RELEASE THEM TO GO! - Gone To Prepare A Place Series 002

John 14:1, KJV

"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."

Did you know Jesus' disciples didn't want Him to go back to heaven? Does that shock you? Yes, they don't want Him to go back. That's why Jesus says, "it's expedient that He leaves because until He does, the Comforter can't come to them" (John 16:4-7).

One way or the other, the disciples just want Jesus to still be with them. However, that won't be progress. That won't be forward thinking. If Jesus stays back, it is nothing but a manifestation of weakness and disobedience to God's will and plan. The disciples have their reasons for not wanting to let Him go - for sorrowing when He begins to prepare them for His departure but that reason is not as important as what shall take place hereafter.

There are different types of pain and if we'll ever grow in this life, we have to deliberately apply purposeful pain to our lives. Or else, we won't grow, move forward or attain greatness. You can't want to be a First Class student and not jettison pleasure to cutivate solitude for study. That is purposeful pain. You're intentionally denying or hurting yourself for a purpose to be fulfilled. It's a good pain every one must learn to apply. The disciples don't want to lose their relationship with Jesus. It's like that of a groom (husband) and the bride (wife). They have known each others for years, come a long way together for years, interacted, related and mingled for years. It wouldn't be easy especially for the wife if the husband were to be separated from her for awhile. I've seen families at the airport who doesn't want their dads to go. You could see yearnings in the hearts of the children. They just want daddy to stay back. Their prayer is even that things might not work out as planned so his going is terminated. The wife might even suggest, instead of going there, can't your company speak to them to fix the training for here without leaving for abroad. All these are emotional statements obviously of love, care, friendliness but which one must not allow to overcome him especially when it's time to take the next leap, have the next door opened and take the next opportunity God is availing one.

Jesus told His disciples, "let not your heart be troubled,  ye believe in God; believe also in me".

Why do you think He needed to assure them? Because they were sorrowing and unsettled for His imminent loss. That's why He's telling them to be comforted. As Jesus is concerned, He's about to take the next flight back to His Father - where we'll all join Him one day. But initially, the disciples didn't want Him to go. However, He made them see reasons why He had to go.

Now, let's come to you. Let's start from parents who are overprotective. A girl once won a scholarship but the dad refused to let her go abroad to study. The man was too fearful that she'd be lost. She wanted the girl to stay with him all through. The girl has enjoyed lovely companionship from him since the mum died and the man has promised in return to see to her well being and protect her as a testament to his deceased wife. It took the pastor to persuade her to let this girl go the second time she won another scholarship for gifted children. I could remember when I wanted to leave for campus, my mother was weeping and I was weeping as well. Before then, I had never been to any campus. I don't even know how life rolls there. I'm just assured I won't tresspass.

What I want to say is this. There's no one God has not destined greatness with. However, when the time comes for you to step into it, it's either you're willing or not. It's either you're released or not. It's either parents and sponsors allow emotional chords to tie you down and drive you back or like Moses' mother did to Moses, they'll launch you out on the Nile (into your unknown world) and let their blessing be with you. There as you are, God will take you up. Overprotectiveness will hinder many from not becoming anything. It isn't that God has not appropriated a rewarding future to them but they are just too comfortable with where they are or have been. They are afraid of the fear of the unknown and they don't want the little upset that will bring blessings.

Today, release them to go. Jesus went into glory. His going became our good - to prepare a place for us that where He has gone, we may be. Yours won't be different as a parent. A time is coming you'll rejoice you let your boy or girl take that step and go a particular way. You may be reluctant now but you'll look back at what He could not have become and what all of you tied to him or her could not have become if He had not gone. Imagine a future world sportsman that the father does not allow to train. Whose pride will that boy be when he begins to see him on TV? For this reason, let me speak the words of Jesus to those in this dilemma. "Don't let your heart be troubled. Believe in God and believe in the assured words of your wards, spouse or friends to behave and act accordingly so that you might see the reward of their taking that leap later. The deep is calling people to come. Will they heed or stay with the known, familiar and small?

PRAYER: Lord, give me discernment to detect destiny journeys of people. May I go to my glory.

