WHERE IS THE JEALOUSY FOR YOUR OWN CHILDREN?

Read Mathew 17:24-27

Matthew 17:25, KJV

"He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?"

Where we should meet wisdom at times, it is unfortunate if what we meet there is foolishness.

Obviously, out of a readiness to trap Jesus, He was visited for the necessary temple tax. When the collectors met Peter, they had said, "so, your own master is exempted from tax payment?" Their statement reveals that they were ready for trouble if Peter or Jesus had responded otherwise. That's why Jesus who might have seen into what the matter could likely become told Peter to go cast a hook and pay them so that they might not be offended.

If Jesus should work with the knowledge He had at hand: of children not paying tribute but strangers, a ruckus would have been stirred. In essence, Jesus was calling for a revisiting of the act that said citizens should pay tributes. He was merely challenging it and pointing to the fact that such has expired.

Let us ask ourselves the question Jesus asked Peter. If you want to inconvenient anyone, is it your own family members or those outside? Even kings don't collect tributes from their own citizens but other kingdoms. They spare their citizens and let them enjoy some freedom of gathering wealth and not working for another to feed on.

Jesus knew something was abnormal which was why he asked which was fit for practice. To collect from children of the soil or from strangers? Those that should be under tributes as Peter relayed ought to be all these conquered cities or nationalities. However, it was not so. It was children that tributes was being demanded of. If you're a leader, you must seek to make your citizens or your own enjoy certain privileges that others (especially strangers) won't enjoy. If you don't, children won't feel like children. It's of no use when the same fate that totally befalls strangers are those that befalls citizens.

When leaders should exercise jealousy over their own national citizens and seek to protect their lives and properties, it's these same leaders that are rather doing all to make life difficult for those they should make it easy for. Citizens trusted their being into their leaders hands but what if the leaders become the thorns in their flesh? Why should there be extortion of your own children even if you want to extort? Extortion is wrong but it seems unwise if the fellow doing it chooses his own as the victims. Why should you levy them this much? Why should you enact policies that won't make your very citizens flourish? These were the questions Jesus was asking Peter. Jesus was so concerned that He blocked Peter from having entrance into the house until he had shared in that matter occupying His mind up.

Foreigners are the ones easily discriminated against but if any should begin to discriminate against his own citizens, then we should worry.

So, reserve your jealousy for children while you treat everybody well. Under any circumstance must you treat citizens like any other. If you give birth to children and have adopted ones, you can't but still do at times to your biological children what would tell them you are their parents. It is not partiality. It is jealousy of a father. Even Jesus said to a woman, "children's bread aren't given to dogs! (Mathew 15:26).

PRAYER: Teach me to prioritize my own. Give me love for all but jealousy for my own. May all leaders enact laws that would bring comfort to their citizens.

NECESSARY FOOD

Job 23:12,NLT

"Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

This Bible passage has two things in itself that we must examine. One again is the word of God's mouth while another is the necessary food. We've seen before that we're not saying food is unimportant. It is a thing that we can't do without. The core reason why Job referred to it as necessary. Food has relevance and crucial value. Is there anyone of us who can survive and actually live on without food at all? Men of God, though they're notorious for fasting and going on long one; yet we know it's for a season. Food is called necessary there because it's a thing we can't do without. Elijah was fed twice before his forty days fasting so his health doesn't fail (I Kings 19:5-8). Jesus after His own forty days fast was hungry and though He didn't yield to Satan's temptation to turn stones to bread yet we know would have taken physical food later.

So we don't get in trouble, don't say one man of God says you shouldn't eat. Even Jesus didn't say so. However, He ranked the words from God's mouth above food. That doesn't nullify the truth that food is still a necessary thing. So, if it's necessary, it is. You will need it for energy to go about your daily business. All of us knows that anyone who hasn't eaten can't involve himself in rational thinking. To lift the slightest weight would be impossible when one is thus without food and off course the fellow would soon die off the earth if in that foodless state continues.

If God isn't giving any priority to food, it wouldn't have reflected in these scriptures.

Psalms 34:10,NLT

"Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.

103:5,KJV

"Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things,so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's." Psalm

"The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want." Psalm 23:1,KJV

These portions of the Bible confirmed further how the importance subject of feeding, nutrition and nourishment of oneself is important. God doesn't want us to be unfortunate children who at the end of the day will be disposed to diseases, early death and constant weakness/exhaustion because there is no proper and balanced feeding.

Even when Daniel purposed not to defile himself with the king's rich food, it didn't mean he didn't eat at all. Only that the portion he took was different.

Daniel 1:8,NLT

"But Daniel was determined not to defile himself by eating the food and wine given to them by the king. He asked the chief of staff for permission not to eat these unacceptable foods."

Despite that and with the favour he had with that eunuch, look at what the eunuch insists on.

Daniel 1:10,NLT

"But he responded, “I am afraid of my Lord the king, who has ordered that you eat this food and wine. If you become pale and thin compared to the other youths your age, I am afraid the king will have me beheaded.”

At the end, Daniel reached a compromise of being fed with pulse and ordinary water by him. So, he also ate something.

Our survival on this earth is based on feeding and adequate feeding though we know that living the kingdom lifestyle will demand we survive on words from God's mouth too which is the  most important feeding.

God is symbolic of Nebuchadnezzar referenced here. He doesn't want us to be worst in stature than even the unbelievers who are our mates. That will deny His being Yahweh Jireh. God is committed to our total wellbeing. He keeps speaking of growth and stature without neglecting wisdom often. (Luke 1:80,2:40, Judges 13:24).

So, no growth happens without feeding. Even John the Baptist was reputed to have fed on locusts and wild honey (Matthew 3:4). If all these men lived on food, then you will too. Our first survival is on that though there's a word from God's mouth you must esteem.

PRAYER: Wisdom and provision to feed well, and for strength, I receive.

THE WORDS OF WHOSE MOUTH?

Job 23:12,KJV

"Neither have I gone back from the commandment of His lips; I have esteemed the words of His mouth more than my necessary food."

Whose words do you esteem? Imagine a pupil whose friend keeps asking 'will your dad buy the game for you as he promised?.' That's a question challenging the father's integrity. The boy must have known his father well enough to be persuaded of his father's promise. The word and food are struggling to have the attention of people also. Food has gained many because it comes to us naturally. Hunger reminds us of eating. Not eating reminds us of health failure and death. Meanwhile, we fail to see the many dangers that lack of words from God's mouth could bring. Greater havoc! Many have given their allegiance to what they put in their mouth thinking that real survival comes from it.

Many, many people rank food as being important over instructions from God's mouth. You can't do without eating in a day. Shouldn't you also live with instructions from God per day? Stop deceiving yourself and face reality. When food is graded above what God would have said, you'll soon be in danger. Do you know there are business men who will eat and take all sort of drinks in the morning before going to work who don't see it more necessary to enquire and secure words from God's mouth concerning their business and lives? Yet, this same people do not have a prophet watching their back. Not long, his investment collapses and he experiences a quick down trend for having not received words from God's mouth. Survival is on food but real survival is on the words that stems forth from God's mouth to you.

People strengthen themselves with physical food and jettison strengthening every facet of their lives with what God would have to say. Real and cooperate danger! You see, God has more than enough to say to you. Your not coming at all is what barricades this free flow of privilege information. Motor accidents, plane crash, building collapse, stock collapse etc would still happen but words that you have waited on God to receive early in the morning or at afore times will save you from such. Even, if you're given a prophecy and you're the kind that despises and mock divine things, you'll still have fallen victim of what the prophecy had predicted. Mind you, receiving words for your life and others you're responsible for must be on daily basis. That's the key to your continuous survival on this earth. That's why the word was said to be steady and uninterrupted.

Matthew 4:4

"...it takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes a steady stream of words from God's mouth." MSG

It must be continuous word. Why it should also be ever progressive word is because we receive and are given physical meat daily. We thrive on that right?

Luke 11:3

"Give us each day the food we need" NLT

Each day means daily. This is the principle of continual existence on the face of the earth. Even, gods and goddesses' worshippers rank communications and directions from their deity first of all. The priest daily consults his oracle too. He knows today will be different from yesterday and tomorrow from today. Shouldn't we therefore learn this wisdom better seeing it is written clearly in bold prints for us. Life is filled with uncertainties and unforseen contingencies which makes our daily receiving more important. Don't negotiate this today. Start a relationship with God by becoming born again and qualifying for notices.

PRAYER: May I not negotiate intimacy with you. Teach me waiting and receiving. Hint me of future occurrences. I won't fall victim of evils to come.

WHAT AN HONOUR! - Make a Search Series 003

Read I Kings 5:1-5

I Kings 5:6, KJV

"Now therefore command thou that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants: and unto thee will I give hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt appoint: for thou knowest that there is not among us any that can skill to hew timber like unto the Sidonians."

