MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE - Olusola ADEJUMO

WHO MAKES US THE KEEPER OF VINEYARD?

Song of Solomon 1:6, KJV

"Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept".

That place reads, "my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept".

The first enquiry should be, "who makes the Christian a keeper of vineyards?" Who makes you a keeper over God's heritage? Who gives you a work to stand by and be a standby to some people? Who's He who raises some as deliverers for the oppressed? Who's he who calls some into the five fold offices? Who's he who gives gifts and callings to men? It's no one but God.

At creation, the body parts of Adam are located where we all have them today because God located them there. The eyes doesn't covet being where the mouth is and vice versa. Every one of them has its office and this is solely God's doing and setting. Each one of us are regarded as making up the body of Christ. As the body parts of Christ, who then fixes and allocates us into office? It is God. The Bible records that when He led captivity captive, He gave gifts unto men. He gave some to be Apostles, prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers (Eph.4:8,11). It is God who solely calls and sets people where they should be. What you should watch against is the error of having called yourself. I'm not talking about the call to ministry only. God has called people to different areas, worlds and professions of life. The one who has called one fellow to become an Economist is the one who has called the other to become a Prophet. Just like God knew Jeremiah and appointed him a prophet over the nations before birth, so the Lord appointed the Economist also.

It is this that should chide anyone away from setting or seeking to establish himself where God has not set him. Many people won't live their lives. The reason is because where God calls them to be is not where they have gone. Pressure or the desire to amass the things of this world might have dislocated and relocated some people to where though they have the riches, they'll lack the joy and fulfilment that renews one's bones. It is God who makes us keepers of vineyards of any field or area. If the Lord hasn't called you out to a field and allocated it to you as your vineyard to tend, it would be futile effort being there. That'll be nothing but displacement. That'll be nothing but dislocation. God has called for a nurse but she has gone to become a chef. Something can't but be missing and such people would find out on the way. My only prayer is that at discovery, you'll be humble and bold enough to acknowledge your mistake, turn back and enter into your original calling and mandate. Many people are always afraid of turning back though they know that's the right thing to do. It won't be easy but all of us know that if a pot leaks and we need to use it, what we first do is to mend it. Or else, wasted effort and work shall still abide.

You must therefore not promote yourself into any office or field God is not clearly calling you to. Don't go abroad to study if that calling is not on you. You must also be called to step out. I looked at some beloved who are making it there. They even found adopters and institutions that are funding them. That's because their eyes were tilted fully to travelling abroad and no one have a tilted face towards something which is not first a revelation from God to his inside. The path to take or go is clear to them and by dint of hardwork even amidst many disappointments, they're eventually making it there. It means it's what God has commanded and so help must answer them there. But, you can actually die if it's not your revelation to begone abroad.  Those who won't are those who the Lord will protect only. And as far as I know, God only has commitment to those He calls into an area or specialization. If you're not, you have no shield or defence. Though He calls you god (if you've gone into your field and office) but you shall die like one of the princes if you become an interloper and intruder into another's (Psalm 82:6-7). It is God who set Adam where he should till. God planted a garden Eastward of Eden and sovereignly places him there with instruction to till and tend it. I tell you, you will answer to the work you're doing which wasn't the Lord who ordains that you do and vice versa. Beware! It is God who makes us keepers of vineyards, fields and specializations. He calls us into that space and not being called attracts consequences. Go where you're called, feel called and assured being called.

PRAYER: Lord, I acknowledge you as He who makes one a keeper of vineyard and a head of fields. Call me into mine.

UNDERSTANDING THE TIMES

Ephesians 5:15-17, KJV

"15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,  16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is".

Yesterday, God addressed the issue of "fire in our bones" which as a burden can't be reined in for long but rather released to have expression. If you're gripped to the core of a vision or an intent and all hands seem to be on deck [in you] and calling you to that thing immediately immediately, it'll be better going after that thing right away. You must understand what the will of God is and that comes by rightful interpretation often. Joseph told Pharaoh that those dreams were doubled to him because the thing is established by God and God will bring it shortly to pass (Gen. 41:32).

The call of God can be postponed till a time until no further. That no further will be clear to you when the demand of God to have you repeatedly and incessantly knocks the door of your heart to come. Mind you however, the call or call as we've been looking at it is not only for those in ministry but men of all walks of life. God created the earth and humanity and so takes interest where each man goes for the sake of contributing their inborn graces and meeting needs. At creation, He has loaded each with gifts and all abilities meant to be used for a specialized vocation or field on earth if they'll discover that. Somebody with innate skills for mechanical operation may not be swayed or have his best interest in the academics. It is God who ought to call each of us and set us (as blocks) in the hands of a master bricklayer fittingly to a place in the entire building where we would be useful. Else, if your block is wrongly fitted, it could cause disaster as you'll not be where you're desired or you're needed. It should never be the cry of God again saying, "I seek a man that he may stand in the breech or gap" (Ezek.22:30). Every breech should have been filled by now by a man God has solely called to be a pilot, nurse, architect, doctor, sailor, teacher and even God's minister. People that God intends should be where they should be ought to be there now. This is not the time to fall casualty of another field that's not yours by calling or divine ordination. Whenever God still cries or says, "He needs a man" in any quarters, it means He has not found a representative and a man to take responsibility for Him there. That's because he who should study Medicine has gone to become a Footballer and so there's a breech, a gap, a missing link or space that needs to be filled or covered for. I know that verse points directly at intercession, interception and standing in the gap as God would have it. But standing in gap also means standing at a post. Many people are not at their posts at all. That's the cause for the wandering and repetitive asking of God for a man still.

Brethren, today's devotional title is understanding the times. You read of Idahosa's and my testimony in yesterday's devotional. You saw how we couldn't wait again, how we were seeking bodies and platforms for expression because of the burdens which had possessed and written itself all over us. Meanwhile, that burden is to an end. It's like a speedometer that's to an intent. It monitors and tells the driver his speed. That burden of "come now, it is now" or "I can't forbear, postpone or delay any longer" is actually from God. What that burden like a speedometer is trying to indicate is that it is time to give yourself away to the assignment of your destiny. There are people who have gone to colonize the wrong fields but who God is also calling out to occupy their preordained fields. It would be urgent and like fire burning in your bones which you can't hold or forbear any longer. When the time has come or when it's ripe for you to be harvested to face what you should face, only then could you feel such strong sense of responsibility, indebtedness to God and conviction to depart to it and heed [not wanting to disappoint your Maker]. You must therefore understand the times and seek not to delay any further. You must immediately give yourself away at that moment and let that demand of God on you be satiated and stayed by your obedience. You must allow the calling agitating for expression in you be fulfilled. If God ever makes incessant demand on anyone unlike the afore quietness of years past and he obeys, he'll sure see the workings of God. It means all things are made ready for him. It means as at the time of calling him, God has put things on ground for him and such wouldn't regret it. It will take a walk or journey of faith but whenever such looks round, he'll have the testimony of it being God all the way. But you must understand the time. Your interpretation of that incessant burden must be clear. Just there's a time to every purpose on earth, there's also a time to stay by one self or launch into the calling of God for one. I pray for you, you won't be confused, scattered or frustrated. You'll see right and you'll see straight in the name of Jesus! You'll walk in the path God is chatting in you. You'll have light to see that path on your inside.

PRAYER: Lord, help my interpretation of divine burdens. May I obey time when you call and not refrain. I have a special awareness of all the times and can read them.

THOSE SEEKING EXPRESSION

Luke 11:24, KJV

"When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out".

There are those seeking expression. It's a category of people. I pray for such set, may you find expression. May the burden in your heart, the expression that has filled your inside and the calling that's inditing you all come out in beautiful colours.

It's a blessing when you're not denied expression. Until then, there's a dissatisfaction and discomfort that you'll bear for having not found a place, platform or means of spewing out the burden written all over you. The truth is that you're the only one who feels the way you're feeling. You can describe your feeling to people probably they might see from your perspective and be instrumental in your finding expression. But often times, they just can't relate. They just can't understand.

I pray for you that when a burden is high in your soul so much more that it grips your entire being and its fibre, may God gives you an outlet of expression even in the gift of men that could be instrumental to that. If you're denied, you'll be like Jeremiah who experiences discomfort inside of him because he couldn't hold or endure the burden tarrying again in him. He confesses that God's word (unspoken and unexpressed) is like burning fire in his bones.

Jeremiah 20:9, KJV

"Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay".

