TO THE END THAT PEOPLE MIGHT BELIEVE

John 1:7, KJV

"The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe."

The work of a witness is to testify of something or somebody. John isn't the true light but he bears witness to that true light. All Christians have a call to be witnesses of our Lord Jesus Christ even to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8).

We're to testify of Him and preach the gospel. God's intention is that through us others might believe. That's why it's impossible for people to hear or believe in the gospel without a preacher of the good news.

Romans 10:14, KJV  

"How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?"

So, it's a privilege being a witness actually! John bears witness of Jesus. John didn't come to speak of Himself. He came to do Jesus honour by pointing people's attention to Him, His worth and His ministry. There is a kind of estimation that John gave to Jesus' ministry that made people cut off from John to be with Jesus. When John started witnessing and speaking in admiration of Jesus and His ministry, people left his (John's) ministry to join Jesus'. 

John 1:36-37,KJV

"36And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!  37 And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus."

John witnessed of the true Light. He didn't turn the flashlight on himself. Ahead of time, he had told the truth without denying it that  "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:" (Matthew 3:11,KJV).

He told them "there is One amidst you whom you know not." That One amidst them is Jesus Christ who has the better ministry of fire and Holy Ghost baptism. You will agree with me that the witnessing of John led some people into believing in Jesus and His ministry.

So also, we're to witness. The witnessing I'm talking about is not only preaching the gospel but rather liking and giving good comments to what somebody has said or has written. Let's assume you hear a minister's sermon and you were blessed but didn't keep it to yourself but rather witness the things in that sermon to someone and tell people from whom you've heard such things that are powerful; do you know you've done something? Somebody could become a member of that denomination or ministry just like that. When you speak of the miracles, signs and wonders you saw; you'll be working on people's hearts to create interest in that minister whom God is using. Witnessing is what gives anyone disciples. A man that's ill spoken off cannot have disciples. A product ill spoken off can't have users. A dirty reputation won't gain followers. You will see that throughout that chapter that chronicles John's witnessing, he elevates and speaks of Jesus in high and respectful words. He agrees He is the better one with the ultimate power.

It's like reading a writeup online and liking it and commenting. Comments like "I'm blessed; indeed, this is teaching" etc will quickly draw men to wanting to read that same writeup. There will be curiosity to tap into what has blessed some people. However, that writeup might have been bypassed if it had not been liked or good witnessing made about it. Now that some people have witnessed of it, it seems to be more genuine, powerful and one that people can relate with or trust. They'll want to believe in the testimony of two or three. Is that not how you witness and make people join your network business and patronize you? Your intention was to speak about that system until some people believe in that risk.

Don't withhold your likes, good comments because they will all be witnessing and when it does, you will draw men to believe. Now, imagine if somebody gets blessed through your witnessing about a church, ministry, minister or sermon that you call powerful. Don't you think you'll have a reward for bringing a member either to the kingdom or to what God is doing. 

Through John's witnessing, all men believed. May you also be a witness of good things so that through you people might believe. The intention of witnessing is to the end that people might believe. So, be a witness of good things. 

PRAYER: Lord, teach me to be a witness of good things that through me all men might believe in Jesus Christ and what you're doing on earth.

THE MAN THAT CAN SAY, "I WILL NOURISH YOU"

Genesis 50:21, KJV

"Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them."

You must know that there will be a time in everyone's life where he or she is fulfilling "when they were but a few men in number and while they move from one nation to another, He suffers no man to touch them [Psalm 105:12-14]. Such time is a period of smallness. It is very much associated with childishness and inability to even rebuke ills for oneself. It is a blessing finding God to persuade and rebuke men on one's behalf however at this time. At that time, a man or woman has not been made. He may not have what it takes to nourish another. It is still his period of gathering when he fights to amount. 

Joseph said to his brethren, "I will nourish you." That won't be the first time he'll be saying same. He had said it to his brothers when they first discovered him. When Joseph said he'll nourish them, he was speaking of nourishing over sixty people or let's say seventy in total [Gen.46:26-27]. Money or resources in some people's hands isn't for fashion parade. It is to fulfill obligation. 

Joseph said "I'll nourish you" as if the whole earth was in his hands. Indeed, he was speaking of things he was assured of. How many people can speak in like manner, looking at all their family members and then say "I will nourish you." The question is, "has he nourished himself first of all?" That statement can never spree out of the mouth of he that's still trying to have bread spared for himself. The fellow who was assuring others he'll feed them was not one relying on the generosity of another. The resources is in his own hands and as it seems, he doesn't even needs Pharaoh's permission before spending it on his family. 

