to live under such type of government where the just are punished and the offenders walk freely and boastfully. So that there might be fear of God, respect for the king and fairness amidst the citizens; that the righteous may know that no offender shall go unpunished and so keep up with being good, he asked for good judgement. So tell me, what benefit does that give him? He requested for a gift to the benefit of others and that's the same thing the anointing on any minister is for. It's to minister to the masses and not the carrier. The minister like myself must as well learn how to receive by faith for his own daily victorious living if he has needs.

That's what God noticed which made Him full of swelling impression for Solomon. He said, "you have not asked for YOURSELF riches, for the life of your enemies or for long life." These are the common everyday prayers multitudes pray day in, day out for themselves yet without any remarkable progress.

Solomon transcends being selfish. He went to live beyond the request of the masses. A true mark of a king who must be discerning than the subject. Today, mark yourself different. Be unselfish in pray. Ask that God might bless others using you. Ask that you might be used of God to meet the needs of others. Let it always and mostly be for others and in that you'll be satisfied and your own needs met.

PRAYER: Lord, open my eyes to the kind of prayers to pray in this season of my life. I transcend the common requests.

WHEN THE BIG TENDER COMES - Seek Right Series 003

Mark 6:22-23, KJV

"22 And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee. 23 And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom."

The big tender will come. I already said that during the beginning of this year that opportunities will come your way but will you be sensitive, well placed and readied to catch it? Your tender will come. Your time will come. An open cheque shall hit your table but then, you must be ready to catch it. It is Herod who has it to give who organizes an in-house party for many guests on his birthday. They eat and drink. The partying is loud. To top it all, a guest artiste is invited. She is known for her graceful and impressive dancing. She has one thousand turnings and twists in her custody. Such is she who's fit to dance and perform before royalty who no man should disappoint. Until any is sure of himself and his calling, such is not brought into the chamber and made to appear before kings. Or else, those who bring them and the fellow brought may both incur his wrath. A moral that we all must prove to be sound professionals in what we profess is our thing. That's when our gift could make a room for us in truth.

The guest artiste dances and shakes all to their foundations. The applause in the house is full of revival and the whisper is, "she deserves to be praised." The King having being impressed brought out his cheque book in the spirit of that celebration. He's ready to prove how great he is. He said in the full glare of all. "Ask of me anything even to the half of my kingdom and I shall do it."

Since this guest minister has been going for shows, this is likely the first time somebody says, "determine what you'll get. Name your price!" She was confused right away. She never prepared for this. Immediately, she withdraw to seek counsel of a forerunner on how to utilize this opportunity and draw on this tender. And she proved having been taught. How did we know? We were told what she asked almost empty the king's account to the extent that he wasn't pleased (Mark 6:26). Kai! This lady couldn't have sounded that depth on her own.

Solomon's opportune time came and this lady's also arrive, this is a pointer that God will come for you too. Your blank cheque is coming. However, how ready are you? Are you prepared? Do you know what to pray and ask for at such tender? Do you know what to draw from the well even if you're presented with opportunity to draw? Do you have those guiding you and teaching you on what next to do after an occurrence of an event? If you don't, you'll always be shortchanged and you might not utilize the biggy tenders that'll come your way this year. God is saying, "be ready and then have a support system by your side." The Bible tells me of a tree whose leaves never wither and which brings out his fruit in his season (Psalm 1:3)." Don't think this tree achieves this on his own. It's basically because of its siting. We were again told that, "it's a tree planted by the riverside." That means what keeps it running, productive and never dry in all seasons (including dry or drought) is the availability of water and consequent his sucking of it. This year, I see you being prospered by counsel and counsellors by your side. They shall do you good and not harm and in them you shall safely trust to maximize all your tenders. Don't rely on your own understanding only. It's always in the multitude of counselors, there's safety (Prov.11:14).

PRAYER: Lord, teach me on the usage of the wisdom of others. May I open to what experience, professionalism and revelation of others could teach me. May you always come to my aid through men.

MOTHER, TEACH ME HOW TO HUNT! - Seek Right Series 002

Read Mark 6:12-29

Mark 6:24, KJV

"And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist."

You actually don't know how to hunt but you need learn how to hunt. Your prayer should be, "Lord, show and teach me how to hunt." Did we not know that at least David said  "He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms (Psalms 18:34)." So, it's a reality and not a denial that the Lord do teach and could tailor His teaching to your own specific need.

