RESPONSIBILITY OR PRESTIGE FIRST OF ALL?

READ Acts 6:1-4

Genesis 39:6, KJV

"And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat..."

Responsibility brings prestige and not vice-versa. We must know what to give priority to that causes other things to exist. You can't seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness and not have all these things added unto you (Matthew 6:33).

In today's passage, Potiphar took no thought for anything he had except the food he ate. He has found a trustworthy fellow in whose hands everything blossoms that he could delegates to. You might therefore mistaken Joseph as the hard worker and Potiphar as the eater only! You might turn to defend Joseph for being made the donkey and abuse Potiphar for his laziness, neglect and inaction.

There's prestige in that act of Potiphar leaving all to Joseph. However, what cause it? That's typical of men of status. Many of the works they should attend to are being attended to by others. Do they just choose to be excused in order to be gallivanting around?

Despite the fact that Potiphar left all that concerns the household in the hands of Joseph doesn't make an irresponsible man out of him. It was the so many demands in his hands that warranted his looking out for whom to delegate to in the first instance. Potiphar was the chief of guards of Pharaoh. In those days, politicians do go on campaigns even outside their countries. At this time, Egypt rules as a world power. Imagine the responsibilities in the hands of any attached to Pharaoh in government. So, when Potiphar left household duties to Joseph, it was not to be sleeping and waking up but to rather give attention to utmost important things.

One thing that's typical of all high leaders is that they free their time from things that could waste it or divert it from its ultimate focus. Potiphar already had much at hand and if he'll perform effectively in order to satisfy Pharaoh who had enlisted him, he must seek to see how his works could be cushioned. Why make a priority of domestic matters when national matters cry out for help. From earning commendations for national jobs well done, domestic matters receive life, allocation and resources from which they take their being. Off course, there's a place of giving attention to family. This is where Potiphar might have missed it which might have caused the wife to descend so low as to have the head of slaves, Joseph in bed. Of course, that's who she sees daily. Potiphar was therefore revealed by this event as one that rarely stays at home. That's why it was not until Potiphar arrives that she shows him the false evidence she has against Joseph and further accuses him to him. Only a busy man is not always available.

What am I saying? If you embrace the work, you'll have the prestige. Potiphar was doing the work before it got to a place where he was too big to continue taking thought for some issues. So, he had it delegated. You can grow to a place also where your social media accounts are managed for you; where domestic workers are the ones who does the laundry, cooking and cleaning. This won't just come by desiring it but by living the life that gives it.

There's no one that gives himself to the demands of his calling or career that won't one day face the consequence of enlargement faced in verse 1 of Acts 6 that warranted needing further hands. Once enlargement steps in, such is going to be besetted on every sides and would begin to look for escapes. In seeking solutions, he'll have to drop off some lesser duties to embrace higher ones on which his life hinges to preserve his relevance. This is where the apostles of the Lamb got to before they say, "look out for yourselves men that are full of certain qualifications and let them see to this matter. As for us, we'll major in the ministry of the Word and prayer." It wasn't that they were exercising pride by saying they can't serve tables again. We knew they once did.

So, as a leader, know the wheat from the shaft. No what to delegate from what to cling to. That's your salvation from being idle also. It isn't pride that Potiphar no longer takes thought for petty issues (when a Joseph is there); higher responsibilities called him to come up hither.

Don't just salute people as the boss (those enjoying life only) or think they have all the time to spare when you discover they don't do domestic or ordinary tasks daily. No. They're still as busy or busier than before despite the jettisoning of those tasks.

Whenever there's a jettisoning, it is the elimination of a lower task for a higher and riskier task. So, the task is still tasky. So, don't covet a big status if you can't live out its responsibilities.

PRAYER: Lord, teach me what to pay attention to as I scale the ladder of leadership. May I not have misplaced priority.

THE "ALL THINGS WELL" GOD

Read Mark 7:32-37

Mark 7:37, KJV

"And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak."

There's a God that does it all. Once He comes for you, He doesn't give attention to only one, He does it all. If He meets ten things as need in your life to be attended to, He won't attempt some and jettison others.

A deaf and dumb was brought to Jesus with pleads that He should put His hand on him. They knew what God could wrath through Jesus before they requested Him to put His hand on him. Do you think they'll tell an ordinary fellow that? Having a revelation of the God that does miracle is key to receiving miracle. That statement of theirs reveals their assurance in Jesus and the truth that miracles can be received. Just as they had exercised their faith, the fellow was healed. He speaks and he hears now. To this miracle, the crowd said, "He has done all things well, He makes both the deaf to hear and the dumb to speak."

How many problem did this fellow has? Two! Did Jesus only cure him of one or both? You see, God when He does His thing settles it completely. He who created the mouth will in addition create with it what the mouth will eat. I heard a verse now. Here is it:

1 Corinthians 10:13, KJV  "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."

The temptation may be present but the way of escape will be opened also. All things well God! Everything is well God! He repairs all. He doesn't hesitate in doing one and leaving the other to still bother you. I pray that God will make all things well in your life. The numerousness of your need doesn't pose challenge to God. He'll go round them and do all things well. All things has its place and He'll put each in its place.

I heard of a brother who got a partial scholarship to go study abroad. While on the study, he needed to balance up. He had no where to go but to turn to his pastor. The pastor spoke to another brother of their denomination who's also abroad to lend him the money and that he'll pay later. That one did. As the lender knelt to pray one day, God told him he should let the money go and that that was His money for that brother He kept with him.

That's how He that gave a partial scholarship to that brother cleared the payment also. Has He not done all things well? Did He not give a scholarship and also finance it?

So, let your mind be at rest. If God is telling you to go ahead on a matter, it has been financed. Only that God is not showing you the prove or receipt of it being financed. Preparation is always in place and ahead for you. Do you receive that? Even if you have twin matters at hand to settle, believe that God will attend to all. May your needs be met. May you also look up to heaven in awesome wonder that God has done all things well by listing the numerous things He has done for you. May you be shocked and in gratitude say, "what a thing, what a God who has done all things well." For those who are deaf and dumb this morning, may He that settled these two related problems and attracted the "all things well testimony" touch you. I say, be opened and let the string of your tongue be loosed."

PRAYER: When you send people, you go with them. Show me your commitment Lord. Meet my numerous needs and let me know You as "All things well God!"

IF YOU DO WELL

Genesis 4:6-7, KJV

"6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him."

God wants you know that there's no authority that should be terror to good work. By godly ordaining, they are to commend good and fall upon evil works or seemingly ones.

Romans 13:3, KJV

"For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:"

In today's reading, God commended Abel over Cain. Both of them brought offerings to the Lord but one won God's approval and so was commended while the other was corrected to emulate doing well also. God is seen as an authority whose right it is to commend or ask for more. He did just that.

All authorities wherever they may be must know that it's their exclusive right to be terror to evil works and praiser of good works. Never feel you'll be making enemies or make your followers/workers enemies of themselves if you give commendation to one but ask the other to do better. They may see it so but that shouldn't deter you. As long as you're not biased in rewarding, then you will have a clear conscience to implement such and continually have their respect.

God while speaking to Cain said, "if you do well, will you not be accepted?"

So, there shouldn't be any system that applauds people that doesn't do well above those that does well. If you find yourself in a system and what goes on there is the sacrifice of good for evil, then you're not well situated. Such system can destroy you and make you a man of evil intention and evil act.

God is a very just One. He exhibited fairness where we read. God isn't partial or discriminatory like Cain by his being angry feels God is. Rather, God has just discharged as a good leader should divide between those who have done well and those who haven't.