So, he now wants to speak though he's been holding it down since. You know what that alludes to? It's causing him discomfort and putting him in unease. He's dissatisfied and unfulfilled that he has not spoken. Because it is therefore urgent, important and very hot that he speaks, he needs an outlet of expression. So, he can no longer forbear or withhold it. May you get here where you'll take permission of authority who has oversight over you to let you go. Benson Idahosa never completed his Bible School Education in Gordon Lindsay's Seminary. When the burden for Africa was driving him strongly, he requested to leave and so they had to organize a private consecration service for him. That's because his appointed time has come. We're all witnesses to how much he was used by God.

One time and over a period that lasted more than a year, I kept sending messages and speaking with those I believed could be aids to my having an outlet. That time, I sent an elder a text message. I told him that I can't wait any longer and that I wanted to start a church. I told him, I needed a body to indwell, a house to occupy and express myself through. This same message or content alike was sent to two elders (fathers of faith) and two friends or colleagues in the journey of faith so that all hands might be on deck and so that I might bring forth my burden (pregnancy).

The truth is this, where God wants you to be and what He wants you to do above others will appeal to you the most and when the time for it nears or has neared, it would grip you and become the most consistent and incessant thing coming to your mind. I don't know whether anyone doubted my starting a church but I know that if any did, they would have doubted likewise if I had told them I wanted to start a ministry in 2016 (though I've been in ministry and calling before then). When I started ministry, I did only at God's instruction. I didn't even confer or consult with anyone. I just followed the prompting that came persistently. Today, Morning Wings Ministry has touched nations. The devotional has gone to places I have not even been. These are results that we couldn't have unless we commence first of all.

As I was saying, why did I tell those people to begin to help me scout for a considerable venue that we could occupy and kick-start a church from? It's because a burden was driving that act in me. Something was calling me out to the more gracious and anointed things God wanted me to take. So, I was not comfortable at that moment. If I turned here in prayer, thought or study, what faced me was on starting a church and doing so then! I was so surrounded that I had to send those messages repeatedly to them to be on the watch for me and so that they might confirm some things for me. I was seeking a body, a house and a platform not for vain glory but because it was a call coming from a burden that stems from my calling. God wants to reveal what's next and so I was moving in that same direction. Look at me, God will soak you up with the thought of what's next. Just be obedient, risk it and follow the prompt. As long as you can prove He who has spoken to you, you'll have a level of confidence to start. As long as you can witness that those thoughts are not self originating thoughts from you but the Holy Spirit, it'll work. The passage for today talks of demons seeking rest after going through dry places. It's not only demons who seek rest. The human spirit does as well. And as far as God is concerned, your real you is your spirit. So, if your spirit is gasping for the fulfilment of your calling, the thoughts that may beset your own mind may be getting a scholarship and funding to study abroad. It would appeal to you so well that you would give diligence in that aspect. What next to do would just appear to you and even though the road is rigorous or its difficult to secure one, you wouldn't see it as an impossibility until you by attention secure one. Many there be gasping for fulfilment, asking for satiation and seeking expression, may God gives you an outlet. Until then, even if the burden lifts for awhile, it'll come back beseiging and besetting your mind towards action. You'll lose your peace until you pursue that next call to seek a body or a platform for the expression of what you're seeing and perceiving. I pray for you, may you have an entry. May the door open unto you. May you find a place or a platform that would afford you the opportunity to do all that's in your mind as put there by God. No evil spirit could maneuver or sway any human critically unless he inhabits him first of all. That's why demons always seek the human body to occupy. That gives them their highest fulfilment. A man who's demonically inhabited and ruled will destroy much good and could be turned here and there easily by that evil spirit. That's why they don't stop until they have gotten a human host. Their acts of wickedness is revealed maximally through their hosts. They so much desire a house that they can take time to go back to see if there's still space in their former house from which they were dispelled. I pray for you, you'll be given an outlet for expression. Demons seek houses for their expressions of wickedness without which they're curtailed in action. I pray for you that those divine burdens won't perish in/with you. It won't dissipate and evaporate to nothingness inside you. A body, platform or  means of dispensing it all shall be availed you.

PRAYER: Meet my heart cry. Open me a door, offer me an entry, give me a body and opportunity to express the burden in me. I know what's next practically and I do it.

MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE - Olusola ADEJUMO

AS SOON AS WE HAVE MADE ARRIVAL

Ecclesiastes 1:4, KJV

"One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever".

You really need to have a heart of wisdom. Not because of any other thing but the words written above. One generation passes away and another generation comes. It means you won't always be here. The generation that'll pass will be the one that currently occupies the earth. We call them the living. You may be happy you're part of the living and on a planet where acts could be lived out. The essence is not to be happy and roam around but rather engage that mist opportunity of being here now. The generation that comes are the unborn. Once you are a living spirit on the earth, the question you should be asking yourself is when you'll go back. You're not part of the spirits just coming (with maximum time at hand) but part of the spirits seeking to return one day. On this note, we ought cultivate a heart of wisdom and make this our one life count.

People are produced in batches and they as well leave in batches. We all have our generation. We always come and go enmasse. It is always "one generation comes" and another "generation goes". Reading that chapter further tells us somethings about the natural elements and how it fulfill the years of those on earth, thereby culminating in their eventual departure off the earth. The sun first of all.

Ecclesiastes 1:5, KJV

"The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose".

Did you read that? The sun rising is a typology of a man being born. At birth, you're just rising. You still have much of the natural years ahead you to spend. But as the sun arises, it does what? It hastens to where it comes. As a matter of fact, the intent of the sun is to go back to where it comes from. Don't be deceived by the little hours it takes out to shine and get accolades. Its face is set towards its passageway and that describes our journey. Naturally, it's the dawning and closing of the day that fulfills our years on earth. As one day breaks and closes, we age whether we like it or not and one day, we might find out that returning is near. What you must observe is that the only period you have for righteous/purposeful activity is the time within when you rose and the time you'll set! The sun always rises and sets. The sun's only shining time is the moment between the time frames when it rises and when it sets. That's why one generation comes and another generation goes. The circuit keeps going.

The second natural element with which to understand the ephemeralness of life on earth is the wind.

Ecclesiastes 1:6, KJV

"The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits".

You read the going of the wind to the South and its turning to the North. That exemplifies human life. How at arrival he dashes here and there on earth seeking to live its days. However, what happens after this going here and there, amassing the earth's goods, satiating the longing or purpose in one's heart? The wind is said to return again according to its circuit. That it has a circuit means there's a lined up plan or natural law that it can't break but fulfill. It must always follow. Its 2 + 2 equals 4 always. Just like the wind parades the atmosphere to the South and to the North and then whirls about continually for awhile (still enjoying life or breath if translated human), so are we left with only some time to engage life and answer the calling on us. Other than the time the wind goes to the South, turns to the North and then whirls about continually (moment of human existence) before it returns according to its circuit, there's no other time given to man for life activity. Your works after death have no rewards or consequences.

The Bible says David serves the will of God in his generation and then was buried with his fathers (Acts 13:36). No matter how much you desire to stay, you can't but return according to your circuit like the wind. God is re-emphasizing it to you, the only time you have is the one given your wind to whirl about before you return after your circuit. That been said, irrelevant living should be katergeo (cut off) from your life. You should only live for purpose. You should be single in focus and refuse to be shifted or diverted. If you've lived any years in sin and under Satan, you should let it suffice today. You should come to Christ, receive Him, find your purpose and live it even if yours is not to become a minister (called into the five fold offices).

Just like the sun that rises, shines for awhile and hastens to its place, so is man. Just like the wind that goes to the South, takes time out to turn to the North (fulfilling all its intention of creation) and whirling about for awhile (having fun or living its ordained life, trying to stay here and in a continuous act) but which finally fulfills its circuit, so is man. Man shall one day go to his long home (Eccl.12:5). Note the word "long". Observe the fact that the sun also hastens to set as soon as it rises up. Observe that the wind returns after its circuit as soon as it launches. Nothing is static. Everything is in a state of an intentionally programmed and continuous flux and instability. It is not built to last. Life on earth isn't everlasting. We shall pass and it'll be fulfilled that one generation goes and another comes but the earth abides forever. Since the earth shall be after us, we can leave our marks on it and also live to amass treasures where it utmostly matters (Matt.6:20).

PRAYER: Lord, I commit my life anew to my revealed purpose. [For unbelievers (Lord Jesus, I come as a sinner to receive Your forgiveness. Hallelujah, I'm born again!)]

MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE - Olusola ADEJUMO

BUT I'VE GIVEN HIM TO YOU

Numbers 21:33-34, KJV

"33 And they turned and went up by the way of Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan went out against them, he, and all his people, to the battle at Edrei. 34 And the LORD said unto Moses, Fear him not: for I have delivered him into thy hand, and all his people, and his land; and thou shalt do to him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon".