Herod in the spirit of hilarity promised the daughter of Herodias to make any request upon him. How much more God whose is the earth and all that's in them? How I wish Herod had seen the end before now however but he was too impressed. Not wanting to disgrace and reduce his own words to nothingness, he orders with bravery that the head of a prophet - John the Baptist be given to Herodias' daughter. But this girl is too young. She knows not what to pray or how to pray it. That's why she immediately flings to her mother with the cry, "mummy, teach me what to pray. I know not what to ask." The mother must have smiled and said, "thanks you didn't waste this rare privilege and open door. I will now teach you daughter and you shall come home with a baffling profit. You shall fish big from the waters and all that hears shall be surprised." Immediately, this woman taught her to ask for the head of John the Baptist. This was the girl that didn't know what to afore ask for. She could have asked for some petty gifts if left alone but the mother put her right and aided her in her asking so much more that her ask reveals maturity beyond her age. I'm hearing a loud echo in my spirit saying, "likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God (Romans 8:26-27, KJV).

Paul is saying that our failure to know God’s will and consequent inability to petition God specifically and assuredly is met by God’s Spirit, who himself expresses to God those intercessory petitions that perfectly match the will of God. When we do not know what to pray for—yes, even when we pray for things that are not best for us—we need not despair, for we can depend on the Spirit’s ministry of perfect intercession “on our behalf.” Where our profit is is that we're not forlorn. Even in our weakness, God's Spirit intercedes for us succinctly as fit and meet with what's the will of God (the mark that should not be missed). This is where all petitioners who don't know what to ask or how to ask it can be made perfect. Herodias'daughter knows not how to pray nor know what to ask for, but she was aided. The difference is only that those words were put in her own mouth. Apart from the importance of mentoring that I'm seeing there, being full of yourself will rob you and make you request for less where you could have carried the 'head of John the Baptist" or make the greatest tender that'll leave God's account with sigh. You really don't know what to ask or pray. So, we ought to often pray that we'll be led in prayer to hit on the mind of God. There are Spirit led prayers. I call it dictates. It's what you hear bubbling from your inside when you pray. Some call it prophetic prayer. This is the mind of God per time apart from all His explicitly revealed will already stated in the Bible. At times, scriptures will float to your mind time after time.

Today, God wants you to be humble and acknowledge you know not how to pray. Apart from the Spirit's intercessory work of aiding our weaknesses, take the yoke and responsibility of the Spirit praying through you upon yourself and you shall always hunt big. Yield to him if you sense a move in your spirit. Quit yourself, be quiet and know He's Lord. The Spirit knows what's the will of the Father and He'll help you ask the important, major, big and impressive delightful things.

PRAYER: Thank you for the intercessory role of the Holy Ghost for me. Teach me to ask Lord. Equip me to ask according to Your will.

WHEN YOU IMPRESS GOD - Seek Right Series 001

Read I Kings 3:1-10

I Kings 3:9-10, KJV

"9 Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? 10 And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing."

Only few ever impress God. So few a people. How do we impress God? By seeking of Him what will impress Him? Many times, people ask or seek frivolously but God wants you to be weaned and be saved from the selfishness revealed in your search and prayer.

God appeared to Solomon in Gibeon and in his dream. He made him a tender, "ask of me anything." This is probably after the first impression he made on God. Solomon was said to have sacrificed a thousand burnt offerings. Imagine slaughtering an animal at every step and inch (I Kings 3:4). Solomon having just being crowned king therefore requested for an understanding and discerning heart as to be able to judge the people. He touched God because the Bible recorded that, "his speech pleased Him." Many a speech that didn't even persuade God. These are prayers and thoughts that didn't bypass the ceiling to the heavens. At such impression, God couldn't hold it but express His delight. He told him, "because you have not asked for what men prioritize and what concerns many, I have given thee an understanding heart that never existed before thee or after thee (I Kings 3:11)." To now prove that Solomon indeed impinged on God's heart, God told him, "I've also given you what you didn't ask for: riches and honour so that there'll not be any like you in your day (v.12). Look at how Solomon caught what he didn't even ask for!

That's it. Solomon impressed God. He asked for what should be the ingredient of his ministry as a king and one who will often judge the people. God sees that the love to excel in kingship and never be partial or misjudge exists in him. What did God respond with? He saluted him for such good choice, compared his choice with many frivolous choices (God must have seen and experienced of other men) and then gave him his request while blessing him with what he didn't ask for in his prayer. Many times, we humans are so parochial that we miss the mark. There's a chief blessing that command others. If you seek that chief blessing, it'll attract to you other minor blessings. But many times, we pursue the lesser instead of the greater. When Solomon went for gold, God gave him other trophies with it.