God said, "if you do well, will you not be accepted?  This shows God is not judging by any other standard but that of "doing well." God was saying, "don't think I hate you. If you had done well like your brother, I would have commended you." He knew God was justified over him. He knew he had not done well indeed. It pained him and he couldn't argue it with God. He knew just like God knew that he hadn't done well. Don't be one of such that it is at reward time they blame themselves for the job they could have done or done better.

All leaders, authority figures etc must learn from God. You must know what to encourage and discourage by what you commend or withhold commendation from. When God commended Abel, God indirectly was telling him to act that way the more and not change. When God didn't commend Cain, God was saying, there's a thing to repair. Do that and you'll be accepted. For as many that are angry, feels cheated, embarrassed, discriminated against etc, because someone was righteously and sincerely commended over you by an authority figure in your lives; you must know you're not owned an apology. The question you should ask yourself is, "if I do well, will I not be accepted."

You should rather be sorry for not doing well and seek to win approval next time. Your person, your work or act etc that was not commended was because you didn't do well. The criteria for judging is opened to all to evaluate. It is not a mystery or a thing not explainable that could justify your not being praised. Doing well wins praise. Doing contrarily demands correction. This ain't hatred but setting right!

PRAYER: I have capacity for good inside me. I exhibit same in all human endeavour. Let the Spirit of excellence that outruns multitude to win urges me on.

MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE - Olusola ADEJUMO

LEADERLESS YET ORGANIZED

Read Proverbs 30:24-28

Proverbs 30:27, KJV

"The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands"

Do you know that you can outperform your deficiency? The Holy Spirit wants that to be concretized in you. Normally, we mourn what we don't have and blame what we couldn't do on same. However, we can be born anew mentally to begin to act differently. It is not all the time that deficiency is a permanent restriction. Due to growth and the kind of mindset some have come to arm themselves with over the years, they even believe that out of every deficiency, they can call out a blessing. Was it not out of the strong Samson scrapped honey? Without the strong being killed, who can of it gather honey? To kill the strong (a lion) is obviously a hard thing to do yet the testimony of getting what is sweet is from what poses difficulty being defeated.

In our Bible passage today, reference was made to some four things that are small but are extremely wise.

Proverbs 30:24, KJV

"There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise"

So, what we are here to study is the wisdom of one of these four characters. They are the locusts. The locusts are said to be leaderless. They have no king. What is the function of a king? He gives the vision, agenda and guides all towards it. That's what the locusts lack. The entity that will instruct, manage and motivate them towards comportment of themselves is lacking in their lives. I have heard people attach misbehaviour to lack of parenting (mentoring) or parents. Some truths are in there because some have manifested the failure of lacking it but it's not always true. You also must not give excuses for failure because you lack a life's manager.  Meanwhile, what could have created deficiency for the locusts was not at all allowed by them. Despite the fact that they lack a king (someone to pack them together and tell them how to behave), the Bible recorded that they still excel.

Where is their excellence manifested? "...yet, they match in bands!"

Do you understand that? That is, they don't have a scattered life. If you have seen locusts before matching, you'll know they're organized yet they don't have an organizer. When programmes are to be done, there's always the organizers. We put that on ground so that we won't suffer harm but that the programme will fulfill its purpose. That's what the locusts lack yet they still excelled.

Those of you who are giving excuses as to why you have failed or why you are how you are, you better let the years of blaming it on something or someone go. Embrace responsibility like the locusts. Let your testimony be, "...despite lacking this and not having that, I still made it." The locusts have no king yet all of them still match in bands towards a singular purpose. Not even one of them - even the youngest deviates from this attribute of excellence. You wonder where they pick the initiative for correct behaviour from. Even the forces of nations must be taught to go out or fight in bands or groups. But the locusts were not taught by another but intuitively picks that. It was a self taught thing.

I pray that you will pick the revelation of things to live up to. That's what can mark you out. Each of us can be self taught. When we are self taught, many of our problems will be eliminated since we don't need A to put B right. We will do what's expected of us. Organizations, families, nations etc can then run as if it is being auto-piloted.

One day, I told my younger brother to mind how he lives. I gave him instances and told him he shouldn't boast or pull rank by saying, "he has me to lean on." There are children who say that and despise what they can become on their own. John warned some people not to be self deceived as to say they have Abraham as their father also [Matthew 3:9].

You see, why was I telling my brother that? He was beginning to fail and not bringing forth corresponding results of his age. I told him, all of us have been fatherless for over a period of 11 years and we can't even put much on our mother. Should we not be self taught? Throughout my undergraduate days, my mother never called me once to ask whether I was serious. She knew it is me. I went with self determination. I didn't need a king over me to begin to show me the ABC of what to face. I hunted for it and pursued after it. When I got to campus, I was the one searching for the fellowship I later became her president and not Christians trying to harvest or salvage my soul.

May your story be like this. Wherever you have deficiencies, may you receive the testimony of having not being limited by it because the natural thing is to be limited by what we don't have. May you however surprise the world as to put in their mouth stories of how you excelled despite your lack. Receive by revelation how to act in proper behaviour and be praised for same.

May the invisible Holy Spirit be King over you so that physical kings will call you a proper child and one to testify about.

PRAYER: Father, I rise and perform beyond deficiencies in my life. I shall have a testimony to give while saying, "despite all..."

BUOYANT IN SOUL AND SPIRIT

Read Isaiah 61:1-5

Psalms 4:7, KJV

"Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased."

The Lord do not want us to be heavy. He wants us to be cheerful and do joyous acts round about. That place gives God the credence of putting joy in one's heart. It acknowledges it is He that owns exceeding gladness and can put it in one's heart. This exceeding gladness don't come from another quarters but from God.

We have read time without number that every good and perfect gift comes from above. It is not below or from any other places. If you want the exceeding gladness, more than they have when there's an increase in their output, such comes from God. However, you can still settle with the ordinary joy. But if you want the kind of joy that will call forth extraordinary behaviours that we can liken to misbehaviours, let God give you just a doze of this gladness' injection.

You see, a gladdened heart is like a plastic bowl that stays afloat on the water surface. It won't only stay afloat, it will swim or dance around. It will be buoyant. It will soar. It will be mobile.

Compare this to a depressed, tired or battered soul. That one will look like a plastic bowl that is drowned. It will go into the water and be stayed just at the very bottom of it. To bring it to the surface, you must go into the deep to escalate it. That's what the garment of heaviness does to people. It makes them sink and remain still at the bottom! Chances of returning are slim. That spirit holds them captive in the bottom of the bottom.

Isaiah 61:3, KJV

"To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, THE OIL OF JOY FOR MOURNING, THE GARMENT OF PRAISE FOR THE SPIRIT OF HEAVINESS; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified."

Have you seen someone that's heavy and has that iron garment worn on him do acts of a fellow with a raised head before? No! The fellow will just be shut down. I believe the garment of heaviness just like the name suggests is a very heavy garment that whomsoever it is worn upon has to sink immediately. Activities are always brought to a halt. I'll give an analogy. If you want to sink or drown some things in water and your goal is that they should go to the very bottom, what do you do? You look for a heavy object and tie such buoyant object to that thing that by the reason of its own nature can't but sink. Now, that heavy object will restrict the buoyant nature of the other object. It will rather take it with itself down to the very bottom of the water where there won't be any hope of coming back.

When David wanted to go fight Goliath, a coat or armour of mail was worn him. Immediately, one thing results. He couldn't walk in them. His ability to be mobile like a free bird was immediately tampered with. Until it was removed, David couldn't act very freely and swiftly. Garment of heaviness is just like that. It overwhelms its victim and bring another nature over them. If you're around a fellow with a heavy garment worn him, you'll sense it. It is even contagious.