I want you to know that one of the blessings any man can experience is to have other people's bread given to him to keep and release upon request to them. It's a privilege. If you see someone in a family that God raises very high above others with an economic gap they can't easily near, God has chosen that man as a custodian of the wealth of others. 

My prayer is just that God will take all head of families to the height where they can say to their extended family, "I will nourish you and nothing will happen!" Some that are trying to be responsible by taking on the responsibility of a nourisher for now over their own nuclear families let alone extended family have the testimony of it not flowing. The responsibility of the responsible is burdensome. If it were possible, you'll even have loved to escape it but how can you shut your bowels of compassion at your own. That's worst than denying the faith. For this reason, you keep trudging on. 

When Joseph said, "I will nourish you", he was adding responsibility upon responsibility. He already had the work of feeding his nuclear family to discharge but when he took it upon himself in those words to feed the family of his father, Jacob, he had written a letter to a high level kind of job. Yet, you knew it was not difficult for him because he rules Egypt at this time. Grain was under his command. He had enough to eat and give away. The Bible told us afore the famine that Joseph had gathered grain until it couldn't be numbered again. So, there's abundance that can incapacitate responsibility at hand.  There's a height or a place to get to where each you won't see it as responsibility feeding multitude. If you don't know, it was a nation Joseph fed throughout those years of famine. How I pray that you and I will be hastened by the anointing that doesn't repent today to get here. I told someone that even if the government of a country is irresponsible, if every one that God has paved way for can take care of his family needs, the poverty and problems in the country will reduce. Who are those their family are looking up onto here? If I be called with a holy call, may you by grace mixing with favour grow to become a tree that the birds of the air can make houses on. May God accommodate many people under your branches. May comfort arise for your people from you. May it be that you'll be sent ahead of them to put in place for them as to be nourished. 

You see, those of you who have gotten early education in your families or are the first to have a breakthrough that's economic, that's the kind of job God is calling you to do. Joseph also was sent ahead of his people. His journey was accelerated in making it because of some people that must be preserved. Joseph knew the calling that was on him. You must know yours. An economic deliverer is a great deliverer also. It is not only Satan that kills. Hunger, poverty kills. With these prevalent in anyone's life, they'll even be weak and lacking in morale to fight the devil. No man tackles what is secondary when primary haunts him.

To all men especially on whom the call of being a nourisher rests on primarily, by the anointing, I say God is obligated to you today. What is not enough shall be topped. The call to nourish your family, extended and all that will be brought across you shall be effortlessly done. You won't see it as responsibility sponsoring many people at the same time. It won't be from pain, struggle or friction that's murmuring and complaining. The wherewithal shall be given you in Jesus name.

PRAYER: Take me to a place where I can assume responsibility for multitude. Give me the wealth to preserve people.

A TIME TO REMEMBER

Proverbs 12:1, KJV

“Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them.”

O children of men, may you remember when you should remember. Some remembrance may not be able to turn anything by the time it dawns on man. So, I’m not praying for you that you will have late remembrance. Late remembrance always comes after a loss and with sighs and mouthfuls of regrets. I’m praying that you will remember now: when God wants you remember and not when your life will have been spent and almost used on what doesn’t count.

You see, when a man remembers when he should remember, his soul is saved and his life is saved. Those two things don’t happen to everybody. Imagine a 62 year old man that is just giving his life to Christ and a 7 year old boy doing the same. That old man has a saved soul but the larger percentage of his life has been wasted in so many crooked things outside the will of God. He has done assignments that God didn’t commission and author he should do in life. Meanwhile, the young boy has both a saved soul and a saved life. He has years in front of himself that God can teach him what to do with it and how to live within it. If he hearkens to the whole counsel of God, he can’t be trapped in the things that wastes one’s time and makes mockery of one’s years. He will live a pruned life as if he were born naturally to live that because the word of the Lord and God’s fear will naturally be his caution. He could find out what the will of God for him is on earth and use his saved soul, renewed mind and regenerated spirit to do it. The years he has left to plough the earth and discharge God’s will to the maximum of his strength is still long. 

Compare that with the old man who only has a saved soul without much left to do. As a matter of fact, at sixty two, one has started losing interest in so many things with a lot of depreciation having sets in. One is thinking of retiring from active service with attention on grandchildren or some petty matters. Why get born again around such time when you can start your morning at 6:00am, why do you want to start yours at 12:00pm of the same day? Why not choose a time that will give you a handful of period to do and do what you will have to do. Why start operation in deficit with an unnecessary sense of urgency to catch up with time? Life in Jesus truly imposes restrictions on whosoever accepts Him; meanwhile, this boundary is what enhances a life without confusion and crookedness. You can’t embrace those restrictions and be the kind that will die untimely. Why? Your restrictions will have curtailed misbehaviours that can open you to early death and lot more of packages with which the devil gifts those he finds outside God’s drawn line. 

