YOUR CALLING ESTABLISHES YOU - The Essence & Value of Life Series 009

Read Judges 9:1-13

Judges 9:8, KJV

"8 The trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the olive tree, Reign thou over us.9 But the olive tree said unto them, Should I leave my fatness, wherewith by me they honour God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?"

One of the major sources of envy is not having what another has. It is also having a lesser image of oneself. If you do (though you're blessed), you might covet what other people have. If you have a heart assurance that you're in your calling and you're not missing out of anything called the will of God for you, you're not moved at what another becomes or what he does. Your comfort is, "I am also doing mine. I am in the will of God just like he is in the will of God." For instance, if somebody travels abroad because his purpose or calling requires that, you won't begin to envy or unleash anger at such fellow because you are also not idle and jobless in the country. You're fulfilling your purpose. You have found contentment and sure knowing on where you should be at that time. As a matter of fact, because you're very strong in God's will for you, you will joy with that person and celebrate him. That's a calling and a person that's not inferior to another and so couldn't envy.

Today's reading is such a delight. From the parable of Jotham, we shall extract some certain truths for ourselves. The trees went one time to anoint a king over themselves. They turn to the olive tree but it refuses to deny God and the whole world her olive oil. Later on, the trees turn to the fig tree but with refusal also. It has also found its calling and would refuse to be distracted from it. As such, it also refuses leaving its sweet fruit in order to be king over the trees. Lastly, the trees requested of the grapevine with yet another refusal from it. Its excuse also is not wanting to leave the production of wine it has been known for which serves the purpose of cheering both God and the people.

Reading this, we have a workbook to work with. These three trees are very purposeful trees. They wouldn't break rank or leave their callings despite the great honour that's attached to being a king. They have found their callings and are sticking to it. This is who we should all be. When you find the essence and value of your life - what your life should be given for or spent on, you should become unrepentant of such. Nothing ought to be able to convert you from this. It should become your meat like Jesus says, "My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work" (John 4:34). That's what ought to happen.

A mark that you haven't found your calling - something to give your entire life for is being tossed here and there by other attractive offers of life. What is being a king to these trees? One said, "I'm already known by my olive oil. Another said, "I'm already known by my fruit. Yet another said, "I'm already known by my wine." All of them have one product or the other of their callings to give. They even testify of giving glory to God and bringing usefulness to man by so doing. They aren't idle. They are men who are known for good works in their callings. They have found it and they are not letting it go. Insufficiency of their callings (if there's any at all) didn't cast doubt in their minds. They know what purpose their callings serve. As such, they could resolutely refuse to be distracted or seduced away from it. More importantly, they didn't even envy being a king. They turned it down though having a lot of honour. You see, that was what I started with. That when you're in your calling, you don't care whether it is registered as big or small in people's eyes. As long as you know you're giving the oil, fruit and wine of it, you'll just keep giving it. You'll become irreedemable from it. That's who we should become.

Today, if you haven't found your calling, you ought find it. If not, you'll always be thrown into envy and jealousy when you see others give the oil, fruit and wine of their callings. You'll look threatened and you might react accordingly. Knowing God's plan for you and following it is a great remedy to an unfulfilled life.

PRAYER: Father, I receive an awareness of my calling. I shall stick and joy in my calling.

RISING UP IS AN EXCEEDING VAST ARMY (B) - The Essence and Value of Life Series 008

I Kings 19:18, KJV

"Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him."

Yesterday, the Father brought us the revelation of the exceeding vast army. We shall proceed in it today. So, we'll need to travel again but to I Kings.

The Lord called me by my name. He said, "Olusola, I'm raising a purposeful people. I'm raising an exceeding vast army of purposeful men and women. People might have thought such like them don't exist. Some might even have said, "only few are purposeful or only us are purposeful." But He said, "I still have many who are as purposeful as anything and zealous for my pleasure, kingdom and righteousness on earth even in their various work places and fields." Then God showed me what He meant when He portrayed to me the Elijah story and the 7000 reserved.

While Elijah was caught up in self deceit uttering, "only I remain of the prophets of the Lord", God was quick to shut him off so he would not be deceived any further or think too highly of himself. As such, God told him, "I have kept for myself 7000 prophets whose knees haven't worshipped Baal and whose mouths haven't kissed him."

Elijah must have been dazed. His mouth must have been suddenly sealed. That first confession of his must have been taken back. Imagine such a reply. God told him He had never lacked men and wouldn't lack men in simple words. As such, no man should boast who He is using or who is living his own purpose. One reason is because, he's not the only one. This is also a warning to those of you who have been sending threatening messages to God that you'll commit suicide and you'll wonder who God would use. You ought to desist from such now. Before you were born, God's will prospered and after you might have left, it'll still prosper. If you should ever desist from living out your calling or giving the wine you've been known for, God will raise other men to fill your gap. Did John not tell the Pharisees and Sadducees that God was able to raise up children from Abraham from stones (Matt.3:9). Jesus Himself told some envious people that if the people should keep shut, the stones would cry out. So, be warned.

When God told Elijah that He (singlehandedly by his unanimous decision) has reserved men who haven't knelt for Baal or kissed him, God was indirectly saying, "I have other men who haven't strayed or deviated from purpose or the calling and consecration on them." And, guess their number? An exceeding great army. So much that it totals 7000. Kai! They are not few people. They are a horde. Such a shocking number - 7000. One wouldn't have imagined such a number amidst the raging falling away of that day.

So, let every boat stop. God has called many and though the reply has always been, "few are chosen." This time around, God's reserve is bustling of vessels. As such, let us continue to make ourselves honourable vessels by purging ourselves of all things ignoble that we may find constant use always. I see an exceeding vast army of purposeful people being raised. They are those who won't be deterred or fall before the Baal of this world. They'll keep on representing Christ though not popular but hidden from all eyes.

PRAYER: When you number your workforce, may I be numbered.

RISING UP IS AN EXCEEDING VAST ARMY (A)! - The Essence & Value of Life Series 007

Read Ezekiel 37:1-10

Ezekiel 37:10, KJV

"So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army."

We don't sharpen a sword just to leave it in the scabbard. Nay! Just like I said yesterday, every resurrection, reviving and restoring is unto a purpose - that you may do what you've been afore doing - live in purpose. When Jesus heals Peter's mother-in-law, she immediately rises to minister to their need (Matt.8:14-15). I suspect that woman had been in that habit before. So, the reviving, resurrection and restoring of any human vessel from death or anything that is hindering his purposefulness is to an end that he might be useful again, give his ministration and live out his purpose once more.

Today, we have travelled and where have we travelled to? Ezekiel 37! That's the valley of dry bones. God takes Ezekiel for a view and then asks him if those bones could live. He gives an answer saying, "only Thou knows." He throws back the ball in God's court. Why would he do that? Humanly speaking and being in one's physical senses, one couldn't have agreed those bones could live. As in, these are numerous wasted bones. They are not only scattered but are as dry as the Egyptian bricks. No traces of life in them at all. If they were slain bodies that had not even decayed, probably Ezekiel could have seen a possibility in their living yet again. However, the Bible comments, "they were very dry" (v.2). Seeing all these, he concluded that, "only God would know." This shows the limitedness of man and the unlimitedness of God as we shall see.

However, God chooses to still flow through this same vessel that couldn't boldly register the possibility of those dry bones living again. He tells him to prophesy His sovereign message to them - that dry bones will live again, be once more beautiful and presentable after He might have covered them with flesh, muscles and skin (v.6).

First of all, we're seeing again that undebatable truth that when the breath is lacking in any living thing, life ceases to be. As a matter of fact, the importance of the breath in any living thing hits a crescendo and height of heights when all these wasted bones are coupled together and covered but couldn't still live or take being (by exercising characteristics of a living thing) until God through the mouth of His prophet ordered the wind (significance of breath or spirit) to enter into them. So, we are seeing the foolishness that may be in giving the greatest treatment, attention and time to the human body. It is what will fall and get eaten by worms. Yet, a person's spirit may not be regenerated let alone his mind being constantly renewed with the Word to resemble Christ's so that he might live to give value and display character (morals) in his society. Your body is just a carcass. It would one day fall to the ground like those carcasses of bones. However, it is given you to contact this sense realm so that your spirit and your soul would find expressions. So, you ought not to be living from the body out but from the inside out. Your regenerated human spirit (downloading into your mind) ought to take the lead or give the instruction that your body would now be seen doing by everybody. Imagine if your spirit is regenerated and alive to pick what God would have you do per term. How could you miss your way or be caught in error or what would cause you or the society harm? Never!

