WHAT WILL SUFFICE US ONCE SEEN

John 14:8, KJV

"8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us."

What brought about Philip's request to be shown the Father? Jesus had said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" John 14:6, KJV.

From this response of Jesus, the Father is therefore portrayed as the end of the road for everybody. Jesus is a road to Him. The full stop of everyone willing to make it to eternity is to pass through Jesus (believe in His finished works) and receive Him into his life. Doing this secures you a passage way to the Father.

When Philip heard this, he said a statement that doesn't reveal foolishness but a heart seeking after the final cure of all things (though also an insulting statement to what Jesus is and stands for). He said "show us the Father and that will suffice (satisfy) us." He asked that in sincerity and not to boycott Jesus whom he has been with since. He was honestly looking for the better means.

'Suffice' means 'and that will do; and that will be enough, and that will settle it" He wanted the final answer. From Jesus' statement to them, he (Thomas) perceived Jesus as only a road to the Father and the Father, the ultimate goal - the One to get a hold of while turning one's attention away from Jesus - who introduces Himself as the way to the Father (but not the Father). However, that's not how it works. If I ask you too which will you choose between a passage to something and the thing itself? All of us wants the ready made. The final of the final.

Jesus was shocked as to how Philip could ask to be shown the Father. He however corrected this view and said, "Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?" John 14:9.

Is that false? No. Jesus is the express image of God. It's like a son who resembles the father and carries his DNA. If you sight him, you obviously have seen the father. However, Jesus is even more than this description.

Hebrews 1:3, KJV

"Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person..."

This is how things settle as Jesus revealed Himself as the satisfaction Philip was thirsty for. In reality, all of us is seeking for what will satisfy us and ends our going to and fro continuously. The woman at the well with Jesus said to Him also, "Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw" John 4:15. In essence, she was looking for a panacea  - a cure it all. Is there a thing that satisfies truly? Yes. Jesus does permanently and eternally though human needs are insatiable. We have people that are looking to God to marry, give birth or even get a thing done. If they should be in front of God, you'll see what their prayer would be. They'll say things like, "if God could do this for me, I'll be satisfied." Does it mean they won't want to prosper in other areas after that singular breakthrough again? No. That saying only expresses what their major thirst is and how much they covet it is met and met quickly. That's why Philip when he heard Jesus mention the Father as the One that matters in all manners quickly catches on that opportunity to say, "show us the Father and that will settles it." He sees the Father as greater than Jesus and he wanted the greater to be his. That's wise of him.

He was in search of what will suffice and settles the hunger for the divine inside man. All over the world and across human races, people are yearning for the Divine and one that can suffice them. Some in their search have turned to other gods and have missed it. Today, I announce to you the living water - Jesus Himself Whom when received, He suffices and settles all. That's why that woman of Samaria pleaded with Jesus to give her the water that quenches thirst once and for all. God knows your desire. He bore with Philip and revealed Himself as the One that satisfies once and for all. May you receive that which once possessed, one gets weaned from further enquiries and searches in Jesus name. Your going to and fro for an answer ends today.

PRAYER: Pray for the repentance of the world. Pray for the meeting of any kind of needs.

ARRESTED AT RAMAH

I Samuel 19:21,KJV

"And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they prophesied likewise. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they prophesied also".

David ran to Ramah to escape the death pursuit of Saul. When things are no longer at ease, you should know where to run to. There's salvation with God. That's why He's a tower.

Saul wouldn't relent. He wanted him right away because David had became a sort of threat and competition to him. He therefore sent messengers three times to get this done. However, David at the strong tower of Samuel, the national prophet became unreachable and untouchable. Each time the messengers arrive, they are arrested by God's Spirit which comes on them to do the contrary. This leads to sending messengers three times before Saul himself took a journey to get it done.

Surprisingly, the Spirit was upon Saul as well and he prophesied like all his messengers. His even went haywire as he lay naked. He was in open day embarrassment. In this way, his plan couldn't come to pass. There is a God that does this.

Job 5:13,KJV

"He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong."

Saul and all his messengers ended their pursuit of David at Ramah here. At Ramah, they were arrested and detained. That's how far they could all go there. At Ramah, pursuit ended. May all problems, evil and all sorts get to their bus stop today in your life. All things sure have a bus stop and today they shall each come to a stop.

PRAYER: Lord, let destruction comes to a perpetual end. Sickness, disease, habitual sin etc no more.