THE CALLING ON FIRSTBORNS AND FORERUNNERS - Gone To Prepare A Place Series 001

John 14:1-3, KJV

"1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."

These verses above is the calling of firstborns and all forerunners. Are you wondering how? Then, let's pick it today.

Jesus told His disciples to be settled at heart and not sorrow because of His soon ascension back to heaven. We all know that Jesus later ascended to heaven and He's currently seated at the right hand of God the Almighty (Acts 1:8-9, Acts 7:55-56, Rom. 8:34, Mark 14:62). However, while Jesus nears departure and the eventual separation from these disciples with who He has related and come a long way, He assures their hearts of no loss. He consoles them to believe in God (His Father and in Him, the sent Son). He gave reasons for that. He told them His departure is to an end - to go to prepare a place for them in heaven.

This is the mandate, calling and what should be the goal or heart desire of firstborns and forerunners. Their thinking, mindset and thirst should be to arrive, survive the land and prepare for others' arrival. Firstborns are a kind of apostle. They are sent forth to walk a road before many and open it up for others for easy walk. There are two types of thinking. Terminative Thinking and Generational Thinking. Terminative thinking is the one that makes a man reach his high place and forget those behind. Such man let his blessing stop with himself. He invites no one to come to where he is. He prepares or furnishes no room for anyone. He rather boasts of being the only favoured and blessed. However, Jesus thinks differently. His Father thinks differently as well. The thinking is that Jesus will arrive to prepare a place for these Apostles of the Lamb and to us all by extension. It's really a great thought when someone makes preparation for your coming. It shows love and the greatest concern in any heart.

However as Jesus departs, He encourages them not to feel lonely or manifest a sense of loss. You'll understand this better if you're from a family where one of you travels abroad amidst many siblings with many weepings and sorrowing of heart. Imagine that one now telling others not to sorrow but believe that his departure is to your greatest good and that his departure is to go and prepare a place for you abroad so that you can as well come to where he is (or going). Imagine that! Isn't that good thought? Isn't that thought of welfare, to give you a hope and a future?

Just like a Father wouldn't forlorn his kids or a mother forsakes them, Jesus speaks as He that understands human relationship. He speaks to tell them it's for their good. His going is to go prepare a place for them. So, that'll create an expectation in their hearts. It'll change their living. As they live, they'll have a heart that they'll one day be where He is or He has gone. So, they'll live ready in anticipation.

Firstborns and all forerunners, hear me today. Your being first isn't a mistake at all. You may or may not be first biologically; you may be last born but first because you're the most prospered man in your caste. In this way, you're the first born - the one God has sent ahead of others that He'll need you to provide for. No one rises alone. Your rising is the rising and breakthrough of some people and you should let it suffice that way. Don't waste grace, resources or God's investment. God will actually give you more than you need. He'll locate you amidst plenty resources and that won't be because He wants you to become a pool but rather a channel through which others can be prepared for. No wonder, Jesus speaks of the abundance and unlimitedness in His Father's house. He says, "in my Father's house are many mansions..." Many mansions means many properties. Each of us will have ours. Imagine you in your property or possession. Imagine you being a landlord!

Then Jesus says, "if it were not so, He would have told them". That means He was saying, "I am not lying. I am telling you the truth. There's abundance and green pastures where I'm going and my intention is to bring you there." Jesus says, "I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also". That's contextually referring to rapture anyway (Matt. 26:64).

This is no selfishness at all. He confesses His intention and goal which is to go and prepare a place for us so that we may be where He has gone. Many people don't have Jesus' mind at all. Where they are, they don't want other people to come there let alone get there. Heights, positions, offices and graces they have attained, they don't plan that others attain it. They'll prefer them wrecked, slain and destroyed. However, Jesus has good intention and plans for His disciples. He said, "you're not in darkness and you know where I'm going and that He'll come back to receive them all unto Himself that where He is, they (including we) may be also".