Anyway, the man of God prophesies and God lives up to His previous confession. The bones (particular to each slain warrior) travels to find, join and form the original person it belongs to. Then, God lays flesh, muscle and skin on the bony structure. However, no life until it was gathered from the four winds. Until then, no sign or traces of life could be traced to all these slain yet dressed up warriors. Despite having been dressed, the importance of the breath proved itself because they neither could perform any human action let alone live for the purpose they were previously known for. Just then however, we have a record that "the breath came into them and they lived and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army." Standing upon their feet is an act consequent upon having received the breath just the same way Adam could blink and exercise other human rights when He received the breath of life from God.

What was shocking after the repair and the bringing back of these dead dry bones to usefulness is that they eventually numbered into an army or array of people and stood up as one. We could have been denied seeing this experience. We might have not experienced their vastness, resourcefulness and mightiness as an army if they were never treated or called back. But, thank God for His treat. The adjective "vast" describes them as a horde and also reveals their joint strength. A vast army would have a vast strength.

You see, that's what I'm saying, you can't underscore what would happen to you at your revival. You don't know your vastness and might yet until God grants you hope to do once more what you've afore done. That's when you'll see or taste your glory yet to come. Those of you who once lived in purpose but whose heads have been shaven, the Spirit has come to sweep and scoop you to your feet so that you will stand a vast army at your rising. You will be shocked also that you could stand up to outperform your beginning or deliver yet impactfully. Who knows that Samson could still stand "a vast army" - bringing down many at his death than he did during his early years of purpose? (Judges 16:30). People, I see a new day. A rising that will scare the enemy. A rising that'll make you yourself cry, weep and give glory to the Lord. Your rising is that of a "vast army" and an "exceeding vast army." It will strike fear in the devil who thought you have been ended. All demons sent to hamper you will run helter skelter but to no avail. Why? You have risen with no chain or bound. You're loosed and set free. You're declared righteous and whole again before the Father. You're justified and re-glorified. I see a vast army whose havoc would be deadlier than when he once lived. Hmmm, Satan fears the new thing you have risen to become but I praise this new thing. A vast army on his feet! One ready to charge and do as instructed. One ready to be motivated by the motivations of his Creator. One who won't back down until he has eaten God's will and finished it. One fully dressed and equipped to live and discharge purpose. An exceeding vast army!

PRAYER: Lord, I am revisited, re-empowered, re-engaged and redeployed. I am not useless but active and in the here and now.

YOUR TENDER BRANCH WILL NOT CEASE - The Essence & Value Of Life Series 006

Job 14:7, KJV

"For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease."

You're welcome to a new day. This new day brings with it a new opportunity and what God is saying is, "your tender branch will not cease."

It means many things. One, God is giving you the assurance of ever being present and productive still. When that place says, "your tender branch will not cease", it does emphatically and with all assurance that as long as you're still alive - taking being on the earth, what shall be consequent of your life is productivity. The fact that your tender branch will not cease. So, we'll always hear from you. So, we'll always see the product of your calling and purposeful living.

So far, we have seen what life should be spent on or given to. Meanwhile, today's ministration is targeting many who are down or cut down by some happenings and forces beyond them. It is appealing to those who have been broken and are in a state where they couldn't live life to the fullest or give the products of their calling anymore. Why? They are already suppressed. They therefore need help. They need a revival. They need to be awoken! What God is saying to you is that He'll recover you. The devil has made the horrible mistake of still letting you live. The fact that you still have the breath of life means you could still experience a bounce back and then a bounce back to a purposeful and productive life like before. You're just like a tree that is cut down but whose stump and root is still in the soil. It's just a matter of time, it will revive. The purpose for which God revives anyone is not for them to go on just being a matter - occupying space and exhibiting M-movement, R-respiration, N-nutrition, I-irritation or sensibility, G-growth, E-excretion, R-reproduction, D- death (one day), A-adaptability and then C-competition which are all the characteristics of living things. No! Anybody that died that was resurrected in the Bible was resurrected for a purpose and to the intent that they'll live on to fulfill the mandate on them. God doesn't give life or spare life or reserve it for purposelessness. Rather, the major reason for such is to live life and continue to use it to make impact like before and better than before. Resurrection of life or revival of life is to live life more abundantly again in purpose. So, for those of you who have been pressed down hitherto, depressed, discouraged or hindered till now, an assistance will come your way. In any form you need encouragement, God shall support you and you shall be revived to bring forth new branches. If you need men to come your way to raise you up, God is supplying such helper.

Note what you'll bring forth. It's a new branch. As we know, when a tree is cut off, it has no branches or leaves any longer for that is severed from the stump. Such tree would only be left with a stump and the roots in the soil. But after awhile, when it begins to sprout up, it will bring forth new branches that'll bring forth new leaves. Consequently also, there will be new fruits. New wine shall come from you. That's what the Lord is saying. At this your restoration this morning, you will live purpose like you used to live once more but in newness of life.

We saw you yesterday, we'll see you today and contact you tomorrow as well. The declaration of the Lord is that, "your tender branch will not cease." It doesn't matter how many people are fighting you to shut down, close up or shut off. You will inherit all of them. They'll fall for your sake. As for you, we'll keep seeing you and your handiwork. The enemy might delay its bubbling or manifesting but it will sure sprout out in newness. Put this word of faith in your mouth. Let it become your confession. Say, "my tender branch will not cease. I shall bring forth new branches and new wine. I occur and I will reoccur. Always!"

PRAYER: Thank you Lord for the word of faith and declarations that have become flesh.

BEWARE OF DISTRACTION AND THE TEMPTATION WITH ALL THESE THINGS - The Essence & Value Of Life Series 005

Matthew 4:8-9, KJV

"8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me."

Satan thinks someway. He believes every man has his price and he could be bought. If not, Satan wouldn't have told Jesus to bow down to him in exchange for, "all these things." He speaks assuredly when he says, "and all these things will I give you if you'll fall down and worship me." He's no longer different from a man who forces his will on a lady by making it a matter of conditional compulsion to her. "See, if you give me sex, (then he flashes some cash before her), I'll give you this money." That's seeking to take advantage of another's need and that's what the devil does to Jesus. Watch him. He comes around at the moment of your need, looseness and desperation.

Ahead of time in the course of this series, we saw the appearance of the phrase, "all these things" in Matthew 6:33. The Bible says, "but seek you first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you." Why does "all these things" keep appearing? Does it mean "all these things" is very important as well with its own usefulness that should be understood? Obviously yes! "All these things" includes riches, fame, power and everything possible that an average human being takes thought for. We care for food, raiment and even shelter. All the cheating, killing, embezzlement and injustice are to possess or manage all those three basic needs. Those three basic needs are therefore all part of "all these things." We want to be famous, being the rave of town, the one talked about in the media and yet the gossip of all people. That's also part of "all these things." "All these things" is very wide in its sense. When the tempter came to Jesus during this third temptation, he gave all diligence to show Jesus the kingdoms of the world and its glory thereof. If you say there's nothing in this world, you're probably joking. Many things, many good things, many jolly and beautiful things are in this world. The Bible says, "and when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof...(Genesis 3:6, KJV). That's Eve falling for "all these things" but before she did, she saw that "all these things" was pleasant to the eyes. It brought to her a kind of mouth and mind watery pleasure merely gazing at it. You just want to crave after it and have it. So, "all these things" could be attractive and are. Only that a Christian should esteem them all as vanity through discipline, self control and the keeping of one's eyes on the prize or God's promises.

I John 2:16 - 17, KJV

"16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever."

Delightful things which ranges from technology and invention, food, wine, sex etc form part of "all these things" too. The devil ensured he flashed all these before Jesus if these could get Him. He ensured he displayed the best of the best. He must have displayed the oil fields of the Arabs and the gold mine of Africa to Jesus. He wanted Him to covet them and fall for them. As such, he showed Him all in its details and rare description but with one demand, "if you'll fall down and worship me."

Why is the devil seeking worship like the kings of the world would lord it over others? He wants to substitute God. The devil from the onset has been seeking to act as a substitute to God. Wherever you see a false religion, idol worshipping etc, that is the devil at work receiving the worship of men meant for God. He keeps establishing himself as a counterfeit way or solution provider. So, he seeks having all that accrued to him. So far so good, the devil has been able to convert a lot of people to bowing down to him in worship and constant and counter service to God.

Ensure you do not pursue after all these things to the loss of your soul. It is still, "what shall a man profit if he gains the whole world and loses his soul" (Matt. 16:26).