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter but the privilege of kings is to search it out. If God prides, boasts and has the privilege of making matters mysterious to us, our being called to come and find, decipher what God has coded is what brought honour on us. We should count ourselves worthy of such call.

David had died and here is new Solomon speaking to Hiram on the need for him to build God's house. He requested Hiram, King of Tyre to hew him cedars of Lebanon. Solomon then said something worthy of note, "for none is skillful in the hewing of cedars like the Sidonians."

How did you think Hiram receives that request? With thanksgiving that he was found to do a task for a king though he's also a king. His competence was praised by David when he said there's none like the Sidonians in hewing of trees.

You must see the honour that people are trying to do you when they request your help. If you can't do it, they wouldn't have brought it. It is the greatest honour ever whenever someone finds you fit for a job.

God found mortal men fit for the job of finding out matters. Solomon found Hiram fit for hewing down cedars. Make it a prayer that God and people would honour you by finding you fit of a work. How can we commit something tangible into hands that's disable handling it? Solomon would never make that mistake. He doesn't want to suffer loss which is why he clarifies for Hiram why he's choosing him - his competence.

It is an honour to serve the king. It is an honour to be found of service. It is an honour to be called to render one's skills. It is an honour that God even makes financial demands on you. Everything is to esteem you. Everything is to make you feel acknowledged. So, see it that way and not rather refuse God or godly leaders who might call you for the accomplishment of a task.

There are people that I have called to do one or two things for us in ministry or even for myself. Many of them would zoom off in haste and get it done. They have the revelation that if they say no, God would find another. He is never stranded. However, you should count yourself worthy that somebody could see you where you're located with the bundle of gifts in you and is calling you to come and put it to play. Is that not an honour being done you? That is wanting to bring you out to the public. If you don't turn down that assignment, another would come your way through the one at hand and that's how you'll be earning commendations and recommendations on and on.

A call to a task is not a favour you're doing God, it's a favour God is doing you. It's an honour having being called in the first place. In this world where there are many professionals, if your competence is praised and you're called for the job, it is an honour. Cling to it and deliver your best.

PRAYER: Father, let my work preach me. Let people testify good of me. Recommend me. I release myself and my gifts to serve you.

COUNT YOURSELF WORTHY - Make a Search Series 002

Proverbs 25:2, KJV

"It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter."

There's one thing that fits and befits each of us - it is the searching out and doing of investigation on a matter.

God is to be praised for being mysterious. He hides things away, beckons on us to dare to find them out. Then, the Bible says, "trying to find what God has tucked away out" is the privilege given us.

If you look at the act of keeping away, it is an act that puts the one meant to search at a disadvantage because what was tucked away is no where to be found obviously. It is like gold in the earth that one would have to dig for. Digging for such is what we were told each of us is lucky doing. Instead of saying, "poor me! Look at what I have being assigned to do while bemoaning the situation." We should rather express curiosity at the sight of being told to come and decipher what lies in the darkness in the secret room of God. If your professor sets questions and tells you to crack it as a student, do you know it's a privilege being found and called to crack what your professor who's more educated and better than you in all ways has set. Should you not attack it with joy?

What befits us is the searching out of matters. Whenever it comes upon you to pray and find out something in God's heart, kindly do it without murmuring. It is your honour doing it.

If something is your honour doing, you see it as your job. You see it as what you specialize in. You see it as a thing that you know can't weary you. You just believe the riddle is yours to be solved. If I don't do it, who else would do it? The unbelievers?

God has done His part by concealing the matter. It may seem hard to people's mind and they might wonder why your Father isn't making information so available for you. To you, you don't see it as much hard work or a play on your intelligence to show you're not a brain. You rather see it as a trivial thing that won't cost you much to locate. Your enthusiast to accomplish.

What you see as an honour to do is what you avail yourself of. Imagine  someone builds a building and seeks your honour to open such for service. Would you see that as trouble? You'll see it as how much you're estimated in such fellow's mind. You'll see yourself as being counted a chief person as to be required to do such task. You'll immediately concur that you're indeed the one to do it and not another. 'I'm I not noble for which I've been called?"

It's a privilege. I say it's a privilege that God hides something away and gives mortal men the call to find it out. If an immortal hides something away, should it be the mortal that would search out? Yet, that's what God has done. He didn't commit it into the hands of angels but mere men like yourself and myself. He uses that task of finding out to esteem us as His children who should know His mind. What spirit knows the mind of another if not the spirit made anew at salvation? (John 1:12).

Today, diligently seek to know what's in the mind of your Father. This shows He is treating you as His child. What an honour to come and find out. Please, avail yourself of it.

PRAYER: Father, thanks for calling me to find out, for equipping me at New Birth to find out. I do with ease and delight.

WHAT GOD BOASTS HIMSELF IN - Make a Search Series 001

Proverbs 25:2, KJV

"It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter"

God is on His throne brewing with smiles. One thing He takes delight in, which is His pride is to keep a matter. God is very much involved in concealing of information. His intelligence is without bounds.

If all things are opened or are without search made known to you, you won't praise it enough if handed over to you. That is why the Bible says:

Proverbs 18:22, KJV

"Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing..."

You can't find unless you first search for. If you find a wife by searching for her, you'll sure honour her. For this reason, God conceals matters. He also conceals matters to train us on how to hear Him speak. If there's anything that confuses many Christians and unbelievers, it is the fact that God, the One we can't see with our naked eyes could speak. Yes, He does and I'll like you believe it. Until you believe that, you won't come to seek Him for the unknown. God, when He hides things away does so not to trouble us but rather to treat us as proper sons and daughters. The future God wants us have is tied to our daily discovery of it in Christ. What prince is that whose father never brings up in his heritage?

That place read, "it is the glory of God to conceal a thing..." God prides Himself in keeping things while beckoning on His children to come and unravel it.  The words, "God's glory" refers to what God rejoices doing and which He is known and praised for. There's nothing anyone can do about that. The Bible has finalized it that God takes joy in keeping things away. So, you can't change His mind to not doing what He enjoys doing.

There are many things we pride or glory ourselves in doing. We enjoy it and when asked, "we'll say, it's just good to do." Even when you're restricted, you still want to be freed.

God also is praised for being a concealer of things. His ways that are not obviously open makes us look at Him in awe. His ways are just pass finding. If you unravel this today, many layers sure awaits you tomorrow. So, God keeps you waiting on Him to know more. That is why it is of Him have received grace for grace (John 1:16). It is not a one time donation but a thing that keeps pouring as we stay with Him.

No one comprehends God or His bundle plans for him as a whole. Progression in the journey reveals things to us. It is His glory to conceal a matter. That's His chosen field and He hasn't repented of it. Your own calling is what we shall see tomorrow. Hopefully wait to see what you're praised for.

PRAYER: Secret keeper of the earth, reveal to me what's in Your mind for me.

CHILDREN OF ONE'S YOUTH

Psalms 127:4, KJV

"As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth."

It is a blessing having children in one's youth. Or let me say, it is a better blessing.

We must know that some things are best done and verily beautiful when they happen without trespassing the appropriate time for it. You can't be graduating as an undergraduate at forty and think you're a superstar. The media might take notice of your perseverance and success but it isn't a very nice testimony.  "As arrows are in the hand of a warrior, so are CHILDREN OF ONE'S YOUTH."

That place didn't read, " children of one's old age." So, if you're giving birth late when as a woman for instance, you should have closed all under 35 or 40, the result might face one. That's why that place says, "just like arrows are in a warrior's hand, so are children of one's youth." Why don't you ask why children of one's youth is likened to arrows in a warrior's hand?

It takes a fellow who's also a youth - with strength, initiative, skill, aspiration etc to harness a growing child and shape such into what God would desire he becomes. Parents are moulders and if issues break forth into their arms when there is still capacity and interest of a youth for adequate training there, you'll see them bring a force into grooming such child into becoming one that could be sent on an errand of destiny without being afraid.

If a man has a child at sixty, the man would be eighty by the time the child hits 20. Is it an eighty year old man that wants to train a complete child at that old age? You know youths. Despite the fact that many parents are youths also who are still relevant in the world of their children, these children wearies them and see them as far back and ancient. Now, is it an eighty year old man that would now do better? The old man might be too feeble curbing his youthful exuberance. He'll be tired and let him be. Yet, God doesn't want that. That's why that place read, "...so are children of one's youth."

