Happy New Month!!!
THE TIME WAS JUST RIGHT! - For The Sake Of A Room Series 001
"In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea."
We don't like to be left in the dark. We all want to know. For this reason, some divine or search out the secret things of God. On occasions when we don't know or are left in the dark, we seek explanation over things we need answers to from those we think should know. Indeed, God has given to the human heart to demystify mysteries. Until we get an explanation, we're like a thirsty ground crying for waters.
This verse is a verse that has a puzzle in it to solve. It is a boom verse. A verse that just occurred like that and stares us in the faces. It never prepared us or let us into details about the fellow he's talking about. Listen to how it presents itself.
Matthew 3:1, KJV
"In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea."
If I were to ask you how John the Baptist began his ministry, what would you say? You'll probably be short of words and a verse like this doesn't help us either. It only says, "in those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judea." No background information was given us. So, you can't reverse to gather anything.
Simply, all other information before then weren't given us. Meanwhile, one thing is sure, no man can receive anything except it be given to him from above (John 3:27). This John the Baptist that now comes and preaches around wouldn't have been favoured if God has not shifted space of manifestation for him. If God hadn't called it his time, he couldn't have come out let alone be successful with preaching or beginning a ministry.
What I sensed from reading that verse is that God called that time John the Baptist came his time. Heaven had to open for him so that his ministry could commence. We might not have seen or read anywhere in the Bible where heaven was said to have opened for him literally, but I meant that God opened a window of allowance for him to start what He had called him to do.
"And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel."
Mark the usage of the clause, "till the day of his shewing unto Israel." That talks of time and a Kairos time. It means God sovereign had attached a time to the manifestation of John the Baptist. Until then, he didn't come preaching. He couldn't have. Why? The time wouldn't have been right for him. He would have been gagged and executed by the time that he had trespassed into that God didn't call his. If he tried preaching, he wouldn't have been successful. Time can make someone right and prove the other wrong!
This summarily tells us that nobody just appears. It must have been their time of appearance if they didn't violate God's will. God has a way of keeping any voice He'll use in the wilderness (for shaping and refining) until the day of his showing forth. Once that day nears or comes, it's the will of God that nothing will be able to hold them back. Rather, they'll manifest. So, the only explanation we could give to John's appearance of preaching suddenly and powerfully without any hints on background information is that his 'show time' has come. God had allowed him to manifest or flower!
Until God shows you to your world, trying is but in vain. If you trespass into time that are not yours or given to you, you'll suffer consequences. May we be humble to grow, wax strong in the spirit and stay in training (maintaining our separation and consecration) unto the day when it'll please Him to draw the curtain away and introduce us to the waiting people.
This is the Lord's doing, not any man's!
PRAYER: Lord, I wait my turn. I receive an awareness of my fullness of time.