Such will be at the lowest of the lowest. Like led, he'll sink into the water [I Samuel 17].

But God don't appreciate a heavy spirit either. He wants you to swim, soar and be buoyant both in soul and spirit. What a thing!

If we compare gladness with gladness, we'll see God has done everything perfectly well before delivering to those He gives gladness or joy to. The gladness He offers is the type that exceeds what the world knows. A comparison is immediately sets between the joy God injects in a Christian and the joy exhibited at an increase of yield or at harvest. If you hear that your salary is raised, you'll obviously be happy. That's an increased yield. If you plant and your land brings forth very plentiful, you'll be happy that you're reaping more than you sow. However, this God given gladness surpasses that which they (the heathen or unbelievers) know when what could cause joy that we humans respond to happens to them.

I pray for you that you will know, hear, see joy. God will use you as a demonstration of a joyous Christian. Wherever you've sunk, the resurrecting power of God will bring you to the surface and you'll maintain buoyancy. All heavy spirit is bound and casted out. Moodiness is arrested. That melancholy demon that makes you unstable in  emotion is rebuked. I say be like a clear weather. Don't be cloudy again. Let people around you enjoy you. Bring delight and be delightful.

PRAYER: The blessing of the Lord it makes rich without adding any sorrow, I claim your gladness Lord. Experiment gladness with me.

JOIN YOURSELF TO THIS CHARIOT

READ Acts 8:26-40

Acts 8:29, KJV

"Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot."

You see, only God knows who will do you favour or from whom you will reap benefit. You might not have taken a step since but if you hear the voice of the Spirit any time, I'll like you run towards obeying that voice like Philip the evangelist does.

God saw a prospect in the Ethiopian eunuch. He's like a made ready field that has been ploughed but awaits the seeds. Philip becomes the sower who preached Jesus to him from the place he couldn't understand which he was reading from the book of Isaiah. Only God knows what you don't know. That's why if He tells you to join yourself to that fellow in business, friendship or even marriage, you should. God has seen a need in his life like that of the Ethiopian eunuch that needs to be met and it's you who would meet it. More importantly, God has seen there would be a return to you also from such person you might joined. Imagine what profit it was to the kingdom of God that the Ethiopian eunuch received Jesus. God profits and Philip himself profits for having gotten him born again. This man plays a part in bringing the gospel to Africa. Isn't that a thing to be deposited into Philip's account also? If he had withdrawn joining himself to that chariot, the man wouldn't have been born again and the gospel might not have reached some in Africa. This man already escaped Jerusalem and God didn't want him escape. So, who will get him for God?

I Kings 19:17, KJV

"And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay."

God didn't plan that a fellow escapes Jerusalem and then escapes Philip the evangelist. If he does, he'll cross continental boundaries into his country empty handed and heart emptied. Don't forget that this eunuch is said to be a man of influence who serves under Candace, queen of the Ethiopian. God is after influential people. The door that an influential man can open through his influence to the gospel is actually of emphasis. All of these comes from someone's heeding "join yourself to this chariot". If the major political officers of your country receives Jesus and become disciples, your nation may begin to be kingdom like.

Are you hearing your call today? That brother or sister must not bypass you. You know whom God is saying already. He is just pointing a finger to the fellow for you. God is saying "stop looking for chariots that might or might not pass. It is this current one going on I'm saying You should join."  If God is saying, join yourself to him or her in whatsoever level of relationship, I'll like you take it for what God calls it even if you don't see the prospects. God is your eyes and why He's saying "join yourself" might not be clear to you until you actually join yourself to such chariot (person or individual).

Also, this is a call to be sensitive to recognize those who have been made ready by their afore contact with the gospel but yearns for salvation (but who knows not how to go about it). I sense God is calling you to a finished work. He wants the honour to be yours. He has done the work but wants it to be labelled "if not for you". This is God's quick work which He wants to do upon the earth. Look, today, when you hear the voice that says " join yourself to that chariot", do not rebel. Like Philip, displayed great faith and rather proceeded to carry that instruction out. Don't mind how the Ethiopian eunuch look or his nationality in being joined to him etc. Once you contact him, it is good things to the satisfaction of your soul that will come from there. If God is saying that's the fellow and you're afraid because you don't want people label you as a gold digger, I'll say "don't miss your chariot." Who instructs you is greater than those who accuses you. Beware that the chariot however waits for no one. Even if it waits for awhile, it shall move consequently. So, let me say today is the day of salvation (day of acting), tomorrow might be too late.

GOD'S FAITHFULNESS IS PROVEN

Read Exodus 2:1-9

Exodus 2:4-5, KJV

"4 And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.5 And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it."

Do you know that the Lord is faithful? The heathen must know and cover their mouth with their hands. Saints in Christ must see and to Him glory. Look, if there's no hand to receive you, one hand won't let you down. Even before your arrival, He takes thought for you.

The case of Moses reveals a God that won't let you be stranded wherever and at whatever time. It doesn't matter those who are watching how your end would look. If no strand of hair falls off without God's knowing, it means nothing happens to you without God's acknowledgement and permission first of all also. From this, you should draw assurance that you're always in the hands of God even if you're alone now. Moses was just a baby. His own case is worst than Joseph's. Joseph was an adolescent sold into slavery though without parents or one to point to as a familiar face. Moses when he was dropped by the river found himself in a bad condition than Joseph. He was not only without parents but defenseless since he was just three months old. What could a baby do if an ant or snake crawls on him? If we agree he's against these protected, what would he do if a hand comes to collect him away? He wouldn't have resisted. That's why God ensured Moses fell into the right hands.

To test whether God is faithful or not, one character proved God for us though she did out of curiosity. Moses' sister wouldn't go. Something held her still to continue to watch this season movie and see where it would end and where Moses would fall. She therefore hide herself in the bush at a vantage distance where she could see any transaction happening to baby Moses. What a connection between the siblings. Blood is powerful indeed. It brings two or more together in unbreakable bond. While she watches, she saw in queenly garments a figure arriving at the river. What could this mean? That's how the woman drew Moses from the water. As the contemplation was going on, she came out and suggested if her royalty would need a nurse. Yours truly, that's how the boy's mother nurses her own child. Imagine that! When it seems there was no hope, God rose one for Moses and preserved a prophet for Israel. Is it not because of situations like this that we have a scripture like the one below written for our exhortation.

Psalms 27:10, KJV

"When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

Don't forget that clause, "the Lord will take me up." If that's the only verse you remember when you're deserted but surrounded, you'll beat the devil cyclically again and again. Are you a student on campus lacking support? It may not be to your sponsors' joy but don't forget God will take you up. Adoption is a reality. I was adopted on campus by many parents. Different people put money down at different times I needed it. My father had passed on and the burden was just too heavy on my Mama. Are you a missionary or minister who's forlorn in the field? Is the quarterly widow's mite promised you not coming again? The Lord will take you up. Wherever and on whatever you feel this is the end; may I announce, that's the beginning. My Father, you're the One I cry unto day and night. You also freely gave Jesus to us. If you gave this your best, will you withdraw any other good thing from us? Will you not rather freely give us all things to enjoy? I affirm it can't but be. I pray for all forlorn and those at a juncture where like Moses' sister watches what would become of themselves and their situations. It may look like you're in the midst of the sea and you're drowning. You might even have taken some gulps of water but salvation that arises in Zion for Israel shall arise for you today. When you're in no man's land, at the verge of being finished or on the road of being ended, help in time of need: an immediate help shall come your way. If Pharaoh's daughter didn't miss her time but hearkened to God to move to the saving of Moses when an invisible hand stirred her up, none would miss his time to aid you.

