DO NOT CALL COMMON! - Beyond The Common Series 006

Acts 10:14, KJV

"But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean."

Surprisingly, some will still not let the sleeping dog lie. They rather are debating God. They are still full of jangling and will do anything to resist - even unto the shedding of blood.

Continuing from Peter's trance that was deeply examined yesterday; God still has some people in mind. They must not escape the sword of God's Word. It must divide right into their hearts and thoughts - discerning all that is hidden.

As the Holy Spirit is persuading me, I'm still hearing, "there are those who still say, I have never eaten anything unclean or common."

God is saying, "stop that!" Let that go. A change has come now. A new era! What I'm bringing to you is my will. I'm the initiator and I want you to receive it. I want you to accept it, love it and live with it. Many of you, God has brought you someone to marry or speak to about love but your response has been, "Lord, that one is not my size! We can't fit!" What you must know is that if it was the Lord who truly recommended the fellow, he or she would fit. You may not like it now but if you'll agree with it and go on this journey with the choice fellow, you'll see all the reasons and the joys that'll lace your journey.

While you're busy arguing, opening book after book, raising one argument after the other, God keeps saying also, "what I have made clean, call not common."

Let this rebuke, correction and God's insistence suffice. Don't push things further or else, you might miss God somewhere, join the wrong bus and be driven to a wrong destination that God never had in mind for you in particular. For anyone still arguing and saying, "I can't have to do with that person/people or place", your big time reply is, "what God has cleansed or where God has prepared, don't regard in the flesh." You can marry a Middle-Easterner (An Arab, Palestine or even a Jewish). You can marry any of the five races or the tribes that are on earth. You can live in a place that till now looks like a forbidden kingdom. As long as it's the Lord saying, go there or turn thee eastward, how can it be strange.

Stop seeing it as ordinary. Stop seeing that sister as all that appears. Stop believing that's how that brother will be economically and in other ramifications. Doing that is regarding men after the flesh. It's not knowing them in the correct picture that God would like you to see them - which He has given you of course. God might have told you to settle somewhere that doesn't fit your plan or fancy, I'll advise you to do just that whether a city or a town. Only Him knows the reasons and in the years to come, you'll uncover the same as you walk with Him.

Has God even called you to submit to someone as your discipler or mentor? Don't rate him as not being big enough. If it was God's mouth that said it, do so. If the sheet that came down came from heaven and not any other place, it's a reason for your Peter not to doubt. This is the Lord's doing if you're a Muslim or one of other belief/religion but God is saying, "come out of that now and put your faith in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son who died and rose for your sake." You'd better do so. Let go of the traditions and belief system that has ruled you till now. Let go of the fear of death and contrariness from persecutors from your [former] religion. There's no temptation that has taken you that's not common to men. Peter faced the same things for checking in with the Gentiles but everything was well later on (Acts 11:1-18). He who gave the vision will defend Himself before men when you're challenged. Summarily, what God has cleansed, don't call common. Stop regarding or knowing people in the flesh when God sees them differently, even as befitting people for you.

PRAYER: Lord, I submit to Your will. What you have cleansed (by way of preparation), I will not call common or regard as impossible.

COME OUT OF THAT VIEW! - Beyond The Common Series 005

Acts 10:15, KJV

"15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common."

God is calling some out of their prejudiced and biased view. It would have been okay and not sinful before God to hold that kind of view for some time - especially when it's your time of ignorance and you don't know any better. Now however that God is commanding a new thing and is asking you to come out of that view, you'd better heed Him.

One day, just one afternoon like that while they were making lunch for Peter, God came to him in a trance. How subtle and simple our God can announce Himself at times? In a trance, Peter sees all sorts of animals dropped by a sheet held on its four sides from heaven. What a sight! It would have been okay if the trance ended there but the 'temptation' of Peter continued. He heard a voice calling unto Him, "Rise Peter, kill and eat."

The voice called repeatedly but to no avail. All Peter could reply with was, "14 ...not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean." Yet, the Lord would not stop pressing it to him that there's therefore no more difference, separation or segregation - "15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common."

You would think Peter would eventually heed God's voice having known and proven that it was God calling out to him but all was just to no avail. He's just too entrenched to act! Peter has conclusively refused to allow his old dietary laws to be broken.