THE GOD OF ESCAPE

THERE'S ALWAYS A WAY OF ESCAPE

Earlier this year, I decided to freeze earning from my main stream of income. I did this after establishing two secondary streams of income. So, I based all my living on those only. I told myself, let the hills be removed and be planted in the sea, I won't touch this "lay-aside fund." I was resolute like a Zulu warrior.

Later on, the first of the secondary incomes folds up. After two months, the second also folded up. I was uncomfortable and now in vulnerability of many primary needs being met. Here is Olusola who has a lot of dependents on him. At that time, two of my siblings' phones needed to be changed. They  were already singing it to me. Yet, it was also close to this resumption period where students must pay school fees and buy all they should buy. The one in school in another state has been honking at me. I said, "God, I am surrounded!"

Meanwhile, God did something for me some few days before the second stream of income went on hold that was never a miracle to me until a later time. He brought another stream of income that I'll have to groom by consistency to me. Some tertiary students needed an analyst of poetry and other related Literature works. So, I just took it up but not as work at first though I was a guru at it. This work that meant nothing at the beginning has covered multitude of needs over the time these two streams I depended on folded up.

While I was praying and ruminating at my devotion this morning, I saw reasons to appreciate God and for a large junk of my time, I did appreciated Him as the God of Escape. As the revelation of the God of Escape dawned on me, the Bible began to flood me. It was then I remembered what happened to me had happened to one prophet before. Elijah was sent to hide by Brook Cherith where he was also drinking from. In no time, the brook dried up. Meanwhile, the God of escape sent him to the widow of Zarephath. So, He was never stranded. As the brook dried, the Widow of Zarephath was made ready. What a miracle of you and I will never be broken!

The widow of Zarephath doesn't look like someone that God could use to feed anyone. So also were these students when they first appeared. They never had prospects. Meanwhile and as of now, the connections and numerous works I have gotten through them proves me wrong. I even have pending works and was requesting time to deliver them. Only God and Olusola can account. I'm now spending my time analysing lengthy poems for money. It takes a month to get one done because it's like a project work and I have other things doing but the reward though not exaggerated justifies my thoroughness at it. So, this morning when I totalled everything together, I lifted up my voice and called God the immediately immediately God. He's always on time. He knew I was beginning to be stranded and where my life's earning is, touching it is hard because I intentionally put it somewhere - where the temptation of withdrawing will be forbidden and the process tedious. So, God came through for me.

Sometimes ago, I heard my ministry father preaching again about how ministers of God must learn to live by faith and know how to be led by God's Spirit.

So, I told myself that the money God isn't sending me as a minister, I won't send out or give people. God knows I have a family and other dependents to sponsor. I won't put myself under the pressure of buying something I don't have money for. So, I was waiting on God's salvation

Do you know what shocked me most from this miracle? God brought it just as the last stream of income was folding up. It came in such a humble way. The person that brought it knew me to be a Literature person and teacher but why would she brought that at that time? She just asked, "do you have ideas on this thing?" I said "yes!" That was how it started. From having an idea on it (though a guru), it is now what I spend my time doing.

This is where when the enemy comes like a flood, God will always raise a standard. This is where there's no temptation taken you before that's new. Meanwhile, God is faithful and He's able to provide a way of escape that you may not be tempted beyond what you can carry.

While I was looking at how terrible living would have been if not for this disguised but now steady source of income, I found reasons to thank God for the escape.

Indeed, He is the God of escape!

MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE - Olusola ADEJUMO

ENGAGING THE FINAL SOLUTION

John 4:15,KJV

"The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. "

A thirst will continue until you engage the final remedy for such thirst. That's why that woman at the well asked diligently for that water that saves one from further stress.

She wanted to be once and for all satisfied and so requested for the advertised water Jesus called the living water. This living water is reputed to give life. It could cause an unborn spirit to be born anew with impartation of the Father's life. However, Jesus was first misconceived by this woman.

John 4:10-11,KJV

"Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.  4:11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

This woman first thought it was the day to day ordinary water they fetch at that well Jesus was referring to. Jesus however was talking of the better water that relinquishes all thirst and search for who could save. The living water advertised by Jesus is the kind that gives rest to the wandering soul under the care of a good saviour which is Jesus Christ Himself. The living water is given to thirsty, searching and enquiring hearts at salvation.