PRAYER: Your faithfulness is proven. Moses' sister waited and saw it. I am waiting, let me see it.

THOSE ASKING HOW THIS THING SHALL BE

READ Luke 1:26-35

Luke 1:34-35, KJV

"34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God".

This is what Gabriel, God's messenger angel told Mary, the virgin. Why Mary wouldn't believe in her giving birth to a child was because she hasn't known any man. We should all question the possibility of becoming pregnant and giving birth if one doesn't have intercourse. How will that be? It is this realistic question she asked Gabriel that made Gabriel respond with the response we have as our quotation. We all know with man, it is impossible but with God or by the Spirit's aid, all things are possible. How? The power of the Most High will overshadow Mary and that will result in her being able to conceive supernaturally and do that which she couldn't have done except she has intercourse with a man.

There be those asking how these things shall come to pass for them as well. Before Mary asked how this thing would be, she was told what would be. Have you been told what would be? What will come to pass shortly through you but which you wonder in great curiosity how they'll be. This message is for you. How all the 'impossibilities' communicated to you will be is by the Holy Spirit overshadowing you. You just need the Spirit's touch and aid to do the unnatural and you'll begin to see the manifestations of what you wonder how they'll be. Mary didn't get pregnant by the will of man. That holy thing was conceived supernaturally. All the prophecies you have received concerning being the head of nations will not come to pass by your desire or hard work superiorly but by God's Spirit aiding you. Only the Spirit makes difficult things easy. How do the sick, the deaf, the blind, the halt, the lunatic etc get healed? It is by God's Spirit overshadowing a minister and using him to touch them. Healing doesn't happen by the minister remaining man but rather being altered as a man through whom the oil could flow. It's that oil otherwise known as the anointing or Holy Spirit that now heals. How could a man in his lifetime take the gospel to the ends of the earth and plant churches at every five minutes trek of every place? How easy is it turning a jungle into a city where the headquarters would be settled to draw all races to itself if not through the handle of the calling leveraged on by the Holy Spirit overshadowing one? How could a nonentity and the despised build orphanages, schools, health institutions e.t.c from his calling if not for the Holy Spirit that has overshadowed him and now makes him able to get this done? Do you think it's easy opening branches? In the secular, people have retail outlets. Ask them how difficult it is for them opening another one let alone going from nations to nations and having branches where they don't know people from Adams. That is why Gabriel said to Mary, "Don't worry. I know it is a difficult, hard and impossible task. Meanwhile, with and by the Spirit, it is accomplishable. What will happen won't be by or through any man but by the Holy Spirit's overshadowing (aiding) you.

Look, there's nothing that can't be cracked by the Holy Ghost. He masters all impossibilities and makes them answers. If you have received a promise, prophecy or a revelation of what to become but same seems too gigantic in your sight, don't fight it but surrender to it in order to be the vessel on which they'll be done. Just believe by the Spirit's aiding or swallowing you up that nothing shall be impossible. Today, the testimony that they'll begin to give concerning you and I is "by the Spirit", even if the thing to do is harder than a stone.

PRAYER: Lord, anoint me afresh for my assignments - to fulfill calling (destiny). Anoint me specifically for  (mention them).

BOW ABIDING IN STRENGTH

Read Daniel 3:23-27

Genesis 49:23-24, KJV

"23 The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him: 24 But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:"

May your bow abide in strength despite all. Only few do have the experience of this blessing in their lives. After being fought, grieved and assaulted, people do become reactors of those actions. Whenever they become reactors to such, it means they've finally being gotten. The impact of the launcher upon them has finally come to pass. Indeed, the enemy is progressing over them.

Jacob said of Joseph as he that the archers have worried. The archers are his brothers. They sorely maltreated him. At their selling him off, he faced hell in slavery through their that singular action. However, he abode in strength. How do we ascertain that Joseph's bow abode in strength? There's no trace of their act on him. They intended it for evil but God meant it for good. If you read about the Hebrew men that were thrown into the furnace, we were told that the fire had no impact on them. The place of the action of people against you not having its intended purpose though they have directly face you to wreck you down is the place where your bow abide in strength. We were told that the fire never had any impact on them. It was not even felt they were once thrown into the fire after being called forth. No smell of it let alone their being singed. They rather remained as they were before they were thrown into the furnace. These are golden boys who refused to melt by divine aid at the sight of what should subdue and end their lives. In this wise, we'll say they endured, abode in strength and remained constant or valiant in battle. They mock the enemy's devices at them!

You must know that the nature man carries is not "built to last". He's mortal. We learnt he's dust and so he is susceptible to weariness but whenever immortality steps in like it did for these Hebrew boys, the fight is prolonged, the desire of the enemy becomes an irony and evil is turned to good and then you could go on fighting without wearing down though all siege is against you. If not for the Almighty encouraging Joseph through the relieves He constantly gave him in form of his being the head after all, he would have crumbled. His salvation whenever he enters into trouble until he was perfected is an encouragement that emboldens him to trust He who helped him over the paws of the lion and the bear Who's more able to help him over the Goliath of things still in front.

Joseph was fought. He was seriously grieved. Being grieved means being frustrated but the testimony was that he didn't become bitter let alone become the outcome of his being seriously and bitterly worried. I pray for you that you won't manifest the intention of ancestral spirit and those who intend your wreckage. At the end of the day, he still told his brother that they meant it for evil but God meant it for good [Gen.50:20]. Now, this testimony is an unusual one. It reveals he who passes through the water who didn't get touched by it. That was the testimony of any not affected or made bitter by whatsoever evil done at him. Those who naturally give such witness are those nothing is unleased at and has never experienced a thing that'll trigger bitterness. However, for men who have been sorely grieved by their bosses, step father/mother, siblings, parents, friends e.t.c to speak in that manner, that is rare and ain't normal. What they should speak and seek is revenge but count a Joseph out. His bow abide in strength and so he could confess and act as one. Look, today, because you're waiting on the Lord, you'll renew your strength. You won't get to a breaking point intended for you. Divine intervention and resources would aid you and you shall know the life that endures though the target of hell and men from all sides is to wreck you down. I pronounce on you endurance in battle and then victory at last. You will wear out all enemies wearing at your shield. Your testimony would be that of a fighter who refuses to burn out despite the attack's concentration. Your testimony is that of a candle who refuses to burn down despite being used! That's mysterious. Tell me how possible except by the Lord who could make the arms of your hands strong and not for once go down.

PRAYER: Lord, make my mountain strong. Let my bow abide in strength. Irrespective of the evil or difficulties life will throw at me, may I not wane in strength. I won't be bitter let alone repay evil with evil. He who comes from above is above all.

THE BEGINNING OF MY STRENGTH

Genesis 49:3, KJV

"Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power".

I have heard people speak of the very first thing they possess in this life. They've spoken of the first car they used, first house they lived in, first job they got and the first naming ceremony they did. What is first in our lives is unusual and even if the celebration of its appearance is lowly, after we might have grown into the future of our years, we still recall them as the peculiar unto which others that follow can't aspire to. While it is the predecessor of modern day events or happenings of same nature in our lives, yet we accord it the place of being the foundation on which others were casted. To you parents, try remembering how the birth of your first born went. What joy filled your heart; how you felt with your first pregnancy e.t.c.

