GOD: THE FRUSTRATOR! - The Lying Mouth Series 003

Job 5:12, KJV

"12 He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise."

God is also a frustrator. If you stand in the way of His will, He will stand up to frustrate you. It can be a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Lord you know. What do I mean by that? Let's see that verse in a new light.

"He frustrates the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot carry out their plans."

God is a frustrator. Just ensure you're not the one He is frustrating because you have become a wall to His people or counsel. When that place says, "He [God] frustrates the devices of the crafty", what does it imply? What does "frustrate" mean as used in that context?

To frustrate means to gag, disturb, hinder, vex, annul, oppose, invalidate etc. The interpretation that's occurring to my mind which I'll be working with is, "gag." What happens when a thing is gagged? Take for instance a person, he could eventually die because he's being hindered from respirating. Let me give you an example of being gagged. I know you've watched movies where a fighter gags his opponent by covering his mouth and nose. At times, a man could be gagged by taking hold of his neck or putting pressure on that point. If things refuse to return to normal as soon as possible, that gagged person will drop dead especially when air flow is discontinued.

That portrayal paints a picture of frustration. The gagged man is a frustrated man. You'll often see him fight for his life because he wants to escape that position of being gagged, subdued and discomforted. He'll protest to be free but if he's too weak, he'll pass out eventually.

Another imagery that explains being frustrated is a shoot that you disallow to see or receive sunlight. Let's say you plant a seed that has now sprouted. You can gag it in order to frustrate it until it dies or passes out. Just cover the entire plant with a plastic and hinder it from photosynthesis - the process of making its food in the presence of sunlight. Sooner or later, it'll wither and die. Why? You've disturbed its growth and progress. You didn't fund it or allow it to flourish and grow.

Pick those images, stamp them into the two stories we read in thread 001 and 002 of this series. One is the counsel of Ahithophel that was made foolish and the other, the siege and wisdom of Benhadad, King of Syria that was disturbed and broken by the Lord. Why would the Lord terminate these two ongoing processes in their works and plans? Why would the Lord take them in their craftiness? That same verse says, "so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise." You see, if the Lord doesn't step in as quickly as possible, one sinner might have destroyed much good. For that reason of hindering them from succeeding or carrying out their unwanted plans, God had to stop them in their tracks - while they were plotting or carrying out their plots.

So the element of warfare He uses is FRUSTRATION. He gags them! He starves them of forward movement and eventual success. He blocks their path. He refuses them. He disturbs them. He shakes them to nothingness. All those are the meaning of "frustrate."

May God not frustrate you or your work. When you're frustrated, you'll be vexed and you can be frustrated until you're mad at yourself or the ongoing activities you have at hand that's not succeeding. When a Christian is gagged or his work is being frustrated, he might want to check if that's the Lord's move to protect him from going outside His will. In this case, that act of gagging, hindering or frustrating will pass as an act of God's mercy and a means of withholding his feet from running a vain race.

I pray for you that you will not stand in the way of the Lord nor His will. May you not be gagged. May you not be frustrated. Rather, may you be allowed to flower and have free hands to flourish and blossom. I'm seeing something concerning how you'll flourish.

Psalm 128:3, KJV

"Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table."

That's how you'll grow and flourish unhindered. It'll be like a fruitful vine and an olive plant. Receive it!

PRAYER: Lord, I shall be your co-worker and not a resistance of your will, plan and people.
