TAKE AWAY THE DROSS

Proverbs 25:4, KJV

"Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer."

You are a treasure and you are very very invaluable. You have something of worth and great price in you. 

However, you're under an attack. I see something lowering itself on you in order to keep you from rising or ever be useful for God's use. That's what our verse for the day identifies as the dross. The dross has no other assignment but to attach or latch itself to the silver or iron in order to make it non useful. 

The Bible says, "take away the dross..." but I guess we also need to inquire as to why we are commanded to take that step. Part B of that same verse gives us our answer. It says, "and there shall come forth a vessel for the silver..." Read that in another version. 

"Remove the impurities from silver, and the sterling will be ready for the silversmith."

The dross here are the impurities. The truth is that unless dross is first taken away, a silversmith/blacksmith cannot have a silver or iron to work with. First of all, those unwanted ingredients must be taken away through refining and deep heating. It is during that process that the dross is separated from the silver - the left over material that can now be fashioned into anything. 

It is until then the craftsman can bend or make a craft out of it. Why? It'll be malleable and ready to be shaped by then without breaking. That's because it has been earlier divorced of all things that could break it or affect its smoothness or quality. 

I think you also need to cry to God that impurities will be eliminated from your life. You have treasures and those are the vessel or silver that'll be left after the refining process. However, the dross must be taken away if that shiny, quality product will be availed the Silversmith for only what He could do. 

Are you there seeing the impurities in your life already? Ask God to come and clear them off. May God's refiner fire help refine us into the set of men and women that God can use. Without removal of the dross, we cannot become anything in the hands of the Silversmith. We cannot be characteristically deformed, manifesting the works of the flesh and believe we can be effective as Christ's representatives. Never! I pray that you will heed God's demands and trainings in life tailored made to filter dross out of your life.

PRAYER: Father, You're committed to making me a man/woman of sterling character, may I be humble enough to receive and manifest Your input.