Some of us are as stubborn as Peter. You're as glued to your tradition, beliefs, prejudices, biases, sentiments as him. Even when God is offering assurance that "it is a cleansed meat", headily you'll still refuse to taste. Or what should we make of Peter? He's like one being piped to who still refuses to dance. What baffles me is that God told him to keep shut and to stop insisting that the meat He has cleansed was still unclean or common. God in His right senses came to Peter to call him out to plough the Gentile world. For that, He had to give him a corresponding conviction and a basis for doing something as absurd as evangelizing them (since the Jews were separated and don't fellowship with the Gentiles). To have proper conceptualization of this trance therefore, we'll need to examine a few symbols as this trance marks a turning point in the Gospel’s reach.

The sheet coming down from heaven symbolizes divine initiative. God is revealing something new, not man’s idea.

The sheet’s four corners may symbolize the four directions of the earth - universality of the Gospel. It means what was once restricted to Israel is now meant for all nations.

The variety of animals included clean and unclean animals (per Jewish law in Leviticus 11). For Peter, this is shocking. It breaks centuries of dietary distinctions that separated Jews from Gentiles. Symbolically, the animals represent all peoples: Jews (clean) and Gentiles (unclean), now united in Christ.

The command to “Kill and eat” equals fellowship, acceptance and communion. God is asking Peter to break through his old boundaries of ritual separation. The command pushes Peter beyond tradition into a new covenantal reality.

Peter’s resistance , “By no means, Lord…” reveals the tension: even apostles struggled with letting go of old categories or ways of doing things. His objection echoes Israel’s long history of faithfulness to the Law, yet God is moving them forward.

God’s response: “What God has made clean…” is the heart of the vision. Through Christ’s death and resurrection, purity and holiness are redefined. The cross breaks the old boundary lines of Jew versus Gentile, clean versus unclean. God Himself is the one who redefines what is “clean” - not human tradition.

The repetition (three times) equals emphasis and certainty. Consider the dreams doubled to Pharaoh which Joseph interpreted also (Gen.41:32). It mirrors Peter’s earlier threefold denial and threefold restoration (John 18 and 21). It underscores that this is God’s fixed will; Peter must accept it.

All in all, the symbolic and theological meanings would mean the inclusion of the Gentiles. The vision only came to prepare Peter to accept Cornelius (a Gentile) and his household into the faith (Acts 10:34–48). Let's answer for ourselves, Do we still categorize people into “clean” and “unclean,” “worthy” and “unworthy”? God’s voice rather speaks, “What God has made clean, do not call common.” The trance calls us to radical hospitality, unity and openness to God’s surprising work in people we might not expect. God has therefore redefined holiness, broken human barriers and opened the gospel to all nations. You cannot reverse that? Can a clay speak to the Potter saying, "what makes you" (Rom. 9:20)?

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for Your salvation plan that extends to the Gentile world. It is this that saved and brought me in. Teach me to steward what I've received and to truly see men in the newness of the new birth.

THE TURNING POINT: HITHERTO HAVE I COME - Beyond The Common Series 004

II Corinthians 5:16, ESV

"From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer."

Paul says in I Corinthians 13:11, "When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things."

May you grow in the revelational knowledge of Christ. When you do, you'll yield up some earthly and natural beliefs you've held of Christ. Where you've only esteemed Him as "a carpenter's son", you'll let go and esteem Him as Christ Jesus (Saviour). Even for a time, the apostles saw him in that light. Meanwhile, they reached a definitive moment - a turning point where their voice could culminate in Paul's and be voiced out saying, "from now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh..." even though they had once regarded Christ so. They rather swallowed and yielded it up. They let their old views give way to the new. Seeing people by worldly standards (wealth, appearance, race, gender - either male or female, intellect, heritage) isn't their true definition. That's your human judgement. By measuring through those, you will miss who they have become in Christ or in destiny.

For the born again man, old things have passed away. Rather, the new has come. As long as He is in Christ, any man or woman ought not to be regarded after the flesh any longer. Is there a brother or sister there that you once regarded and treated as a fornicator, thief, liar or whatsoever? The Bible is speaking to you concerning them. Their new reality is that they are none of those again because they are now born again. You shouldn't therefore reckon or regard them as such. Don't hold them down to their past lives or mistakes. The Bible is saying, "old things have passed away, behold, the new has come."