Matthew 6:33 says, "but seek first His kingdom and his righteousness and all these things shall be yours as well." You see, knowing what to seek is actually not so hidden. The Bible keeps helping us focus on what our pursuit should be. But many there be who run helter skelter after what can't bring them the ultimate in life. If you seek after God's will, seeking to make heaven a reality on earth for humans wherever you are, you can't but possess other things like fame, riches and honour. In the service you've committed yourself to, other attractions will by it come.  But, what people pursue are "these things - food, clothing, shelter (Matt.6:31)" to the neglect of His kingdom and God's ways of doing things.

Today and this early, God wants you to prioritize what to seek and pray for in prayer. Don't waste your bullets. Focus your target and it'll have a mark. There are blessings that command other blessings. The mark that Solomon asked right and that God was impressed with him is giving him other things many covet and do die for but which he acquired by pursuing "the only one thing that matters." The mark that "seeking God's kingdom and His righteousness" is chief also comes with sub blessings. It therefore tells me that whenever a man seeks right, he's rewarded beyond his search. Please, seek right this year.

PRAYER: Lord, open my eyes to the utmost need in my life and of my ministry, vocation or assignment. May I seek and impress God.

WE'VE BEEN FOREWARNED

Read Matthew 7:13-14

Matthew 7:13, KJV

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:"

I'll say we've all be forewarned and as it is rightly put, "to be forewarned is to be forearmed." When God - the Lover of our souls and our caring Father says, "enter ye in by the strait gate", what propels that? Love! You're shocked? He's simply telling us what choice He wants us pick. God says in Deuteronomy 30:19, "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:"

What sort of teacher is God who sets exam questions yet helps His students to pass? Have you seen a teacher who sets the questions and yet suggests the answers to the students? That's what God voluntarily does in those words of Joshua and whenever you see such, it's because we're beloved and we're earnestly being protected from getting lost. God admonished us to "enter in by the strait gate" and then gives us a reason for that. He said, "for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction." Imagine that, imagine what God wants you to escape. Though you've not yet reached where the consequence would speak yet God is helping you determine your eternal home and what reward you'll have by giving you an expo on which gate to enter in or through. It is not the wide gate but the strait. Has God not by Himself given us the answer and what choice to make? If He blatantly tells us to "enter by the narrow gate", is that not a clear instruction enough to jettison the wide gate/broad way?

One man by the name Joshua lived this subtly out also. He said "if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD (Joshua 24:15, KJV).

If the high leader, Joshua himself who received direct communication from the Lord could say, "He'll serve the Lord with his household", does it not become a mandate and a necessity on anyone to make the choice of serving the Lord. He has subtly shown others what choice to make and the wise would follow and escape any consequence of doing otherwise. God has finished His love for us by showing us what choice to make. He warned us this early as to arm us against the consequences that follow neglect of the way. I pray that this instruction of the Lord that says, "enter ye in by the strait gate" will be obeyed by you so that you may escape the wide door (that allows anything and places no restriction on you) but which at day's end leads to destruction of a man's life here on earth and later his soul. Shalom.

PRAYER: I make the choice to live. I choose the strait gate. I receive Christ and embrace His ways..

WHILE BY OTHERS THOU ART PASSING - Pass Me Not Series 002

Read Gen. 18:1-10

Genesis 18:1-2, KJV

"1 And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; 2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground..."

Today, it is, "while by others Thou art passing, do not pass me by." I said it yesterday, one could be passed by. God will come and He'll same way go because He's not noticed and detained. Visitation has begun however. Some have begun to recount God's visitation to them already but while by others He's passing, will you allow Him pass you by?

You've read of how Abraham entertained angels here unawares. Whether it's by divine revelation or it is his habitual practice of generosity to others, Abraham was able to arrest that which could have passed by his front gate just like that. Opportunity could be so near you that you could even miss it. It could be so lowered down to you yet you're not attuned to it because you've been conditioned to a way of living which you're not ready to give up to acquire it. What should we say of Peter that a sheet was intentionally lowered or descended for with the cry, "rise, kill and eat." Despite how lowly descended it was, he only debated and never took part in this opportunity or great feast. It was this he does until he grieves them and it was withdrawn (Acts 10:13,16). Tradition was fighting him from tapping it. What a bad news I don't want to hear!