Jacob said of Reuben as his first born and might. He can't speak of Joseph or Benjamin that way because they were children of his old age. Meanwhile, it was Reuben that changed his status and for the very first time, same made people to turn to him and address him as a "father". The first time they were knowing the joy of parents, Reuben brought them into it. It is like the very first time you'll have the taste of sexual ecstasy, somebody will bring you into it. That first experience of what happened and how you were brought into it can't just be forgotten. That's why God calls sex sacred and restrict it to marriage because of the memory of it that if you cleanse can't go. Till Reuben's birth, Jacob was only a husband but when Reuben was born, a testimony went forth about him as a man of no more mean status.

He said, "Thou art my first born, my might and the beginning of my strength..." What a thing! I have looked at albums and I have found the pictures of my parents with my sister and I. I saw that indeed, they were in the days of their strength compared to when children of later days came into their lives. At that time also, they didn't have many things they later possessed but they would always be forever grateful for that beginning that sets them in motion. If Jacob said Reuben was the child of his strength, it means the child of his youth. There's a time a young man is new, strong and full of vigour. There's a time he's just starting out on the road of who he'll finally become and be known for - you call that the beginning of his strength. The beginning of the manifestation of the greatness and successes that he'll later accrue and be altogether celebrated for. For instance, Jacob had thirteen children but it was one, this particular Reuben that sets him on the motion and journey of being a father. Before being a father to the other twelve, he was first to one. Before your earning in millions today, you probably earned in thousands which whenever you remember, you'll laugh and say, "those good old days" though those good old days is smaller in manifestation to what/who you have become now. I pray for you that your number one will delight you. Number one is always incomparable to any other thing. My undergraduate days aren't to be compared with any other days of education. Those days were the beginning of my academic journey. A time that if you had looked at my face or see it in the picture, you won't even agree that Bro Sola is the one in the picture. I was just a young chap with a face that's likely to be despised. I knew nothing much about life. I was just stepping out but I have found grace to go ahead.

Everything that a man would become someday and somewhere would begin with the manifestation of a drop that would finally make an ocean there. That's why the plan of every parent for their first born is always but special. If Reuben was the beginning of his father's strength, his might; don't you think he looked forward to seeing him do well. Imagine you seeing your face on someone else for the first time with a knowing that this is mine. Reuben was the product of Jacob's very first achievement and then at the very beginning of his life. He would still give birth to other children but this child, this Datsun or Benz he first used sets in motion a line for others to come. You could see him posing beside it then with blessings of the elders and pastors. I pray that when you look back to behold the beginning of your days, the beginning of your manifestation somewhere and the exhibition of your strength and might somewhere, it would be for joy because that's what it should be. A first born is who the Papa wants to easily make a friend, confide in, groom up to take over and to cater for the rest. May what confers on us our first happiness not be a curse. It will just be intolerable.

MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE - Olusola ADEJUMO

FOR HOW LONG...?

Read I Kings 18:1-22

I Kings 18:21, KJV

"And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word".

God wants me ask you this same question also. "How long shall you limp between two options?" The nation Israel has slide into idolatry. Baalim has supplanted the worship of Yahweh. Persecution had risen against the prophets of the Lord. Many have been killed and only a remnant remained. Elijah who had been on a type of exile after the shutting of heaven by his words has now returned home at the instruction of the Lord. These words of Elijah had afore led to no small famine in the land.

At his appearance, Elijah hearkened to do as the Lord had said - to show himself to Ahab, so that God might send rain. On such occasion, after the gathering of the people, the prophets of Baal and of the groves who ate at Jezebel's table to Mount Carmel, Elijah asked the people, "How long will ye limp between two options? If the Lord is God or Baal, follow either".

Just like God put it in Elijah's mouth to ask Israel of harlotry, God is putting it in my mouth to ask any Christian reading this and all in the body of Christ worldwide. He's saying, your days of sitting on the fence is over. You either give your loyalty to God or you properly and securely hold unto the world and its system. No one can serve two masters we have read many times. Yet, many Christians have not consciously made a choice of which to serve and follow. No wonder, the confusion and so many contradictions in the body of Christ. This issue of not knowing where people really belong is causing so much trouble of identity. It has bred men who lack the fruits or life but who are full of confession to be Christ's.

I perceive that time for such double life and game is over as God is tired Himself and He's asking conclusively where you belong. God is being straightforward with you. He's saying, "Enough is enough. If Baal be God, follow him and if I be, follow Me".

When God put this question in my mouth, God told me to ask same of a lady colleague I had been preaching Christ to for over two months but who has neither received Christ nor find her foot in faith. She has been hoping between two belief systems: Christianity and Islam. She's a Northerner and one from a Christian/Muslim background. That evening, I sense God moving me desperately to ask her this question. I asked her and narrated this story to her in order to reveal God's mind to her. She responded to me better than she has ever done before and I was shocked.

Are you a Christian who's neither cold or hot or an outright sinner or unbeliever who's yet to make Jesus Christ his personal Lord and Saviour. Here comes your opportunity to make a choice today. Life and death are before you and like God almighty counselled Israel, I'll say, choose life. He who chooses life chooses Jesus.

PRAYER: I receive Jesus into my life. I rededicate my life to Him. Wherever I'm hoping between two opinions, I receive clarity on the best choice. We pray for the salvation of all in the region of darkness.

SICKNESS IS A ROBBER!

 SICKNESS IS A ROBBER!

You see, "sicknesses don't allow people have their lives". That's what the Spirit whispered to me in meditation that led to this teaching. When you are sick, you are brought under subduing to obey a particular rule. Such is taken captive to bear burden under such yoke.

Peter's mother in-law came to my mind. Some would term her sickness, "the little type". Yet, that little type collected the life of service and usefulness from her. Fever has killed many!

Matthew 8:14-15, KJV

"14 And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.  15  And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.

No one is sick that does what he feels like doing or should be doing. What they have potency, obsession, skill or flair for becomes hidden as if it doesn't exist at the face of being sick. Do you see sickness is a cheat and robber? If it is football, sewing, cooking, praying, writing, speaking he could do, all become second thought in sickness. Immediately, a restriction is placed on such, no matter how strong he is to begin to feel a contrary law: of death, corruption and weariness working in him.

I recently called a colleague friend. From the tone of her voice, I knew she was lying down and totally down. She was even trying to get a rest that has not been forthcoming. Her heart is diseased and she easily gets tired. I've forgotten what the doctor called that heart condition. Whenever the thing comes like this, other things must be packed aside no matter how obligated she may be to them to obey the pull and demands of those heart issues. This evening, I felt for her like never before. I even felt like having the transfer of her sickness to me in order to relieve her. I have felt this way for people when I see them in pain or groaning too deep to utter that shows they're just trying to survive. Have you seen people rolling all around before? They're on a soft, well padded bed but they still lack comfort. That shows, peace is first of all an internal issue and not otherwise.

Sickness is a thief. It comes to steal, kill and destroy. It models Satan in acts. I pray for her, you or anyone that God will step in with His touch and have you healed so that you'll be qualified for service: usefulness to God and mankind. Peter's mother in-law rose up for service but that was not until her healing. May God heal you especially if your case is the type where you've been known to suffer assault for years or time being from just a repeated sickness or issue. You're healed! That prophet took salt and went to the spring issuing bitterness [II Kings 2:21-22]. Today, by the anointing I carry, this matter won't be treated twice or at its shoot level but once and at its root. May God go deep down, straightforward and far away into the foundations of this your health challenge. What is hidden that medical science or research couldn't figure out, may the anointing comprehend them. Light shines in darkness and it has not been reputed for once that darkness over-shone it. I say, receive a solution. Receive firmness and recovery.