In the journey of the children of Israel to possessing Canaan, they come against many nations or tribes that resist them. One of them is Og, the King of Bashan. As soon as he sights them, he went to battle with them with all his people. Nothing is to be taken for granted and he's not sparing any of his potent weapon. He didn't make pact neither does he ask for negotiation. He rather comes with a boldness and belief of he who will vanguish Israel. Indeed, he might have been terrifying because God had to strengthen Moses not to be afraid of him.

The journey of the children of Israel is a portrayal of the Christian's journey to his or her Promised Land. God says his thoughts towards us are of good and not of evil, to give us a hope and a future (Jer. 29:11). If it be, then God is at work in us and for us to bring us unto a land and destination that in the true sense of it flows with milk and honey. However, we may encounter one challenge or the other. There may be roadblocks and mountains that we may need to surmount. It may even be an examination that must be passed, a habit that must be broken or cultivated to standard and with rigour etc. However, God with us gives us hope of victory.

You see, what I want to hear is that God is with me. When God is with you, what is against you becomes prey because He who is with you will be against it. Your battle therefore becomes His battle. God told Moses from the indices He has gathered of him and probably the congregation being afraid not to be afraid of Og because He has solely given him, his people and even his land into his hands. Don't you like that? Don't you like God tell you your greatest fear has been given to you in victory? Yet, before you go in for an attempt! When you walk with God and indeed have Him at your right hand side, you won't be shaken. Shaking can come but He will strengthen you for victory with His words. There's no time that assurance, reassurance and affirmation are important if not when there's a shaking and an uprooting is targeted at you by the devil. Moses is shaken but God allays his fear not to be afraid of Og, because He has given him into his hand already [I want that! Smiles].

The first problem all of us has is seeing by sight and not by faith. If we are this sense ruled, we'll be scared many times and confused. Moses must have seen something scary. He not only sees but believes in it as potent and superior enough. If you know your opponent can't even scratch you let alone harm you, you wouldn't develop a position of inferiority towards him but this is not the case with Moses. So, God had to say to him, "fear him not!" That's your first instruction - fear him not! It may be an exam that you've repeatedly failed or an attempt that looks scary. God is saying, "fear it not!" Not fearing always positions you for the absorbing and right mindedness of what next to do. Fear dispels faith and it'll go contagious affecting your team, family and leadership while toppling their high spirits. That reminds me of David's word. He says unto Saul and the congregation. "Let no man's heart fail because of him. Your servant will go and fight this Philistine" (I Sam. 17:32). You wouldn't have had such comment if people's hearts were not skipping for the sake of Goliath. That he speaks even looks like a thunder to them. Everybody flees from him. But the first law is, "let no man's heart fail because of him". Are you afraid at how to feed or have sponsorship for a project? Are you afraid of safe delivery? One can fear until his heart fails, becomes hypertensive or have heart attack but the instruction is, "to put your mind at rest" because God fights your battle and is at hand for you. He's working things out for your sake. Just for your sake. He's finding a path for you. Just for you.

Then, God told Moses, "for I have delivered him into your hand". Shout hallelujah! This is how all the things you fear shall be given to you. When a thing is delivered into your hand, you exercise little effort in possessing it because you have it already. It rather comes to you like that. That thing itself might not understand how but it sure must submit to you just like that. Imagine, before the attempt, Moses had the assurance and went in the assurance. Look, this is why you're a son or daughter in the Father's house. A son is privy to what the Father does even before it is executed. Imagine that privileged information that Moses would subdue his fear. As mighty Og of Bashan and his people are or might have looked, God has given them up to Moses. Moses will have a mastery over them. They are his to take and that's because God is willing it so. Today, anything that threatens you, makes you feel insecure, inadequate and not enough are delivered to you. Your eyes shall open to your superior position and you shall wage a good warfare from such understanding. Look, you're a winner. Don't cower at life and its events. Go face it headlong with the words and assurance of faith. Before the battle, we already have the results and it's that you won!

PRAYER: Lord, give me a mind shift: from the position of fear to faith. Make my mountain strong and my victory shall follow suite. I have delivered to me all my fears and I squash them all.

MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE - Olusola ADEJUMO

THE POINT TO COME IN

Exodus 1:16, KJV

"And he said, when ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools, if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live".

Pharaoh is clear as to when the midwives should come in in murdering the male children of the Hebrew women. It is when they are on the birth stools. The next question could then be, "why when they are on the birth stools" or "the birth stools to what end". Pharaoh wants their children to be killed by stealth. What would be blamed on some other complications of birth. "When on the birth stool" also hints at their delivery and a time when the physical baby could be done any type of harm.

When a woman is on the birth stool, it is her time to push and deliver. At that time, she is giving all effort to ensure that her baby is birthed. So, while on the stool immediately brings you to the place of a dream or vision soon to be realized but which the dreamer is seeking body of manifestation for. Any human being who's on the birth stool is one who's near delivery and is seeking an outlet for the manifestation of his dreams or vision. While on the birth stool, a woman in anguish and labour cries and pushes to have birthed the baby. When you're also on the birth stool, you're just at the edge of delivering your dream. Things have worked for you until the time to publish that book, record that single, go for that higher education, found that system comes and becomes now! At this edge of delivery, may no spirit or human be appointed to frustrate your dream. Pharaoh is just full of wisdom. He knows when to target in ensuring the effort of those Hebrew mothers is in vain. He told the midwives, "when you see them on the stool". That is, when they're in labour and are ready to deliver. Just ensure at that point, you kill the baby as it's being delivered. In other words, you don't have to come in at any other time until then when all their efforts for those nine months or those years (of nursing their dreams) could be all wasted together. This is the spirit that terminates people's dream at just a step to success and celebration.

We have two options on us. To terminate people's dreams and frustrate their visions at the very edge of fulfilment and breakthrough or to bring in all our energy to help them find fulfilment at such times. What time is best for a midwife to give her help to a pregnant woman if not that very time when she's in labour and at the edge of delivery? That's when she needs assistance to deliver rightly but may it not be that it's when we see youths and adults who are at the edge of their breakthrough we'll organize restrictions and mobilize resources to hinder them. What would be your gain? What would you say was your profit? The fact that as somebody was giving all the attention to change levels you were the one Satan finds to pull him down? Would that be your testimony?

I pray for somebody there, every abortive spirit of dreams and visions that has found no other juncture and time to await you but at delivery time shall be terminated and hindered themselves in Jesus' name. Any power or system that seeks to carry your child as soon as its delivered shall be strangled in turn for you in Jesus' name. Rather, if you're there with the mind and energy to manifest and give birth to the dreams and visions with which you've been pregnant for years, the Lord will send you assistance right in time and at that same juncture of need when you need help (of good midwives) for delivery. The Bible says, "God is our very present help in trouble" (Psalm 46:1). It means at the bus stop where the Pharaoh spirit of destruction has fixed the destruction of your dreams, help shall locate you right away. It is this help that will carry you over and above whatsoever Satan might have planned to do through frustrators to your dreams and plans. Receive such testimony now in Jesus' name.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive your immediately immediately aid at the point of manifestation.

WHEN YOU SEE THEM ON THE BIRTH STOOLS

Exodus 1:16, KJV

"And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live".

Do you want to find yourself in a situation as a pregnant woman where you are on the birth stool but you know that death sentence awaits your child? No one will be happy with that. Not a mother. Not any mother! It is not easy to have borne for nine months a child and lose him. It is more unfortunate when it is not lost but someone (a trusted and entrusted hand who should assist in proper delivery) seeks him to kill. Such is the errand of death Pharaoh of Egypt gave to the midwives of the Hebrews. He told them, when you see the Hebrew women on the birth stools, if it's a girl, spare her but if it's a boy, kill him. Everything that's precious in God's sight is always aimed at by Satan for destruction.

Imagine a child having a sentence of death over him even from birth. That's the case with a number of children that were born at that period. However, thank God that the Hebrew women always bring forth before the midwives come. They're said not to be like the Egyptians. Since they've been put to work enough, they're rigorous having exercised bodies and so gives birth easily. Thank God for that.

However, the incident here portrays some real life incidents. It is not every time a pregnant woman delivers by herself. On many occasions, they always need the service of a midwife. A midwife therefore becomes a delivery taker, aid and assistance in bringing forth what they've always carried. She helps in the safe delivery of the baby to this earth. Take her for a mentor or your destiny helper in this context. Many times, you'll see those who have been pregnant with a vision, ideas and conceptualization yearn for delivery. They might have been in that form for years. However, they may be seeking for outlet where what they have inside of them could be given birth to. It is a blessing when God sends you fearful midwives (helpers of destiny) who will have no ulterior motive but rather to see that your vision is safely born.

