SALVATION FROM ALL PLOTS
READ Genesis 44, 45:1-5
Genesis 44:1-2, KJV
"1 And he commanded the steward of his house, saying, Fill the men's sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put every man's money in his sack's mouth.2 And put my cup, the silver cup, in the sack's mouth of the youngest, and his corn money. And he did according to the word that Joseph had spoken".
Joseph demanded of Israel's sons in their previous journey to buy grain not to come back again except they bring Benjamin. At the release of Benjamin and at the sighting of him by Joseph, Joseph's bowel was moved and he hastened to weep somewhere [Gen.43:29-30]. Blood is connection and it's very powerful. The maternal chord that binds both together reveals its potency here. This is how we should yearn for our brethren in Christ especially. If Joseph gave five time messes to Benjamin because he was his mother's son, should we be slow to hearken to the command that says "We should do good especially to those of the household of faith" [Gal.6:10]?
At their departure back to Canaan, Joseph instructed his servant to fill their sacks with grain like afore time, restore their money like afore time but this time put his silver cup in Benjamin's sack. Afterwards, Joseph sent a troop after Israel's sons accusing them of robbery of a cherished cup he drinks from and which he hypocritically divines from also. Joseph's servant won't stop talking and saying to Israel's sons, "Why have you rewarded evil for good? Is this not the cup in which my master drinks and divines from also?" To the shock of Israel's sons, they wondered how they've suddenly grown unfaithful since they disclosed matters concerning the previous money left at their sacks' mouths. Without knowing it was a plot, one who was bold and having clear conscience said, "With whomsoever of thy servants it be found, both let him die, and we also will be my lord's bondmen" [Gen.44:9].
At the search indeed, the cup was found with Benjamin. This is how they were successfully swallowed by Joseph's plot to collect or detain Benjamin for himself. Nowadays, plot may be propelled against another because of envy, favour he wins, competition or even as a revenge etc. Many who have been victims of plots today were never believed by society to be innocent as they laudable proclaimed. Only God knows how many have died by State power through plots. The prison yards across nations of the world are filled with victims of plot just like we have numerous testimonies of those who escape plots. Joseph himself went to jail due to plot but he emerged a survivor instead of a victim he should have been forever made.
This year as you go, it is my prayer that God will make you see what the devil is plotting against you even when it is hidden and you're not brought into the counsel of such men He has found as useful tools to plot against you. In this year, I also pray that God will give you the heart that considers twice and won't rush to resolution like one of Israel's sons did. He had said, whomsoever the cup is found with should be killed while others taken as slaves. He therefore sentenced himself and others to judgement.
Plots are real and that's why the Bible speaks like this of the bringing to naughtiness of the plotter's plot. "12 He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise. 13 He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong. 14 They meet with darkness in the day time, and grope in the noonday as in the night" [Job 5:12-14]. Today and henceforth, I proclaim that these verses find fulfilment in your life. Others might have been victims of plots at work, amidst friends or even at church etc but once it concerns you, a frustration and revealing of their plot shall happen. So, he who digs the pit shall fall therein and he that cleaves the wood shall be injured by it. I declare long life and God's salvation upon you this year.
PRAYER: Save my feet from the snare of the fowler. May my Salvation deliver me from all eyes that watches my steps for evil.