Listen, your sickness can't be taken by me though I might have bowels of compassion towards your being healed just like I have for that lady. However, it is written that Jesus bore our grief - somebody already took it all. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him.

Isaiah 53:4, KJV

"Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted".

If that be, you were healed and may this be a revealing testimony now. All internal and external organs related issues are settled. May you be loosed and let go. May the demon governing that sickness or disease be bound while you enjoy your freedom.

WHEN THE LORD HAS NEED OF YOU

READ Mark 11:1-10

Mark 11:3,KJV

"And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither."

I want you to see that you'll be doing yourself a great favour if the Lord beckons on you and you hear. Men can call you but with a big no at hand for them. If the Lord does, I'll say, drop that which you have in your hands and follow.

Jesus sent the disciples to go to a place and bring a colt tied on which no man has ever ridden. What a virgin it was! He, knowing they might be questioned gave them words to say. It wasn't that Jesus had afore preplanned with the colt's owner. The beat which He believes would communicate to such, "the Lord has need of it" was therefore given to the disciples. That's the currency with which they went on that journey.

The Lord has need of it? Yes. That's His demand. If it is, let's give Him. You should be humble to learn from today's teaching. Those they met didn't delay them after they said the Lord has need of it. They immediately let them go with it.

May you for another or any with something for you let go at hearing God's voice. May God persuade them. What the Lord has need of is what He can't but get. That's how it should be though we have known some for their obstinacy and disagreement even in the face of the Lord has need of it. These are of the set that won't let go. These are of the set that their possessions are too heavy for them to part with. These are those who disdain God and do not esteem Him in act but can confess Him as Lord till tomorrow. For no one esteems God really that doesn't do so when sacrificial demands are made on him. Pharaoh won't let Israel go but Israel had to still go. God will do it.

The Lord has need of it! In the Yoruba culture of the Nigerian people, their ancient monarchs are known for exercising absolute authority. This authority was so far reaching that the king could see a young virgin and say, "she pleases me well. I'll have her for wife." All can't but agree even if they're not well pleased. It is the king. It is royalty that has made demand on them. It is not a man of mere presence. They'll even be honoured becoming in-law to the king though he's one with many wives already. Yet, there's honour, wealth and delight there. How much more you as a child of God? There should be nothing in God's will you stretch at without obtaining. It is the Lord that has need of it. It doesn't matter how costly it is, it's obtainable. If men would by cringing or feigning heed these kings, how much more the Royalty that gives royalty to royalty? We should see and fear. Jordan saw and fled. You must be touched also. The Lord has come. If He tells you I need you for this or that purpose, let go. Don't struggle with God. He only wants to bring you to a great estate. When the Lord told Peter to lend him His boat which he did, the Lord rewarded him with the catch he had never caught before. Afterwards, the Lord made a final demand on him by saying, "follow me and I'll make you fishers of men." You can tell whether after Peter's heeding of this call he wasted away or grew in relevance.

Is there any God has been saying, "I have need of you to there but who's withholding?" Are there parents there who are withholding their children from their God's will for marriage? Those words have not changed. It is still, "the Lord has need of them." You should hear, be touched and submit. Come to the acknowledgement that it is the Lord and not the disciples you're seeing in their irrelevance who came to make the tender.

I pray that like a man lacking strong will, you'll follow God just like that once this demand comes. May God persuade any that's contending on making a release somewhere. May you not be hindered from the future you could have featured in with this man or woman likened unto Jesus. That colt later was honoured just like Jesus. People were spreading clothes and branches on the ground for it to pass. You can't go with a special demand on you and not be made special on the road of that demand. You, give it a try.

PRAYER: Lord, I submit to your demand over me. Nothing I possess will be held back from Your service. All that's mine is Yours and Yours first of all.

CHILDREN OF ONE'S YOUTH

Psalms 127:4, KJV

"As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth."

It is a blessing having children in one's youth. Or let me say, it is a better blessing.

We must know that some things are best done and verily beautiful when they happen without trespassing the appropriate time for it. You can't be graduating as an undergraduate at forty and think you're a superstar. The media might take notice of your perseverance and success but it isn't a very nice testimony.  "As arrows are in the hand of a warrior, so are CHILDREN OF ONE'S YOUTH."

That place didn't read, " children of one's old age." So, if you're giving birth late when as a woman for instance, you should have closed all under 35 or 40, the result might face one. That's why that place says, "just like arrows are in a warrior's hand, so are children of one's youth." Why don't you ask why children of one's youth is likened to arrows in a warrior's hand?

It takes a fellow who's also a youth - with strength, initiative, skill, aspiration etc to harness a growing child and shape such into what God would desire he becomes. Parents are moulders and if issues break forth into their arms when there is still capacity and interest of a youth for adequate training there, you'll see them bring a force into grooming such child into becoming one that could be sent on an errand of destiny without being afraid.

If a man has a child at sixty, the man would be eighty by the time the child hits 20. Is it an eighty year old man that wants to train a complete child at that old age? You know youths. Despite the fact that many parents are youths also who are still relevant in the world of their children, these children wearies them and see them as far back and ancient. Now, is it an eighty year old man that would now do better? The old man might be too feeble curbing his youthful exuberance. He'll be tired and let him be. Yet, God doesn't want that. That's why that place read, "...so are children of one's youth."

Only children of your youth are like arrows in a warrior's hand. A warrior is a trained fellow. Arrow itself is useless even when polished without a handler. It would just be in the quiver without its purpose for invention being accomplished. If arrows - polished arrows, made ready for battle should however find its way into the hands of a warrior - one who's skillful in shooting it, you'll see what he'll achieve with that arrow. You will watch with mouth agape how someone uses arrows to accomplish great things. Yet, you had tried doing the same but it was not happening for you. The difference is that he is trained to use arrows while you are untrained. Arrows don't use themselves. Men does. Unless they're concentrated in a man's hand, the destiny, endowment and potentials of arrows won't appear for recognition. Arrow can kill. It can injure. It can pierce. All these capacities of arrows would only be felt if the right person (fitted for the arrows and one the arrows are fitted for grabs it). Until then, expect nothing.

So also are children of one's youth. Since the parents are still young with so many dreams of what they might want these children to become - it is these dreams, thoughts and desire that would drive them into raising children that could discharge the potentials of arrows in them. Those of you with children, do you know how to use your children? Do you know what to turn them into? Arrows in a warrior's hands are turned into killers. That's its purpose. Children in your hands would become what?

I pray that this God's free gift in your hands would be trained in God's fear, discipline and knowledge that their discharge in life would appear so different and contrast from those raised by those not in their youths. Have you not observe that children grandparents helped their own children raise are always over pampered. Instead of their lording it over those children in godliness and enforcing their godly will on them for a better future, it's such children that dictates things. They'll be eating without brushing! Why? The grandparents strong will or forces has done what it could do in raising the parents. At their stage, it has pedaled down into accommodating and tolerating. That's why you'll see grandparents advocate their grandchildren from being dealt with many times by their parents who are still focused in discipline and what should be. Force of leadership can reduce by age too. This and many more contributes to the raising of arrows.

God has you in mind. Today is your day, it won't be tomorrow. The waiting mothers would receive opening of womb and those due for marriage shall marry. Some things are best done in your youth.

PRAYER: Lord, teach me the harnessing of arrows. May I bring up children to meet purpose.

ON GOD!

READ John 5:1-6

John 5:3, KJV

"In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water."