In this world, you'll meet many midwives. Some don't want a new vision to be birthed. What they hunt down are precious destinies. May you not first of all fall into their hands. My prayer for you today is that when your delivery time nears, God will solely send to you or send you to someone who is under heaven's supremacy and has the fear of God not to tamper with your pregnancy. In our world, those who have been there don't want competition. They don't want another to come and make them feel insecure. You rarely would see somebody who will appreciate your ingenuity when you reflect one. People rather are pushed to the edge and begin to fret wondering if they won't lose their position. That's the kind of insecurity this Pharaoh who demanded all the male child to be killed was in. He could go to any length to see that your destiny mandate is not delivered.

But would it be kind in God's eyes that the pregnancy of nine months isn't delivered? Would it be precious in God's eyes that the incubation of the vision you've done for years is not fulfilled? That's why God is very much concerned with your delivery time. I know the visions that are in my mind. They await years to come. I've been incubating and carrying some for more than ten years now. Would it now be kind if at delivery time there's a contest with its fulfilment? No! What about all that has went into seeking its fulfilment and grooming it ready for delivery? Should they be all wasted? No! On this note, God is committed to ensuring that He sends to you mentors, teachers and people who'll jealously watch over your life, destiny and ensure a proper birth. They are not of those who have ulterior motives. Their motive is clear that a student could become perfect like his teacher and that a disciple could do greater works than his master. Those are the people God is giving you. Did the Bible not says, "I will give them teachers after my own heart who will feed them with Knowledge and understanding (Jer.3:15). That's what you're receiving. Aids, help and all assistance even from the end of the earth that could help you in becoming who you should be, birthing what you've nursed and carried for long in your heart. Yours won't be a still birth. Your baby won't die. You'll fulfill your dreams. Your heart's intents will come to pass. So shall it be. Amen!

PRAYER: Lord, give me the right atmosphere and people to assist in the birth of my dreams and visions.

HIS HAND ON YOU!

READ Jonah 1

Psalms 139:5, KJV

"Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me".

You should know the Lord as ever present. His ever presence everywhere makes it impossible for any of us to escape Him. That Psalm says," Thou [God] has beset me behind and before..."

To beset behind and before means nothing than to encompass or surround. What is surrounded paints the picture of what can't escape but that's already taken. "Beset" itself means to hem in or surround. Now that it is both besetting before and behind, it means there's no place for any [who seeks escape or independence] from God could go.

Today, God is addressing those with calls but who like Jonah are on the run. God is seeking to tell you that He God has hem you in. It means you're really surrounded and can't escape. Irrespective of what you do or think, you're just still in God's garden. If you want, travel abroad in the bid to escape your call and you shall see its futility.

The latter part of that statement says, "and laid Thy hand upon me". God's hand is on you. On you means He has placed a demand over you. On you means He'll need you for a purpose and earlier, He has collected you for Himself and for same purpose. By laying His hand on you, He has come to identify with you. It's not different from putting a mark on you so much more that wherever you go, you'll be identified for a particular intent that cannot be debated or mutilated.

"I have laid my hand on you" should also be comfort to many people. God's hand on you suggests His presence, His abiding presence ever being with you. This is what any man or woman of the calling enjoys. While God's hand on you claims you for God irrespective of where you run to or seek to go, it is what also brings God's power and commitment through you to people.

In verse seven, it becomes clear that the intent of this Psalm is on the inability of humans fleeing from God.

Psalms 139:7, KJV

"Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?"

Did you read that? Always ask yourself, where shall I go from God's Spirit and where shall I flee to from His presence? If you ask Jonah, he sure has a lot to say on that. Knowing this, it'll be very foolish of any of us not wanting to deliver the errand of God. The command to Jonah was, "rise, go to Nineveh and preach against its wickedness". However, Jonah boards a ship and goes to Tarshish. You know what happens next. That tells you that you have no place of refuge from the Lord. You just can't escape Him. There are some of you there this morning that the Lord has marked as vessels for Himself. He called you all to Himself. And those of you that He doesn't give a specific founding call to [especially of the five fold offices], He as well has assigned that you'll be attached to those founding callings. As a matter of fact, God has planned that some women would marry ministers of God. You may be there seeking to escape that plan and the fact that God has surrounded you about and laid His hand on you. However, you can't escape. Jonah did his best to escape from God's presence but he meets God every inch of the way. God is where you are going. The truth is this, if God has laid His hand on you, it means He has interest in you and would like to use you. On that note, you can't even marry just anyone. So, if your wife to be is refusing to heed her call, God who has laid His hand on her (to fit into your calling and be your helpmeet) is faithful enough to encompass her and bring her to her knees.

The Bible says, "before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations (Jeremiah 1:5, KJV). God is not just laying His hand on you or setting His mark on you for nothing's sake or just recently. No! He had done that earlier and according to the times specified in that verse above. So, it'll be futile agitating for your will now. He has taken interest in you long before, marked you and separated you for Himself. There's no where you can go from His presence now. While you were a baby, He made you hope on your mother's knees that it might come to pass that you're set apart for Him and for His use. As you were in school, He watches over you till now. Now is not the time to deny Him. Now is the time to heed the ancient call that has been on you. Now is the time to go on the errand of destiny and let it be known that He who He called, He justifies to glorify.

PRAYER: Lord, I submit to your will in every conceivable way. Do with me as you've always intended.

THE PLACE OF CONTENTMENT

Read Exodus 2:15-21

Exodus 2:21, KJV

"And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter".

God uses contentment to rest us. Did you get that at all? Moses is on the run for his life from Pharaoh who seek to kill him for the despicable offence he was discovered to have committed. Now in a foreign land, Moses shows generosity to the seven daughters of Reul, the Midian Priest by defending them against the shepherds and helping them to draw water. Reul observing his daughters were quickened than usual enquired the cause only to discover that a stranger had helped them. On this note, Moses was invited for a meet and refreshment but conclusively with a note that he was contented to dwell with Reul, the Midian Priest [otherwise known as Jethro].

That verse reveals that a kind of proposal must have been made Moses which he sees fit to agree to. If one was not formally made him, he must have decided from his observations of Reul and family that he's a worthy man to abide with. One way or the other, Moses gathered his convictions from a solid base of what he's assured of. That's why I said earlier that God uses contentment to rest us. If you haven't gotten where you would love to stay; find who you would love to be associated with or discover your calling in life, you can never be stayed. Irrespective of the deal or offer made you, you'll not be contented to stay or abide. Even if it were glamorous but does not still fit your yearning and envisaging, you'll probably continue on a search. I see that happen often in the work place. In order to hold body and soul together, some might take an employment offer [in what they least like] but with continuous pursuit of their life's task until it is made. However, contentment in each person's heart is the gauge and what distinguishes us from each other. First of all, all of us are not destined to meet the same needs. Due to this, we are not made for the same trade, vocation or profession. We're placed in different offices or callings therefore. It means while one is vying to becoming a policeman and could give anything for it, one would be vying to become a teacher. No matter your persuasion of each of these people, they'll never switch dreams or pursuit and the reason will be because they're contented to abide in their callings and do only the passion in their individual soul. If one has fulfilled being a teacher and the other still seeks to become a policeman, the latter will continue to give diligence to become that policeman because he'll have no contentment of heart until he has fulfilled it and he's also in his calling. Look at these two brothers.

Genesis 25:27, KJV

"And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents".

Did you see contentment in that verse? Did you see how each of them abides by what they have natural like, calling and ability for? Why would Esau be a cunning hunter, a man of the field [one who loves adventure and goes for it] and Jacob, a man who dwells in the tent and stays at home? Why couldn't they become same thing? Why couldn't one become so envious of the other as to choose the way and life of the other, therefore jeopardizing what he's made for in pursuit of another? It's because each of them have contentment for their types of life and profession. God is the one who puts contentment in our hearts. If we're on the right jobs, we'll feel contented to stay and abide with it. If we are not on what suits our soul and fits our calling, no matter the deal, we'll continue to seek contentment by searching for that soul satisfying life's task. But if you get somewhere and you suddenly stay (even with the small offer or reward being promised you), it'll be because you're contented. You may be telling others, "I like it. You may not understand why I'm staying". And indeed, they won't understand because they're not made for it.