Many people there be who are promised the rewards of riches, fame and power if they'll join a cult and serve the devil. They therefore forfeit their souls and freedom for, "all these things." If all these things of the world aren't pleasurable to the senses with promises of some satisfaction, they shouldn't have compromised. Neither should Eve have fallen also. God who created us didn't mean we wouldn't need "all these things". He only meant we shouldn't serve it, worry or become greedy after it (Matt.6:25-33). Rather, all these things were meant to serve and follow us after we might have given our lives to the pursuit of purpose and the essence of life first of all. The order is, "but seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things (that the world is dying for) will be added unto you." You'll naturally attract it if you live to fulfill your passion, obsession, calling and purpose first of all. Mind that tail end expression, "all these things will BE ADDED UNTO YOU." You're almost not working for it! It will come or follow as a consequence of a purposeful living in pattern with God's kingdom and the spread of His righteousness where He has placed you to rule, dominate and cultivate.

So, never believe that God doesn't have plans for you to prosper. That'll contradict III John 2. He does as He who created, "all these things." He only wants us to be properly prospered by them. He wants us know their uses and not esteem them above Him or our personal calling that could bring about their attraction as a reward. If we get this, we'll see that God's thought towards us is of good and not of evil still. Know this and know peace.

PRAYER: Lord, I am weaned from the vain, greedy and hurtful pursuit of "all these things." I pursue my purpose and the essence of my living which is able to deliver to me, "all these things."

THE CHURCH AND THE ESSENCE OF LIFE - The Essence & Value Of Life Series 004

Read Judges 15:4-7

Judges 15:4, KJV

"And Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took firebrands, and turned tail to tail, and put a firebrand in the midst between two tails."

The church has a responsibility - to be the pillar and ground of the truth (I Tim. 3:15). The church is meant to be school. If people don't know the truth but ever made it to the church or contact a Christian, they ought know the truth and be freed by having learnt how life should be lived. Ask yourself, "how should life be lived? On what should life be spent?" Then, pursue same once you find answers. However, when the purpose of a thing is not known, it is often abused or misused as over time proven by individuals. The church could become a warehouse if we don't take heed. In many places, that's what the church is. It's like a mortuary bearing and housing many dead people who come to church for other reasons. The church has stopped spreading the kingdom and His righteousness actively and that's because the members are not taught how to do so wherever they go. Nowadays, we have come to comfort and we are consoled. We are grateful our world is civilized with modern gadgets. We thought that's the progress. That's not the kind of progress God is looking for solely (though we should be comfortable). As far as God is concerned, envy, jealousy, bitterness, strife, murder, selfishness etc still pervade the world. Even if we're boasting of modernity, yet these ancient spirits are still following, ruling and breathing through men. As such, we can't come to perpetual tranquility in our world.

In today's reading, Samson in his revenge cycle against the Philistines acquire foxes in a good number, tied them together in pairs, lit and fasten a torch to each pair and releases them into the farms of the Philistines. How he did it, I don't know but the principle and process could be duplicated by the church and responsible individuals. The church is meant to learn from Samson. We are not to trap people in our pews and never release them to have impacts in their world or fulfill the intents in the heart of God for each of them. We don't manifest in church; we manifest without. It's because this has not been well taught that's making every church goer and member seek crazily how to become a pastor. Everybody is now rushing and grappling for the mic which is unavailable and scanty when there are many mountains to conquer outside there in Sports, Arts/Entertainment, Education, Business, Politics etc. But everyone want to mount the podium because the pastor has become their only star and hero. Aspiration has therefore died in them. Yet, some of these people could become inventors, scientists, mighty business tycoons and great sportsmen if they'll be told that the earnest expectation of the creature waits for their manifestation where God has ordained it (which will be mostly not inside the church). Whosoever you become that's not influencing your world or giving you a platform to doing so should be reconsidered. Imagine a Christian becoming a model or Miss World and she were asked to talk. She could use that opportunity to spread the kingdom values and beliefs without needing to quote even one Bible verse. All she needs is to invade and infiltrate them with the gospel without their knowing what they are hearing or believing. She could address the people there that she's still a virgin, not addicted to drugs, obedient to parents, hardworking and virtuous. The youths will likely believe in such a national or international figure than wanting to believe someone who's saying it who has no work to back it up or whom they don't see as heroic enough to convince them.

People are meant to be trained on and about their callings in church but released to have impact on their world in that area. Pastors should stop housing people in churches for long hours that doesn't add necessarily to the fulfilment of people's destinies and spread of the kingdom. Just like the foxes bring untold destruction to the farms they contacted, so should a Christian have effect and impact in his or her world so much more that people would ask like the Philistines did, "who did this?" But since our impact is not being felt, nobody ever asks who did this? Everything just remain normal and so no persecution follows us for having lived the kingdom and God's righteousness. Many Christians are not taking heed any longer to how they live and that's because that consciousness on seeking the kingdom isn't in them. Christians could be one of the careless people living in the modern secular world. They're easily convinced to become a free thinker and spare anyone to act according to his choices without affirming what their revelation of life should be as revealed by the author of life in the Bible. If all that ministers care for is to have such huge members that they could milk or fleece and not such that they'll coach on what is the essence and value of life, then the church is a failure. Often time, you'll see many churches slide into the pursuit of "all these things" that should have been added to them if they sought God's kingdom and His righteousness. So, no advancement of the kingdom in the work places. No advancement of God's righteousness - values, beliefs, practices and lifestyle. This way, our world remains unchanged and unimpacted. However, we should come off it. Our foxes should be well trained by our ministers and told their purposes of release to the outside world. We are meant to become the conscience of the world and the light by which they live. We are meant to become the standard by which they judge themselves even in the absence of their knowledge of the Bible. Your going to church is for such equipping. It is not to keep you in church and only make you attend church services and contribute to the church's statistics and offering bag. No! There's a cause for your being caught and subsequently sent to go into all the world! It's to carry the torch (God's kingdom and righteousness) with you. To go into your world and destroy the works of the devil. You're that ambassador of Christ.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to be an effective Christian and ambassador. Prominence: national and international influences are mine and I shall have this platform for you.

FOR AFTER ALL THESE THINGS DO THE GENTILES SEEK - The Essence & Value Of Life Series 003

Matthew 6:31, KJV

"31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things."

While what we shall eat, what we shall drink and wherewithal we shall be clothed creates anxiety and greediness in the nations of the world, God is saying we should be known for a different life and pursuit.

A Gentile is any person or nation of people that's not a Jew. We know that in Christ, there's no longer Jew or Gentile (when we are born again) - I Cor. 12:13. Such traditional wall has been collapsed, never to be rebuilt any longer. However, Jesus says, "for after these ephemerals do the Gentiles pursue after." The Gentiles here at the time of utterance obviously refer to non - Jews. However, it does well to refer to unbelievers and its world who don't have this light and truth to walk therein. Jesus says, "they can't but worry and exercise utmost pursuit and priority only for riches and what will sustain their bodies." They have erroneously believed that life in itself is all about what they could gain from it. This is why many evils are ranging in our world. You can't convince a fellow not to defraud for gain's sake if he is driven after "all these things." "All these things" dictate what the philosophy of people are based on in the work place. It is very easy to identify a man solely working for money or gains. Compromising won't be a taboo to him and he won't mind as long as it promises a reward. As such, God is calling us away from the sole and towering pursuit of "all these things" to the singular pursuit of purpose that could give "all these things." We know that pursuing purpose doesn't mean you wouldn't eat, drink, clothe yourself or own properties . However, that ain't what you're crazy about. It only means you have your priority reordered. You know that your life as a gift from God was not given you solely to come here to eat, drink, dine and while away time. You sure know that you have an essence and tangibility that towers above taking being with anything and everything that life could avail you in its riches and goods. Ask inventors who became real time billionaire and they'd told you that it was purpose and fulfilment of their calling which they sensed and pursued that launched them into fame and success by bringing to the world the discoveries and inventions in their hearts; and not gain that started or formed the basis of their enterprises. They rather wanted to meet needs. So, they went to work. At the end, the money they couldn't finish spending pours in.

Jesus not only teaches us what to do but exemplifies it Himself. During His temptation, the tempter had told him to turn a stone to bread. Jesus' reply is, "man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God" (Matt.4:4). That tells you what His priority is. It tells you Jesus cherishes the higher life and principles wherever He finds it. Jesus esteems daily instructions proceeding from revelation or the mouth of God than being caught up in debased, erratic living that doesn't give glory to God (at that time). He is not a For Food Only (F.F.O) person. His life transcends meat into the substantial that's tied to the kingdom and the living out of it.