More so, look at what the best of men have turned into. The fate of man seems not different from that of animals at the sight of this world pandemic. Is that not another cause to remember that God is worthy of your being contacted and seriously known at this time? Everything is ticking and racing towards eternity and a time that the silver cord of time will break giving way to everlasting to everlasting.  This is a time to remember. It is a privilege God is giving to you to repent and meet the sweet Saviour of your soul. He died to see you saved. He has waited long enough. Let today be the end of His waiting for you. A time like this may not freely come your way even if you seek it with tears and utmost desire next time especially if the curtain of time has been drawn. An opportunity at your front now without price is worthy and can save you from eternal agony in a place that inconvenience any who enters there.

PRAYER: The God of time and eternity: who planted eternity deep down in me that nothing else can satisfy but You, hint me of what time is it that I have entered into with a heeding of such time’s call. May I understand times walking circumspectly.

THOSE WHO WILL HAVE WORDS TO SHARE

Numbers 23:3, KJV

"And Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go: peradventure the LORD will come to meet me: and whatsoever he sheweth me I will tell thee. And he went to an high place."

Those who will have words to share are those the Lord meets. Unless this Presence meets you, you will come back like you've gone.

Balaam acknowledges the place of God meeting man. When we go to pray while hoping for a response of peace, the answer or conclusion is not in our custody to give. That's why we have gone to wait in the first instance. It is the Lord's to give or withdraw. Have you gone to pray for a thing to turn to A while it turns to B before? In the case of Balak, he wanted Israel to be cursed but God didn't give him that desire. At times, God agrees with our expectations also.

Let's assume you're praying to God on the choice of a marriage partner and you climb up in prayer expecting God to meet you. God may not quickly or at the first time appear. Often, people that receive answers over some things didn't receive it just at first bend of knees. There were moments they climbed up but God was silent. It was total black out. No voice, no sound. There were moments when they prayed with zeal and inspiration and believes God can't but hearken to such prayer but nothing still comes.

One thing that's left to God to give is reply. We can pray but none of us can put words in God's mouth. He will reply or keep shut. He even replies at the time He wills. That's why tarrying in the place of prayer matters. Is it not "the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings to search out a matter?" (Proverbs  25:2 , KJV).

What am I saying? When you pray and God didn't meet with you on the first day or first time of prayer, don't gasp down. Go ahead because He will surely show up. God may tarry but He will surely speak. So, keep watching on your tower. One thing that we don't have in our jurisdiction are the words which is why we come up to know. Except He speaks, we don't have words or assurance over what we've mounted up to pray on. You can fabricate a lie and say that's what the Lord has said but you will know deep down it is from your self. 

Balaam said he will go and he will come back to show Balak whatsoever the Lord says if He meets him. That means God may not even show up. It is still peradventure. God may show up or may not. Showing up is where our joy lies. That's our expectation because we need an immediate reply but what if God doesn't show up and is quiet like the dawn? 

Is it the first time you start praying on all the things you receive answers on that the Lord gives quick and immediate response? No right? That's what makes God God and humans humans. Because we don't have answers with us ready- made and answers are not always given us at once, that's why we keep coming to God. Those divine words are precious and we don't want any area of our lives to be left in the dark. The need to know drives us to God as we hope we'll know. Today, as you mount up in prayer, trust the Lord to meet you and show you great things which you know not. No one has words to give out or share as revelation except the one God has met. If God didn't meet you, you can't serve as a mouthpiece to those who wait for a response of peace. It is what any prophet hears he says. What would he say if God keeps him in the dark? May God have mercy on all of us and meet us in our places of prayers daily. May you on what you're seeking God for return with an answer of peace. May the table turn in your favour. May it be as you desire and have thought it to be.

PRAYER: Lord, I am your son/daughter. Witness to my heart. Speak to me. Let the Holy Ghost's ministry of the rod and staff bring ministry to me. May I not be without voice or sound at the place of prayer.

ATTACKING THE POINT OF WEAKNESS

READ Acts 3:1-8

Acts 3:7, KJV

"And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength."