So, what you'll stumble on before you find contentment, get satiated and so rested from further search may be different from another's. While many are opting nowadays for abroad as the place to go for a better life, there are some without the heart for abroad at all. The thought of travelling abroad doesn't content or inspire them. They want to remain here. That ain't because they can't cope there but they might just have discovered their place already [and that is revealed in the country they are currently]. They just have little or no motivation for traveling and I can tell you that what fails to motivate you is what, where or who you're not made for. I know I couldn't have been a Mathematician because Mathematics was not my chief joy amidst all subjects. So, what people pursue or could pursue with their lives is what they're fully persuaded about and have an inner love, persuasion or conviction over. If you were to meet another who's different in opinion or love from you, you'll probably wonder why they aren't feeling the way you're feeling. You'll wonder why they are not embracing what you think is best. You see, that Moses was contented to dwell with the Midian Priest doesn't mean another refugee would be contented to stay with him. If God denies such contentment or gives him no inner satiation, he'll move on, seeking for his rest. God has created humanity in their varieties and put in them different desires and longings that only different things could satiate. This place says, "he hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart...". Mark, "He hath set eternity in their heart". What to long for is solely put in our souls by God. If yours has not been perverted, your passion and love could be indicators of what you should do, where you should be or who you should become.

PRAYER: Lord, let me have rest over what You have willed me to do.

MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE - Olusola ADEJUMO

AT SEVENTEEN!

Genesis 37:2, KJV

"These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad was with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives: and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report".

Imagine what we have above! Joseph being seventeen years old was feeding the flock of his father with his brethren. Just at seventeen or at seventeen!

Number is not just for mentioning. It's for a purpose. That verse also reveals something in association with Joseph's age. It calls him a "lad" who feeds the flock with the sons of Bilhah and Zilpah. That should tell you something that's obvious. While David is seventeen years old, just a lad and has entered into active activity and active service, the people he does it with are way older than him. It's not any surprise that they are going about their father's business but we should have our attention commanded reading about the enrollment of Joseph with them as a shepherd (when the Bible calls him a lad).

"...and the lad was with the sons of Bilhah and with the sons of Zilpah". These are the children of the two maids and Jacob has found none other to enroll Joseph with but them. May you be wise to be enrolled early with those who are known to be professionals in their fields.

If at seventeen, Joseph feeds his father's flocks and has the testimony of just being a lad, this should tell you how much God wants you to straighten up and discover what to live for. Careless living at one's early age is a curse and inhibition to the satisfactory fulfilment of purpose. If we can find a boy to enroll into service with others who we could call professionals, then such boy ought to be praised for having come early. God wants you to come early. He wants you to begin in the way you'll go that early. Destiny training shouldn't be something that'll await your years to come. It should be foundational so that you might learn and run with it.

You can have the testimony of pasturing and feeding the flock with those who have been there for long. You may be the youngest in that practice or profession yet your being young doesn't denote stupidity, inadequacy or professional foolishness. As we see of Joseph, he even exercises responsibility and leadership trait by bringing their evil report to their father. The same work the sons of Bilhah and Zilpah (who could be said to have attained) do is what Joseph does. All of them are pasturing and feeding their father's flocks but here's a seventeen years old boy with them. That's a boy whose attention could have been on some other things. However, the father has chosen for him a training to ready him for the future. Anyone who relents the process for you is destroying you. They're secretly making you inadequate. Rather, don't let anyone despise your youth. Prove to be capable like Joseph. Exceed expectation as a young chap that you are. Do this by finding an enterprise to enroll in this early.

Do remember that Joseph was just seventeen (a lad, a boy) when he feeds his father's flocks with the mature sons of Bilhah and Zilpah. You can be this fortunate to be reputed to have started this early.

PRAYER: Lord, may I be weaned early and given to purpose and known to match along in purpose with those reputed for it.

GOD: OUR PRESENT HELP - Understanding The God Of The Three Tenses (Past, Present & Future) While Affirming The Present Tense And Now God

GOD: OUR PRESENT HELP - Understanding The God Of The Three Tenses (Past, Present & Future) While Affirming The Present Tense And Now God

I was in devotion this morning when I heard, "God, a present help..." I knew its in the Psalms. However, with it came the remembrance of a hymn we have sang for years. It was only its first stanza that came and appealed to me but I'll sure post all for your encouragement.

Lyrics - O God Our Help In Ages Past

1. O God, our help in ages past,

Our hope for years to come,

Our shelter from the stormy blast,

And our eternal home.

2. Within the shadow of thy throne,

Still may we dwell secure.

Sufficient is thine arm alone,

And our defense is sure.

3. Before the hills in order stood,

Or earth received her frame,

From everlasting thou art God,

To endless years the same.

4. O God, our help in ages past,

Our hope for years to come,

Be thou our guide while life shall last

And our eternal home".

This hymn is not ordinary and was not ordinary when it was written or ministered to me. Not that I was gagged or pressed on all sides at the time of receiving but I perceived the Lord gave it to me this morning (as I was doing my own thing) just to encourage many whose hands will find it so.

"O God, our help in ages past" forever brings to my consciousness that David says, "moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine" (I Sam. 17:37, KJV).

Can you come to a place in life where when new serial challenges confront you, your default reply would be, "moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will (yet) deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine?" If you're yet not here, it's either you don't know God at all, knows Him but intentionally denies Him (so He might not receive the glory) or you're simply an ingrate. Then, you need an entrance into understanding.

David being confronted with Goliath seems to be assuring King Saul and the entire army to be at rest because, "He has known a God of last year who's as well the God of this year and who of course will be God of years to come". It doesn't matter what day or what year we're in. That God shall be God over all of them. He's the God of the seasons and times of our lives. The Psalmist knows this and so he confesses in full trust of God and His act, saying, "my times are in God's hands" (Psalm 31:15). Is yours in His hands? Is your yesterday, today and tomorrow reputed to be His to administer and see to? Are you sure of that? Are you born again for it to be His to administer?

The Lord our help in ages past is not only our help in the yesteryears that has passed. That hymn also says, "our hope for years to come". It tells me something. God takes thought for us. He has gone ahead us to put plans in place. He doesn't want us to suffer and so like a child, He bore and delivered us yesterday. But this His work of delivering us (which He did yesterday) did not end there, it extends to the today we are in and the tomorrow we shall be in.

On this note, God is fit to be called, "our very present help in trouble". Many people have cried and He heard them. He's not only a God whose usefulness strides the yesteryears we've experienced and left; the tomorrow and future we anticipate which we have not seen but that same God qualifies as "our very present help in trouble". That is, "our help today and for today". Hallelujah!

Psalms 46:1, says, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". What do you think that mean? A refuge is a stronghold - a place you run to and into for safety. Simply put, it is a fort or a safety house. God is a refuge. It means, God is your shelter. In Him, no harm can and will come to you. In Him, your security is assured even if you're in a tattered war zone where arrows in stray bullets fly around to harm and pestilence contagiously ruins. Remember, God is all in all your keeper (from it all). If God is your refuge then, it means you can't be shaken, scared and put to flight. Do you know why? A refuge is a place, thing or person that's impregnable. You can't take, capture or defeat it. It always stands tall, still and ever remaining to continue in existence. Refuge is not only security, it is secured itself! Since it can't be shivered, shifted or moved therefore, (and you're in such refuge which is God), it consequently means you won't be moved, removed, relocated or put to flight at the sight of fear and upturning (Psalm 46:2-3). Look, you've become the planting of the Lord therefore. Who will root you up?

But, He's also your strength. God is reputed to supply strength to the weary and give strength to the faint (Isa. 40:29, 31). Those'll be made up of the depressed and downtrodden by Satan, people, national economy and life's events etc. Irrespective of your status which has resulted in lack of strength (joy), God is saying, "I am your strength". Wherever you have lost ability and have been dsyfunctioned, God is saying, "I take interest. It's in such lowliness and weakness I do reveal my strength for your perfection". It means your enabler over life and its events is God. People, God is a strengthener indeed. If you've found strength when you were discouraged, tired and confused before (even at just a simple call on God), you'll know that though God is invisible yet He's interested in human affairs and lives up to all His names (called Him) and revelations (that explains Him). He is not called, "refuge, strength or present help in trouble" in vain. All these reveal God's characteristics. His very essence; tangibility; the smoke he smokes and the fire he can fire. Strength is to pact you together. That's why what lacks strength is what always falls off, away and scatters. Strength is what holds things together. Strength can be invisible yet it will welds you together to keep holding in the face of challenges.  Strength will ensure you still hold together and believe (in continuance) when situation that could cause the natural man to end or run away occurs. It is strength which is God's nature impacted to you that makes you trivializes what crushes others. When you're strengthened, you'll suddenly arrive at faith and have faith in the face of fierce turbulence. Let me affirm that with a passage. Just read and see.

Genesis 49:23-24, KJV

"23 The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him: 24 But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:).