God is asking you, "are you pursuing after "these things" as a Christian like the Gentiles are doing or you've been cured to see the need to give your life to a higher cause and purpose - God's Kingdom and His righteousness." Prioritizing God's kingdom and His righteousness over "all these things" doesn't mean becoming a pastor if you aren't called to be one. You don't need to become a minister of God before you seek God's kingdom and His righteousness. Don't be confused. You even don't need to be a worker in church! Yet, you can spread God's values without (outside the church). And as a matter of fact, we're called to spread it without. Those who are cured don't need a doctor. Isn't it? If you have discovered your calling or the purpose to live for, exhibiting daily the life and values of Christ to impact people would be living for the King and His Kingdom. That's when you'll be deemed to be seeking after God's righteousness. He is not seeking after God's righteousness neither is he spreading it a policeman who takes bribe, a teacher who indulges student in cheating and a business man who dupes others for gain. That is not living for the kingdom. That is not spreading God's righteousness. That is living for other things, for self, egocentrism and putting of oneself forward always - thinking "what can I gain from here?" Nobody thinks that way who fulfills his calling. What is right in that? All those will be wrong values. As we know, even our laws are against the exercise of those all. It means we know what is right even if we are not upholding it as stated in our law or constitution. When you seek God's kingdom and His righteousness, you prioritize living for God and living out His values of kindness, fairness, mercy, equity, honesty etc wherever you find yourself. You let the character of life rule you and rule your world. This way, you'll spread the knowledge of God's Kingdom and His righteousness even amidst the heathen. It is not God's will to take you out of the secular world where you live or work. It's rather His will to make you an instrument of change there. As you do this, you'll obviously become a city set on a hill that can't be hidden. Through you, men shall come to the knowledge of Christ and salvation by your modeling of how life should be lived, what it should be lived to possess or lived to spread. I pray for you, you will understand.

PRAYER: Lord, I will understand. I make the kingdom and its lifestyle my life. May I live above the Gentile's revelation of life.

AND LIFE BEGINS BY THE BREATH! - The Essence & Value Of Life Series 002

Genesis 2:7, KJV

"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."

Yesterday, I made a point on what life's greatest opportunity was. Obviously, it is being alive. It is when one is alive that any other opportunity could be availed one. At death, one is shut from all opportunities. If one will ever be qualified again for any, he or she will require a resurrection back to life. And as we know, that is an exception. The dead (in the state of still being dead) don't marry or pursue any ambition except he yet lives again (and becomes a living soul)

Today, I want to talk about the breath of life that causes life to begin. But for the breath, there'd be no life and no human would have been able to lift a hand or blink a eye. We have a strong testimony of Adam being lifeless at creation. When he was formed, he had the body but Adam had no life in it. Body of mud!The body could therefore do nothing because it had not been awoken to live and exercise the potentials or characteristics of any living thing. After forming Adam from the mud, God consequently breathed into him. What was released into him is what the Bible calls, "the breath of life." This breath of life is wind that runs through Adam and as a supernatural ingredient of God, it makes impact that soon reflect upon contact. It could have gone into the brain of Adam to wake him up to reality and existence but irrespective of where it went, even if it had to circulate the whole body before revival of the body lying down helpless was functional, one thing is sure, Adam lived and became a living soul at that instance . What a joy that God's handiwork eventually turns out the way He had wanted.

Mark the phrase, "living soul." A living soul is someone with life in him as such could take life or being. Until he became a living soul, he was helpless. He couldn't rise, talk, stand or walk. So, what would be the intent for which God gave Adam His precious gift - the breath. It is to live and take being on earth. However, we ought qualify it that the breath in our nostrils or the spirit in us which makes us fully functional as humans is the most important ingredient that makes us who we are. That is life's greatest opportunity or asset to us. That is what the evil one wants to cut short so that you'll not be able to fulfill your purpose in the time you have to live. Life given you is therefore an opportunity to live and exercise towards destiny or why God had created you. We sure know that being a living thing, you can't but eat, drink and take pleasure in life. However, you weren't created to indulge or live in this as your sole purpose. They were only meant to be your survival and coping tools on daily basis as you go about the fulfilment of your purpose. Food is only meant to strengthen your frame for what you should be living for and so should other things fulfill their temporal needs in your life. Car, house, money should only aid your destiny fulfilment. They are only your tools not purpose itself. Imagine if God never breathed into Adam. What would he have been? Just a piece of art or body lying down on the floor with back to the ground. He would have no right, no will and no being to take. He would be useless and could a useless person exercise himself towards any purpose? If you ever moulded a thing with clay, you'll observe it could resemble your intent i.e a bird. However, it will lack one ability and that's to fly. That's the ability Adam receives when breath came into him. He could therefore exercise himself towards any work or activity in his daily living. If he were not a living soul, do you think he would serve the purpose of naming the animals or tilling the ground. God wouldn't have given him that. The dead don't understand instructions you know. A dead man can't interact and interface with the earth and his world in such a manner. So, God gave life so that man may use life to carry out a part of His own business in the sovereign will that He had afore known. The Bible says, "according to the purpose of God who works all things after the counsel of His will" (Eph. 1:11). Your creation is not to make you a non-entity on the earth but rather it's a demand for you to add your reason for existence into the human world. God has a plan and an intent to fulfill. He beats everything and aligns all things after that overall purpose. The breath of life is your opportunity to do so - to make life count.

Like the church was never functional, alive or empowered to go about ministering until the rushing mighty wind of the Holy Spirit descended on them in Acts 2, a human without the life would feel that helpless. You might need to visit the mortuary to see the truth in that. They call such body without life corpses. They are as good as useless. However, if in the process of refrigerating or burying them, one of those bodies should sneeze or cough, immediately it'll be separated from the corpses. That's because life has returned into one and according to the formula we have at hand from God to work with, "the living should not be found amidst the dead" (Lk.24:5). He must sure be separated. So, if there's anything to thank God for, it is life. Life here is that you still have the breath or spirit that causes you to go here and there and do this and that. Once it snaps, one becomes incapable no matter how willing he might have been to live. So, what makes this body of ours very essential is the fuel, the invisible ingredient called, "breath of life" that runs it. If not, we are earth, mere dust. We know the fate that awaits us - to go back to dust. As such, let's hurry to make impact with this one in a lifetime opportunity called life or breath of life that God has given us. Talking of David in Acts 13:36, the Bible says, "For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption."

All of us have our batches like products turned out from factories. The batch a father came with isn't the batch his son came with. By the time one generation goes, you'd see another generation come. However, before you do, may you have the testimony of having served God's will or pleasure or purpose in your own set, time, batch or generation. After that, may you be regarded to have slept also - for only the dead in Christ do sleep or fall asleep. Those are the dead who have the hope of resurrecting at the hearing of the trump of God. May you be counted worthy. So, before you'll know rottenness, decay, decomposition or corruption like David's body experienced, what will you use your life to do that'll be indelible after you? As you go to work today, ask yourself if you're living for the King and His kingdom (Matt.6:33). Query yourself, if you're seeking after His righteousness or values, to spread it and make your world better by it where you're placed. If God's kingdom and His righteousness hasn't become your crescendo or meat where you are as to thirst after it to do, forget it, you'll live carelessly, waste influence, opportunity and even the breath in you. As far as God is concerned, where you work may be your own garden which God has given you to till especially if it comes by your discovery that you're where God would have you be. Will you till it in your time?

PRAYER: Lord, help me not to waste life. Open my understanding to my fulfilment of purpose. May the kingdom and His righteousness be my meat and satisfaction to discharge and live out.

LIFE'S GREATEST OPPORTUNITY - The Essence & Value Of Life Series 001

Genesis 2:7, KJV

What is life's greatest opportunity? Do you have any idea what that is? Pause, take a time to give an answer.

Is it being rich, white, gainfully employed, married, healthy or being availed the greatest national citizenship on earth? Is it even being abroad? Obviously, all these don't measure up to what life's greatest opportunity is. Then, what is it or what could it be?

You see, life's greatest opportunity is life itself. It is that you have life and you can live and so express yourself as a living soul. I don't care what you have lost or missed, if you still have life, all could still be recovered. If you go bankrupt, divorce (though God hates it), loses all your children (like Job in the Bible), get jailed with all hope of recovery lost etc, you sure could recover from all these if you still have life. Anything can happen to beat your imagination you know. Miracles happen but to the living. However, no one has the hope of recovery if he's dead. Only the living has the hope of recovery. That's why life's greatest opportunity is life. The Bible acknowledges that when it says in Job 14:7 - 9 that, "7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. 8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground; 9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant."

Did you read that? The root of a tree still being in the ground suggests its still being alive - still breathing and taking life from mother earth. Even if it loses all its branches (including its fruits), it sure still has an opportunity of sprouting back and that'll be because it has not been uprooted and denied life itself. As such, at the slightest opportunity of sprouting or springing back which comes at the availability of water, it shall sprout up again. That's why that place says, "at the scent of water, that left stump shall sprout back again." Metaphorically, that's a human it's talking about. The old stump in the ground is you and I who might come to the point of extinction yet continues to exist after losing all. God is saying irrespective of what has scarred, scratched, or screeched us, we can get healed from it all as long as the breath of life is still in us to live. Opportunities are never denied the living that still lives. Only the dead is that gate shut at.