Only children of your youth are like arrows in a warrior's hand. A warrior is a trained fellow. Arrow itself is useless even when polished without a handler. It would just be in the quiver without its purpose for invention being accomplished. If arrows - polished arrows, made ready for battle should however find its way into the hands of a warrior - one who's skillful in shooting it, you'll see what he'll achieve with that arrow. You will watch with mouth agape how someone uses arrows to accomplish great things. Yet, you had tried doing the same but it was not happening for you. The difference is that he is trained to use arrows while you are untrained. Arrows don't use themselves. Men does. Unless they're concentrated in a man's hand, the destiny, endowment and potentials of arrows won't appear for recognition. Arrow can kill. It can injure. It can pierce. All these capacities of arrows would only be felt if the right person (fitted for the arrows and one the arrows are fitted for grabs it). Until then, expect nothing.

So also are children of one's youth. Since the parents are still young with so many dreams of what they might want these children to become - it is these dreams, thoughts and desire that would drive them into raising children that could discharge the potentials of arrows in them. Those of you with children, do you know how to use your children? Do you know what to turn them into? Arrows in a warrior's hands are turned into killers. That's its purpose. Children in your hands would become what?

I pray that this God's free gift in your hands would be trained in God's fear, discipline and knowledge that their discharge in life would appear so different and contrast from those raised by those not in their youths. Have you not observe that children grandparents helped their own children raise are always over pampered. Instead of their lording it over those children in godliness and enforcing their godly will on them for a better future, it's such children that dictates things. They'll be eating without brushing! Why? The grandparents strong will or forces has done what it could do in raising the parents. At their stage, it has pedaled down into accommodating and tolerating. That's why you'll see grandparents advocate their grandchildren from being dealt with many times by their parents who are still focused in discipline and what should be. Force of leadership can reduce by age too. This and many more contributes to the raising of arrows.

God has you in mind. Today is your day, it won't be tomorrow. The waiting mothers would receive opening of womb and those due for marriage shall marry. Some things are best done in your youth.

PRAYER: Lord, teach me the harnessing of arrows. May I bring up children to meet purpose.

THE SUN SHINING AT ITS FULL STRENGTH - A PICTURE OF DESTINY

Revelation 1:16,KJV

"He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two - edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength."

Do you know there is a climax for the shining of the sun? That's why we can't compare the intensity of the sun at 9am with that of 1pm. One thing marks the difference. The intensity. The intensity of the sun in the morning is less powerful compare to the intensity of the sun at midday. This intensity increases as the day grows older before its declining in the evening or sunset.

The sun shining in its full strength gives us a picture of destiny and what peak God wants each of us reach as individual walker on the road of our calling. Just like the intensity of the sun varies with time, so also should our accomplishments on the road of destiny differs distinctly by time. The progression of time means our progression in the accomplishment of that divinely implanted sense of purpose.

Proverbs 4:18,KJV

"But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day."

The shining light means the shining sun. Its characteristic is that it matures in intensity until it reaches a place described as "perfect day." This 'perfect day' is a place of perfection of the intensity of the sun. I mean a level where the sun can no longer shine in intensity further. It simply means the peak of accomplishment for every man of calling, purpose and destiny.

Once you're born again, you come into the condition and position of having your human spirit know what is in the mind of God for you. Your spirit searches out your purpose as witnessed to it by the Spirit of God. From here, you begin to walk on the road of the calling - fulfilling destiny. The goal of God for each of us is that He will take us to the full release of our destiny. Do you know that a human being can be under-used. God doesn't want us to be under-used or behind the delivery of the marks He wants us leave on earth. This is why He wants us to be wise children who grow towards accomplishing destiny maximally as we go and grows also. It would be unfortunate if the yesterday of a destiny man doesn't have the testimony of being lesser than his today and his today being lesser than his tomorrow.

That's the picture that the varying intensity of the sun depicts at every hour of the day. Destiny can be discovered and taken to its peak of accomplishment. Grace is available for you like it was available for Paul. It must not be misused. Just ensure you're diligent to make your calling and election sure. In wanting to fulfill destiny, one's cooperation with God is important. So, team work with Him. As you fulfill a part of your destiny, you will have inner contentment on that side while there will be discontentment and a desire to reach out to areas that are far in front. God has planted a sense of purpose in us that nothing else can satisfy but Himself. This implanted sense of purpose is gauged by the satisfaction in our soul. May your soul not be lean. If it is, you're not fulfilling progressively. However, if it's fat, you have covered a lot of grounds with many already made gains.

PRAYER: Lord, I will not under accomplish in destiny. May the testimony of the just be mine.

THE RIB THAT FILLS IN THE GAP

Genesis 2:21,KJV

"And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

God removed a rib from Adam and formed it into a woman. The same miracle of making a skeleton into a whole person here was done in Ezekiel 37 also. All the Lord had was a frame or structure through which He built a whole human in both places. When Eve (that rib) was removed, there was an open space in Adam. It is a hollow that comes to be formed just like a hole is formed in the earth when a digging out of soil is done. It's this vacant space that God brought Eve back to fill in Adam's life. God seeks to make two become one and complete by bringing them together. That's what makes Eve Adam's perfect match. She becomes a match because she could fill in the gap left in Adam's life by God's deliberateness when her very self was dug out. That tells you that a spouse is only a half of the other. No spouse is complete on his or her own. There will always be a vacancy (deficiency) or room in his or her life that whom God will bring to him or her will need to fill up. So, seek after completion and cherish your spouse's contribution into your very life in perfecting you. Also, don't marry the wrong Christian or else a fitting may not occur.

Thank God we all did fill in the gap in school. Do you remember how you used letters to fill in gaps. Let's say we want to fill "C--P". For those letters to make a word and be regarded as same, we will need to put into it a letter that can make it a meaningful word. For example  "u" or "o" can fit into it to form a whole word. That tells you it is not only a person that your 'word' can necessarily be filled with as a Christian for you to be completed. Let's assume Brother Green-pastures proposed to Sister Still-waters. If the sister though God's will for that brother refuses him, God will still find another Christian sister for him that can fit into his life and fulfill the ministry that the first sister turned away from without loss. So, we can say there is a complement and substitute complement(s). Mind you, this doesn't mean a Christian is permitted to marry and keep two spouses at a go except the first dies. What I'm saying is that "o" or "u" can be inserted into "C--P" to make "cup" or "cop". That means there are vessels who can fill in your gap by fitting into your nature, tolerate your habits and accept you as a spouse. God is likely to choose from such set of people for you. They're always more than one that you can marry or can marry you! Is this therefore preaching to you to therefore reject God's will when it's made known to you? No.

Your better half is somewhere and only God through His leading and good choice making can make the path of you both cross. Like Ezekiel prophesied, I pray that you will gravitate towards your life partner in Jesus' name. No matter how distant the deer is to the stream, it gravitates towards it. There is a calling of it to come to the stream. Unless he drinks from the waters, he is unsatisfied and lacks rest. May the hollow and unsatisfactoriness in your life drive you to seek after that fellow who will bring completion to you. Let it be bone to its bone.

PRAYER: Lord, give me one that will be water to my deer, a satisfaction to my soul and a complement to/of my person.

WHY BE TEMPERED

Ecclesiastes 11:9, KJV "Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment."

God is never against our making choices though He desires we make the right choices. He placed life and death before Israel but still leaks the exam questions to them by whispering to their ears to choose life (Deut.30:19). That's how God desires we choose right despite having full right to choose from a variety of good or bad. If He wants us to be pruned of making choices, he'll have made a robot or eliminate alternatives.

God has given man freewill. The man He makes is one that can explore the world for himself. Somebody who can say like Solomon:

Ecclesiastes 2:10, KJV

"And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour."

Or one who will not make his liberty a bait to hook himself despite his having the privilege of doing anything that interests him (which of course may not interest God). We know that the undoing of Solomon was that he didn't deny himself some things his eyes saw and which his heart cheers or encourages him to do. If there's no inner restrain of the Holy Ghost on some choices, they'll be detrimental to you. That you have the right to choose what to eat shouldn't make you desire poison. Who don't know that would kill you?

Our passage for today is bringing to our prompt consciousness one reason why youths and all humans must be tempered: the remembrance of judgement. God is not against your exploring life like Solomon. That's why in the first place He makes you the wanting man he makes you. That's why He gave you sight. Just remember that after doing all as you may deem best to yourself, God will call you to account. Nobody is on his own. No human is an absolute authority or end of the road to himself.

Youths are known for experimentation. They are in a time of life where they want to have, taste and touch everything. When you restrict a youth on adventure, he might resent you and see you as one limiting the exercise of his liberty.

Meanwhile, God is not saying, "don't exercise your rights" but rather calling us to restricted liberty even while total liberty is given us. Though God has said you could make your choice and do whatsoever, it doesn't mean you should begin to live like Esau, as a profane man who despises his birthright. When you begin to fornicate, club and waste your time in this life, especially the ingredients of your calling, never think God won't call you into account one day for that.

