THINGS THAT ARE NEEDFUL AND SUFFICIENT FOR ME - Food Convenient For Me Series 002

Proverbs 30:8, KJV

"Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:"

Brenton LXX Version of the Bible interprets and says this of the verse above: "appoint for me what things are needful and sufficient."

Immediately, you begin to see that God doesn't sponsor wastefulness. Even on occasions that Jesus wrought miracles of multiplying bread, He still asked His disciples to pick up and measure the left overs. God has therefore done all things well. 

This version says, "appoint for me what things are needful and sufficient." That automatically means that many things a lot of people are gunning for aren't needful for them. You see, God is not committed to satisfying your lusts but rather your needs. A lot of people have grown wings in appetite - believing being materialistic is whole. I am so sure that many of the unnecessary spending that a lot of people do are done because they want to impress or out-compete people. God is never committed to helping you realize provision for those. However, when God has finished meeting your needs, your hands can make those for you and that's exactly what a lot of people do and that's why a number of them are also in debt. They push what God is not pushing. They enlarge what God is not enlarging. 

I have an event in Acts of the Apostle to drive home the understanding of this verse that I've been explaining since yesterday. 

Acts 4:34-35, KJV

"Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need."

Note the latter ending, "...and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need."

That paints the idea of things that are needful and sufficient. Let me explain this further. Imagine yourself and your neighbour belonging to a group. You sold a property for #100,000 and brought the whole money to the chair leaders of the group. He also sold a property for #20,000 and submitted the proceeds as well. However as time travels by, both of you have needs. Your own needs only require #10,000 while his requires #70,000. Meanwhile, what he contributed was nothing compared to the need he now has. 

That's the system of operation amidst the early disciples. They didn't mind who contributed much, they distributed as each had a need. They gave to people to cure all, meet all and eradicate their genuine needs. The allocation was done according to the needs in people's lives. They didn't give every person the same allocation. No! The Bible says, "and distribution was made unto everyone as he had need."

You see, that's the idea of "food convenient for me." It meets your needs. It comforts your obligations not your flimsy aspirations. Whenever you pray, "give me food that is convenient for me", you're necessarily praying, "give me my own allocation as it fits me and my needs." You're in essence saying, "I have needs on ground to meet. It is this and that. When allocation is made, it'll be for those exact needs."

I see bread convenient for me as an allocation that God prepares like a scholarship to help our infirmity or inability to provide that means for ourselves. 

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for meeting my needs and giving me food convenient for me. I commit to you as my sponsor.