No dead has a second chance. Only the living does. Life is therefore the greatest opportunity. It's when you have life you could say you want to go to school, build a mansion, get married or father a child. It is life that you have or the breath of life in you that avails you all those. Without life, you'd be powerless to do any running around. Your fate would have been sealed for recovery. However, thank God who has breathed into our nostrils the breath of life and had made us all living souls that we may be able to live, take being and act out His pleasure on the earth. As such, life itself becomes the greatest asset of any man or woman. The office he's occupying isn't his greatest asset (even if he's the president); his race isn't and his status is not at all. What avails him all these things (that men are dying and thronging for) is what is important and that is LIFE itself. The dead can't contest for an election. That's why contesting politicians and rivals in general are quick in killing one another. They'll call it the game to play. They do so because they themselves don't know the value and essence of the human life but feel threatened by someone still living. If the sacredness and importance of the human life should hit them, they'd known that as the greatest asset in the world, nobody ought tamper with it but rather protect it. Life is what any human being should fear to lose in life without hope of its security (a topic for another day). If you see a nation that doesn't legislate laws to protect the lives of her citizens, that country is poor and irresponsible. I don't care what laws are legislated to protect: lands, houses, businesses, people's liberty, personal happiness, choice etc but if there's no strong law protecting the human life and presenting it clearly as astoundingly invaluable, you'd seen all kind of barbaric acts done at the human life. Those people had lived being the basest of humans. Life is the greatest opportunity. God has given you life to become what you're pursuing now or whatsoever you want to become. Without life, you couldn't be thinking in that direction your mind has been going let alone get it executed. What an importance life carries. It's the greatest human asset - not riches please.

I therefore pray for you that while you're alive, you'll understand this and lend your life only to what it could really compensate for - purpose. Nothing else could compensate for life or the breath of life in you except you discover your God given purpose or calling and live that solely. That's why Jesus says, "is life not more than meat (food) and the body more than raiment (clothing) or the ephemerals (which many are longing and thronging for in our world) - Matthew 6:25. Life is beyond what to eat, where to sleep or what to wear. After these the Gentiles and the unpurposeful rush but let the order be changed for you. Pursue purpose!

PRAYER: Thanks for enlightening me on life's greatest opportunity. May I live life to the fullest by fulfilling purpose.

THOSE WHO ARE GROUNDED AND ARE NOW IN THE FISH'S BELLY - Loosed For Purpose Series 008

Jonah 2:1-2, KJV

"1 Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly, 2 And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice."

The will of God is one of the greatest forces on earth. The will of God can carry you (when you're in obedience) or crush you (when you're in rebellion to it). It will carry you when you discover what God wants you to do and you make yourself available for that. You'll discover a power at work unimaginably helping you and giving you great success. I don't care how many men stand up against you; they'll all be fated to fall for your sake. That's because God will arise to fight anyone who fights His will which you're obeying.

However, if you're running a race contrary to God's will, that violated will or purpose of God can put you in a dead end or endanger you. That's why Jonah had to be swallowed up. Instead of him being a hind let loose - a commissioned and backed up servant of the Lord on a smooth journey to fulfilling God's assignment, he was brought to a halt and grounded. His being swallowed and held by the fish was to lead to a remedial act that we eventually saw. Jonah could have gone all the way to preach in Nineveh and never be held three days and three nights in the belly of the fish. However, when you're obstinate - seeking to perpetuate your will and run your own errand, you should expect to meet God in front. As such, he who ought to live loosed may be bound and held down: like Jonah was in the belly of the fish.

Years ago, 2016 or early 2017 it should be God's people. I met the founder of Evangel Publishing Firm, Nigeria. I was a Corp Member serving my fatherland in far away Katsina State but I had learnt the trade of selling books of all sorts from an Igbo man I acquainted myself with in Katsina camp who sells books to corp members. As such, he took me to Kaduna to learn how purchases are done. When I was launching out myself and I had to go; the man met me himself and expounded to me the vision of the institution telling me how it all began. He had told me he had refused God's persistent call to start a publishing and book firm that'll promote the gospel in core North because he saw no reason for that. More so, his food/provision business was doing well. He was transporting provision i.e gari etc from the East to the North to trade. He didn't hearken to God until God broke down that other business - putting the plough on his neck. Despite many persecutions and threats, he's standing for the Lord in a harsh territory by making materials available for the gospel now. However, he didn't start too well with God. God had to first hold him down. God had to first arrest him. So, on occasions, there are those that ought to be loosed to fulfill destiny that'll first of all be grounded before being loosed and that's because they're sold to their own will.

If you're proving unbendable, it is love you have received from God if He insists on you by seeking to persuade you out of your choice by giving you signs that'll convince you out of same. As such, we recognize there are those who ought to be loosed like the hind so they can deliver what they have brought to the earth as their own value who may not be progressing because they aren't cooperating with God and aligning with what He really has for them. Example is Brother Preacher Jonah of today. He was in the fish's belly three days and nights for disobedience. Until he repented, he was not set loosed or vomited to run and pursue the errand afore committed into his hands. Don't be suddenly tied or held down because of disobedience that's in your life that could disqualify you. Tomorrow, I shall show you someone who's loosed towards fulfilling purpose but whose disobedience and an unsettled act in his life was almost binding and holding down also. Be obedient and you shall know smooth journey.

PRAYER: Father, help me to surrender my will to your will. I shall not be grounded or swallowed up and brought to a halt instead of being on the loose for Jesus.

THEY HAVE GONE TO DOTHAN - Loosed For Purpose Series 007

Genesis 37:15, 17, KJV

"15 And a certain man found him, and, behold, he was wandering in the field: and the man asked him, saying, What seekest thou? 17 And the man said, They are departed hence; for I heard them say, Let us go to Dothan. And Joseph went after his brethren, and found them in Dothan."

You will be saved from wandering about and wasting useful time that should count for you. A hand will point to where destiny will happen for you. God is interested in saving your youth. As such, He'll put materials, persons, institutions and even information where you utmostly need them in order to direct you after your objective in this life while saving your time.

Jacob sends Joseph on the errand of checking on his brethren and bringing back report to him. Joseph would have wasted much time wandering here and there looking for them if not for the timely appearance of a stranger on the scene who asked him what he was looking for and gave him answer on where they had gone. In his word, he says, " they have departed hence, for I heard them say, let us go to Dothan..." Yet, Joseph keeps merrygorounding around in Sheckem.

Joseph has an address at hand. It is for Sheckem but relocation and change of a sort had happened without his knowledge. Yet, he needs to connect with his pursuit - his brothers. How will this be possible if not for the sight and voice that appears to interrogate him on what he looks for and to deliver same solution to him?

The date, encounter and meet you're planning for will happen in Dothan. It has been shifted and rescheduled there yet God is still committed to taking you there. At every critical juncture, you'll always encounter those who'll serve as signpost to directing you for safe arrival to your destination. In tracing the biography of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God through a biographical movie of his that I had watched; it was told how as a young chap he departed in search of his parents in the farm. Yet, he didn't know where specifically. He could have sincerely gotten lost in the jungle. By divine providence however, a strange dog guided him to where they were. The parents themselves were afraid and also shocked receiving this august visitor who they couldn't trace how he made such a journey to the farm he had never been before. However, he tells his story and his parents see a divine hand supervising the events around his life. Even when they requested to see the strange dog, it was nowhere to be found anymore. To an extent, his parents believed that was not an accidental save but something supernatural helping him out and guiding him on his journey.

The same happened to Joseph here. Don't forget that his time nears when he must be sent ahead of his brothers into Egypt. His ride in the Ishmeelites who'll take him there awaits him. He must not miss them. So, God moves his father to send him on that errand like Jesse was moved to commission and deploy David to the battle field (as we saw yesterday). The answer like David rightly gave was, "is there not a cause?" There's a reason for such deployment. The journey of Joseph to Egypt might not have been possible if he never made it to Dothan but supernaturally to me, God set a landmark signpost to redirect him non stop to Dothan where he'll be thrown in a well and then sold off - that the dreams of destiny he had had might come to pass one day.