So, what manner of man ought we to be when we know brightly that a day of accountability comes to request us to give a tender on how we've spent our time and used our free will. God isn't against enjoyment but sin must not be what you'll indulge in and call enjoyment. There are still choices to make out of choices that you think best.

To all of us without an exception to an age group, our moment on earth is the time of our choice. We can do anything, act anyhow (either good or bad) but we should bear at the back of our mind that we would be checked out. Our acts won't just go like that. So, hear and be tempered. Caution yourself and live a life that's acceptable before Jesus Christ your Saviour and the Father. You should fear and call yourself to immediate caution if you've run out of control because you were told today to know for sure that you'll be brought into judgement. The certainty of it is steadfast and you should expect that. So, that can't be a little reason to take dressing!

PRAYER: Lord, teach me right living on earth. I will not be baited by undisciplined liberty.

Happy Fathers' Day!

SLOW TO ANGER

READ Genesis 18:17-33

Genesis 18:32, KJV

"And he said, Oh let not the LORD be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake."

God is a father. What makes Him One is that He exhibits characteristics of a father. What makes a thing that thing is that that thing has the characteristics of that thing.

In today's passage, Abraham interceded for Sodom. He began to trade and banter with God when He saw God's resolution to destroy it. He said, "what if you find only fifty righteous?" Then, to forty five, forty, thirty, twenty and ten.

On each occasion he took it upon himself to speak to God, God gave him answer. As he kept pushing the frontier and going deeper enquiring on the same subject, God didn't get angry. The bearing ability of a father is immediately revealed here.

Abraham himself knew that it is natural of any man to be irritated of such consistent enquiry. That's why before he asks his questions, he'll take a humble position by saying, "I am but dust and ashes." In some occasions, he pleaded with God not to be angry with him. He knew he was indulging in excesses himself. If it were Abraham himself a servant had persistently questioned in that manner, he might have retorted back with, "you're a dummy. Don't you understand a thing?" That's human for you. We all have limit in elasticity of bearing.

God however is not like that. He is slow to anger. Abraham pressed him six times on the same subject yet God didn't lose his temper. Do you act in same manner towards your children as a father? Like Abraham testified being dust, God Himself knows our frame is dust which is why He bears with us. In those days, whenever I seek to take revenge on my younger ones for any bad done me, my father would tell me to let go. He'll say, "they're only being childish." He knew how to rightly describe and see my siblings but I believed they were very much wise to know proper conduct.

Today, God is calling you to one thing - being slow to anger. God wants you to be very difficult to arouse or made angry. Even if you're a teacher and a student is asking irrelevant questions, God still wants you to accommodate him. All of us must know that what we already know is but nothing to us but what others don't know is their mountains. So, tolerate people's inconsistencies, excesses, growth and pressing etc.

PRAYER: Father, make me a father after Your heart. I receive ability to bear with excesses. Bless all fathers to stand strong as one.

IT'S A MATTER OF TIME

Psalms 68:2,KJV

"As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire,so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

When I said "it's a matter of time", do you know it is indeed. I want to bring to your consciousness the need to be guaranteed and steadfastly assured that what you profess doing is first of all an initiative from the Lord. Why I'm I laying repeated emphasis on this truth?

I'm very sure that tests of life will arise that will prove whether that thing is genuinely from God or not. Both things called into being by God and  those self instituted will face this coming challenge. Like the house built on the rock retains its integrity, initiatives from God shall endure while those carved by humans and not directly ordained by God to be shall have the destiny of the house built on sand. The flood will carry it away. It shall no longer be noticed that it once exists. It shall be erased to the ground and disappeared out of observation.

That Bible portion says "as wax melts before fire..." What is wax? Let me give you a quick example? Take your shoe polish as an example. If you bring it near fire, what happens to it? It melts. From its firm position, it dissolves into liquid that could begin to pour off.

Before the fire, wax melts. That is, wax can't continue as wax. It has no endurance to continue as wax. From wax, it becomes another thing. The formation of wax makes it impossible for it to endure fire. Even far away from fire, it melts let alone being brought very near fire. The remedy for wax therefore not to be melted is for it to be prevented from having an encounter with fire. This however is impossible. You can keep hiding your wax initiative and protecting it. Meanwhile, test will expose its origin and content.  Life will attract tests and challenges to it.

Anything not called into existence by God will be terrified of being consumed in this life and that fear of its being consumed shall eventually be fulfilled on it.

Take for instance a nylon when brought near fire, it melts away as well. Just like wax, that nylon is melted into a kind of drops of liquid that can solidify again when it cools off. Meanwhile, it will be liquid as long as it remains near the heat or the pressure of fire.

God is saying I should tell you "that there are things that won't maintain their forms as time goes on." Those things shall see and flee! They shall sight from afar and shiver. What are those things? Anything that He doesn't inspire. Things that He doesn't cause to existence. Things His own very breath doesn't give life to. Things the words of His mouth doesn't call to manifestation. These  things could be systems/institutions, ideas, slogans, brands etc. As long as they are not divinely implanted things by God in the human mind, they'll one day melt away like wax melts before fire. We shall no longer hear of them surprisingly!

What is God saying? He's saying "you'll just wake up and hear that something has ended it." Something from the blues, from where you least expect, something striking will just force it into extinction.

I have waited on God and I have heard Him speak very clearly that many things shall be tested with fire these last days. Only few will survive. The handiwork of many ministers will be burnt. To escape this, let your initiative and moves be inspired by the Lord. What wins the approval of God and His rewards is what He has called to being and what He tells you to do in a manner He desires it done. Any concept outside this will be counted as dead work. It will attract no reward. It's 100% vain labour.

So, know that whatsoever does not stem from Him can't continue on the long run. Such will fall sick, fall out and eventually fall by the road side. However, if it originates from Him, it will endure from this time forth till evermore.

I therefore prophesy by the anointing of 'continue' with which God has creamed my head that time will not chisel you away. The works of your hands shall endure. It shall persist. It shall not be eroded or washed away. I pray that it shall still be speaking in Jesus' name.

PRAYER: Father of all ages, Ancient One of all centuries, let me outlast time with the works of my hands.

DEVIL DOESN'T FIGHT OVER SPILLED MILK

I Kings 3:23,KJV

"Then said the king, The one saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead: and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living."

Welcome all users. It's time to wing today's revelation to you. Get ready to trap and soak it into your spirit.

One thing the devil runs after is that which still breathes. As long as it still has the breath of life, then it will qualify for Satan's attention. Meanwhile, if it is dead, stinking and rotten, such is generously ignored by the devil.

The devil doesn't waste time on oranges that has no water in it nor glorified with sweetness of fluid. He doesn't throw sticks at such oranges. Meanwhile, if need be, he could spend years; years over years to reach and pluck down that singular orange that's the delight of God.

What were these prostitutes fighting for in this passage? A child right? Which of the child? Dead or living?

The devil isn't after what is spoilt or ruined. He's actually after that drum which still sounds well when beaten with sticks. The plan of satan is to tear that drum also. The devil doesn't want it give joy to anyone nor produce rhythmical sounds that's danceable. The devil is in outright and very serious flight after all the living children.

Here are two prostitutes at the king's court. Each of them were shouting two different things. Their poems didn't rhyme at all. It was cacophony of noise that day and the king would have shouted on them if not for toleration sake. One appealed "my lord, we both stay in the same room. We both had children. This one slept on hers and while I was sound asleep exchanged her dead son with my living son" which is why we are here. The other also responded "noo, what a liar you are! Yours is the dead child while mine is the living child." If that child were to be with defect or he's physically challenged, none would have fought that hard to have him. They fought over this child because he was still alive, breathing and in good health condition. Who doesn't want that which is good? Have you seen people fight over a man or woman who's insane before? That won't be anybody's prince or princess. If you're observant, you'll see that the dead child didn't receive any attention. None of the woman even brought him to the court. It was only the living child that a debate was on and he was therefore presented for settlement. Who opens a book and turns to the chapter of dead children? They're not fit for the earth again but the worms who await them.

Look at the devil fighting over what is not his. Look at the devil wanting to get the living child. Look at the devil pursuing a man with the call of God on his head. Not long ago, I began to flashback and  look at how much attacks have been unleashed on me and how much the devil want me forfeit ministry and forget it. The devil want to bury my voice while still alive. He wants to make me living dead which is the same plan he has for other anointed ministers. Whenever the door of ministry opens, it's as if the door of temptations opens with it. The devil in his brutality and full use of weaponry is running after all the living children. He knows case is closed over all dead children. He knows a minister that has been buried whose funeral has been concluded is completely useless against him. He knows he can't threaten him. He knows a dead baby can't cry any longer. He knows a sound from him if he makes any at all can't wake up anyone. If he does, that's by resurrection which only the Messiah: the Resurrection and the Life can perform Himself. However, the living child has a terrible cry. It cries always because it's living and has Araulah (God's breath) in me. He knows unless his burial ceremony is performed, he'll continue to disturb him. That's why the devil took the living child by night and even followed it to the court of king Solomon to see its end. The devil has great plans. Don't think they're sweet. He wants to make concerted effort to see that the living child becomes dead. What was the other prostitutes' response when the king said the baby should be cut into two and given to each of the prostitutes?

