AND HATH DETERMINED THE BOUNDS OF THEIR HABITATION - Wherever You Are Series 003

Acts 17:26, KJV

"And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation..."

In this series, I already said God is wise. Look at the wisdom he showed here again. He made the earth of one blood and brought them to earth at their appointed times set for them. More importantly however, he determined the bounds of their habitation. He distributed men around and curtailed their violating each other through unnecessary placement. 

You know it's like having an overcrowded forest of plants. That will automatically kill some. However, God determined the bounds of our individuals. How far we will go and how farther we can go. 

Do you really know what that means? Take the sea for instance and an island nation that the sea surrounds. If there was no boundary set for nature, it would transgress and destroy that island.

The earth (the solid part of the earth we live in) is just like that. The earth itself is founded and established on the seas.

Psalms 24:2, KJV

"For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods."

To establish something upon the floods (moving current) takes ingenuity and that's where all engineers began deriving their wisdom from in construction of bridges and houses on water. God is an engineer and their forerunner. 

That place says, "he hath determined their bounds." For short, "bounds" talks of boundaries. We humans set boundaries also. When we do, we eventually have borders that another nationality must not transgress into except they've done their paper work and have authorized permission to travel into them.

The allowing of boundaries preserves life and properties and helps people live peacefully without stressing all available resources in that environment. 

This is how God ensures the continuity of all human beings. No invasion or attack from overwhelmingly consuming beings or a foreign power except God allows it to erase one and have another take their inherited land. We know this happened to the Canaanites who the Lord cast out to give their lands to the Israelites. 

The idea of boundaries here talks of limits, territories and places. Take for instance, we have seven continents. Each of these continents holds nations except for Antarctica. Each of these nations have their boundaries which contain people different from another and filled with their uniqueness. While some live in the coldest regions like Yakutsk and Siberia, others live in the Danakil Depression and Death Valley which is very hot and arid. Yet, they call it home irrespective of its uniqueness and extremity of weather. That tells you God determines where people and nations exist. God once told Abraham that his downlines would be enslaved in a foreign land and that eventually happened for a period of time. 

"Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own... They will be enslaved and mistreated four hundred years" (Genesis 15:13).

When it was time, God took them out and set another boundaries for them - Canaan. While God establishes that Egypt would occupy the Nile region, He organizes that Israel would occupy Canaan. It's a kind of placement work done by the Lord like the setting of the teeth in place. Yes, this is a good example of God's sovereignty over the history and location of nations and the roles that he allows human interference and involvement to play.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for my location. You have given me a land and you have given it to me. Worship the God who oversees the rise and falls of nations.
