TRAIN A CHILD IN THE WAY HE SHOULD GO - Vow Series 007
Proverbs 22:6, KJV
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
May you not misconceive the Bible. Some believe we humans are victims here on earth and we have no say in the universal things neither do we have anything as responsibility that God may regard. God said, "train up a child in the way he should go." Who's to train? The parents! It means God is giving the training of a child he released on earth to parents for the overall benefit of Himself. It also means you have the wherewithal, capacity, knowledge bank and all empowerment to make this child go in the way he should go. The idea is, since you were once trained in the way you should go, it will not be alien training your issues in the way they should go. God relies on this chain to continue in order to produce a God-like community on earth.
You, your responsibility is to find out the way, path, field, course , mandate or calling that child should be immersed into. God is now saying if I call him to be an astronaut, bring the attention of a parent who has vowed that the boy would become an astronaut to it. How would they strive to make him an astronaut because they want to fulfill their vow? In all ways, they'll go full length like Hannah did by separating Samuel to that life. It is by giving him such education that would groom him for that life.
Look, God has handed over, committed to and transferred to parents the sole work and responsibility of raising children in a way that has already being revealed, tested to be whole and proven to be benefiting which is in the Bible or that the Holy Spirit might inspire. This includes character formation and gift development of your children. Your child can be a soldier and still be clothed in meekness. He can be a politician and yet be a prophet with outworking of the word of knowledge and wisdom. Mind you, any way of life, path of life that the Holy Spirit would inspire to ordain for your children of vow would never be contradictory to the written and the revealed desire of God as mandate over every child that would one day grow up into a wholesome adult. God may tell you this child would be a hacker. Train him in the way of one but don't mistaken or think the Spirit was saying, make him a black hacker. The Holy Spirit won't breathe, inspire a training, way of life that's opposite God or that would do truth and all God stands for damage.
So, I want you see your sacred calling and that parenting is actually helping God to achieve a purpose on earth. You should ask yourself. That instruction, "train a child in the way he should go and when he's old, he'll not depart from it", from whom did it come to us? It might have been uttered by a human but it was by God's inspiration through which the Bible was authored. So, it was God instructing and sending all those who are parents or would be parents an errand they should deliver. So, find the way and set the face of that child towards that way. You'll see that part B of that verse can't but be fulfilled. Fill them, harness them, set the pace for them and they'll stay there for eternity.
PRAYER: I raise my hand to make a solemn promise of giving the attention of having vowed my child away to train him/her. God help my resolution.