I Kings  3:26,KJV

"Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it."

God wants the living child to live on. The devil want it gasp for air until life drops out of his body. The devil want him substituted in ministry. The devil want his assignment truncated. That's the devil for you. He wants him take offence and be bitter; becoming selfish and engrossed in himself, still thinking he's right and very right. He is on his heels whistling after all living children. If you're alive, he's after you. If you've just been resurrected and restored, he won't suffer you to be alone. You must even be careful because you've been his client once upon a time.

Now, listen to my decrees which are God's decrees. May all living children escape and survive the attacks and the claims of Satan over them.

May the devil misses target over them. May they not allow sin as to open him a door to enter. May all who have fallen bounce back in astounding resurrection. May there be a great surge, quickening and movement as it was in the valley of dry bones. Dry bones...rise! Living ones... live on!

God's decrees!

PRAYER: God of all flesh, give me your armour to survive in battles. I take the whole armour. Lord, give me an intercessor in the secret place and an advocate at the court.

WHAT THE LORD DOES FOR A MAN WITH THE CALLING AND ONE HE IS PLEASED WITH

Isaiah 53:12,KJV

"Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors."

There is a thing that God does for a man with the calling. Any man that carries the calling should be encouraged by this promise even if he has not gotten to a place where indeed what was said about him will take place.

Because Jesus fulfilled His assignment, He was rewarded. The reward was that He was given space amidst the mighty. At least, we know that a name that's greater than any other name was given to him. He was assembled and numbered amidst those that could be called influential. Name is a very important thing. The name you carry or the name of whom you bear to do your operations determines the doors that will open to you (Philippians 2:9-11).

Jesus' name is very powerful because He was numbered amidst those whose names should be respected after passing through the sacrificial process of saving and redeeming man. He was not only numbered amidst them, His name carries the most precious value.

As a man persist in ministry and refuses to relent, God will make it possible for such upcoming aspiring minister to begin to cause waves. First of all, he must have earned the approval of God secretly. Then, God will begin to create an awareness of him and His works in his hands until he is accepted by the body of Christ. Once this is done, this man that was an unrecognized minister sometimes ago will be seen sitting amidst fathers and elderly ministers.

There is an inheritance in God's house that I believe can go round. It is go-round the table blessing. It is God that allocates and administers portions to us in the kingdom. No man can receive anything except it's sovereignly given to him from above. That scripture above said " I will divide him a portion with the great and he shall divide the spoil with the strong."

It is God that can reserve a seat for a man that's nobody today amidst the somebodies of today. There are already great people in your venture or profession but God is saying "you will be given a part of yours that makes those people great." That is, until you're given that portion, you can't be called great.

I believe a chair has been reserved for me in the tall places of this earth amidst envoys. I believe God's intention is to path way for me to sit where those who we respect and admire to listen to are. My space is where they are. God is watching over my seat amidst them to ensure that no one else sits or takes it.

When a man begins to divide the  spoil with the strong, he is no longer an ordinary man. The strong are warriors that have gone to the battle and have brought a lot of captives and booties of war. Now, because this mean man (previously) has now being numbered with the strong (promoted to stay and operate in the midst of the strong), he'll begin to enjoy the affluence, respect and admiration given the strong. Why? Because he also is now a strong man. There is nothing like it can't go round. By the time you get where you should get, those that have been there before you will divide the goodies of what they've been enjoying and sharing amidst themselves with you. They'll remember the number has increased. They'll have to recognize that a new member has been added to their big table by God. They'll have to share what they've been managing to you too. None will say "no!" May you fulfill divine mandates that creates space for a man amidst the strong.

May you get to a place where you will take your place with the great. Don't think there are no more seats up there. For those that God has intentions for, there is a big written order that says RESERVED on their seats. I pray, your seat is yours.

PRAYER: Lord, ascend and bear me to mount to take my seat amidst those that can't be pushed aside.

WITH YOU TILL THE END OF THE WORLD

Matthew 28:20, KJV

"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

Never say good bye abruptly. Departure is one of the sweet sorrow experiences each of us might need to bear with once in a while.

The verse above reveals the words of a lover to His loved. It takes somebody who has been thinking of how you'll cope to have made that statement. It is a statement of commitment and reassurance.

Jesus was leaving the earth bodily after His resurrection and appearance to His disciples. Now, at departure time while instructing the disciples on what to give attention to - preaching of the gospel worldwide; He said He's with them till the end of the world. Do you know what gives us the go ahead to plunge into preaching the gospel, doing missionary works in localities and on international scenes etc? it is the word of Jesus here. He said, "He's with us till the end of the world." That settles it. His saying He's with us immediately shows we will be opposed in preaching the gospel, for if there's no opposition, there's no need to be with.  Who don't know that presence is all that matters and if a greater presence said He's with us when presences of men inspired by the devil may show up to persecute or restrain us, we have reason to be assured of victory. Moses the man of God had open eyes concerning the greater presence.

Exodus 33:15, KJV

"And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence."

Departure isn't easy. It is like being taught on that scene to learn straightaway how to tear part of oneself away from one one has grown familiar with. The apostles off course were breathing heavily, sighing and were encumbered with what would become of their lives now that Jesus, their all in all is leaving. How many of you won't be disturbed if somebody with whom you've formed soul tie or a relationship of husband and wife is to leave you? Since the day his departure is hinted you, you'll begin to take thought for how difficult a lonely life would be. As the day nears, your sobriety will increase mixed with fear. Same happened to the disciples but the words of Jesus reveals His continuity with them even though not in the flesh.

God is thoughtful of all those who have lost a beloved either by temporary separation or death. No wonder Jesus Himself promised the disciples a comforter.

John 14:16, KJV

"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever."

Any valuable friend that leaves you creates a vacuum in your life. It has to be closed back. May God Himself find men for you and give you assuring words that can strengthen you to face life even at their absence.

PRAYER: Lord, when persecution weakens my feet and mouth, may I remember Your lover's word to me. Lord, gift me Your presence. Redeem me with a comforter always.

WHY YOU MUST BE SEARCHED BY THE LORD

Psalms 139:23-24,KJV

"23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:  24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."

Why do we sieve things? It's to separate the shaft from the wheat. Without sieving, the shaft will be taken with the wheat and that won't be fine. A man's heart is like a house that many things could be filled with. Only that the house seems like an underground house. This house could contain correct and incorrect things. When a man allows God to try him; that is run a check on his heart, he will be helped to discover what on his own he might not discover. The light of men and its inspection may not thoroughly peruse through and drag out issues from the nooks and crannies but God's will.

One major person that can examine you correctly without missing an iota of motive that's in your heart is God. Deep down your belly, God through His search light can see where dirts are settled at the bottom of your hearts. When He goes to and fro in His check, you will be surprised at the things God will raise to the surface in your life. He will raise issues with you that needs urgent attention.

Imagine a swimmer who dives into a river to get the sand at its bottom. Do you know that his hand can gather with the sand things like stones, broken pieces of glasses and other materials? Out of all these things, it's only the fine sand that he approves of. He does away with other things.

Psalms 26:2, KJV  "Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart."

God tries the rein. The inward part is not hidden before him. The thoughts of your hearts and the motives behind your actions are very visible to Him. Until He examines and weighs them, He wouldn't bring out a thought or motive that's wrong. You may be saying something but mean another yet God who tries the rein knows what is what by discernment. A man can't be called upright until a check is done on his heart. The condition of his heart is what matters and not the countenance he projects out primarily.

When the psalmist asked God to search him, it was a request he made out of desperateness of being made perfect or one made out of wanting to proof his being neat at heart before God. He called God to run His test which doesn't make mistakes nor fail to collect what ought to be collected so that if there are imperfections in his life, they might be detected. The prayer of this psalmist is of one who wants revival. It is of one who wants to be used by God. It is of one who withholds nothing from God and won't even keep any iota of secret. It shows surrendering and unshamed intention. Do you know you don't know yourself really well? God knows you. That's why you need to pray often that God will try your heart and help you detect: by showing to you what problems still need to be fixed and put right in your life.

Until then, many wicked ways will still lie quietly in you waiting to blow up one day. Envy may be seething at your heart's bottom. The root of bitterness may be boiling there from deep wounds of offence. Exposing them now to you comes with their elimination. When such are tracked down, the next thing is to be led in the way everlasting which means a state of walking in perfection before God.