May God come through for you. If He has not, you'll have to stay put. You'll have to lay low. Unless there's a move, no one moves. You can't manufacture what is not there. If you do, it won't yield to you. Today, I am caught up in the Spirit of the Lord and wholly praying that God will show you His mercy. I'm praying that God will at this time come for you. Unless He comes, you won't stop hoping, anticipating and remaining on tip toe. Until He comes, you'll still be desirous of your situation being amended. Why are we all looking unto heaven? Why were the invalids all seated with rapt attention and observation? They were waiting for their situation changer. The herald of joy whose feet announces healing.

"...waiting for the moving of the water."

An elderly friend of mine who trades in Forex as a master was explaining the movement of Forex charts to me sometimes ago. He was saying, "once this happens like this and that happens like that, it's then he'll make his move and take the profit." You know, it's like getting into the flow of something when it flows. Great generals have learnt one thing: when to strike and when to refrain! Until what that my friend said would happen the way he only best knows how to describe happens, he will rather patiently wait for it to happen that way. He is not in a hurry. He has said his life depends on being awake while following the charts intricately with minor distraction. I was shocked at the rapt attention he gives to that thing. That's all because of money and it does pays him off.

Did you see the wonder of God also? We are needy ones who seek the big God for his needs. So, we wait. We all are leaning on God. It is He we have found to unburden to. All of us are just pilgrims at His corridor and balcony. Do you know how many in the whole world send requests to God daily? They want to collect from God. Pullings here and there. All on God.The invalids represent each of us that will always have a need to meet. Unless God shows up for us, we'll but continue to pray, trust and exercise faith.  That place says, "waiting for the stirring of the water."

The opportunity to come is the stirred water. The bus they must not miss; but till then, they will be seen waiting, observing; at readiness and attention to take this opportunity and ride on its ability, potential and what it has to offer to settle their need. It's like a man whose debtors must pay him before he settles his obligations. He'll wait till then.

Currently, I'm also waiting for the stirring of the water in a particular area. I've been trusting God to take a step for years. Once the water is clearly seen to have been troubled, I'll be signalled it's time to act but I'm awaiting Him to show off with the final confirming sign of stirring the water as He assures. That's going to be the last sign that will say I should get into active activity of that thing. Until then, I'll have to be full of ears all around my body to detect when the opportunity has presented itself for me to take. I must be able to hit the candle stick or wicket sticks with the ball once that time strikes. The stirring of the water is what signals the jumping into the pool. Without that, no waiter launches into the pool. You may be ready like sin that crouches at the door or like a lion that prowls around looking for whom to devour. However, if the opportunity do not avail itself, you can't still take it. I therefore pray that there will be the stirring of the water now. Let there be a violent reaction. A great warming up. A great signalling and awakening. Let your opportunity, my opportunity, our opportunity show up. Let the transportation we will take show up. I ask for an eruption. A great violence and reaction in the spirit which will birth a physical manifestation in reality that will signal you to move. My spirit picks an image now. It's of sprinters awaiting a shot into the air. You will hear that shot. You won't tarry again but go on this long awaited journey of expectation. The shot is shot, sprint!

JOY IN FULL

John 16:24, KJV

“Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.”

God is after our joy being full. A man without full joy will have diminished strength. He will not be full of activity nor zealous to participate actively in life. He will just be coasting along. There are those that are looking unto God for one thing or the other. This thing has become too tarried that they have lost appetite even for spiritual things. Fervency is reducing and there is a weariness not to continue hoping in their soul. When we gather, we do not know who is crying because everything tends to be good at appearance. He is well dressed with smell of perfume vibrating all around but who knows if such fellow’s joy isn’t complete. While he is well off in other areas yet there is an area that seems he has not received answers. So he is inadequate, deficient and handicapped. Some needed to be married at least for their joy to be complete. She is over thirty and nobody is forthcoming. Some needed to give birth even if it is once so that their joy will be fulfilled. Some need healing and deliverance from a sickness that has made itself a drama so that their joy may be complete. Just various needs.

Fullness of joy is in the presence of God. The Bible also says the joy of the Lord is your strength. If a man’s joy is however lacking, it will show in the reluctance and inactivity of that fellow. He won’t be willing to engage in day to day businesses as it ought to be because he will be feeling a sense of being cheated and derided a thing.  He won’t just be delighte. A thing is eating up his soul, causing pain and disturbance (Nehemiah 8:10).

Naomi was such a woman whose joy was not complete until Obed was brought forth. What did her neighbours say?

Ruth 4:14-15, KJV

“14 And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the Lord, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel. 15 And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons hath born him.”

They knew that Naomi was no longer herself since the lost of her husband and children. Since she came back empty, her life has been eaten away. Nourishment came back to her at the birth of this baby boy who could continue in the name of the dead. As a matter of fact, his birth restored Naomi’s life. She was hurriedly aging but when her joy was complete, life was renewed to her and she senses a reason to continue to live on. It was then life made sense.

David knew what it means for one’s joy not to be complete. He knows such will be lacking in the exhibition of strength. So he said:

Psalm 51:8, KJV

“Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.”

Broken bones inside a man is the state of his heart. He is in a depressing mood. His head is bowed inside him like a reed. No encouragement. He just lives to cope with life until something happens that will awaken his innermost. Like a resurrected person from the dead, he will suddenly be conscious of a new life. Jacob was a dying man until he saw evidences that Joseph was alive. When he heard joy and gladness, a kind of revival surged in him. He was made firm.

Genesis 45:27, KJV

“And they told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said unto them: and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father was revived".

That was the soul that was contented to settle for less and just ebb away like that. At the hearing of good news, there was a return of life and vitality, hope and strength to it. By the reason of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, I collect joy for you so that your strength may be complete. Anything denying you joy is judged. A special access has been given you today to ask for your joy and it shall not be denied you.

PRAYER: Make my joy indeed full. Let your joy be my strength. Revive me; let me be robust and full of activity. I refuse to be bowed down but joy in the victory Jesus bought me. Today, I begin to hear joy and good news.

IT IS BROKEN

Read Luke 5: 1-8

Psalms 18:34, KJV

"He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms."

There are people God is revealing to me today. The first are those struggling to subdue and have it answer them. Others are those who by reasons of grace, gift, promise, prophecy or the anointing and other divine elements always have it quick and easily subdued for themselves.

Jacob was asked why it was fast for him. He said because the Lord your God (of his father, Isaac) brought it to him very quickly [Genesis 27:1-20]. There's always the God factor and I want it catch your attention today. We know Jacob lied but rather fetched his meat at home. Yet, through what he said, we are brought the revelation of God helping one to possess, conquer, master, subdue or receive on time.

In today's verse, we read David's testimony. What was his testimony? He said, "it is the Lord who teaches my hands to war and to bend a bow of bronze." Without any sense of shame, he ascribed his achievement of being able to do difficult things to God. Hope you can flamboyantly do same. You may not know but he was saying that from a deep sense of gratitude. He was not saying it to boast but if you say he did, then his boast is still acceptable since it was a boast in the Lord.

What did the Lord help him master? A bow of bronze. An artificial metal produced from iron, harder and more elastic than elemental iron; used figuratively as a symbol of hardness.