John 4:13,KJV

"Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

What water was Jesus referring to? The water the woman misconceived for the living water. The water she said Jesus will need a fetcher to fetch. Jesus had to redirect her gaze to what the real water that quenches desire for rest, peace, satisfaction etc was. Jesus said "there are solutions that are not solutions at all. Why are they not solution at all? It's because they don't treat the matter at its root but at its shoot. They only give temporary offer." The water Jesus was debunking was the water that quenches physical thirst and not spiritual thirst. Such water can't make a man see God. It can only quench natural thirst. It doesn't surpass that. No matter the gallons of such water taken from any source will still leave the host with inner agitations and questions on life, death and eternity. What is physical can only cure physical needs. Why use then what is physical to replace and meet the need of what is spiritual?

However, what about the better water?

John 4:14,KJV

"But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst;but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Now, look at the guarantee of the better water. It quenches a thirst for a further saviour after one might have received Jesus at salvation. The Spirit comes in there and dwells in you which makes you a man that can draw water from your own personal well of salvation for personal use with assurance to be with the Lord if death or rapture come having being born again. Once God's life is in you, you'll be able to produce water in and out of season that will quench your spiritual needs. This water enhances you to benefit from the usefulness of personal fellowship with God.

Why did I call it the final solution? It is because no desirous heart will know rest until he takes the living water. He will still be thirsty and in search of a saviour until then. Living water is the water above all other waters. That's the water that gives what other waters, either well, river, or tap water etc can't give. Let all sinners receive Jesus into their lives today as they forsake their sins.

Also, you must learn to go to the root of matters and engage the final solution like Jesus recommended for this woman. There are quick treatment you could give to things. Meanwhile that's not going to do. It will only give temporary quenching of desire for awhile. You will soon find yourself relapsing into further journey in search of what quenches desire and actually eliminates the problem. An attempt to find rest by drinking to stupor isn't the final solution. Come to the Saviour you who are heavenly burdened and you shall find rest is the solution.

You must therefore know that a psychologist's counsel to an unrest mind can never substitute the yearning of his soul for the Word of God that saves. Until he comes to Jesus, he'll still be feeling life doesn't worth it. A man demonized and who does terrible things can't be counselled by his parents to stop that act and have it finally stopped. They will have to cast out the demon before such spirit propelling such act could be disengaged and its host finally saved. Unless you stand independently and given a job that could give you food, being tied to another's apron won't do.  Please, engage the final solution.

PRAYER: Lord, we pray that you'll open the eyes of sinners to what they should esteem and prioritize - seeing Jesus as their immediate needed Saviour.  Father, give me a final solution on a bothering problem.

WHO WAS SAID TO DELIVER THE RIGHTEOUS FROM THEM ALL?

Psalms 34:19,KJV

"Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all."

Do you know what rejoices my heart, makes me sit comfortably and assures my heart calmly that I won't perish? It's the truth that says "the duty of rescuing me will not be done by any other but by God Himself."

That place said " The Lord shall deliver him." It wasn't an army general that was mentioned but the Lord God of hosts of heaven. The One whom nothing is difficult for. As for man, many things are difficult for him. Many things pose challenges to him. He is in danger and elimination a lot. He knows he's not sufficient. That's why he seeks after gods that mutters who are not indeed God. That's in his bid to stay secured too.

And those gods? They have ears but can't hear. They have mouth but can't speak. It's just a myth. It's a fabricated lie that those gods came from heaven. These were either men who were heroic and so a legend was made out of them or just some idols carved out to seek after as gods.

Look at Moses, the one who understood the rudiments of this message. He refused to go unless God Himself goes with them. He must have stumbled on this truth that there is no other person who could execute perfectly a task but God. God can't do a work and yet not perfect it.

Exodus 33:15,KJV

"And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence."

Things don't get marred in God's hands. If it does at all, He refashions it into that which seems good in His sight again.

If it were the president of my nation or any of the world power that place mentioned, I'll be shaken and would have had cause to doubt my deliverance without being singed let alone torn. If I was promised rescue by the US Army and the leading security company on earth, I should still be shivering.

Why? All of them are humans. They are prone to failure. They are vulnerable to frailties. Have you not heard a case of a man who promised another man (a less privileged) money but died before next day? Isn't the hope of the man assured broken into pieces? Surely torn asunder!

I believe God will see me through and will keep that which I have committed unto Him. I'm assured 100% like Paul if my rescue is hanged on God. You too, believe same.

II Timothy 1:12,KJV

"For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day."

Why did I believe strongly and wholly in Him. Look at it here:

Numbers 23:19,KJV

"God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"

This is where the difference lies. God is a sure anchor. The anchor of man might loose without notifying me. Even if he notifies me, I'll still remain helpless. For what purpose have I called for help at the first instance?  Unforseen contingencies could hit the man that has been sent to rescue and see to my needs. At that time, he'll love himself first before loving me. Before he turns back, one might have drowned.