Brethren, the anointing is on me. I want to declare on people. Is there someone who's up there that you admire? I declare concerning you today that where they are, you will be. I pray that men shall remember you and call you to come up hither. One day, I was meditating on how people were moving. However, the Lord told me, "don't worry. Anyone who has gone ahead is sent before you - to call you hither and open doors to you". So, there can't be strife from me against them. I can only pray for them until my word comes from the Lord and I'm granted release and called to the palace. Anyone who rises rise for your sake. See it that way. You won't have to force remembrance. It'll just happen. People will set out good plans and intentions for you - that where they are you may be also. This shall not miss you.

PRAYER: Lord, I'm seated with You in heavenly places. I'm where you are and I rule over principalities and powers. Lord, I want to be where my role model or mentor  (mention him or her) is. I'm remembered!

HE STANDS TO MEET THEM - I Perceive Series 008

Read Gen. 19:1-16

Genesis 19:1, KJV

"And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;

What's in the training of Abraham and also in the training of Lot that both recognize divine luminaries even when they appear as men? Your training as a Christian is what positions you for such awareness. If you've not been cultivating awareness to divine things, divine moments and blessers would come and pass by you just like that. You remember Abraham was just at the gate of his tent at Mamre when he saw these trio that he had a witness to go and fetch unto himself. He just had understanding and a move of the spirit. Same actually happens to Lot. Lot as well is at the gate of the city when he sees these two strangers but who his heart latch unto. That's the truth I have found out. God leads us by our desires at times. God will just fill your breast with some certain aspirations, desires and pursuits. You may not be able to explain why you're feeling after such things but that's summarily because God has your salvation or your provision in mind. This is why God will just make you have eye for some things or some persons that others tend to ignore. You must therefore cultivate such heart. A heart that God can impinge on and will vibrate hearing and recognizing what God is stirring him to attempt or do. This is the case with Lot.

At the city gate, he saw, he ran, he persuaded and he brought these men into his house - under his shelter. However, these aren't ordinary men. They are at least angels disguised as humans. It's in them Lot's salvation from Sodom and Gomorrah is hidden. I pray for you, you won't despise your salvation at the gate. Do you know that the man who'll head the interview panel you'll attend on Monday could cross your path on Sunday seeking direction and you may be so much attentive to him then that on Monday, you'll have bought yourself a testimony and then, all others shall be history. God do put schedules before schedules for people. God solves difficult problems for people before its eventuality. However, what is your response to God's move when it appears ahead of its D-day?

Lot exercised himself for these men. He even goes as far as wanting to endanger his virgin daughters in exchange for their safety. All these non-challant attitudes and acts of Lot speaks a million times to these divine luminaries. They came to inspect all together and they found one righteous. You know there's a verse that says, "there's none righteous, everyone has gone his way".

Romans 3:10-12, KJV

"10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one."

Yet, this one gives attention. He still understands. I pray for you, you will still understand amidst many who have all gone astray. Wherever you may be on the surface of the earth, national or societal calamity shall not pin you down. You'll always be ahead of it. You'll receive notification and leading by mercy that'll take you out. That's basically because the righteous must not suffer with the wicked. God constantly do make a separation between the righteous and the wicked and as long as you won't become stubborn or disobedience but willing and obedient, God will move for you when it is imminent. When heaven is seeking for accommodation and they are seeking for a man who still understands, may it be you who'll give them rest. Today, many ministries and called ministers are in search of rest. Only few could have a revelation of what God wants to use them for and so respond to them. You'll see that such fellow who gave his land or his house for a takeoff of such work would not be forgotten. Their act would solidify as a memorial before God and even in the history of that church. They'll have the testimony of this woman who broke her alabaster box before Jesus. Jesus said this of her.

Mark 14:9, KJV

"Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her."

Imagine that! Yet, so it has been. How do you want it to be that as someone who has come to a great estate today preaches, he references your parents intermittently as those who accepted and gave them space to start in what has gone world-wide today? Only if they can perceive. May you be with understanding. Understanding or revelation will give you knowledge that will make you act differently. Obviously, it couldn't have been Lot only that was at the gate. However, his heart yearns after making a room for them in his house. Yet, his salvation is hidden in this also. May you move in the act that'll preserve you today and then tomorrow.

PRAYER: I am rightly sited as I receive a heart that sees the blesser and responds.