If you want to fill up a hole, where do you pour sand into? Inside the hole where there's a gulf or around it? There is a place that needs ministration also. Just like we take tablets for healing of whatsoever is sick in us (to attack a specific thing), so do the anointing do travel to places that needs it when ministration or administration of it is done. 

In today's passage, a man lame from birth is ministered to by Peter in the company of John. Peter had said this:

Acts 3:6, KJV

"Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk."

At this proclamation, this fellow still did not walk until Peter held him up. Then, where the problem was located receives a donation of strength. His feet and ankle bones were enabled. Picture the anointing as if it was a drip or a liquid passing through the veins of that man when he had hand to hand contact with Peter. You may not know but the anointing entered and travelled down to his feet to locate the problem. When it got there, it fought that lameness, overthrew it and then enforce its own will by strengthening those same deactivated muscles and bones.

A lame is lame because he couldn't use his feet and majorly because some muscles, bones e.t.c. couldn't coordinate and function as they should. Ankle speaks of a joint but a joint that's not together. Until the anointing (in form of strength) went to these areas, the man couldn't stand up nor help himself. That's his point of weakness. A place where the anointing is needed. Anyone who desires to do a thing by himself but naturally can't do it requires a strength or external help to get it done. That man desires to walk but can't until an ability strengthened him to.

One day, I was on the field where an evangelist preached and many were healed. A lame on a wheel chair that many of us wanted to walk couldn't walk because her feet and ankle bones couldn't receive strength. We did like Peter did to this one after the declaration of the man of God, yet nothing. We said, "try, you can stand up." I said those words myself and wanted her to stand up because she was nursing twins at that time. Yet, the muscles and bones were still feeble, soft, tender and disabled still. So, while others were standing up, leaping for joy, shouting and at that same instance were being paraded as they stammer in walking for testimony, she couldn't. That day, I learnt that it is not all that would be healed at once. God will touch those He will touch and He'll leave. Faith e.t.c. are also some factors. That's why I'm not discouraged when I minister and nobody gets healed or few only gets healed. God's presence is what matters. His presence also may be around but if He's still not willing, you can't fake miracles.

The anointing though a spiritual substance knows the way. It does travels. If a minister lays hands on a cancer patient now, if it is gastric cancer for instance, the anointing journeys down to the stomach to make amelioration. God is always on point. He doesn't beat round the bush. He doesn't waste resources but allocates them or sends it on special specific errands. Once it's released, it's always allocated to go to the very place where the problem lies. The very centre of the problem that a demon may be ruling over.

Is there any there with medical reports, sickness or disease in their bodies, consciously known by you or not, may that place receives an allocation of the anointing. May you experience wholeness, healing in that particular place. May you be set free in Jesus name. Those with feet, legs, ankles and sole problems, may the anointing soothes you there and recovers you.

PRAYER: I believe in You, the same yesterday, today and forever. Heal me of my sickness, disease (mention that specific one i.e leprosy or cancer).

WHAT IS OCCASIONAL IS CHERISHED

Read Daniel 5

John 5:4, KJV

"For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had."

Look, it was not that God intentionally made visitation scarce in John 5. If you read that place well, you'll see that there were so many invalids yet the visiting angel didn't come always. Like a visiting lecturer, he only comes once in a while. 

Why would God do that when He could see the multitude? I mean multitude carrying damages in their bodies and in their souls who needed to be pulled out and pulled up from it? Look at me dear saint who won't stop following. God likes it when you have estimation for His things. Don't get where you'll become so familiar with God as to bring out all sanctified and dedicated vessels or instruments of His house and begin to use them fulfill secular or undedicated purposes. He might as well kill you! That's why He sent a writing finger to bring one man to his own end. They had given him his opportunity to behave well but he misbehaved and what did they say of him? They said his kingdom has being numbered, he has been weighed and has been brought to an end. Those who sat in the heavenlies, the panel or council that took that decision just didn't judge in a hurry. They checked into his offence and saw he was guilty of being terminated and termination overrules him.

John 5 says that visiting angel, that bringer of joy only does at a season...a certain season. He always travels incognito. He doesn't reveal his identity neither tells people when to expect him. You can't predict this angel. You can't say, "I see a vision, he's appearing tomorrow." Wipe your eyes and sleep again. 

Why did God allow a seasonal visitation and stirring of the water? So that all may know who to await, look unto and expect. If healing can be found everywhere and all is granted you [and you're now a perfect human],  you may not see the need to keep looking to God.

Now, what happens since it's known by all those invalids that this angel travels once in a while? They wait with eagerness. This angel is the one reminding me of the coming of Christ again. Jesus won't say, I'm appearing tomorrow. All those who have set date in previous times failed and many more will still fail. The answer is of that time or season, no one knows.