Look at their new spiritual side. Look at their new identity in Christ. Look at their new heritages and new creation realities. Those are their traits, their measures, inheritances and heritages.

Paul marked a turning point. After understanding the new creation in Christ (v.17), everything is now conceptualized and seen differently. The old indeed has passed away! Do you know the verse I just heard?

Romans 4:8, KJV

"Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin."

When any one tastes the experience this Psalm is describing, He's free of guilt, condemnation and any transgression that might have been afore credited into his account. He's rather clean and whole like a new born baby. If you trace his body, you'll therefore metaphorically not find any spot or mark once tainted by leprosy. Such had taken a bath in (River Jordan - a symbol of the rejected Christ that becomes the cornerstone for our salvation) and are now whole and healthy (II Kings 5:10-12).

No trace of sin or hold of sin on them any longer. They are free because God made them so. He released them. He forgave them. He bathed them with His own blood!

Now, nothing else reshapes how we see ourselves or other believers in Christ but faith. This includes how you see Christ Himself. If you don't have faith that your salvation is just as it has been described and testified of in the Bible, you cannot see it that way. Therefore, you'll experience what is called a reality distortion field. Instead of seeing people for who they are, you'll rather see them wrongly. Instead of hailing Christ in the lives of the brethren, you can still hold the prejudices of their former selves, backgrounds, mischiefs and humanness against them. This is short of the turning point you're called to in Christ. You must stop seeing men as trees! See them who God calls them in the completion of Chris's finished work.

PRAYER: Lord, whom you have forgiven is forgiven. May I see the new man you have created in any Christian around me. May I not tie them to their old lives.

FITTING TIME: MEETING NEED

FITTING TIME: MEETING NEED

Brethren, I want to direct your gazes to God. I want you to lift your eyes to the Rock that is higher than you. Look up!

Do things just happen or there's a wheel behind the turns? I have traveled far and near, heard stories from ancient civilizations and modern ones alike. It can be told boldly that behind what appears is the invisible hands of God directing things even if it's to our oblivion. It's like the turning of the gyre!

Consider this verse below, what do you see?

Acts 7:20, KJV

"In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father's house three months:"

Does anything strikes you?

In order to establish a good premise, order and footing, we ought to ask, "at what time was Moses born?" For that, let's read the verses that ran before this quoted verse.

Acts 7:17-19, KJV

"17 But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,

18 Till another king arose, which knew not Joseph.

19 The same dealt subtilly with our kindred, and evil entreated our fathers, so that they cast out their young children, to the end they might not live."

Now, follow that first posted verse - "in which time Moses was born..."

Let me ask you now, "...in what time or at what time was Moses born?"

Go back to the passage for the answer!

The answer would be, "He was born at a time when Hebrew children were being cast out to die."

Now, to the big question. Why would God allow any child - especially His intended saviour in Moses to be born at such a dangerous time as this? Like we do popularly say, "why should God have said amen to the coming together of Amram and Jochebed?" Why these questions? Basically because we just read from the Bible that Moses found no other time to be born into but when that 'disaster' like no other was at its peak. He came when as soon as he was born, his life was being demanded of him. Why would a child come around or into such a mess? Why would the Creator let loose a human spirit - especially the one that's critical to His purpose, allowing it to solidify and take flesh in Jochebed's womb and be born into the evil untold that has been claiming many babies' lives? Why? Why? Somebody answer my "why!"

Do you want me to tell you the wisdom of God? The wisdom of God is what ordains our time of birth on earth. It is not only our parts that are numbered and constantly before God (Psalm 139:16). Our days also have been totalled - summed up and known even before the commencement of our journey on earth. The Bible speaking of David says in Acts 13:36, "For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:"

Why was David not born at the time of Abraham or Jesus? The Bible says, "He served his own generation by the will of God..."

Why did he come in his own time - with his own batch - in his own generation? Why? Why not another? It couldn't have been another.

That's because, "different men are for different days" and all human spirits before God have their scheduled time - of entrance, manifestation or disappearance!