STANDING EXPECTANT IN HOPE - I Perceive Series 007

Genesis 18:8, KJV

"And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat."

For awhile, we've been on God's visitation to us and how to maximize it. Abraham took God's provision and maximized His appearance to him as he was at the tent door at Mamre. Your responsibility is not to allow your blessing pass you by. You must rather draw anything that's divine and given to you as a reward into your boat - life. Nothing must fall off, behind or be wasted. Not one!

After Abraham settles these trio who came his way, the Bible records something that many would take for granted. It says, "and he stood by them under the tree and they did eat". Abraham didn't furnish a table for them and then leave. No! He prepared a table before them and stayed to attend to them further. He waited on them like a servant would wait on his master to see if he might bid him anything in the process. This is service - giving ourselves to others and losing sight of who we are at the sight and recognition of our Blesser - One who's greater than we are. Many people are redundant today because their blesser came and they didn't fulfill all the requirements necessary for receiving. However, not Abraham. After having them as his guests, he still stood by them as they ate. He's not different from the watchman that Habakkuk talks about.

Habakkuk 2:1, KJV

"I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved."

The watchman stays there to hear what would be commanded him so he could do accordingly. You can't be a waiter if you're in haste. Never! Humility and patience make waiters.

That Abraham's waiting isn't a wasted waiting. It's strategic and intentional. So, Abraham stood by them as they did eat! He stood by them watching, waiting, expecting and trusting. He knows these are Blessers and they harbour something of his that must be given him. Abraham may not be able to trace specifically how he knows but he sure has a knowing. More importantly, etiquette of their culture demands that he waits on them. It'll be wrong to serve them and vanish into thing air. If they need more water, who'd get that or pour it? You should wait to hear their responses on the meal and whatsoever they might have to say also. Let them 'hmmm' the food as they eat. Let's hear whether they have good comments to give on the food you've served them. You know, a wife stays around the husband to hear what he'll say on her food (her work) as he eats. If her work is acceptable, it'll be good comments that could even trigger the husband's blessing and appreciation.

As they eat however - having been impressed, they made a demand. Thank God Abraham was near by. Thank God Abraham waited on them. Here's that long awaited blessing coming the way of this old couple now. Having seen with what service Abraham had served them, having eaten his meal and having accepted his work, they asked saying, where's Sarah your wife?

Many times in the Bible, we see the idea of people standing by their sacrifices. When Balaam was recruited by Balak; after the sacrifices had been prepared and the altar built, Balaam would tell Balak to stand by his sacrifice.

Numbers 23:3, KJV

"And Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go: peradventure the LORD will come to meet me: and whatsoever he sheweth me I will tell thee. And he went to an high place."

You see, your sacrifice speaks of you and speaks for you. So, you must stand to see your work, to see if you'll be accepted or rejected. But for Abraham as he stood by the men as they ate the meal that he offered them, he as well stood by his sacrifice that way - waiting for what they'll say. He stood there expecting a reply on what he has given and offered. Indeed, it came. That voice came through when it says:

Genesis 18:9-10, KJV

"9 And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent.10 And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him."

I am praying for someone today that "the voice will come through for you". Look, after all has been said and done, it's either your work is accepted or rejected. Hear it here.

Ecclesiastes 9:7, KJV

"Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works."

Did you see that? "For God now accepts your work" may mean "for God now accepts your acts, prayer, sacrifice, lifestyle, worship, alms, waiting, expecting and retreating". It may mean all those. Abraham stood by his work and he soon found acceptance. He was accepted and so his work. Immediately, it led to a response and blessing by the heavenly Blesser. Today, the long awaited shall dawn on you. I'm hearing concerning someone that, "your prayers and alms have risen to God as a memorial before Him". That's the same words spoken to Cornelius as an angel brought his blessing. Therefore because your works have been accepted, God is returning to you today to give answers where you're needy and helpless. The ultimate one thing that's lacking in your life shall be met and that today.

PRAYER: Thank You for accepting me and my work. Teach me on the truth that a man can't be separated from his work.

AT PERCEIVING, LATCH UNTO HIM - I Perceive Series 006

Genesis 18:1, KJV

"And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day."

