MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL - Olusola & Oreoluwa ADEJUMO

GOD'S REMEMBRANCE 

Ecclesiastes 12:1, KJV

"Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them."

Are you there feeling you have gone far from God? Are you wondering why you are cumbered and couldn't have time for Him as you want? All those may be true about you. It may be true that you're very busy. It may be very true that your 9am-5pm job is taking much of your time and even your after work time. 

However, something is still working for you and that is your remembrance of God. You're very different from many people who call themselves Christians who can go weeks without fellowshipping with God and yet won't feel convicted back to His presence. A man that still remembers God in his endeavour even if it's just to say prayers at the steering wheel hasn't lost it. That's a man whose heart still pants after God. Only that he needs much allowance to do it. 

Which of these men are you? The man that God is not in his thought at all or the one who carries Him all around often. When you carry the remembrance of God in your heart, you'll often feel after Him. You'll often want to do His will. To you, His conscious presence is not something that has departed from you. To you, He is still very tangible. Your time of relating or experiencing Him might have been reduced but you still wonder when you shall come and look at His face. 

Psalms 42:2, KJV

"My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?"

This Psalm chronicles and reveals the hearts of those who haven't forgotten God in their thoughts. They not only sanctify Him in their hearts, they're seeking physical means and space of bowing before Him in expression of their belief. Did you not see what the psalmist says? He says he is thirsty after God. That is, he desires to have satisfaction by Him. God is just like a refreshing water/oasis in a desert and when you have accustomed with Him, you can't but feel a kind of loss or alienation when you're beginning to be far from Him in fellowship. This is the exact thing (thirst) that'll drive you to His chest.

Is your own cry also, "when shall I come and appear before God?" Are you there wondering if you'll ever get even some minutes at work to face the wall or speak behind your computer? Has it gotten here where missing God cannot be replaced by anything but by fellowship and that you now seek. I pray for you, may your thirst be quenched. May your longing be met. May your prayers be answered. May you indeed have the allowance you cry for. 

For the weary and tired travellers on this journey seeking refreshment, may the Lord meet you at the very point of your need. You just need a little off work time to turn to God and have that satisfaction. It could even be some minutes in the rest room. Go and separate yourself unto God. Do it at your break time. Do it at your wheel. Do it in the public bus. Do it at the banking counter. Muter prayers. All these reveal a Christian who's still alive and not dead. Some are, having forgotten God. That you still pine after Him, seeking fellowship moment is a revelation that you're still conscious of Him and He also is expectant of you than you can ever imagine. 

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for the constant remembering of You. May You forever be hidden in my heart, drawing me to Yourself.