Some spirits don't stay to follow this order. They might be forced out of their bodies and mandated to return.

All human spirits that are before God that have not been released into what I can best call the 'foetus' [for easy understanding], or birthed are before God awaiting their time. When a couple meets together like we have written in Exodus 2:1, "And there went a man of the house of Levi and took to wife a daughter of Levi", that's when God sends a human spirit that has a destiny to fulfill on the earth into a time that God had foreknown. It is this that'll lead to conception, bringing us to the second verse of that same Exodus.

"2 And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months."

For conception to take place, God had to honour it with a spirit. Where do we see that in the Bible?

Jeremiah 1:5, KJV

"Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations."

Now, there are three periods to note in that single verse.

a. Before I formed you in the womb (pre-conception)

b. Before you came out of the womb (pre-birth)

c. I sanctified you and ordained you a prophet to the nations (pre-conception and birth)

Which of these do you think is the oldest of the periods? Which was the first God did? It's the C! God had sanctified (set apart) and ordained for Jeremiah and each of us what we should be even before we took shape in our mothers' wombs or were birthed.

That time of, "I sanctified or I ordained you to be XYZ" therefore preceded others and was the time that hint at our spirit being before God - even when it has not been released or sent to unite [with the fertilized egg] or what the thing is that denotes conception.

Your body is therefore not what keeps or custodies the script of your destiny! Your body only carries that encoding or programming out after having its revelation as God had intended.

Spirits that have not been born (taking this our body) or formed in the womb already have their destinies and what God plans they should become or do on earth [only that they are not on earth as babies now or in the womb as expected babies].

It therefore means every individual born by a woman is meant to only align with a life that God has ordained. That's what we call, "destiny." Only that, "destiny" or "calling" is not the same as "career." All humans are meant to fit together as pieces of puzzles in the larger will of God. They're meant to complement something of God [that He wants done the way He wants it done on earth]. However, amidst that larger community of men are those who will only roam the earth, be distracted by whatever reason to another life or path. In this number are the multitudes that are not even born again and those who'll never be but rather pass away without discovering or living the life God had written for them.

Having gone this far to establish that, it's therefore not strange to see why Moses was born at the heat of the killing of Hebrew children in Egypt. He came when he was needed! God had a purpose for releasing the human spirit eventually named Moses to Amram and Jochebed. That is basically because He has looked forward and put preparation in place towards fulfilling the promise He made to Abraham that his descendants would one day be exodused out of their house of slavery (Gen.15:13-14). Now, who's the instrument of God to accomplish that if not Moses?

Giving birth to Moses when Children were being cast out is part of God's hidden wisdom to begin to fulfill that - even if it seems in our eyes to ask what a baby could do.

But you'll agree with me that though a baby in Moses was born, it was an adult God sent and waited for to heed his call. Until you come to the realization of your call, God can therefore do nothing. So, God had factored those times of growth, wilderness experience and whatever into it all for Moses to be ready. I don't know a great planner like God. He plans till the end - till the day dawns!

That's why that verse could read, "in which time Moses was born..."

God's wisdom intentionally allowed his own conception at that time so that Moses can fit the time and time description God afore gave to Abraham as an expiration of Israel's slavery. That a man from the house of Levi went out, spoke with another woman of the house of Levi and married her at that time was not behind God at all. He had been influencing their decisions all along.

There's always a time designated by God for certain earthly events in our lives. You're to 'collide' with it! We only need to know it and align. Provision was waiting for Elijah by Brook Cherith. All he had to do was to take dressing and turn himself eastward (I Kings 17:3)!

That's why God was especially committed to saving Moses. It made no sense that Moses escaped death. We're all familiar with how it happened and how God had to nurse him on the authority and privileges of he who sought his life. This is nothing but the orchestration of God. No human could have made things this beautiful or work out a Mathematics as fine as this.

So, I can boldly say, your own child is not a misfit. God has a purpose for his or her coming. All things are even made ready for him. That he came into a Christian hands means he has an assignment and like an actor on the scene, God would like him to play his role. It's now left to you as a parent to sense this, communicate this and have him receive it as a revelation or uncover it personally as a discovery. There's a music to dance to its tune. God will spread the stage for you, raise help for you and make things beautiful for you in its time. The defiance is only if you forfeited it all and never trusted Him or see those opportunities as sensible to take in order to become God's intention.