How many of you read that place? Did you read how, "Joseph's bow abode in strength and how the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob?" They were butchering him but he was not butchered. They want him to give way and succumb to all they're doing to him but he excels them in strength by giving off the opposite of their intention. May your bow today abide in strength. May you always say, "what could Satan, men or situations do to me? I shall remain unafraid" (Psalm 118:6, 56:11).  What do robbers do? They break doors. Imagine five people hitting, beating and clubbing a door (with the intention of pulling it down and gaining entrance through it) but which to their amazement and refusal, the door abides in strength. Strength when impacted to you will make you stand without eroding, melted or ever intimidated. You'll be pact and compacted together. You'll just be and remain like a surrounded city that cannot be taken. I'm hearing, "like the hills surrounds Jerusalem", so are you! Yes, so have you become (Psalm 125:1-2).

But more importantly, Psalm 46 says, "God is our present help in trouble". Good! Very good! If you're in trouble, don't be embarassed. Being in trouble (though the kind might differ) is uniform to all humans that still breathe. None of us is spared of one trouble or the other. That includes all ministers of God or vessels God do use to evacuate problems in people's lives. That includes me. I have my trouble and will still have my troubles (that's not a curse) but in all, "God is said to be our/my very present help in trouble".

"...very present help in trouble" means, "rapid response squad; as soon as possible help or deliveries". All of us know how America is portrayed (even in movies). As a country that gives present help to her citizens in trouble. A house ablaze would promptly receive the service of fire fighters and things would be salvaged. A kidnapped citizen by terrorists would immediately receive a commanded troop of operational combat soldiers to quickly rescue her and she'll be rescued. And as such, they praise America. They're not negligent. They're always available. They could be reached. You could call them and they'll pick your call (on time). If you dial their number when it's happening, in that emergency, you can trust their availability and rescue mission. However, let's ask, could America's impeccable services (though not always surviving) tangles God's? So, when the Word of God establishes the fact that, "God is our present help in trouble", it means He's always "at hand". It means, "He's our standby". It means He's constant, sure, reliable and dependable. If you're in trouble at midnight, night, dawn, morning, noon, midday afternoon, evening, summer, winter, dry, rainy seasons etc and you'll acknowledge Him, He'll always come riding on the wings of the cloud to bring you out. Summarily, God doesn't forsake individuals in their trouble and forsaken condition. He spared Joseph in the dry well, collected him from there and set his feet on the road to destiny. He saved Daniel in/from the lion's den and the Hebrew boys even in/from literal fire. In all conditions, He has not failed and will not fail being our present help in trouble. He sounds and answers for us always.

This idea of, "we run 24 Hours Service" and could be reached is God's idea, identity and life but which was made man's reality in order for us to have an immediate answer and responses to/for all human endeavours of concern. That is what becomes the action of the health sector for which they have helicopters for critical emergencies in order to have a speedy means and edge of saving endangered ruptured lives. If you've been to Lagos, Nigeria before; you'll see the heart of a Government that doesn't want a single life to be lost even when they fall victims of road accidents. On that note, the Government built a facility (a Quick Response Emergency Hospital) by the express road to collect injured victims of road accidents, salvage and put them in the zone of life until total and proper treatment could further be given them. They even have emergency numbers and a transport system that works. You see, all these human innovations are derivations, deductions and acts garnered from the reality of who God is and what He does. That's why America would be stupid to kick God out. The resemblance of anything that works in their system comes from the perfect nature of God that their early founders deducted and took after. If they're now collapsing the stones on which they've been raised, I wonder how long they'll last and how far they could go protecting against things falling apart, the centre not holding and anarchy not reigning?

God is our very present help in trouble. He's not only the God of years past or of ages to come. He's our very present help in trouble - the today God, the now care and deliverance giver. That "very" means He's the immediate deliverer, healer, minder, comforter, encourager, enlarger, strengthener, insurer, inspirer, helper, advocate, intercessor, provider, shield, cover and anything that may be your own need in trouble.

"In trouble" means at the time of need. You see, all of us will have our darkest moments but the unshakeable reliable truth is that in it, God is our immediate present help. He will deliver us and none of our bones shall be known to have been broken. He'll rescue you and the hurt of the fire will not be seen on you. He'll cleanse you and your flesh shall be reputed to have come alive like that of a newborn from all dieseases (that is having passed through the fire and the waters (but which He disallowed from consuming and overflowing you). What a salvation! What a deliverance! What a rescue and what a Rescuer!

Hmmmm! I give Him kudos! I sound the alarm to celebrate Him. I give an offering just to adore Him. I prostrate fall at His feet! He's overwhelming. One man testifies that, 'He [God] sent from above, he [God] took me; he [God] drew me out of many waters" ( 2 Samuel 22:17, Psalms 18:16).

That's the type of salvation God is reputed for and for which I'm teaching on His behalf. As soon as people calls or as soon as He notices them there, there's a prompt that soonest. He always come to rescue them out of their many waters. That reminds me of how a water once took me away in my dream and how at the invoking of the name of Jesus, I was brought back. God is with you! Ever with you! Presently with you! Immediately present with you! Very close to you! Always moving things for you, meeting your needs and ploughing ahead for your sake. You may not see Him but He's present and active. He's interested in you (and what you're passing through). He is your very, now and immediate present help in trouble.

On this note, may He hears you and be for you! If God be for you, who can be...?

THE MOVE OF LOT

READ Gen.13

Genesis 14:11-12, KJV

"11 And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way. 12 And they took Lot, Abram's brother's son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed".

There are two places on earth: where God is and where He has left. Ensure that you're always where God is. Your everyday safety is tied to that.

The undoing of Lot begins when he separates from Abraham to pitch his tent towards Sodom (Gen.13:10-12). The Bible witnesses however that the people of Sodom are wicked before God (Gen.13:13). Do you know that in all you do, you must ensure you do not miss God. If you leave where God is to where God is not, you'll have successfully missed God. Many people there be who are just like Lot. They're leaving and separating from where they have good cover to leave for a place where in the nearest future, they'll be taken as prey. What difference would it have made for Lot if he never moved towards Sodom. He does and only turns prey to the events of life. He became a victim of circumstance and a war he knew nothing about. The movement of Lot to Sodom just coincides with the warring of some kings and unfortunately, the king of his city was defeated and put to flight. On that note, Lot and all he has is taken as booty of war. Only for a fellow who came to tell Abraham, the Hebrew. If not, Lot would not have been recovered at all. He would have gone just like that. When he was packing for relocation and settlement, he was actually going where he'll coincide with the evil of the day to come. What difference would it make if he were led by God and had not chosen by sight or prevalent economic situation (Gen 13:10).

God is our insight into the future we yet don't see and He gives protection to His own who carries Him along all the way. At this level, I don't expect a Christian who has walked with the Lord for at least five years to make decisions on his own on where to live or settle any longer. Such should have understanding enough that there's no where on earth that's safe except where God tells one to stay. Or else, you can pack from A and go to become prey in B. Look at Lot, he just became a cheap prey and war booty because he went to live where he shouldn't have. It doesn't matter who you are or what you have, if you miss God, natural events that shouldn't have caught you but which do happen to natural beings would catch up with you. You'll just be trapped like a fish in an evil net (Eccl. 9:12). The regrets would be much.

Our insight into escape of futuristic evils is God. I don't have to know all that the future holds. What matters is hearing God on where not to stay, who not to go with, where not to invest my money or where to generally. If I ever get such correctly, if there's a pit down the line hidden or obvious, I shall escape it. God can't lead you and you'll have the testimony of having gone to be ditched. No! The Bible says, "the Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want" (Psalm 23). I shall not want means, "I shall not lack or miss anything". It means you'll search all your goods and it'll be whole. You'll inspect your house, number your men and none of them will be wanting.

Numbers 31:49, KJV

"And they said unto Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war which are under our charge, and there lacketh not one man of us".

Did you read, "and there lacks not one man of us?" It means they missed nothing. That'll be because the Lord is your shepherd. If He is, it means there won't be any area of your life that'll be lacking or wanting. You won't have the testimony to have suddenly incurred lost somewhere. If He ever shepherds you, it'll be to shelter, abundance and great bounty. You won't say, I have losses to count in this area. If you do, you're wanting and in want in that area. But God doesn't lead us to diminishing. He rather leads us so that our path and that of the destroyer will not meet. I pray for you, you won't miss God. You won't fall prey to the circumstances of your time. You'll always be ahead of what's coming. You'll escape today and forevermore.

PRAYER: Lord, I am not taken unawares. I am shepherded and shall never be in want (look up for an area to be settled or met). All shall have been fixed for me by submission to Your leading.

