COME OVER INTO MACEDONIA AND HELP US!
"And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us."
The Lord has vomited a lot of teachings over the years through this Macedonia call event. However, there's a fresh perspective I'm having today - and that's because the Lord is granting it.
When this man appears to Paul and cries, "Come over into Macedonia and help us", it takes a listener and deep observer to see that the call is an urgent and hot-headed call.
Something distressful is ongoing. Macedonia is a field ripe for harvest. It has needs that have to be met. Some people are already sinking and dying in their sins in that region. Some are already like ripe fruits, prepped and ready to be harvested.
In view of all these, the call came, "Come over into Macedonia and help us."
It is an urgent call. A call pushing for their immediate departure. A call asking and pleading that they'll not linger or delay any further. Through this Macedonian call, we have every reason to believe that because the Bible says, "There stood a man of Macedonia and prayed him, saying..."
The Macedonian man who appeared acknowledged their needs and that's why he pleaded that they would sail once and for all to Macedonia. Nothing unclear about the call. It is straight to the point demand - "Come over into Macedonia and help us."
Who's hearing this call? Is anybody there that the Holy Spirit is placing a place in his heart? Is anybody there that God wants to move or settle somewhere for the sake of the needy and those who are spiritually dead? This is not a call that can be postponed. It is an immediate call that must be acted on. The timing is right as scheduled and allowed by God. You cannot rest on your oar now. Now, the Lord is calling and He's saying, "Come over into XYZ and help them."
You have to go because that call is your launcher. You cannot say you'll go later, it has to be now. That is a distress signal or pyre that has been lit. You must immediately sail to save the harbour before it burns to the ground.
"Come over into Macedonia and help us" is the call. It means, "Leave where you are now!" As God plans it, attention is shifting and has shifted from where you've been. All attention must now be focused on this new missionary field. It must now be given to this newly designated place. It is a must, "You must come over!" You must not love that place and stay in it because of familiarity or whatever. You must rather, "Go over" because your ministration is needed as capable of bringing help to people.
May we not be deaf and dumb children. When called, may we realize the details of the call. May we see the responsibilities on us and immediately give to the call what the call demands. May we know the heartbeat of God beyond what appears. May understanding be supplied to us.

"And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them."
You see, Paul and his team didn't delay. They could interpret the call for what it is. They know it is a distress call. A call for an immediate helpline. Any delay is dangerous. So, they endeavoured to immediately go into Macedonia assuring that the Lord has called them.
Souls may be wasting because you're delaying. God does not want the death of sinners but that they repent and receive Jesus. You are the one they're waiting for. A family may be waiting for you that way. It may be a friend or even a group of people. "Come over to Macedonia and help us." Will you cross or stay with your familiar and cherished territory?
PRAYER: Lord, give me understanding to interpret Your communication to me beyond what appears. I'm obedient to Your call and live as one bound by it.