Your ride is here and if it is, nothing shall stop you from taking it. God will put provision and guided hands on your path to guide you on. Until you get to where you'll board the next transport, you'll keep meeting, hearing and seeing a presence saying, "they have gone to Dothan, for I heard them say so." You won't be stranded in Sheckem. What you're looking for is rightly what you'll see. If it is still in your front, God will sponsor you on until you make arrival and meet with destiny. Your years, life and time shall be saved. God will put for you in different places those who'll hasten your steps to destiny. You won't spend your days on a job and in an institution where destiny won't happen for you when there's Dothan in front of you. Providence will make men appear for you that weren't there before. They'll be so well sited that it's when you need help they'll pop up. They'll look like they've been programmed, planned and planted to emerge from the belly of the morning or day to help you that rightly. This timely provision includes angels who will make debut appearances for you when you need a straightaway help to find the way and connect with your goal. Did you not read, "on their hands they'll bear you up lest you dash your foot on a stone" (Psalm 91:12). You'll be saved from fallen down; you'll be saved from all embarrassments. It might have been planned to happen but you'll always witness a great save for your destiny fulfilment purpose. Your time is in God's hands and it shall not be wasted.

PRAYER. I shall be sponsored on and on by the invisible hand of God until I arrive at destination. I shall go on every journey and become everything in God's mind.

I Samuel 17:20, KJV

"And David rose up early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper, and took, and went, as Jesse had commanded him; and he came to the trench, as the host was going forth to the fight, and shouted for the battle."

Say with me, "posting letter is out!" Repeat it like five times. Then, go ahead and burst into laughter.

Listen, posting letter is out. You have been DEPLOYED! The General has given the go ahead for you to proceed after much wait. You shall no longer be landlocked here but you'll be brought into national attention and recognition. Where you are is too small for you. It's not an enough room. God knows as the One who gives man enough room. He can take you to Rehoboth and that's where your posting letter is designated for. I bear good news, you've been DEPLOYED and it is to a good end.

David, the shepherd could have remained a shepherd forever if his posting letter didn't come out rightly on time. From going back and forth from Saul and to tending the sheep of his father, David could just have remained in total obscurity without anyone ever tasting of the value, bravery, might, leadership skills etc that he carries. Thank God, the Almighty reached for him. He stretched out his arm and drew him out of per time obscurity and the land of no fruit. God closed a chapter of obscurity in his life and made him a national hero. I'm seeing you at the State House. You have something to do there. The King will soon owe you gratitude. Yes, so shall it be.

For forty days and forty nights, things are at a stand still at the battle front. No one ever dare proceed to take the Goliath Challenge. At such a time that Israel has been defeated at heart for the fear of the enemy, God raises a rod - it buds rightly and its branch extends to the battle field. God whispers to Jesse and Jesse for a reason he might not be able to verbalize properly sent David to the battle field to check on the welfare of his brethren. Who does that? You gave children away as soldiers, should you not know they have signed their deaths? Why should you yet send another who should dwell safely with you to go and check on the welfare of such who should live in no fear of harm or death? Things seem not to be adding up but it all makes sense to God. David has been deployed by an invisible hand to take away the shame that Goliath the uncircumcised Philistine has brought on God's people and God Himself.

We know the rest as it is history. Without David's word arriving first, without his season having opened up first of all, He could not have been remembered. But when remembrance came, he was rightly and immediately deployed to the place where he should be exalted, becoming the obsession of everyone even to the enquiring of the king when he says, "whose son is this youth?" David enters immediately into the annals of national records. Musicians of his day immediately rolled out albums singing, "Saul has killed his thousands but David has killed his ten thousands" (I Sam.18:7).

Today, you shall be called to where the carcass is gathered for you. Today, you'll experience destiny meet. You'll go on an errand that'll be a link to the beginning of your destiny manifestation. A hand will point to you where destiny is slated to happen for you. You shall not be late. You'll be on time and so collide with destiny and climb up irrevocably through that open door to become all in God's mind for you. Your journey has begun! Believe!

PRAYER: Father, my journey has begun. I ask for a destiny meet - the intent of every deployment letter.

LOOSED AND RECOVERED TO REIGN - Loosed For Purpose Series 005

Psalms 105:20-22, KJV

"20 The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free. 21 He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance: 22 To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom."

I told you in yesterday devotional why the Lord looses people from sin or obscurity. He doesn't loose them so that they'll give their lives to the pursuit of material things and what passes away soonest. God doesn't loose people so that they'll become materialistic, sensual and narcissistic - not willing to share, lose or give themselves as ministration to others. God is not loosing people from prison houses and oppression of hell those who'll love their lives more than purpose. He's not freeing into liberty and sonship manifestation those who'll say, "thank God I escaped and was recovered. Now is the time to bury my head and hide. No! He's not raising such bunch of cowards who wouldn't be able to advocate for justice in the society again. He's raising those who'll rather take their lives in their hands and speak up for what is right; matching on to dare the devil and crusade against him in Commerce/Business, Arts/Entertainment, Politics/Government, Education etc.

He rather looses men from death, distraction, evil, sickness, all hindrances and encumbrances so that they would live out their destiny. This is the sole purpose of "loose him and let him go." He doesn't loose into vanity or nothingness. Loose him and let him go is to an intent and we shall see this intent once more in the life of Joseph - our admirable character of today.

Psalms 105:21-22 has spoken good of such purpose. When Pharaoh freed Joseph, he loosed him into what?

"21 He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance: 22 To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom."

Have you seen the intents for which God looses people from bonds? To deliver them generally into the destiny and the glory they're predestined for. When Joseph was loosed from the prison, he immediately was promoted into leadership. Pharaoh speaking says, "can we find a man like this in whom is the Spirit of God (Gen.41:48)?" To this end of having given exceptional solution on the way forward on the national frustration at hand, the king - Pharaoh promotes him into leadership to "head or oversee his house and govern his substance also. First of all, Pharaoh would suffer no personal loss for that. So, he sets witty Joseph over what is his. Further on, Joseph for his exceptional solution was promoted into second place after Pharaoh to hold sway over all other leaders and institutions in Egypt. While Pharaoh makes this clear, he says, "without Him no one shall lift hand or foot" (Gen.41:40-44). It means until Joseph blows the whistle, no one could run. What he says is what they'll do and that'll be final. He's the repository of knowledge that could be trusted to teach, mentor and model for others to follow. Summarily, Joseph was delivered from prison and brought to the palace to live out purpose and prediction. Don't forget his dreams of 13 years ago (Gen.37:7-9). Those dreams point to a future in leadership so much more that people shall bow - including his household to him.

Consequently, God loosed him and let him go that he might save many people alive in Israel by the reason of being loosed into the glory of his destiny (Gen.50:20). He himself hinted at this when his brethren asks for his forgiveness again. This is the bottom line of the great office he has come into. So, his being loosed from physical prison and obscurity therefore isn't to disservice him but to make him of service to Egypt as a nation and to Israel as a nation (by preserving them during those seven years of famine). Your being loosed and saved from the prison house called sin or from nothingness is for a purpose. It's so that you'll walk in the predictions that have ran ahead of you and live it out. You carry a prophecy even if you're unaware. The earnest expectation of the creature waits for the manifestation of the sons of God (Rom.8:19). May you deliver as one.

PRAYER: Lord, I understood why you set free from prison houses and nothingness. May I live up to those reasons and finish them all.

LOOSE HIM AND LET HIM GO: FOR WHAT INTENT DID JESUS SAY THIS? - Loosed For Purpose Series 004

John 11:43-44, KJV

"43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. 44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go."

What a popular and incredible story of the Bible we have at hand to start with this morning! Even your boy is familiar with the narration of events here. Jesus calls forth Lazarus from the dead and he hearkens. He rose to the voice of the Ressurection and the Life : Jesus Himself (John 11:25-26). However, he rose being fettered and being in bonds as grave clothes are all scattered over him according to the Jewish system of burial. These stripes or clothes by which he's bandaged therefore hinder his proper activity and activeness. Though he walks by himself yet he walks restrictedly. So, he needs to be freed. He needs to be put in a condition where he could use his arm, extend it to grab things freely and his legs for speedy race. For that purpose, Jesus gives an instruction that is humanly carried out. It is to loose him and let him go.