But that didn't happen to Abraham. He has ears all over his body even for strangers. Somehow, the water he should partake of didn't flow pass him. His culture of generosity helps him take divine luminaries for who they really are even when they're disguised as common men. The Bible says, "and the Lord appeared to him in the plains of Mamre..." The next question should be, "how did the Lord appear?" He appeared as men - that's why Abraham saw three men stood by him yet he ran to meet them to persuade them to himself. The Lord didn't appear in splendour, light and glory. None of them even appeared as an army general girding a sword by his side yet Abraham trapped and sucked them to himself due to the values he has embraced. So, he could give recognition at last to whom recognition is due. He wouldn't let them pass him by. I wouldn't know whether perception tells him anything about them but we sure know that none of this three men displayed any characteristic that could have hinted Abraham of their divine nature or abilities. God, open my eyes and let me see into all disguises. By the upright principles of life, let me suck to myself those who have keys to bless me. Why am I saying this? This year, many opportunities will be disguised. They're angels but they'll come as men. Big men will camouflage as nonentities in need. Only those who have been afore taught to live soberly while reflecting Christian virtues would trap them. How did Abraham come by his own? Just through the virtue of generosity which means much to him. It was only through that act of being good to all people including strangers that he entertained angels without knowing.

God will pass by your house. You'll come across a job or scholarship you should apply for, people you should befriend but only those with humaness and hooks in their minds could recognize and hook them up. Only those who have humanity in mind will benefit. The selfish who are always enquiring as to what they'll gain would be passed by. May you be awake and aware at such time when greatness is shielded in the levity of humility. May you not delay but rather run to meet such opportunity. May you be propelled to enjoin with what will do you favour. May your Abraham bring home those who have the mouth to say, "I shall return to you according to the time of life." May you entertain angels. For we were told as the manners of some were, they entertained angels without knowing.

Hebrews 13:2, KJV

"Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."

This is the year your seed shall arise for a memorial for you. Your kind gestures shall open to you some doors. So, in your stringency, keep sowing. Today, angels will no longer pass you by again. This year, you'll suck them in by the practice of Christian virtues. You'll show help to those who hold your blessings and could give it to you as from the Lord. But how shall you detect same if you're not good to humanity without discrimination or specially notified by the Spirit inside you?

PRAYER: I shall act like Christ and practice Christian virtues. I receive special attraction and conviction on where my opportunities lie.

WHILE ON OTHERS THOU ART CALLING - Pass Me Not Series 001

Matthew 4:18-22, KJV

"18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. 19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him 21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. 22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him."

Brethren, our prayer, our high prayer this year (this early year) should be, "while on others Thou art calling, do not pass me by." It's a great reality, passage could be made and you'll be there nonchalant and non involved. But while on others Thou (God) art calling, do not pass me by. Jesus begin to call and collect disciples for Himself. First, it was Peter and Andrew. Second, it was James and John. He called them and they heeded. Things of God is set by set. Those four are a set. They began together and at the same time. God is faithful and He will come for you too. May you however recognize your divine moment. Moment do slip but you must recognize your time and latch unto it.

There's a season that entry into a thing is best. That is, "while on others He is calling." When others are being collected to be groomed somewhere and given a future in a sector, don't be left behind especially if the call as well is extended to you. It is while on others Thou art calling, do not pass me by. You must rather learn how to count yourself in; how to simply take opportunities. Jesus called the two brothers ahead first and then he called some other two. Four of them heeded the call and made use of the opportunity that has appeared to all men (all of them). That call could have been wasted by one or some of them however.