I said yesterday that God is not partial. He gave Himself to all men (John 3:16) and He's still giving Himself to them as a fullness that meet their needs (John 1:16). However, He draws near to men even when He's too ruddy to be believed so.

The testimony concerning David is that he's ruddy and of a fine appearance. So, they didn't esteem him as a warrior.

I Samuel 17:42, KJV

"And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance."

However, God used him and they were all proven wrong when He did.

God will appear to all men at one time or the other. He won't leave you forlorn. Only that you must perceive and recognize. We saw this in Abraham yesterday. Three men almost bypassed him but he went to turn them to his place.

My emphasis is on the heart and knowing of Abraham. Abraham has a witness that these aren't ordinary men. He therefore persuaded them until they were ashamed to turn unto him.

Genesis 18:2-3, KJV

"2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground, 3 And said, My LORD, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:"

The Bible says, "he ran to meet this opportunity". He even bowed down to them and honoured them saying, "my Lord". Abraham saw something. Though he is at the tent door trying to cool off but he refuses to be encumbered. He sees some three men. He sees the Lord and he gives him water when He needed it, meat when He needed it and even shelter when He was weary.

This way, Abraham mustn't go empty handed. He must be blessed in return. Abraham who have eyes for such a thing must have his need met also. What follows after refreshing this trio is a call for Sarah.

You know the end of the story. Today, your heart for the things of God will pay. I'm seeing a woman there who has spent herself on God and His things yet is still in hope of a child. It'll be unto you as it is unto Abraham here. I'm also hearing this. "Some of you will reap the reward and sowing of someone who has exercised himself or herself for God". It was Abraham who called these men in but Sarah is the one they called for after they had eaten Abraham's food. You're about to reap the seed already sown by your parents, siblings and even pastor. A demand will go on in the spirit over you. Today, they'll ask for you. They'll call you to come. Sarah was called for though she was not present with the trio. She reaped the labour of Abraham's perception. Today, you will. Be blessed!

PRAYER: I am called in. I am called to come. My time has come. It's harvest.

HE APPEARS UNTO ALL MEN SOMEWHERE AND AT A TIME - I Perceive Series 005

Genesis 18:1, KJV

"1 And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day."

There's no one that the Lord has depraved of His visitation. He appears to all men. Only that you may not have acknowledged Him so when He came. However, God who has been generous to the Jews has also been generous to the Gentiles. He has given His son, Jesus Christ to all as the very and only means by which any man on Earth could be saved (John 3:16). So, none of us should say, "He has not appeared." He died for your sins already. He bought you redemption already (Isa. 53). However, it's left for you to receive this claim and this work. In John 4, Jesus appeared to a woman of Samaria. Though she couldn't recognize Jesus as her expected Messiah yet Jesus revealed Himself to her saying, "I that speak to you am He" (John 4:26). Apart from salvation brought by Jesus however, He has not ceased to appear unto us.

Divinity's appearance never ceases. Appearance of God continues till date. What appearance of God to humanity do I speak about today? It's His appearance to each of us as opportunities to take. The Bible says, "and the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre..." He has not left Abraham without a witness. Here's is His witness to Abraham. Here's the presentation of Himself to Abraham. Here's the arrival of Himself at Abraham's door but the big question is, "what would Abraham do with this arrival?" Before that question, we might even need to ask if Abraham would see He who has arrived and acknowledge Him. Will Abraham be able to read and perceive that this august visitor at the distance isn't ordinary but divinity appearing in human comeliness? When the Lord came, Abraham was not oblivion of it. He was not inside but at the tent's door trying to cool off. He was where he could see passers-by and he saw this trio that day. Thank God for his good disposition towards strangers. Thank God for his caring and generous heart. Verses 2-5 narrates how Abraham springs up to meet them, persuading them to turn in unto him to be refreshed.