Mark that clause once more - "in which time Moses was born..." He met with his right time - the designated time of God. He didn't fail to meet up with his time. Rather, he came in the heat of it when all has been set for his salvation and when God has ordained that all his bills be paid. He came when the plan for a saviour is critical and God is beginning to take an active stance on it. Though many people don't smell him as one, his mother (family) does. They could see that this is "a goodly (special child)." Moses' destiny could be perceived by their spiritual senses. They saw beyond the ordinary. That's why they risked it for three months and yielded him only to God when they couldn't any longer. Moses' parents literally walked or aligned with God for the salvation of Moses' life. So, Moses had to be saved.

Moses is a type of Jesus. As a matter of fact, Moses had a destiny similar to Jesus. He faced the same evil as Jesus. Interest you to know that Jesus also had to escape to Egypt (Matt.2:13-14) when male children's heads were called for. Moses also (though in Egypt already) had to live and be protected by the reserved right of Egypt - the Pharaoh himself.

That's why we could have this ancient prophecy fulfilled when Mathew says, "and out of Egypt have I called my son."

Matthew 2:15, KJV

"And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son."

Which prophet said what we just read in Matthew?

Hosea 11:1, KJV

"When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt."

Moses led Israel (God's son) out of a physical house of bondage - Egypt and from the terror of a hard master - Pharaoh. Jesus by destiny (Matt. 1:21) also led people out of the bondage of sin and death, translating them into the kingdom of light (of God's dear son) - Col. 1:13

Moses is a shadow of Jesus. He only spoke of a salvation to come which already came and found fulfillment in Jesus. As the nation Israel is God's son and was led out of Egypt (the house of bondage), so are you God's son and daughter that God had to give His first born for (in Jesus) to bring out of sin and the kingdom of darkness. You see, OT is a type and shadow!

Something had to be given! The night Israel left Egypt, all first born (humans and animals) died in the tenth plague (Exodus 11-12). Coupled with the deliverance of Israel through the blood of the passover lamb, we see nothing but a foreshadowing of Christ's death for our salvation.

The question now is whether you've received Jesus into your heart or not. If you do, you'll be brought out from the kingdom of darkness and be giving God's own life - eternal life (John 3:16).

To round off, Christian parents, that child on your knees has been prepared for if you'll know that. God doesn't send anybody here (to the earth) without shifting a space for them amidst the great and the strong and finding ways for them. Only that humans may not align or see God's resources to take. That's why only Jesus was recorded to have escaped the sword of Herod in His day also. He only has listening and connected to God parents. Step by step, the parents were receiving instructions for his living. So, he was preserved. The same can be said of Moses. Where the Bible says in Matthew 2:18, "In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not", Jesus' parents were comforted and delighted that God saved them.

"Rachel [is interpreted to mean the multitude of parents who lost children] who wept and refused to be comforted..." For short, let's say Israel!

That metaphor never extended to Jesus' parents as earlier spoken by Jeremiah, recalled and used to metaphorize the grief of Israel.

Jeremiah 31:15, KJV

"Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not."

Babies, your lot are different. The lines have fallen for you in pleasant places. You're welcome. You have arrived rightly. You couldn't have made this trip earlier or later in time. You came just in time - when you're needed and when God would want your race to begin and your time to start counting.

But amidst all, God also knows that this is your best time to play your role. You're not deficient. You're not a bench warmer. You're an active participant in life with something to give and do. You have a destiny - a need to meet in your day and a cure to give. You are a balm and a balsam to the nations.

I'm recalling that clause again, "in which time Moses was born..."

What a time! What a coincidence that meets with God's providence! What an hour! What a moment that collides with purpose, destiny and what the sovereign counsel of God has set to do!

Hallelujah! Rise and fill your vacant spaces! You're just the ones we're waiting for.

Amen!

MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL - Olusola & Oreoluwa ADEJUMO

THE TURNING POINT - Beyond The Common Series 003

II Corinthians 5:16, ESV

"From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer."