However, we ought to ask, "to go where?" To what end did Jesus call forth Lazarus from the dead and commanded that he be loosed to have unrestricted movement or be loosed to let go? It's to the end that he might continue to live and live purposefully. God didn't bring Lazarus back from the dead to be idle or live frivolously. What makes him Jesus' friend is what Jesus restores him unto to continue to do. And that is the living out of purpose. Listen to me, if you're redeemed from death, accident, food poisoning, difficult child labour etc, don't be deceived that your life from thence forth should be spent only on food, clothing and the ephemerals of this world. God spares us for more than this! Jesus says, "is life not more than meat (food) and the body more than raiment (clothing) - Matt.6:25? It means the purpose for which life was given each of us is to live life and use it to serve the will of God in our specific generation. David did (Acts 13:36). God doesn't give life or restore it to you again to be gallivanting, clubbing, fornicating and wining all around. Jesus Himself asked if the life given us at creation or restored to somebody like Lazarus isn't more important than giving it only to the pursuit of bread, clothes and all sorts of human comfort. You must reorder your priority and let your life be given to purpose - why you were created. So, this is the reason why Jesus commanded that Lazarus be loosed. It's so that he could live life and live it more abundantly. If he were not loosed, he'll still be tied up and restricted somewhere. He'll seek expression even of movement and it wouldn't be fully possible for him. Even in his face, he'd be blinded by those cloth pieces or napkin and so would have knocked himself on things all around. But he was loosed so he'll have vision and unrestricted choice to pursue his purpose and that's the purpose of any "loose him or her to go." It is not to go to commence living in sin but to glorify God with one's life. It's to transit you into purpose. Have you been delivered from death or spared to continue to live somewhere? Then, don't only live but go and live more abundantly (by pursuing and living out your purpose).

PRAYER: Wherever I've not fulfilled the reason for carrying the breath of life or my being loosed to let go, kindly grant me an open sight and reordering of my life.

THE KING SENT AND LOOSED HIM - Loosed For Purpose Series 003

Psalms 105:20, KJV

"The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free."

You're lucky. Yes, you are. Meanwhile, you ought ask why I said you were lucky. That's because it's HIM calling you. Who's the "Him" you might ask again? It is Jesus! Blind Bartimeaus was given no chance. As soon as he cried out for mercy, he was shut down by the crowd. However, the Master Himself called him to Himself. "And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee" (Mark 10:49, KJV). That was why I said you were lucky. Your matter has reached the headquarters and it's been attended to right away. So fortunate are you that the order given concerning you comes directly from the Master Himself. It isn't a disciple that Jesus sent to heal blind Bartimeaus or attend to him. Rather, He did Himself. Your vindication, justification, deliverance is from nowhere but from the King straightforward. The Psalmist captures this succinctly when He says, "1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth" (Psalms 121:1-2, KJV). Your help and the order for your release comes from none other but the King. It is coming from the Lord. Rejoice! He's the cure it all and the end of all your worries.

This reminds me of a time in time when a tribal warlord decreed that a servant be beheaded. At the point of action, the Emperor's messenger arrives demanding that the servant be retrieved to the capital. This is how a decree by a lesser authority is overtaken and overruled by the greater. This isn't different from the case study we have at hand today. Potiphar puts Joseph in ward and if ever Joseph would be saved, his salvation can't come from a lesser officer than Potiphar who had commanded to jail him. To that end, the Bible says, "the king sent and loosed him..." It has to be the King! Say, "my matter has gotten to heaven. I'm now in the King's hands." Shout aloud, "judgement is overruled by mercy for me! I am spared. Thank you Jesus."

This is why I started by saying you were lucky. Your matter reached the headquarters before it was ever sealed. His Royal Majesty, King of Kings and Lord of Lords is the One presiding over your matter now. He's taking it out of the jurisdiction of your oppressor and is advocating for your life by His blood as we speak. As such, Satan and his cohort have no choice but to hiss reluctantly and let you go. A greater authority has spoken and He must be obeyed. It is a King who has sent to loose you...not any other. No one dare trivialize with the King's order.

Who sent to free Joseph where the authority of Potiphar has sealed his fate? Pharaoh! Pharaoh is a king that potiphar dare not question. Pharaoh is a god in Egypt and as an absolute monarch. He is law and judge at the same time. He has given the decree, who will contest it? Likewise, God has sent to loose you and bring you out of many waters into His banqueting hall where His banner over you will be love (SOS 2:4). Who'll contest it? No one dare to but submit rather. Today, I want you to be confident that you will always fall into His hands. And as far as we have proven Him, He is merciful. After David's misbehaviour and sin, God gives him choices of his punishment. Out of three hot options - to be visited by famine for seven years; to be slaughtered by the enemy for three months or to fall by pestilence for three days, he was admonished to choose one. Knowing the mercy of God and how God's anger doesn't burn for long, He chooses to fall into God's hands. "And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man" (II Sam. 24:14). Though the judgement of pestilence burns against Israel that day very quickly yet the Lord stays His hands in mercy on David and the nation.

When you're in many waters, besetted and surrounded with no hope (but with thoughts that'll you'll never make it out let alone to the palace), be assured of falling into God's hands. He's your advocate. His eyes goes throughout the earth watching the righteous from the unrighteous. As such, He'll deliver you in six troubles. Even in seven, no harm shall come to you. Your case has been transferred. The King is calling for you and you can be sure what message His messenger has brought. It is to loose you and let you go. It is to free you and let you live. No one exercises this right in your life but God Himself. If it were man, his word could have been contested. However, it is God who has said, "loose him and let him go." So, men will surrender, situation will yield and Satan himself shall flee. "Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?" (Ecclesiastes 8:4, KJV). He has given the Word (of your freedom) and great is the company of those who publish it. Who are those publishers? They're the gospel preachers and oracles of the Lord. Therefore as one of the horde He has given this oracle of liberty to, I declare over you, "be loosed. If indeed you're in bonds somewhere anticipating deliverance from further agitations, be loosed. Let your chains fall off; let your bonds be broken. Be brought out to see the light of the day. Celebrate a new life in God's banqueting hall."

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the word of your power sent to loose me. Be it unto me according to Your word. Thank You for coming for me rightly.

YOUR WORD TOO WILL COME - Let Loose For Purpose Series 002

Psalms 105:17-20, KJV

"17 He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:18 Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:19 Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him. 20 The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free."

At 44, Bassirou Diomaye Faye was elected Senegal's new president just barely two weeks after his release from prison. As such, his story relates with Joseph's as he goes from prison to palace. This moment of historical victory came during the March 24th 2024 presidential election held in Senegal, West Africa where night turned into day for this fated politician who contested instead of Ousmane Sonko (the party founder and leader who was disqualified and imprisoned also due to some charges). As such, we can't deny that something unusual pinnacles itself over this just concluded election even as an opposition party beats the incumbent government hands down. What a democratic system conducted in all honesty that other world nations, especially the giant of Africa should learn from.

Today, the Lord has come with bags of words for somebody. You might have been in a strait - a house too narrow to turn to the left or right let alone accommodating you freely by availing you all your intentions and affections. Like Joseph and this political figure brought us, you might have been shut in darkness and left to count the ceiling in loneliness. You probably have no hope of salvation or any form of deliverance from any quarters. Alas, things can change in a twinkle when your word comes! Immediately, your trial will be over and your release will be secured. I declare over you: over a child of destiny preordained for a march to the palace that your word shall not tarry but come.

In my entire life, I've never faced a moment of darkness and rejection than when I badly needed school fees during my undergraduate days in the university. I would have forfeited my studentship if I had not paid duly on time. This was in 2014 when a repeat of the same event I had somehow survived in 2013 came challenging me again. Everywhere I turned, no salvation was at sight. I called unto those I knew but I was shut out. My mother (the one left of my parents) was helpless. She could only weep and weep while I could only pray and pray; hope and hope. Eventually, I saw the Bearer of light, the Fourth Man in the fire, the One from whom all good gifts and precious gifts stem from coming for me. Unknowingly to me, He had put my case in someone's mind. From this quarters that God solely could have raised help, my help came without reproach or a string ever attached. What a deliverance at an hour when I shivered. I breathed relief and was relaxed. Joseph must have gotten here. Diomaye Faye himself might have gotten here. A place where upon looking at the dark sky, one couldn't even see a star heralding hope. Such a moment teaches us to put our trust in God who alone surpasses all odds and could do exceedingly beyond expectation or imagination.

I'll like you to know that my help just didn't arrive that day. Before the physical help arrived, my word came first of all. A word was issued concerning me in the spirit realm that this one must not be let down. He must rather be borne up on angels' hands/wings. It is this same word that first found release and operation in the spirit realm that moved Pharaoh to loose Joseph from the prison. His time came for a forward match and no devil could hold him back in jail! Don't forget that Naphtali is a hind let loose: bearing goodly words, fawns or products fitting the liberty availed him. In the same manner, when Joseph's word arrives and was sent for and loosed from where he was bound, it means a season has ended over him while another of a new chapter and clean slate is starting for him. If Joseph was never loosen and brought to the palace, who would have tasted of his giftedness and be indebted to God for the extents to which he brought deliverance to Egypt. We wouldn't have known that 'slave boy' was loaded with ingenuity to save a nation.