I therefore need a man whom nothing could catch up with, hinder or deter from saving me. I want a man that traffic jam, lack of fund, rain etc can't stop from digging me out in one piece. That person is God. I can never mistaken any man for Him.

PRAYER: Lord, I have confident in You as my present help in trouble.

Wholeness always!

WHO AMONG YOU IS QUALIFIED?

John 8:7,KJV

"So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."

The issue of qualification is being emphasised here. Qualification is an important thing. Unless you're qualified, has passed the test and excel in an area where you're being questioned, you might not be fit to do what you should do.

A woman was caught in the very act of adultery. She was brought to Jesus and a demand was made that she should be stoned to death according to the Mosaic law. However, they requested of Jesus what His own opinion was. Jesus then brought in the issue of qualification. He told them that it's not all of them that might be able to throw the stone except those ones that have not sinned before. Jesus checked them out. They were tested and to my utmost surprise, all of them failed. None of them passed the test of throwing even a singular stone.

This is exactly how people are failing in life. Many people look like the qualified but aren't qualified. They have the title but don't have the life. What will show them as not having the qualification required for the task to be done will appear one day.

Imagine the number of people who had been protesting to get the job done. They wanted to throw stones but what happened after they  were put to test? All of them left from the eldest to the youngest. Their hearts convicted them. None of them passed to cast the stone. They were all found wanting after being weighed. They were found unfit despite their own confessions to be able to do the job. Some of them might have probably picked up stones (the tool) to get the job done (execute the woman) but all was dropped eventually because they were disqualified. They got ready (for stoning) but were not ready indeed.

May you be found worthy for the task. May you not be exposed as incapable or deficient in getting the job done after examination.

PRAYER: Lord, I purge myself of any sin as a minister that will deny my entrance into a kingdom task. I shall not be found wanting or barricaded against in doing a God given task. I shall pass the test and be the right man for the job.

THE "ALL THINGS WELL" GOD

Read Mark 7:32-37

Mark 7:37, KJV

"And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak."

There's a God that does it all. Once He comes for you, He doesn't give attention to only one, He does it all. If He meets ten things as need in your life to be attended to, He won't attempt some and jettison others.

A deaf and dumb was brought to Jesus with pleads that He should put His hand on him. They knew what God could wrath through Jesus before they requested Him putting His hand on him. Do you think they'll tell an ordinary fellow that? Having a revelation of the God that does miracle is key to receiving miracle. That statement of theirs reveals their assurance in Jesus and the truth that miracles can be received.

Just as they had exercised their faith, the fellow was healed. He speaks and he hears now. To this miracle, the crowd said, "He has done all things well, He makes both the deaf to hear and the dumb to speak."

How many problem did this fellow had? Two! Did Jesus only cure him of one or both? You see, God when He does His things settles it completely. He who created the mouth will in addition create with it what the mouth will eat. I heard a verse now. Here is it:

1 Corinthians 10:13, KJV

"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."

The temptation may be present but the way of escape will be opened also. All things well God! Everything is well God! He repairs all. He doesn't hesitate in doing one and leaving the other to still bother you. I pray that God will make all things well in your life. The numerousness of your need doesn't pose challenge to God. He'll go round them and do all things well. All things has its place and He'll put each in its place.

I heard of a brother who got a partial scholarship to go study abroad. While on the study, he needed to balance up. He had no where to go but to turn to his pastor. The pastor spoke to another brother of their denomination who's also abroad to lend him the money and that he'll pay later. That one did. As the lender knelt to pray one day, God told him he should let the money go and that that was His money for that brother He kept with him.

That's how He that gave a partial scholarship to that brother cleared the payment also. Has He not done all things well? Did He not give a scholarship and also finance it?

So, let your mind be at rest. If God is telling you to go ahead on a matter, it has been financed. Only that God is not showing you the prove or receipt of it being financed. Preparation is always in place and ahead for you. Do you receive that? Even if you have twin matters at hand to settle, believe that God will attend to all. May your needs be met. May you also look up to heaven in awesome wonder that God has done all things well by listing the numerous things He has done for you. May you be shocked and in gratitude say, "what a thing, what a God who has done all things well."

For those who are deaf and dumb this morning, may He that settled these two related problems and attracted the "all things well testimony" touch you. I say, be opened and let the string of your tongue be loosed."

PRAYER: When you send people, you go with them. Show me your commitment Lord. Meet my numerous needs and let me know You as "All things well God!"