PRAYER: Lord, try my heart and see if there is any wicked way in me. Check my goods and see if there are smuggled goods that need to be collected. You're the custom officer.

ATTACKING THE POINT OF WEAKNESS

READ Acts 3:1-8

Acts 3:7, KJV

"And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength."

If you want to fill up a hole, where do you pour sand into? Inside the hole where there's a gulf or around it? There is a place that needs ministration also. Just like we take tablets for healing of whatsoever is sick in us (to attack a specific thing), so do the anointing do travel to places that needs it when ministration or administration of it is done.

In today's passage, a man lame from birth is ministered to by Peter in the company of John. Peter had said this:

Acts 3:6, KJV

"Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk."

At this proclamation, this fellow still did not walk until Peter held him up. Then, where the problem was located receives a donation of strength. His feet and ankle bones were enabled. Picture the anointing as if it was a drip or a liquid passing through the veins of that man when he had hand to hand contact with Peter. You may not know but the anointing entered and travelled down to his feet to locate the problem. When it got there, it fought that lameness, overthrew it and then enforce its own will by strengthening those same deactivated muscles and bones.

A lame is lame because he couldn't use his feet and majorly because some muscles, bones e.t.c. couldn't coordinate and function as they should. Ankle speaks of a joint but a joint that's not together. Until the anointing (in form of strength) went to these areas, the man couldn't stand up nor help himself. That's his point of weakness. A place where the anointing is needed. Anyone who desires to do a thing by himself but naturally can't do it requires a strength or external help to get it done. That man desires to walk but can't until an ability strengthened him to.

One day, I was on the field where an evangelist preached and many were healed. A lame on a wheel chair that many of us wanted to walk couldn't walk because her feet and ankle bones couldn't receive strength. We did like Peter did to this one after the declaration of the man of God, yet nothing. We said, "try, you can stand up." I said those words myself and wanted her to stand up because she was nursing twins at that time. Yet, the muscles and bones were still feeble, soft, tender and disabled still. So, while others were standing up, leaping for joy, shouting and at that same instance were being paraded as they stammer in walking for testimony, she couldn't. That day, I learnt that it is not all that would be healed at once. God will touch those He will touch and He'll leave. Faith e.t.c. are also some factors. That's why I'm not discouraged when I minister and nobody gets healed or few only gets healed. God's presence is what matters. His presence also may be around but if He's still not willing, you can't fake miracles.

The anointing though a spiritual substance knows the way. It does travels. If a minister lays hands on a cancer patient now, if it is gastric cancer for instance, the anointing journeys down to the stomach to make amelioration. God is always on point. He doesn't beat round the bush. He doesn't waste resources but allocates them or sends it on special specific errands. Once it's released, it's always allocated to go to the very place where the problem lies. The very centre of the problem that a demon may be ruling over.

Is there any there with medical reports, sickness or disease in their bodies, consciously known by you or not, may that place receives an allocation of the anointing. May you experience wholeness, healing in that particular place. May you be set free in Jesus name. Those with feet, legs, ankles and sole problems, may the anointing soothes you there and recovers you.

PRAYER: I believe in You, the same yesterday, today and forever. Heal me of my sickness, disease (mention that specific one i.e leprosy or cancer).

RESPONSIBILITY OR PRESTIGE FIRST OF ALL?

READ Acts 6:1-4

Genesis 39:6, KJV

"And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat..."

Responsibility brings prestige and not vice-versa. We must know what to give priority to that causes other things to exist. You can't seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness and not have all these things added unto you (Matthew 6:33).

In today's passage, Potiphar took no thought for anything he had except the food he ate. He has found a trustworthy fellow in whose hands everything blossoms that he could delegates to. You might therefore mistaken Joseph as the hard worker and Potiphar as the eater only! You might turn to defend Joseph for being made the donkey and abuse Potiphar for his laziness, neglect and inaction.

There's prestige in that act of Potiphar leaving all to Joseph. However, what cause it? That's typical of men of status. Many of the works they should attend to are being attended to by others. Do they just choose to be excused in order to be gallivanting around?

Despite the fact that Potiphar left all that concerns the household in the hands of Joseph doesn't make an irresponsible man out of him. It was the so many demands in his hands that warranted his looking out for whom to delegate to in the first instance. Potiphar was the chief of guards of Pharaoh. In those days, politicians do go on campaigns even outside their countries. At this time, Egypt rules as a world power. Imagine the responsibilities in the hands of any attached to Pharaoh in government. So, when Potiphar left household duties to Joseph, it was not to be sleeping and waking up but to rather give attention to utmost important things.

One thing that's typical of all high leaders is that they free their time from things that could waste it or divert it from its ultimate focus. Potiphar already had much at hand and if he'll perform effectively in order to satisfy Pharaoh who had enlisted him, he must seek to see how his works could be cushioned. Why make a priority of domestic matters when national matters cry out for help. From earning commendations for national jobs well done, domestic matters receive life, allocation and resources from which they take their being. Off course, there's a place of giving attention to family. This is where Potiphar might have missed it which might have caused the wife to descend so low as to have the head of slaves, Joseph in bed. Of course, that's who she sees daily. Potiphar was therefore revealed by this event as one that rarely stays at home. That's why it was not until Potiphar arrives that she shows him the false evidence she has against Joseph and further accuses him to him. Only a busy man is not always available.

What am I saying? If you embrace the work, you'll have the prestige. Potiphar was doing the work before it got to a place where he was too big to continue taking thought for some issues. So, he had it delegated. You can grow to a place also where your social media accounts are managed for you; where domestic workers are the ones who does the laundry, cooking and cleaning. This won't just come by desiring it but by living the life that gives it.

There's no one that gives himself to the demands of his calling or career that won't one day face the consequence of enlargement faced in verse 1 of Acts 6 that warranted needing further hands. Once enlargement steps in, such is going to be besetted on every sides and would begin to look for escapes. In seeking solutions, he'll have to drop off some lesser duties to embrace higher ones on which his life hinges to preserve his relevance. This is where the apostles of the Lamb got to before they say, "look out for yourselves men that are full of certain qualifications and let them see to this matter. As for us, we'll major in the ministry of the Word and prayer." It wasn't that they were exercising pride by saying they can't serve tables again. We knew they once did.

So, as a leader, know the wheat from the shaft. No what to delegate from what to cling to. That's your salvation from being idle also. It isn't pride that Potiphar no longer takes thought for petty issues (when a Joseph is there); higher responsibilities called him to come up hither.

Don't just salute people as the boss (those enjoying life only) or think they have all the time to spare when you discover they don't do domestic or ordinary tasks daily. No. They're still as busy or busier than before despite the jettisoning of those tasks.

Whenever there's a jettisoning, it is the elimination of a lower task for a higher and riskier task. So, the task is still tasky. So, don't covet a big status if you can't live out its responsibilities.

PRAYER: Lord, teach me what to pay attention to as I scale the ladder of leadership. May I not have misplaced priority.

WHEN MEN ARE RELIEVED

Read Exodus 8:1-15

Exodus 8:15,KJV

"But when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, he hardened his heart and hearkened not unto them; as the Lord had said."

I have come to discover that when men are under fire - suffering, facing persecution or being disturbed by one challenge or the other; they seek for an escape  and won't mind getting it right away and any how. As a matter of fact, once they're cornered, they seek with all their heart a solution. In seeking a solution, you can see their desperation. They can make promises and vow to turn a new leaf after their problems are attended to. They can tell the Lord if He is the one disciplining them they would turn a new leaf if He gives them one more chance. They just want relieve.

However, these people tend to surprise God. They most times don't live up to their words. You will see them change gears and reverse backwards on the very thing they said they would do when the Lord keeps His part of the bargain.

This vividly describes Pharaoh in today's passage. Though it was God that hardens his heart for a purpose He deems fit yet we learnt one nature of man and response to situation once given an opportunity to repent and reorder his life or make amends. What's that?

God had said through Moses and Aaron "let Israel go" but Pharaoh would not. So, God began to show forth His signs. One of such was to turn their water to blood. After that came the swarm of frogs that covered the whole land. It was during this time that Pharaoh begged Moses for relieve.

Exodus 8:8,KJV

"Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Intreat the Lord, that He may take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may do sacrifice unto the Lord."

Did you hear Pharaoh. He meant "if God let go the frogs, I will also let go the people." Meanwhile, after being eased at the departure of the frogs and the taking away of his besetting problem, did he let Israel go? No.

Why? He saw that there was respite. At his relieve , he has left the tightness and strictness that occupies him before. His leaving that condition gives him hope not to succumb. So, he goes on to be hardened.

