PREPPING FOR THE EXODUS!

Psalms 105:25, KJV

"He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants."

You're in God's hands. That's what I want you to know and believe. You must always see the larger picture and know that irrespective of what happens to you, God can take the steering wheel and make it work for your good. 

Romans 8:28, KJV

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

Little did we know that God in His sovereignty had to initiate the circumstance that'll lead to the slavery and eventual exodus of Israel from Egypt. We all know how Israel comes to stay in Egypt. As a matter of fact, Egypt became home. They were comfortable and at ease. I'm also so sure that none of them was praying for the promised land any longer. Why the promised land since they're comfy at the present? Why the promised land since all their needs are met? Their gazes and hearts could have wandered off from God's promise and that to a very good extent is correct. 

To begin the process of bringing Israel into the destiny and covenant purposes He had promised to their fathers, God began to work in their circumstances. One of His first acts was to turn the hearts of the Egyptians against them, causing them to hate His people and deal subtly with them. Even that was God's instrument of making them realize their need for a saviour and the promised land God had afore promised to their fathers. However, how many of us will believe that? To us, God couldn't have done something like that. However, God is more committed to your destiny and your journey than your comfort. He knows when to set you out on a journey after you might have rested and might have been comforted. 

And there is a beautiful progression when you put Acts 7:17 and Psalm 105:24–25 together. The time of promise drew near, Israel multiplied greatly, God turned the Egyptians' hearts against them, oppression followed, God raised Moses and Israel was brought out. So, what initially looked like an attack against Israel was actually occurring within God's movement toward the fulfillment of His promise.

Somebody like Joseph knows that God will not repent of His promise to their fathers. At his death, he still reminded all of that generation that God will visit them and that even his bones should not be left behind. 

"God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence" (Genesis 50:25, KJV). 

Hebrews 11:22 puts it in a way that I like. It says, "by faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones."

You see, it was by faith - believing that it will happen as God had promised. Though the promise didn't happen to the patriarchs and he also didn't live to see it fulfill literally in his days; however, he was sure that it would happen. So, he gave commandments on how his bones should be treated. This is a man living in the consciousness of prophecy, God's covenant and promise to them. Are you? Even if the Lord tarries, do you still know that He will come? Can you because you know He will come begin to give commandments to people without having seen the sky become cloudy or give a sure sign?

That's a man who will be dead by then speaking. Though he wouldn't be able to see those days of the exodus as in face to face, yet he begged and longed that his remains would be taken to the land God had promised. What else reveals his deep longing to see the exodus and the promised land than this? How I pray that you will see and cherish God's promises coming to pass in your life? How I pray that you'll not become anything now that'll make you comfortable from going forward in God's will. 

When God is at work, may you not mistakenly call it Satan. May you be quiet in your heart to recognize God's workings especially when He's calling or spurring you to move on. You might have found settlement and an abode but if your promised land is still far off, God will set you on track. He will influence situations and people towards fulfilling His own sole purpose. 

I pray that such spurring and stirring of your water is happening now. The next phase of your life towards fulfilling God's promise is happening now. So shall it be. 

PRAYER: Let the next phase open. Stir the water and set me on motion.