Now, since this angel's visitation is scarce, come and see how people pay attention to make good use of his one in a while visitation. All of them knew their healing depends on that and that if they should miss this bus, they can't say when that angelic flight will come again. Even if it comes, who knows who will be sensitive and the most smart to easily press, key and dive into the pool. So, attention to details is key. All of them at this pool of Bethsaida were not men who slumbers but men of vigils. They do something day and night. They keep watch. They so much were at attention that in their sleep, some of them have seen apparitions that looked like an angel and had shouted into life, "angel" but only to fool others unintentionally and to their own dismay.

God wants you cherish it if He comes to you daily. Don't take it for granted. Don't let the Bible become newspaper to you. Don't let your heart grow gross and thick of it. Don't let prayer become just casting words to you. You must treat and esteem all as sacred for it is by then you can receive the utmost blessing of doing each. 

My father had told me the story of that once in awhile bus that visited some places in the early 60s in Nigeria. Once you miss that bus, you'll have to wait a good time until it comes back for travellers again. Imagine a bus showing up once in a month. Due to that, everybody would clear himself of anything that could hinder his not going with it at appearance to the city. They know missing it is a big consequence which must be avoided.

How many don't want to miss the second coming of Christ? If you do, it will take the hardest level of determination to save yourself with your blood. You must be ready: awake and aware because this angel only comes once in awhile. So, give it the needed respect, attention etc.

When your pastor stands in front of you next time, let estimation rise from inside you towards him. That's when his anointing can touch you. Treat him like a scarce commodity that's hard to see but whose best must be gotten once you finally have him in your front.

PRAYER: May I grow estimation for You Lord, the anointed and your things. Wherever I have taken your frequent moves and visitations for granted, kindly have mercy.

THE REJOICING AT STIRRING

John 5:4, KJV

"For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had."

Look, there will be perfect silence more than the one that obtains at the grave yard except the anointing shows up big time and strongly to plough through. If not, the same old story abides and there won't be new testimonies or witnesses to make headlines. 

Have you seen someone pour liquor or any other fuel into a burning fire before? What results? There's a new setting ablaze that can make you stagger back a little. That's what the anointing on all anointed does. It sets people ablaze. It calls forth different imaginable and unimaginable behaviours from them. When ministration of the Word is ongoing and people are being touched, their needs being met and secret intents of the heart being discerned and laid bare, you'll hear groaning, murmuring, abuses, sighs, thanksgiving etc. Some who might be too touched to hold it or can't naturally pedal it down because of their soul constitution may shout out, fall down at times with cries. Some may begin to dance, jump and mesmerize while others in the congregation wonder at what has befallen them.

At least, we know it is not evil but good! How I love this anointing that triggers, that calls forth activities, that activates and prepares people ready for their own activities and purposes in the calling. 

 In John 5, do you see any effort to reach the pool until its stirring? Not at all. But once it is observed and deduced that that visiting angel has done its work, you'll see invalids then rush to slap the pool. No rejoicing until the stirring has first of all being done. Until then, things are at a stand still like a long traffic jam where vehicles aren't moving. 

But stirring calls for rejoicing. The sight of the water being stirred energizes and increases adrenaline in each of these invalids to make a move towards the pool. Even if they've not been happy before but by the stirring (which only the anointing on an anointed can do as he speaks or teaches), they receive the enthusiasm to make effort. But until then, why make effort. Everybody just sits tight. Everybody just folds their arms. There's no reason to move since the whistle hasn't been blown. 

That angel is the herald of joy and rejoicing. How many of you went to schools where once the food vendor comes at lunch, a kind of horn would be sounded to notify you? What happens when such is done? You all rush towards her. She brings your joy, what you've been expecting, anticipating and dying to see. Without her appearance or his appearance, who gathers for nothing? 

That's how dependent those invalids were on that angel and bringer of joy. Unless its arrival is announced, there's no trying, standing up or hope of being healed.

I pray that anything that you're expecting to come so that your joy might be full that has delayed hitherto shall be released. Hindrances are being busted. The Prince of Persia hindered Gabriel but Michael arose for his freedom. Hindrances to every arrival of answers, deliveries of packages and quick hastening of replies, be removed in the name of Jesus Christ who was, who is and is to come. He changes not. Daniel saw the end of hindrances, you will today see yours.

PRAYER: Thank God that delay in delivering your joy or package has been removed. Pray for all anointed to be empowered afresh to stir.