Brethren, it's a great blessing to know when God is passing and then latch unto same. When God is passing and you carefully join to Him, in days to come, you shall see its great effect. In destiny, we all know what those four brothers became though James died earlier but entry into calling for all of them came at the same time - at a time it was difficult transiting. If you don't know, it's difficult leaving one job for the other but the call hit them and the report was "straightway, they left all to follow Him." Call may be to different things or aspects. It may be a call to start a thing. One man of God by God's instruction told God's mind to two people in his congregation. One was his wife, whom God told to go on TV at that time and another woman was she who God told to found a school. His own wife received it with faith while the other woman treated it shabbily. Because of the rejoicing and faith that minister's wife received hers with, faith became a force, went into propelling, made demands on God and even the kick-starting money for the programme was provided for by the Lord. It was that time a sister who was once under that pastor in Nigeria but then in Sweden sent some money - just enough required for payment at that broadcasting station. The other woman neither received the seed nor start by faith immediately. And that was it. She never really prospered when she later wanted to start. That's because the grace of beginning or starting passed her by. If God appears by prophecy and says, "someone is here who's sick of A or B, signify and you'll be healed." If the fellow doesn't but later comes to show himself to the minister, there's little or nothing he could do. Do you know why? The anointing was present to deal with that special problem there and then but now the man or minister might have become like any other. God might have lifted on him for the meanwhile. So, the moment none responds to that, such might lose an opportunity of being healed there and then also but rather be passed by. You can't accuse God of being unjust. The words He speaks to the first brothers were the words He speaks to the second brothers. Thank God all of them heeded and Jesus didn't pass them by. You too, you're solely accountable for what you do with your own words, opportunities and the call of God to you. If God calls you, it means He wants to make you. He wants to give you a destiny somewhere. At least we know He made them fishers of men - great apostles of the calling. What if you do not heed? What if God passes by you just like that? What if while others God is calling, you're deaf and nonchalant to the future he has for you? Then, you may reap the reward of Esau who sought it with tears yet receives it not (Heb.12:17). Therefore, make a commitment this year that while others God art calling, you will never for once be passed by. You'll rather make utmost use of the time, call and become great through the words of prophecy, calling and grace of beginning.

PRAYER: Hook my spirit and mind to divine moments and special people of destiny this year. None will pass me by.

VOMITED SAFELY AT DESTINATION 2023

VOMITED SAFELY AT DESTINATION 2023!

Brethren, we've been conveyed all through the thick and thin of the waters but now we've been vomited at the shore.

That reminds me of a shocking narrative in the Bible. Prophet Jonah wouldn't go but after experiencing what it means to battle with the Lord, he willingly had himself offered so that the buffeting wind would stop. And it does stop.

Meanwhile, as he was arriving into the waters (having been thrown into it), he was as well swallowed up by a waiting vehicle. This whale has been given directives on what to do with him. It's never to squash or eat him up but rather to keep him safe in itself and convey him from where he had dropped to where he should be.

How many of us knows that in every journey there's always a destination? There is! Jonah had his and that was Nineveh. When his vehicle would drop him, it took him towards his destination and vomited him there. At the vomiting of Jonah, arrival was made. Imagine what the vehicle passed through in the sea before arrival. That submarine ship used three days and three nights before arrival at the shore. No wonder, you and I had to use a whole 365 days before we reached destination 2022 which was the border line and cross over into destination 2023.

God of Last Year is the God of this Year. What I promise you (as from the Lord) is safety. You may note that down. His mouth has spoken it. If today, there's a decree and a change in the counting of days but that 365 days has become 665 days, you'll still be conveyed, transported safely and vomited at the shore. It's not how long or turbulent the year is; it's about He in whose belly and mind you occupy. Have you stopped being the thought in God's mind? No, He's still mindful of you (Psalm 8:4). He watches each of your step to ensure at last, what happens is that you're vomited at the shore and arrival is made.

Jonah 2:10, KJV

"...and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land."

What's the shore? Land adjoining a non-flowing body of water, such as an ocean, lake or pond. When a ship arrives at the shore, it sure has ended its journey and I can't but thank God that we've both ended 2022 together and arrive 2023 together. Meanwhile, our being vomited at the shore of the sea means an arrival at a New Year's gate that we have to summon and surmount. When Jonah made arrival at the shore, he didn't wait, sit, sleep or die there. He rather travelled from there into DESTINATION. He immediately went for NINEVEH. He climbed up to it and took it for God. There's a task to accomplish and that's why you've been brought into 2023. Don't die at the shore. From the shore, journey into the city and explore and conquer the numerous in 2023. When the battle line was drawn between the Philistines and Israel and the daring was fierce, we were told this below:

I Samuel 17:48, KJV

"And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine."

You see. David ran to meet the Philistine just the way Jonah didn't delay to go to take Nineveh. Nineveh was three days journey but he began to enter it as one (Jonah 3:3-4). Please, be up to the task. Arise and take 2023. It has drawn near you, draw near it and pick it up and live it out to God's glory and man's benefit.

Yours in the New Ship,