As we shall see in days to come, we'll see how seeing, recognizing and perceiving divinity for who they are even in man's comeliness came to be for Abraham's blessing. God is set to meet your needs. However, He sometimes coach Himself in simplicity and see if you'll give Him recognition. He doesn't come hollering Himself at times. When Jesus was born also, where He was birthed didn't give Him away as a great King or Messiah (Lk. 2:7). However, He is. Only some were granted His revelation and came on pilgrimage (Matt.2:1-2). Great things still happen on ordinary days. No need of carrying a megaphone. Many people are still receiving and testifying but they saw and acknowledged first of all. Where they sat at their tent doors, they didn't act non-challant and so were rewarded for same.

May you have this Abrahamic heart that sees from afar and somehow knows the end. When your blessing appears to you at your tent door, may it not pass on without your drawing it in.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to be strategically located and placed to sight and draw in  opportunities that will make up for what I've missed this year.

MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE - Olusola ADEJUMO

THEY'RE ASKING, "ARE YOU THE ONE TO COME OR WE SHOULD EXPECT ANOTHER?"

Luke 7:18-19, KJV

"18 And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.19 And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?"

One might ask, "why would a fellow in John - as the one who identified and revealed Jesus to all be same who'll send such a message as we read above to Jesus?" If not for offence, he wouldn't stop believing in Jesus and seeing Him from the very light he had seen Him from the beginning. At the beginning, even his disciples left his ministry for Jesus' and he was not offended (John 1:36-37). He revealed Jesus as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the whole world. Doing this didn't offend him though he was losing men. He said in John 3:29-30 that, "29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. 30 He must increase, but I must decrease." Where then could this wrong perception and view of Jesus by John have come from when he himself proved that Jesus is God's sent Messiah to the earth. Even at His baptism when he John would have successfully convinced Jesus to baptize Him, Jesus had refuted and persuaded him on it been done as it fits all righteousness. Jesus has never been wanting before in his sight. The Son of God has never strayed off purpose but has always maintained His course. So, is it lately that Jesus has missed purpose and is no longer Who to expect?

John's view has been changed by imprisonment. He expects deliverance and he didn't see one. This is his revenge. This is his fury and explosion at Jesus. In essence, John was saying, "if you have power, get me out of here. Couldn't you see I'm stuck here". I need help now. He was saying, "if you're the Messiah, save me now!"

However, all these requests came out of huge offence. His own ministry has been stopped and hindered being in jail but Jesus' still continues. Hearing the report of Jesus' great miracles from his disciples, he sent word to Jesus if he were the One to come or they should expect another. He was indeed expecting that Jesus would know where to channel His power - for the saving of the messenger that announced Him.

John became a failure and a disgrace! His reward and feedback didn't delay at all. Jesus having done many miracles at that hour directed the gazes and observation of those he sent to those acts and asked them to observe and go to report all they had seen and heard to John.

Then, Jesus added one more thing, "blessed is he who's not offended at me". How did Jesus know he was in offence? Because John was expecting something to be done yet nothing had happened. People get offended when their expectations are not met or when it tarries and they're disappointed at such delay. Jesus knew he sent that errand because he was stuck and he hoped He would come to his aid. However, offence shouldn't propel us to demean our salvation and even reject it. John demeaned and rejected his own Salvation. He was in essence saying, "if you won't do anything, I might as well look unto another or another place". However, Jesus is not Esther that a Mordecai would tell, "if you look away, enlargement will arise for the Jews from another quarters" (Esther 4:14). This Jesus is the salvation - the final solution and answer and help of all men. Any who's offended at Him might die in his or her sin - never coming out of imprisonment of hell alive like John. Any who rejects His help and seeks to expect another might not find any at all. May I ask, have you found Him as your help and salvation or you're still looking for another one? I assure you, it'll never come.

Let me encourage you not to lose faith, doubt or become offended that your expectations till hitherto have not been met. He sees it all and He hears it all and He'll do it all. Just don't reproach Him and look unto another. Don't be offended at God or any you're expecting money, encouragement, sympathy, companionship etc from but who seems not to be looking in your direction now. Getting offended in them will make you vulnerable - shifting you away from expectation and the place of faith. This way, you'll receive nothing but wither in your offence and doubt. Rather, keep trusting and seeing Jesus as He who is to do it and not another god or goddess. Don't shift your position of faith. It's of great reward before heaven.

PRAYER: Give me a heart release from offence. I purge myself of self justification over others.