WHAT YOU'RE CALLING WILL COME TO BE WITH YOU

WHAT YOU’RE CALLING WILL COME TO BE WITH YOU

That’s what I heard as I continued in God’s presence. Without missing it, it's for us here.

Beware of what you’re incessantly calling. That thing has hearing faculty and would come to be with you. Many people have made requests, signed creeds and entered into accords with spirits, people, events and even places just by their words and how they use it to nod to and validate a connection between themselves and those things.

When you continually cherish and take pride in talking about the country’s economy in its bad light for instance and lend it voices by posting mines, comical skits etc that generalizes what poverty, hardship, evil and difficulty would do to the nation especially when the skit is saying things like, “we’ll eat corn tired, drink gari tired or trek tired”. Do you know you’re under the umbrella of those utterances because the utterance is saying, "we". Unfortunately, I see people re-echo such by saying, "if all things cost, gari has not now or we'll anyway soak gari". You see, you can say enough of that until you're taken seriously. You'll attract and vibrate to yourself frequency that'll tune and lock that greatest verbalized priority of your heart that has been escaping (though ignorantly and foolishly) out of your mouth in and to yourself. Your response to such posts may be of laughter but the domineering spirit of the time i.e poverty, lack, suffering, pain, accident etc which you're incessantly calling, rejoicing and hanging with would have immediately signed an accord and agreement with you. Look, it would come to peep at you one day. You'd be surprised. The bad news is that at its arrival, people are slow of heart to observe it has come and has gone to work in their affairs. That once happened to Jesus' disciples.

You can reinstate something long enough until it takes flesh and comes to dwell with you.

Jesus’ disciples were on their way and while they journeyed and their discussion lasted, they talked about Jesus and all events that pointed to Him. It wasn’t long before the fellow they were missing, longing for, feeling after and are concerned for comes to join them. He just came like that to dwell with them bodily. They even walked the distance and talked together.

Luke 24:13-16, KJV

"13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs. 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened. 15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. 16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him".

You see, they've spoken enough words into the atmosphere (going into the spirit) that assures God that these ones would like to have that Jesus! And here they have Him unmasked! You see, your spirit, soul and body could be homesick for something until it's replicated. The Psalmist asks this.

Psalms 84:1-3, KJV

"1How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts! 2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God. 3 Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God".

From that reading, you know the singular pursuit of that man. You know what he's dying to see, meet, have occurred or realized. And mind you, it's everything in him, all his energy that he channels towards realizing it. Nothing was spared. It is such man that would see God. As at the time of crying, his longing has not been met. So, he's still brooding, vibrating and incubating on seeing it rested. The Bible says, "and the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat" (Genesis  8:4, KJV). While the swallows have found rest, yet not this man. So, he continues his spirit travels.

You see, though the understanding of the disciples was holden from sensing Him yet they successfully called and attracted Him to themselves. Look at me, by consistent confession and prayer with a burning heart set aflame in asking for that thing and seeking to have it, you can have all things. All your things exists in the faith realm but you can possess them when you're ready. They can be spell-bound to gravitate towards you.

What you’re calling, you’ll have. Just this afternoon, I was relating something about my mother to my family (my sibling who stays with me also knows). Mama just knows things. Once my elder sister (married) was pregnant and without any hint, it just occurred to Mama to ask her, “hope you’re not pregnant.” One time, something was missing somewhere because it was stolen. Though Mama was not there, when she came meeting the scenario, she told the searchers, “it is XYZ” and afterwards, the fellow owe up. Many instances like that. Just many. So, I summarily told them that’s the manifestation of the gift of revelation - word of knowledge. It means she’s a prophetic vessel or could be used mightily there. God really has special interest and need for her. I once told her that.

As I went further in that discussion, believe what happened. The anointing just came on me. It was an anointing of insight, understanding, worship, revelation and even prophecy. I suddenly had a motivation to move in the area I was speaking about. Light came and it was a moment of comprehension for me. Things just flooded me that instance.

Beware of what you’re inviting. Your speech is a call that lays claim and drags things to visibility. Beware of unprofitable demands! You can call it into being. Beware of what you’re thinking or else you would burn things down. Then, beware of what you take into prayer, I assure you, you’ll see them. Please, be sure before you pray against anything, especially persons!

What you’re incessantly talking about would reveal your quest, longing, passion, burning or unconscious/unintentional desire for that thing.

Beware so you don’t burn a whole building. As I’m seeing into the spirit, you’re a weapon - like a made ready loaded gun. You’re already cocked. What you await is the order to shoot and hunt. Your arrows are sharp and your bullets too effective to miss. Your tongue may be little but it boasts of great things. What it has ability to born and deliver are too mighty to be believed. It is a fire - a world of iniquity.

James 3:6, KJV

"And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell".

It can set on fire the entire course of nature. So, beware of these ideas, thoughts, words you're cultivating, fellowshipping with or deploying. They're tangibilities that are waiting to blow! It'll be better not to incessantly mention, call, fellowship and habitually play around what you don't want to see (by speaking on, of, about, towards, around) them. Please, don't arouse spirits (Holy or unholy) when you're not ready for their offsprings. It is not only emotion or love that must not be awoken when it's time has not.

If you do, carrying and wearing your thoughts like burning desires (that must happen tomorrow) on the canvas of your heart, they'll like a mighty rushing wind come to be with you. You'll simply draw and have successfully hit a frequency where the calls you've been making would be eventually picked. Beware! The signal you're sending is being received. Enough of it would descend the God Head and all others as you'll instruct. Beware of ceaseless firing that are not intended. Eeee, God is warning you, "you'll raze something down!"

RESOLUTION LIKE THE HILLS

READ Gen.14:1-24

Genesis 14:22-24, KJV

"22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth, 23 That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich; 24 Save only that...

The hills (also known as mount) are known for one thing - they can't be shifted (removed or relocated). The Bible says, "they that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever". (Psalms 125:1, KJV). "Abides for ever" means stabilized and stayed in one place. What an assurance of immovability! Today's devotional title says, "resolution like the hills". Yes, like the hills that cannot be removed. It means, "taking a stand and then standing indeed". It means agreeing with one self on what to do and then doing same. Until you do same, you'll be deemed to have not effected your stand". Look, promises can be made but lost!

In today's reading, Abraham goes in the rescue of Lot, his nephew. He not only recovers Lot but all that the raided party had taken away from Sodom. At his conquest and return, the King of Sodom in anxiety snapped at Abraham, signalling what he would prefer of the spoil - the humans. Abraham however displays a kind of contentment and aloofness from same thing that he exercises much energy and covetousness after that he must have been silenced, rebuked and cautioned inwardly. This is what attitude Christians should cultivate. God should be able to use you to puncture lust of the flesh, of the eyes and pride of life in people. By our lives, they should be judged and brought to repentance even if they don't tell us. I know that the King of Sodom must have been seriously shocked at how Abraham had promised not to take anything apart from what his confederates have eaten and which should rightly belong to them. Another moral that we must owe no man anything! Don't crucify any man to your sacrifice and personal chastisement unless they're born by the same revelation and so come into agreement.

However, our flashlight should be on Abraham and how he bound himself with an oath on taking nothing extra. You see, those who take such precaution before hand shall be saved from the hour of temptation because they'll have successfully gated against it by their having already taken a stand.

Abraham swore with the name of the Lord God Almighty, the Maker of heaven and earth and all that's in them. It becomes difficult or impossible for him breaking his commitment. When he takes that oath (signified by a lift of hand), he decides and comes to a resolution on what he'll do and not do (no matter how tempted he might be). And indeed, Abraham could have been tempted but he resolutely affirm to this king that he had lifted his hand (in an oath) to the God that cannot be disappointed or violated that he'll neither take the least of the booty except what by properness should be given as payment and wages to his confederates. What a resolution! He said it and he fulfilled it. This is a resolution like the hills - that cannot be shifted, removed or relocated!

Brethren, God is calling you to hold unto that which is good and jettison that which is evil. You need to be resolute on that if you won't be moved or removed. Many a people are those who have secretly affirm that they'll save, give up a habit or cultivate another. At day's end when they're confronted with the practicality of that subject, off they went. They were knocked down and shadow boxed by what they'd promised themselves in  front of [heaven's cloud of witnesses] that they'll do. But we have a man in Abraham to learn from. A man who was not swayed, swept or suddenly discouraged from following through. Brethren, learn following through! When you agree with yourself to do something, heaven is your witness though no man be there. You have their backing and God's grace is your sufficient aid. Don't disappoint because heaven won't let go if you'll hold on still. You too, you can lift your hand today and say, "I shall not back down until I see God's will fulfilled in me and through me. His righteousness and knowledge must fill everywhere like the water covers the sea". Since He Himself has no pleasure in violators of vow [either the one made to Him or before Him], this assures us that He'll give His own commitment to fulfill your undertaking [Eccl.5:4-5). Did He not say, "I'm with you till the end of the world (Matt. 28:20)?" Look, you can go about His assignment and believe indeed that nothing shall by any means hurt you.

