AN ENCOURAGEMENT TO GO UP AT ONCE - NOW SERIES 011

Numbers 13:30, KJV

"And Caleb still the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it."

What did Caleb see differently from others? Why will he be saying, "let us go up at once and possess it?" In essence, he was also saying, let us go and take our profit. We've been allotted it, let's now go and practically make it ours. Don't forget Canaan has been promised them and repeatedly said to be theirs to possess by God. Their having heard this over and over should have produced a strong faith in them. Yet, others were seeing contrarily. God, in the midst of those who won't still recognize what their opportunity is, give me eyes to see what I should even not exercise fear or doubt over but rather go over at once to possess. What does that language, "going over at once" means? It means without further consideration. Without any examination. Without further thought of the matter whether it's an opportunity or entrapment. "Going up at once" means charging, leaving what is at hand and reaching immediately for this one on which you've been instructed. Does Caleb look like someone in doubt from what you read there? Did you not see how he silenced everyone and issued out a command as if he was Moses, their high leader. When you have seen rightly and have known correctly, your behaviour will deviate from that of the great congregation. Caleb knew one thing that others didn't.

Let's settle for ourselves if Caleb will advise they go up at once or that immediately if Canaan will be danger to them? That's where his assurance also came from. He saw their opportunity as opportunity. To others, their opportunity masqueraded as a threat. What's the threat? The giants in the land. Report said the Israelites look like grasshoppers.

Numbers13:33, KJV

"And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight."

That there's a little hindrance between you and your opportunity doesn't eliminate it from still being your opportunity. God had spoken that Canaan is their inheritance [Numbers 13:2]. This may be one of the reasons for the firmness of Caleb and believing of Joshua. What does God describe that target to you as is what matters. If the target is revealed to you as your opportunity, make a move and worry less of the giants. Giants are not gigantic when God calls them your prey?

Has He not said, "to you and your seed will I give Canaan? [Genesis 12:7].

PRAYER: Remind me of your promises when I'm doubtful of possessing.