That's the nature of every man which Pharaoh continually exhibited until destruction sweeps over him. Give people an inch and they will go a mile. When people needs help, they prostrate and promise to be humble, do all kinds of menial jobs but what do they become when succoured? They evolve into monsters and masters. You will wonder "is that not that same fellow that was pleading for forgiveness with a promise to become a new leaf? Why has he not changed indeed even after his being succoured." It is because he is now comfortable like before and is in a good condition to go on to try the Lord. Many promises and vows made in troubles are not genuine. They are made to get miracles and solutions. That's why they're forgotten to be redeemed after getting the answers. Only a fellow with Hannah's heart will redeem his.

Don't think you can play on God and escape. Pharaoh thought God was a fool but the drama reveals the fool at the day's end. Be mindful not to promise a thing you won't fulfill when in desperation because God will not hold you guiltless.

Correct is therefore the passage that says:

Job 14:7-9, KJV

"7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.  14:8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;  14:9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant."

This hope once delivered to people can be misused and do make them go on in their old life instead of changing their ways. However, look at what God is saying about that.

Acts 17:30,KJV

"And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:"

So, compromisers, repent. Truce breakers, turn a new leaf.  Sinners, become believers. Don't use this given opportunity to fight God once more.

PRAYER: Lord, may I not take for granted Your longsuffering. May I make use of forgiveness and respite and not test how powerful You are.

THE WISE TREE

Psalm 1:3, KJV

“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

By the time this teaching will be ending, you will be seeing the wise man and the foolish man. These two are symbolized by the wise tree and the unwise tree. We were told that a man that does verse one and two of Psalm one will eventually become somehow. That somehow is that he will become like a tree planted by rivers of water with some certain qualities.

A tree planted by rivers of water in this context is the wise tree. It is a wise tree that is planted near a source of supply. Only a wise man can have the wisdom of correct association with a thing that will fuel it.  What concerns trees that are planted far away from the rivers of water do not concern this other tree or person who keeps verse one and two. When others are dry and are savouring help; when others’ beauty have started fading as symbolized by their leaves withering, this tree or this man will still remain robust even in dry season. So, he can’t but eventually be a wonder.

Now, I want to teach you the importance of correct association. If you look at this man said to be like a tree planted by rivers of water, he doesn’t run dry because of his association with God and His law which he meditates on day and night. Developing correct association is necessary for survival in this life because hard times will rise. There is wisdom in knowing whom to join oneself to against famine. Even the prodigal son, he learnt right association by joining himself to a citizen of that country at famine (Luke 15:15).

Now, consider the man who avoids all those mentioned in verse one and what they may have to give but have God’s law as his obsession and crush to the extent that he opens his Bible constantly to see what is written there, confirms the latest things quickened to his spirit. Such man can’t be cut off. He will literally continue when other men (other trees) have gone out of services in bearing fruits (contributing their quota where it is needed) and as at when needed. A tree planted by rivers of water will naturally take succour even at dry seasons in the fact that he has a power house from which supply can be drawn. That’s what God’s word is to us. It is a supply that we draw from daily for continuous survival. At the time that the world is shouting “casting down”, that’s what makes us shout continuously “lifting up.” That’s why we haven’t felt tired or light in spirit or at heart. That word renews us, gives us energy and refreshes us. It sets us on edge and takes away what should have been bluntness. What makes a man that has daily contact with the word have a prosperous result can’t be divorced from the inspiration, counsel, warning he has received from the word he meditates on day and night. Do you think it is easy for one to take an activity to a level of day and night? That is like taking an activity to a calling level instead of operating at a common level.

If naturally people will not deny trees water so it can survive by either watering it often or planting it where it will tap the supply of water by itself, shouldn’t you plant yourself in the word of God? Shouldn’t you make it your delight? Why is it that I can write and write and want to still write without getting tired? It is because I have planted myself and plugged myself both day and night into a supply of God’s word for daily inspiration. If a tree that has known joy and daily watering because of its plantation by rivers of water (an association that feeds it) is uprooted off that location, do you think it will continue to manifest all the positive outcomes stated in verse 3b. Nooo!

Today, I want you to identify God as the first source to cultivate intimacy with. You have already being given access to Him at salvation. You can therefore have intimacy with Him. Daily washing of your feet in the water of the word of God is how you can maintain that relationship daily like a man maintains his marital relationship with his wife by being responsible in all aspects. After this, identify men that are rivers of water from which you can draw from.

PRAYER: Lord, make You and Your Word my obsession day and night.

WHO AMONG YOU IS QUALIFIED?

John 8:7,KJV

"So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."

The issue of qualification is being emphasised here. Qualification is an important thing. Unless you're qualified, has passed the test and excel in an area where you're being questioned, you might not be fit to do what you should do.

A woman was caught in the very act of adultery. She was brought to Jesus and a demand was made that she should be stoned to death according to the Mosaic law. However, they requested of Jesus what His own opinion was. Jesus then brought in the issue of qualification. He told them that it's not all of them that might be able to throw the stone except those ones that have not sinned before. Jesus checked them out. They were tested and to my utmost surprise, all of them failed. None of them passed the test of throwing even a singular stone.

This is exactly how people are failing in life. Many people looks like the qualified but aren't qualified. They have the title but don't have the life. What will show them as not having the qualification required for the task to be done will appear one day.

Imagine the number of people who had been protesting to get the job done. They wanted to throw stones but what happened after they  were put to test? All of them left from the eldest to the youngest. Their hearts convicted them. None of them passed and could throw the stone. They were all found wanting after being weighed. They were found unfit despite their own confession to be able to do the job. Some of them might have probably picked up stones (the tools) to even get the job done (execute the woman) but all was dropped eventually because they were disqualified. They got ready (for stoning) but were not ready indeed.

May you be found worthy for the task. May you not be exposed as incapable or deficient in getting the job done after examination.

PRAYER: Lord, I purge myself of any sin as a minister that will deny my entrance into a kingdom task. I shall not be found wanting or barricaded against in doing a God given task. I shall pass the test and be the right man for the job.

A MAN OF LIKE PASSION

James 5:17,KJV

"Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months."

Passion is what equalizes all of us. Elijah, the great man of God was just like any one of us. He has feelings, affections and a constitution like ours. Meanwhile, he was also able to live beyond being human because he was able to exercise his divine side. That was the part that makes him not look like a man of like passion with the constitution of ours. Because of being a man of like passion, that could have restricted and hindered him from living the God life. This part which is divine however that anointed men of God constantly exhibits is what has deceived many into sinning. They thought "I'm not prone to falling again." Raising the dead is not a guarantee that you can't backslide. Aren't you still having human affections?

On another note, that Elijah wrought the supernatural is an assurance that while we're humans in this flesh and while we still exhibit our human nature yet we can live under the divine constitution. That Elijah was a man of like passion means he was consequently opened to all the challenges you're facing and complaining about now in the flesh. There were moments his own body moved too. He only had to subdue it. He felt hunger e.t.c also.

Even our men of God today and those we call daddy or mummy have parts of the opposite sex they like and are falling for. That makes them truly a man of like passion that is vulnerable to temptation, seduction and even backsliding just like anyone. Our frame is dust: still flesh and blood though we may be anointed or fire brand. So, beware and take caution around the opposite sex.

The disciples were men of like passion also. That's why they experienced weakness to pray somewhere.

Matthew 26:40, KJV

"And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto peter, what, could ye not watch with me one hour?  26:41 watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

If you're too tired to pray (which is not an excuse for that exercise), it's because you're a man of like passion. Angels don't get tired. It is in the nature of man to be tired.

Even Paul was a man of like passion. That's why Paul said " I put my body under." He knows being unguarded for a minute can wreck down all his years in Christ. That's an exercise that everyman of like passion must do daily or else you may not know when you'll stray in thoughts and begin to sleep with someone in your heart. Consequently, you can do it live. You will feel sexually aroused as a correct man of like passion but you must keep your body under until you're married or until you have your partner ready (if married) to communicate ministration to you (I Corinthians 9:27).

Why did Paul keep his body under? He was a man of like passion with blood, cold blood running through his veins. Please, don't do counselling behind close doors nor start prayer with the opposite sex and hold hands. Doing so is wanting to reap consequences. Can a man carry fire in his bosom and not be burnt?

Let's ask "why did Paul counsel that every man should have his own spouse?" It is because he knows we're men of like passion. That's why he said "in order to avoid fornication." He knows only humans can commit fornication and not angels. Our own make up makes us men of like passion. Knowing that is the key for building defences.

I Corinthians 7:2-3, KJV  "Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband"

These are just a run through of the fact that we are men of like passion who is susceptible to weakness, failure, fear, temptation, hunger, thirst, pressure e.t.c that a human being like us will be opened to.  In the light of this, we will know how to behave and take preventive measures which will keep our body under subduing. As bitter as it is, no man can kill being a man of like passion because that's why he still feels hungry, thirsty or sleepy. We can only control and subdue the exhibition of the nature in man that can bring him into sin.