PRAYER: Lord, You're the same yesterday, today and forever. I believe in Your unchanging/immovable nature. Impact me with such strength. I shall not move or be removed. I shall say it and I shall do it.

THE NAMES JUPITER AND MERCURY

Acts 14:11-12, KJV

"11 And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men. 12 And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.

You can earn yourself a name. Name is very powerful as a means of identity. Paul and Barnabas earned themselves names. Not that they were intentionally driven at that but that was one of the honours of their being used by God.

After the healing of that lame from his mother's womb, everybody in surprise of what was done couldn't keep shut but rather say, "the gods have come down to us in the likeness of men". Why would they say that? Why would they compare them to the gods? That's obviously because of the great miracle wrought by their hands. They are privy to how long that lame must have been there. They'd repeatedly seen him. They knew it was not a scam that he therefore rose up and walked. Seeing that, they accord it as only what the gods could have done. And indeed, a miracle is not what any human could do. Christians only do it because the Holy Spirit (a God) enables him. So, they're correct to an extent when they said, "the gods are come down to us in the likeness of men". Only that they were corrupt in their understanding of who to give credit and glory to. It wasn't the gods Jupiter or Mercury or any other but God almighty who don't live in houses made by human hands.

On that note, seeing there are two speakers, they named Barnabas, Jupiter and Paul, Mercurius. Who's Jupiter and who's Mercurius and why would they name these two apostles after them (in their own understanding and as a means of venerating them - the apostles).

Briefly, Jupiter is the god of the sky and thunder, and king of the gods in ancient Roman religion and mythology. Jupiter was the chief deity of Roman state religion throughout the Republican and Imperial eras, until Christianity became the dominant religion of the Empire. Meanwhile, Mercurius is a major god in Roman religion and mythology, being one of the 12 Dii Consentes within the ancient Roman pantheon. He is the god of financial gain, commerce, eloquence, messages, communication (including divination), travelers, boundaries, luck, trickery, and thieves; he also serves as the guide of souls to the underworld.

We may begin to gather insights into why Paul especially was given the name Mercurius. Mercurius is the god of eloquence, messages and communication. No wonder Paul was given that name on the basis that he was the chief speaker. Chief speaker immediately reminds you of high school debates where there's a main and supporting speakers. For the orality of Paul, he earned a name after a god whose characteristics he displayed.

Now, you may wonder and rebuke Satan for these two apostles. You may be jealous for their sakes and do not want them be joined to idols. However, you ought see that it is the life they already have and which they lived out that earned them that name. They're not trying to mimick those gods in attitudes. If it were possible, it's the gods and their people who are looking unto them. They didn't give that name to them from expectation. They did from experience and contact of having known them to be supernatural men - the likes of the gods. On that note, they have those names. The truth is that you can earn a name by what you do, how you live or what you're reputed for. This same name, "Barnabas" was a surname given to Joses. Barnabas means "the son of consolation" (Acts 4:36). As we all know, consolation or comfort is the byproduct of a prophet's or exhorter's offices. Having observed he has such gift, they recognized it by naming him after a life he lives and the task he does. So, he earns Barnabas.

Christians are in this world to be light and sweet perfume spreading the fragrance of Christ. The testimony concerning us should be so blessed that we'll be reputed for a healer, lover, giver, comforter, helper, encourager, blesser etc. Watch it if you've been misnamed due to unrighteousness and misbehaviour.

PRAYER: Teach me holily and power packed living that I may be answers to all in needs.

YOU WILL CALL HIS NAME JOHN

Luke 1:13, KJV

"But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John".

So far, we have looked at naming after experience (s) or even expectation (s). We still want to push this untitled series further.

The angel that met Zacharias told him, he shall name the son that'll be born to him, John. This is a revelation to him. Receiving by revelation is possible and it could be either ways. Either you pray to God for it or God voluntarily for a reason of His own gives you such disclosure.

The name John is a strange name. You may not know it is strange until you read witnesses from those who called it so.

Luke 1:59-61, KJV

"59 And it came to pass, that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they called him Zacharias, after the name of his father. 60 And his mother answered and said, Not so; but he shall be called John. 61 And they said unto her, There is none of thy kindred that is called by this name".

Do you know what is fighting a lot of people? It is not the multitude of people contesting what God has told them but the fact that they themselves can't take a stand. Many people have feet but they can't still stand let alone take a stand. They are too feeble and are easily persuaded out of God's will. If need be, let me warn you that if you're easily persuaded out of God's will and you aren't bold and strong will on what the Holy Spirit has told you to do, you'll grieve Him many times and be at loggerheads with God.

The name John is a revelatory communicated name to Zacharias, the father of John. Thank God he carried his wife along on what the baby would be named. On his naming ceremony, the just born baby is named Zacharias after his father. To the masses of relatives and crowd there, nothing is wrong in that. It is a good thing for a child to bear even his father's name in our dispensation. The many "juniors" you'd find comes as a derivation from the name of their father. For instance, you know we have Martin Luther King (the father) and then we have Martin Luther King (Junior). That idea still runs today. They'd almost named the new born baby Zacharias when the mother protested that he shall be named John. When she said that, everybody becomes sorely surprised at the strangeness of her utterance because no one in their family cycle, household or let's say lineage bears that name.

Let me quickly tell you that you can name your child after your own desires. Some in the process of wanting to carve such uniqueness for their children have gone into the Greek or Hellenist and the Roman Cultures to name after gods and exotic beings. They want to appear impressing, civil and special. You'd better be careful to seek the will of God and let it be done. Or else, you'd called somebody a name that'll grieve and frustrate them in the spirit so much more that it'll be evidenced they're being frustrated and gagged on earth and in their day to day living.

Parents must learn to stay with the will of God like Elizabeth protested and demanded that the baby be named John. We know that the name is strange but that's what God said he should be called. We should not be afraid of doing contrary to age long traditions or dispensational practices when it's the Lord calling for their being set aside. When do we become shivering kittens that are controlled by the spirit of the age instead of the Spirit of truth? I don't care whether it is strange to do or not, if I know it's the Lord and I can prove that, I'd take the step. Elisabeth could have been sidelined and the boy eventually named after his father but for the timely confirmation from his father. Seeing that it is not the authoring of Elizabeth alone that the baby be named such unfamiliar name, they all succumb to the will of the parents. The boy became known as John and so the will of God is effected over him.

This drama reveals the contest against God's will and it has just told me one thing. Every God's will, thought and breathing shall be contested and fought against. The devil will hide his thoughts in fighting them under expressions like, "none of your kindred bear this name". What he's seeking to do is to have you embarassed and portrayed as a breaker of age long tradition (an unruly and disobedient fellow). Once he can make you afraid of being a first timer on such divine ground God is solely calling you to, you'll be finished. So, learn not to be afraid. Learn to be called to do the unpopular and if it be God, you shall prove Him so in years to come. We all know how great and greatly to be praised John became in the will of God. He was a very critical messenger. Except he appears, Jesus couldn't have appeared. He was meant to identify Jesus through his baptism (John 1:33) and even to give Jesus' ministry the needed public approval it needs to be floated (John 1:29-38). But according to God's revealed will, he shall be called John and not Zacharias. Many a children bearing Zacharias after their parents, grandparents and many noble people who God didn't ordain that they'll wear the hides or skin of those men. By wearing their hides or skins, they have now become encroachers into the destinies and lives of others. They are nothing but Jacobs trying to appear as an Esau when God has not called them one (Gen.27:15-16). They're trapped in the lives others have lived and in the assignments others have executed. They're in the world trying to find their feet. They are consequently lost from the onset trying to wear the shoes of another and walk in his steps. They have failed to be adjured to see that God is calling them to take a new land and go on a new path. They are seeking to discover themselves and shake off the garment they've been worn and the lies with which they've been clothed. They become mimicks and in turn mockeries. As God has supremely seen, He rather wants to carve a new path for them. You can allow God, contest Him or distort His plan. You will choose! However, may God's angel meet such and ask them what name they bear in the light of renaming and recalibrating them. May they not go, labour and tarry under the hides and skin of another or a wrong name forever when they're destined for more.

PRAYER: Lord, give me a new name. I put off every wrong names, hides and skin that have been worn me. I look as you designed and function so.