Like I started out with in the first series, I made you see that there was a time that Apostle Paul and even some other disciples might have had no other view or perception of Jesus but that of a mere mortal - as in, a man like ourselves. They could have called Him a rabbi, believed and respected Him as one. Things might not have transcended that. As a matter of fact, Jesus once knew this was true of many people. On an occasion, He therefore asked who the people were saying He was. Come and hear a lot of responses.

Matthew 16:14-17, KJV

"14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven."

Did you see that? Look at the multitude of things and titles Jesus was being called by different people. Each and everyone of the masses in His day held a view of Him. Some would say, "Kai, what a Jeremiah!" Another would declare, "He's John the Baptist no doubt." But does all these captions capture Jesus, or who He really is indeed and in truth. None actually does until Peter declares Him. As Jesus recognized of Peter, his declaration of Him was aided because of a revelation granted him to know who He (Christ is) truly.

It therefore means, it's possible to have someone so close to you yet misconstruing or misrepresenting who they are. The side that some have come to grab or grip of people may just be the wrong side. What they called their revelation of people may be human, biased, prejudiced and unhealthy. Unless it is corrected, you may not be able to relate or receive those people correctly or in the shade they're destined to be received or welcomed. That's why we have a verse like this written.

Matthew 10:41, KJV

"He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward."

Did you see that? It means He that receives Christ as the Son of God will also receive its reward. It means any that receives Christ as the dead and risen Lord will also receive its reward. For one last time, I'm led to query you. Are you seeing Jesus as one of the prophets or your Lord and Savior? Let's settle once and for all the core of our belief which will be your belief once you believe in Christ. It is what you believe and in what capacity you believe that'll determine what blessing you'll receive. You can believe any prophet but believing in any of them won't grant you eternal life. A belief in Jesus only does (Rom. 6:23, John 3:16). May God grant you a revelation of Christ like He granted Peter that you may know Him as Lord and Savior. May flesh and blood be dethroned (or diminished) in your life, so that you can have a penetrating light into what Christ really measures and who He really is. I proclaim once more, "He's the Son of the living God - the Saviour of the whole world, the eternal life" (I John 1:2, I John 5:20).

PRAYER: Lord, let me have penetration into the knowledge of who You are. Let me see You as the Son of God - the dead and risen Christ. May sinners see and be turned!

STOP REGARDING AFTER THE FLESH - Beyond The Common Series 002

II Corinthians 5:16, KJV

"Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more."

Stop regarding after the flesh. If you keep at that, you can't but miss who and what God has prepared for you that you need a little probing, patience and perception to uncover.

One of my prayers for you is that you'll have an anointed heart and eyes that sniffs into the divine side of things. Every human being has two sides or dimensions. The outward-physical and the divine-spiritual (who they are in their calling or in the spirit). Often, our physical senses can override our perception. You must know what the physical senses can and can't do. The physical senses: sight (vision), hearing (audition), smell (olfaction), taste (gustation) and touch (tactile sense) are the ways your body receives and processes information about the world (and itself) through specialized organs and nerves. Traditionally, we talk about those five but modern science recognizes that humans actually have more than five senses, because your body also detects other things like balance (equilibrioception) - sense of balance and movement, from the inner ear; body position (proprioception) - awareness of where your body parts are without looking; temperature (thermoception) - sensing heat and cold; pain (nociception) - sensing harmful stimuli (injury, extreme heat, etc.) and internal body signals (interoception) - awareness of hunger, thirst, heartbeat, breathing, need to urinate etc.

We can of course become so used to these senses that we neither have awareness of another sense - perception or grow it. However, familiarity of use can make us substitute the physical senses for antennas in discerning spiritual things. And spiritual things? They're spiritually discerned! God is therefore calling some of you to the adjusting of your lenses and perspectives on people and even views. The Bible has this to say about the chief of senses.

Mark 4:11-12, KJV

"11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: 12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them."

You are not without but within - in the sheepfold. You're of Christ. You're born again (John 1:12). You've been translated into the kingdom of His dear son (Col.1:13). You've been sealed with the Holy Ghost (Eph.1:13). Therefore, you have a different status. In seeing, you will see and perceive; in hearing, you'll hear and understand! You'll understand what God is bringing your way. You'll grab what the preacher and messengers of Christ are reporting!