That's a bronze or steel. God helped David to bend it. Bending it means exercising a kind of dominion over it. Don't forget that steel is difficult to bend but God armed him to bend it. That's the God factor (God's teaching or special personalized instruction to him). Look, the God factor makes difficult things easy for you. David was blessing the God who helped him to bend a bow of steel. As it is being shown me, it's time for you to have such testimony of having defeated something hard and unbending. Look, the hands of David were made able to master and bring under subjection the strength of this bow of bronze. What are you trying to master that's not yielding, I say "they're broken! That's what I'm hearing". Look, difficult things become easy at God's spoken word. That's your leverage in this kingdom. Peter toiled all night but when he repeated that same act at the word of Jesus that bids him to try again, it was an emptying of the sea into the boats. At my own prophecy today as God's anointed, I say, 'they're broken'. Every difficult things in your life; the things you've been fighting but have been resisting: proving unsubmissive. I heard, "they're broken". It is broken therefore means it is finished. Difficult things have yielded today. They have snapped open for you. To build your house or complete it; to travel to your land of promise; to profer solution to an academic or social problem; to pay debt or raise money; to be freed of sickness, diseases or curses etc - all are broken and solved. Because God is subduing them for you by the anointing, you shall therefore find them submissive. When you labour where you've laboured but without profit before, because it has been broken and solved for you at God's Word, you'll see you'll come back with excellent and compensating results this time. It is now walk over. No more expending of energy and hitting of your head on the wall. I heard, " it is broken. It stands fast and changes not!"

PRAYER: I receive the testimony of "it is broken and solved" in Jesus name. I share same soonest.

YOU CAN STILL OVERTAKE AND RECOVER ALL

Read I Sam 30:1-15

1 Samuel 30:8, KJV

"And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all".

At the arrival of David and his men, they found out that all theirs: including wives and children have been raided away and Ziklag burnt with fire. They wept until they had no strength to weep again. The discouragement towers so much that many people spoke of stoning David for their wives and children led away in captivity. Mark that! When people are offended, they transfer their aggression and one of such that receives such vehemence is their leader. Human nature is always looking for someone to blame or hold responsible. This is why a leader must have a big heart. Like we read, David encouraged himself in the Lord. When there's no encouragement coming externally again, may you still have a lamp in you burning to your salvation. On that note, he enquired of God and was told to pursue and that he'll overtake and recover all.

Is any there who's saying, "Mine is too late. I came really late. I should have followed this passion of mine some years back. Now, I'm already left behind. Look at me, not even a child since my years of marriage."

Do you know the encouragement I'm receiving for you this morning. "That you'll go all the way and equalize". "Equalize" here is not competition but God is saying, the possibility of having been behind is as real as the possibility of catching up. You'll become all what others have become. This teaching is not only to delight you or console you but it's actually the practical truth being uttered and not a teaching done to just stimulate you.

Did you not see how impossible it was for David catching up with those raiders? Already, they left days ago. Even at arrival of David and his men when they could have pursued, it was cry they were crying and emotions they were expressing. Activity they could have gone about once and for all is what they later did and not immediately at discovery of what happened. Yet, because the Lord said it, there was a divine catch up. Listen to me, without the anointing, divine things are unobtainable. It is the anointing that reaches for them in the spirit and imparts them into our lives. How far or great have you been left behind? I say, let there be a divine catch up! When we say you'll catch up, we do not intend that other colleagues who have ran or achieved ahead of you would be stagnant and not progress again. It only means God will double you up to catch up. You'll do double of their work to catch up. Like Elijah ran to catch up because God hastened his steps and eliminated stumbling blocks off his way (I Kings 18:46). Did you not read there that David pursued? When the revelation dawned on David to pursue and he did, he didn't give room for wastage of time or distraction again. His two hundred men who were so weak to continue were left to stay behind. They did not bear unnecessary burden with them. That's wisdom for catch up. You see, when the anointing has come to aid you to catch up, your eyes would open to all areas where the devil had had handles into your life to delay you or hold you back. You'll do away with wastage of time that makes a man think trickles of time aren't as important as the entire twenty four hours.

Today, you're catching up because by the Word of His mouth which won't go back, God is causing you to catch up. Like David met help on the way through that fainted servant of the Amalekite, God would give you those who would help you achieve easily your dreams. They'll help you locate your dreams and wealth in life. These may be mentors in your calling or career. Fathers or mothers who have mastered the vocation and could give you in two statements what it takes to succeed. So, how won't you make it since your coach like that Egyptian knows where the destination is and is pointing specifically to you where the Amalekite with his host have built their camp to stop over? They'll accommodate you and put their resources at your disposal. The encouragement this morning is to stop weeping over the years spent in sin and non discovery of purposeful living. Now that the time of ignorance has passed, rise and pursue. Pursuing is deliberate. Give it attention until you catch up with your mates who have reached destination or are nearing it. Look, when you pursue rightly, overtaking is possible, then recovery. What is recovery? If you ought to have been a Dr. or Prof., it is still possible. If you ought to have built houses and own properties, it is still possible. All the gains that should come out from your pursuing purpose at the time it should have been pursued which others already accrue are still possible. Today, you overtake and recover all.

PRAYER: I overtake and recover all. In pursuing, let me do so in determination. I refute distraction.

INCREASING IN LEARNING

Proverbs 1:5, KJV

"A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels".

What we know is lesser than what we don't know. That is why we give effort to know. Despite this untiring effort to know, nobody really knows. No one really knows because the knowledge he has known is still very limited to what he should or could know. Daily discovery of new things astound and reveal us as just new nursery learners in school. This should put us on tip toes to learn.

The truth is that you can increase or diminish in learning. The man that hears and increases in learning is a wise man that doesn't want to become a fool by time. He's already wise. That's a man that has knowledge and could apply them. Meanwhile, one thing keeps happening to that man. He hears more and as he does, he increases in learning. He observes them all contrary to what some would have embraced which is to stop or diminish in learning since they already have a wealth of knowledge. This man rather goes on to allow the information that comes his way nourish him.

One can easily be deceived especially if he is well read. He can use it to pull rank. He can even get to a place where he is satisfied having books in his library but self deceived, he doesn't need to read them again. A satisfaction of "I have knowledge in books" and not "at heart" can creep in. When it does, a once upon wise man will eventually become foolish. The day anyone stops putting extra on what he has known already is the day that his doom approaches. His day will begin to be numbered. The vast estate he has built by much attention to wisdom and instruction will by time develop cracks.

It takes perpetual humility to regard oneself as a student. No matter the level you've attained, you're actually still a student and you must see yourself so. The Bible speaks of a wise man who hears and increases learning. He is already wise and is qualified to say "I'm full", but he rather covets more knowing fully well that the sustainment of his life and whatsoever system around him is actually based on daily increment of learning. One wisdom and the tapping into a knowledge brought you to where you are. What will take you from where you are to another place where you should be is another knowledge or wisdom. Despising it means maintaining a stationary position. You may long for a change of levels but if you resist the knowledge and wisdom that promotes and translates, you'll but stay on one level.

Proverbs 9:9, KJV

"Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning"

With another like Bible passage, it seems to me that a wise man benefits more from wisdom than a fool. That's why despite what he already has as an asset, he doesn't reproach wisdom or instruction. He knows it is his pathfinder. So,one thing becomes his outcome as he gives heed - he becomes more wiser, he increases in learning. He accumulates new things that he could call his. He keeps on growing and growing and growing. His growing just continues. Fools aren't like him. They reject instructions and instead of being brought out of simplicity, they die there. The wise increases in learning though the one who could have been self deceived to stop learning. That's why that place says "yet he becomes wiser". Does this tells you that the wise will become wiser and the fools become more foolish? The wise seems to be having more. Their great estate didn't quench their thirst for more. I remember a place with this saying:

"For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath" (Matthew  13:12).

Some are getting better by the day while some seems to observe the reversal also. Your not stopping to increase in learning even means the ability to keep challenging yourself to be a better person. Irrespective of what moral, lesson, doctrine, education you hold as supreme before, in the light of a better one, you're meant to forsake the outdated for the more prospering. You too, despite being already wise, you can yet be wiser. There's always room to be better in attainment.