Verse 19 says, "until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him." I pray that you won't fail tests before your word comes. Some fell apart, made a shipwreck of their faith, morals, belief and value system before their word came. They couldn't exercise enough patience to inherit the promise and let prophecy find rest on them. You too like Joseph, Diomaye or myself may need to experience a season in ward before your word comes. You may need to be chained in darkness, forgotten and forsaken by others until your salvation arrives. Some are there right now. They can relate. God has a purpose for that trial or test. It's to process you and turn you out rightly so that you'll learn mercy and know how to behave in humility when you gain the scepter of office. But if anyone still despises this discipline and moulding work of God but to live in defiance to justice and fairness once chosen, God shall surely humble him.

Brethren, I am sent to make an announcement. Currently with open eyes, I'm seeing myself on a tower or let's say a hill. From there I'm proclaiming the word of the Lord over you that says, "your word will come!" When it does eventually, wherever you have been tied even at the backside of the desert, soonest you'll see a hand move you from oblivion into public gaze. Your word will come. I know that's what you've been waiting for. God Himself knows that you can do nothing or manifest nothing except this word comes. As such, standing on Christ the solid Rock, I declare, let your word come. Wherever your salvation, provision, time and chance, seasonal help or joy might have been suspended and hung, let it be loosen now to supply you its glory and strength. I declare, receive your word. Let this dark season pass over you. You're receiving deliverance and troops of help for your manifestation now. A transition is taking place. I'm seeing a change of seat. The palace and its grandeur are calling you to come. The night is over; the day is here. Weeping which has for long besets you is being exchanged for dancing now. Here's your joy. I say, receive it under this heavy anointing. You're freed! You're loosen to go into the distance and take your place amidst the great and strong. Welcome to the palace of honourable life, responsibility and expectation.

PRAYER: Father, thank you for my moment of darkness that you've rolled away. Joy has come with this morning. I'm in a new day.

A HIND LET LOOSE

Genesis 49:21, KJV

"Naphtali is a hind let loose: he giveth goodly words."

"If eternity is spent making plans, when will the plan be implemented" says a Yoruba proverb? We can talk all the talks there be but if we refuse to work the works there be, our talks - all of them in their multitude will be regarded as nothing but vain. For that reason, God is coming in power to enable you make your plans realizations. One of the things that shakes the human mind is launching out and starting that which the heart has ruminated on and for long desired. We always tend to see one thousand reasons why it may not work. People around may not act differently but rather fill us with fear of its not succeeding. As such, the inspiration of your heart may be mortified and hanged from coming to pass. On some occasions, some would witness hell unleashed against them. "I will start the building of my house", he has said many times. Only that an invisible force or power is hindering him from ever starting or getting it done. As such, there's constant postponement of heart desire, plan and aspiration. It therefore becomes "tomorrow after tomorrow event and so it goes." Such a vicious cycle is what the Lord is breaking from your life today. You'll therefore receive the power to say it and to fulfill it; the power to start it and even to lay the capstone on its head and see such prospective projects to an end. The Anointing (Holy Spirit) has come to aid you today where personal strength or determination has failed (Zech.4:6-7).

The Bible verse for teaching says, "Naphtali is a hind let loose..." May I declare on someone that you'll find release at this hour. This is the hour of breakthrough, freedom and release. Anything that has hindered you from living the life of God which your heart so desires are being shattered right now. You're finding release now. Heaven says, "your time is now." Are there chains holding you down and boundaries set for you not to go past? Are you tied somewhere and ordered by a supernatural power not to move forward or know progress? Such are broken through today. I vex your vexation by the authority in the blood of Jesus. Receive your freedom. Catch your liberty. Receive a free flow of the affections of your heart now! Be at peace and be set free from the captivity of hell hindering such.

Captivity may be sickness. Look at Peter's mother-in-law. She has service to give. However, fever wouldn't allow her. Just one declaration of Jesus sets her free. Immediately she was loosened; she was able to give service that immediately. Her usefulness - her heart desire to be useful in God's service immediately found expression (Luke 4:38-39). You too will be loosened from every infirmity, sickness and disease. I cast out any demon strengthening such captivity in your life. I release you by the order of heaven even from addictions tying you down and pulling you into shame that you may not be useful. You must be loosened so that you'll be able to pursue and do what gives you joy, thereby having fulfillment on your heart desires.

Naphtali is a hind let loose. Today, you're finding allowance and free hand to fulfill your affections and heart desires. When Naphtali is set loose, he gives goodly words. If he was never set loose or freed, he couldn't and wouldn't have been able to perform his heart desire or speak words so freely as expected of someone in his liberty and with liberty. God is not loosening you to purposelessness. He is loosening and freeing you for a purpose in mind. That you may be able to live out your purpose and give your own goodly value or service also. What do you believe God sent you here to do that you have been incapacitated till now from getting done? God is getting you through that hindrance. God is setting you free and carrying you through. Today, all children of destiny with mandates and expectations to burst forth shall indeed burst forth. No more restrictions. Your hands shall no longer be tied. You'll no longer be confused. You'll be shown the way and you'll walk in it. A voice is speaking to you right now. You're knowing what next as I speak. Holy Spirit is on your water vibrating and readying it for what is next which has been delayed till hitherto. I declare, "in the name of Jesus, be set loose to give your goodly words, products, essence, value." The world awaits you and your value. You'll give it without any restriction. Receive such liberty, ground, space and occupation to pass your value to the ends of the earth.

PRAYER: Thank you Lord for making me a hind set loose. I keep my victory and I will forever walk in it. I act on this victory and live out my desires without restrictions.

UNDERUTILIZED!

Romans 12:11, KJV

"Not slothful in business..."

It's your responsibility to ensure you're not underutilized. You will be underutilized if you don't use up to your installed capacity. Every human has an allocated capacity in them. God measures it into us all and it is God's will that what that capacity should carry will not be lesser than intended.

I authored a write-up for Christian Executives and former campus leaders over four years ago. In this write-up, I pointed out straight up why they should continually hold themselves accountable to the highest standards of the offices they once occupied. Their offices stretched them and made leaders (not of title but of lifestyle) out of them. There were students in leadership who while on campus were seeing to hundreds and even thousands of people! Imagine that. Yet, he has not been ordained a pastor. Even without the title, he has the leadership life because he is discharging all the responsibilities of a leader which is necessary to grooming anyone and hooking him up to living up to God's installed capacity in him. Will it be good if such once effective leaders now depreciate to nonentities who can't point to any leadership role or such tasky lifestyle now making demands on them like they had on campus? The reason why some people backslided and depreciated is because they did lesser than they were made for, started with or had been trained for. God never planned that you'll not be effective in delivering up to the maximum capacity He gave you or has blown into you by training.

As such, let it be your pursuit to be used up wholly. Don't run away from responsibilities that'll hook you up to the manifesting of your installed capacity. This installed capacity will include the gifts, graces, inclination, patience and all sorts of nature and ability given you by God well lived out. What will bring them to fore and human appreciation is that you have enough work to do or engage in that could let each of your ability or capacity find function.

Somebody may have an installed capacity from heaven to speak or write. However, he may refuse the work or duty that'll necessitate him to doing so. In this way, he won't live out that capacity or ability in him. That won't be because God doesn't intend he becomes known with oratory or writing but because he chooses to underwork. When you underwork, you yourself can't know your elasticity. However, if you become a workaholic (which isn't bad as portrayed), you will come to the recognition of God's total endowment in you and how each of them could find expression through one work or the other. Let me advise you. Seek for more responsibility. More responsibility will sharpen you for more effectiveness and discovery of yourself, potentials and gifting. As such, there won't be any fallow ground in your life that's not being cultivated or a stone left unturned. Rather, all your gifts, graces, inclinations, flairs would find expression through the hook up of the handle called work.

As I round off this teaching, I'll leave you with the quote of Henry Ward Beecher which says, "hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anybody else expects of you. Never excuse yourself. Never pity yourself. Be a hard master to yourself and be lenient to everybody else." Please, don't do the opposite.

If you do this, you'll find yourself entirely used up with no ability in you idle or for which you'll need to be chastised by God at judgement. Work is a good thing instituted by God Himself to help us realize ourselves, find satisfaction and live to worship Him. If you see work as a burden instead of what you should enjoy, I can say boldly that you can never be fully developed or realized. You will just observe that there's an angle in your life that's lacking. Something will seem to be missing and incomplete. You'll therefore dovetail into sluggishness, depreciation, depression and even unproductivity. God Almighty who worked, created work and gave Adam work to do didn't intend so ((Genesis 1; 2:15, 19-20). See for yourself and hold yourself accountable that you may live up to your calling and election with the total discharge of the virtues, graces, endowments, talents, perseverance level etc created with you as a person. Don't be underutilized. Work fully and give no room to sluggishness. Find expression rather for the variety of the goodies in you to the praise of God and blessedness of men.

PRAYER: Teach me how to bind myself with serious discipline as not to be loose. May I demand much of myself than anyone.