You'll perceive! Henceforth, I unblock your ears and debug you free of errors. Where you've become sloppy - spiritually deadened and deaf, I call forth a new life. I till your land into regeneration in the name of Jesus! Put God's Word in your mouth. Say, "in seeing I will see and in hearing I will hear - to understand."

When this happens to sinners or unbelievers, it doesn't matter how far gone they are. They will ask the preacher, "Brethren, what shall we do? (Acts 2:37)." They'll be cut deep to their hearts and seek repentance like it's air in their lungs. Repentance doesn't just come to sinners. They need revelation - a seeing beyond what appears and a hearing beyond what's audible from the speakers. That's what converted anyone. Until then, no one is turned. Until the veil is taken away, it'll be, "in seeing they will see and not perceive and in hearing they will hear and not understand" (Mark 4:12). Why? This verse has the answer.

I Corinthians 2:14, KJV

"But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."

Holy Spirit, I let you loose. Invade lives today and turn them around. Give sinners the revelation of Christ Jesus, His death and resurrection and bring them into the fold. For anyone who'll understand and repent, forgiveness awaits him surely. Amen!

PRAYER: Lord, let me see beyond the veil of my physical senses and limitation. I have the third eye - seeing into what seethes below. We pray for sinners [mention names of those you know] and pray for their salvation.

CHRIST JESUS: A MAN OR A SAVIOUR? - Beyond The Common Series 001

II Corinthians 5:16, KJV

"Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more."

Can you answer that Spirit posed question? Christ Jesus: a man or a Saviour? Who's He to you?

Don't let it baffle you that despite the much preachings and the revelation of Christ to the world as Saviour and Lord - He who will save the people from their sins (Matthew 1:21), many still see, regard and take Him for a mere man. Their conclusion of Him is that Jesus is 'Jesus.' That is, Jesus is not different from any of us. At best, call Him a prophet. He's neither the Son of God nor the long awaited salvation and Saviour of the whole world (Rom.5:8).

But that's what today's verse is here to correct. It's Brother Paul speaking in that verse. Brother Paul Himself might have known or regarded Christ after the flesh - as a common man like any other man. Don't forget that before the Acts 9 incident where Paul had an encounter with Jesus, he persecuted Him, talked down on Him because he didn't have Jesus' revelation. He thought He was just one of the prophets or 'hot cake' drawing men after Himself.

Paul at best could have called Jesus a great teacher. Irrespective of what anyone calls Him, that doesn't hit it until there's an acknowledgement that He is God and the Saviour of mankind. Until you recognize that Jesus is the sacrifice for the sins of the whole world, believing it, you're still joking irrespective of what picture of Him you painted in your mind or to people. If you like, call him master, teacher or good pastor. All those are good but have you come to recognize that He died for your own sins and that without believing in Him, you can't but partake in the second death (John 3:16).

Stop regarding Christ in the form of His human or earthly forms. He's beyond all those. He is the dead and risen Christ - your Lord and Savior. He's not a commoner seen through fleshly eyes. He's more. He's the Way to the Father - the door of the Sheepfold (John 14:6, John 10:9). Nobody can come unto the Father except they pass through Him. You cannot have salvation and hope of eternal life except you believe in Him. No other person is the authenticated way. That's why He called Himself the way, the door. These two usages presuppose that there's no other way or door even if there are those claiming there are still some. At best, those are false. That's why Jesus says, "all who ever came before me are thieves and robbers but the sheep didn't heed them" (John 10:8).

How have you been perceiving Christ? A mere man who once walked on this earth or the One who died and rose to pay for your salvation? That's His divine side. You'd better see Him so in order to be a beneficiary of that divine and supernatural side of His. Or else, you'll miss eternal life.

Ooh, how I rejoice that Christ is far more than His human appearance. He has a spiritual side that opens us to many spiritual blessings. If you're there, you can dispose yourself to His divine side just by believing He died and rose again just for you. If you do, confess after me, "Lord Jesus, I believe you died and rose again just for me. I'm sorry as I plead for your forgiveness for having lived without acknowledging this till now. Here I am, come into my heart."

PRAYER/CONFESSION: I believe in Jesus Christ, the only Son of God who died and rose again on the third day. I believe and I partake of all the blessings brought by His death and resurrection.