PRAYER: Lord, may I not be deceived that I need not to take caution in life even as a man of like passion.

READ II Kings 6:24-33,7:1-20

II Kings 6:24,KJV

"And it came to pass after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria."

Benhadad was a wise man. He didn't engage in a direct battle with Samaria nor go confrontationally and have casualties. He besieged and refused to leave except Samaria by itself surrenders. The brain behind besieging is to surround with armed forces for the purpose of compelling to surrender (not by war this time but by voluntariness that comes from a necessity). To get this done, Benhadad came with all his army to lay siege. He didn't reserve any. He wanted to ruin Samaria once and for all and he didn't withhold any weapon or resource that could ensure that. Companied with this, he also came with enough provision that could be lived upon by his forces until Samaria grows tired and surrenders. Benhadad was looking for a voluntary surrendering from Samaria and he sure hoped getting one. He won't go coercive as in a battle. He had chosen that method of war without weapons to compel Samaria to surrender when they reach their breaking point. He was waiting for a time when the king would say "I surrender. I'll be under tribute. You can retreat."

Did it get there? Almost. Things actually turned sour against Samaria as planned by the Syrians. Samaria was being broken day in day out as the Syrians gave persistence to continue to besiege them. They even got near final breaking point. At a time, only a strand was left of Samaria to be broken. This was the time Syria's expectation of victory rose.

II Kings 6:25,KJV

"And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver."

Have you seen that? It even got to head and people resolved into feasting on humans! Sure enough, all these were the expectations of Benhadad and his forces. They had said to themselves "let Samaria alone. Once they get tired and get to a breaking point (where they could no longer bear with this method of ours nor contain hunger), they'll cry up for relieve and shall surrender." That was their heartbeat against Samaria and this had started happening already. The besieging had created a terrible famine while the famine had made townsmen cannibals! Aren't they obviously near surrendering?

However, there was a u-turn of event to the disgrace of the Syrians. God put them to flight while Samaria took advantage of this to plunder their camps and get relieve. This was how Samaria survived being broken eventually. It was then Samaria had the testimony of Paul that says "We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed." II Corinthians 4:8-9,KJV

Syria had written their will and predicted their destiny but there was a reversal of the order.

Samaria though had had casualty survived this great besieging and emerged to amend in stature again. May you also recover and surpass the thoughts of those who are waiting for you to be broken so you could look unto them for life. May your being broken: defeated, put to shame, embarrassed or seek relieve from an enemy e.t.c be ever postponed for evermore.

PRAYER: God of interception and prophecy, invade and supervise my life with your superordinate will that stands above the enemy's acts.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Kings 2:1-3:2, Acts 5:1-42, Psalm 125:1-5, Proverbs 16:25

WHY SOME WASTE THEIR TIME

 WHY SOME WASTE THEIR TIME

Join Us @ Above!

Let's talk!

I want you know it is better to be busy, so occupy that you'll need to search for a breathing space for yourself. One of the things that has helped and is helping me is that I have works to do. I mean works that spread round the clock - one that has filled all the gaps of my twenty four hours.

That thing is more advantageous to all of us that have works to do than it has been disastrous.

When I look at my life, the lives of other serious minded people in my generation; I concur I must not lessen the working of this principle in my life. I must keep on taking much tasks. It's better to be daily called to come up hither than to be suddenly reduced.

Have you not observe it - that people who have less work to do are careless with their time? Since they're assured of much time in their hands, come and see procrastination. You'll be hearing a thing like, "I'll still do it" ; "don't worry, there's still time."

Do you want to know why they deceptively console themselves with these dangerous statements - thereby coming to a place of soulish satisfaction that they're in control?

...because they seem to have much time with little works to fill it with! However, if you know if you don't do a job immediately, you would bear its brunt, won't you be prompt in using your time?

If you have much work to do daily, the twenty four hours would look to you like it is no longer enough. Since time is therefore not enough for you, you dare not joke to utilize it. So, there's no carrying over of activities. You utilize time by being forcefully brought to the acknowledgement that you can't let your own time slips. If I watch a movie, it's the last thing and it is always purposefully chosen. Now, no accidental movie - like I stumble on them and it's interesting and decide to watch with them. No! That time has it's own purpose. I'll rather collect, reschedule and watch it later.

I have been continuously brought to separate myself from men's common practices because of my daily obligations. When you have demands that must be settled daily with time appropriated to them, you know you can't live carelessly. Is it the devotional I'll allow to be sent at 9am? That's too late. People have even hit their work places at 6:30am. Even when we send it at times at 7:00am, we beg God for mercy because it is Him we have to do with.

I looked at one man in the Bible, whose name was famous. He occurs in many books of the Bible including Revelation. That was David!

David was trapped when he relieved himself of his duties. You must know that assignment will protect you from backsliding and having time for irrelevancies. Meanwhile, if you seem to have eternity as time in your hands, you will be tempted to be careless with how you spend it. You're not to blame. Since you don't have enough works for your much time, you can't but slip into irrelevancies

II Samuel 11:1, KJV

"And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem."

This deputizing of David costs him a lot in this life. The spot in his white garment came as a result of that. From there, internal family problems like incest, murder, rivalry e.t.c. entered.

So, what's the consequence of this act?

II Samuel 11:2, KJV

"And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon."

You know the rest of the story. If David was at the battle, could 10,000 naked women get his attention? Can you so much love women as to directly and outrightly desire you die?

Won't you want to mind the arrows, the clashing of swords e.t.c. Even if you were drunk in an amorous thought, the whining of horses and blood spilling would catch your attention.

What's the message? What couldn't get David because he was always occupied got him when he was relaxed of his tasks. That's why many former fellowship excos, church or other holders of spiritual/public offices do become something else after leaving the office. Do you know why? After they left, they didn't hold themselves to higher responsibilities like before.

The office you're occupying can hold you to a higher responsibility than you'll have held yourself without being in office. It can call you to a higher living and tie you down to responsibilities.

While I was on campus, I was three presidents in three places during my final years. Yet, I've been serving since 100 level as an exco. In those offices with their demands, I obviously couldn't act anyhow. I couldn't talk anyhow. I couldn't go to some places for vain reasons. More so, because of the many demands of these three offices on me at the same time, I managed the little time that excoship had left me. That's why I still graduated with a good grade. Meanwhile, people with lesser responsibilities became consoled that they had all days and could take their time on things. So, they went easy or cozy on themselves.

That's why many people still didn't graduate with very good grades despite not having responsibilities like many excos of many fellowships while on campus.

Once you know there are many demands on your time, there's one thing you can't bargain. That's "how do I utilize this little left". That's what others with eternity don't consider.

Now, I have left campus more than five years ago and it is easier to be careless because I've left all the works that kept me busy. Meanwhile, if I don't want to have a history like David's, I must always be busy

One day, I checked one of my campus' preaching diary and I saw that I had to minister in 10 places in a week! There was a week like that. I was shocked. That came because I was the campus' president, Chapter's president and then my fellowship's president. I could remember those days. I was dashing out preaching engagements and using some to train excos that would take over after me. I could remember I sent the Bro. I handed over to in my fellowship on one of the engagements to minister at a fellowship's prayer band's retreat.

May I tell you the truth. Since I've left campus, I've never had a week, even a month I had 10 preaching engagements on ground.

A lesson that opportunities don't come often. If you get it, use it well.

Now, what other things can I do to be strongly occupy like that of  those days. If I don't do it, I won't enjoy my being because those stretching days had already created a capacity in me to do much things without complaining of tiredness. That's why till today, I can write many teachings in a day. You're a witness that my own teachings are always long. I had to learn brevity because of many requests not to weary men. God can't be finished but men can be wearied.

Today, I work in the secular and does ministry. As I'm nurturing my career; I'm growing my calling. My goal is to become a Professor of African Literature while my destiny is to become a renown minister with impact that touches the ends of the earth. These are the two things I'm dying for. If the works become too strong one day, career would have to be phased out for calling. That's the summary but if I should outline my daily routines, you'll flee!

What makes my time not enough are the daily things I do. My fiancée is the only one that could testify of how often I sleep in the night.

My rest in the night is few. That's why I try doing little sleep in the day. Why? There are just so many things to attend to. I have one lifetime but my marks must be left here. I'll wear out all my assignments before God calls me to Himself.

So, assignments will preserve your life. Don't lessen its effect. Take much work. Laden yourself. Don't fear sickness. Don't fear stress. Don't pity yourself. Like that demon possessed man that was hurting himself with stones day and night, without considering its effect (anyway, because he was mad), do same in wisdom that doesn't fear consequences of extremity.
