BECAUSE IT IS YOURS FROM THE LORD

Read I Kings 1, 2:1-15

I Kings 2:15, KJV

"And he said, Thou knowest that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign: howbeit the kingdom is turned about, and is become my brother's: for it was his from the LORD."

Now, when it comes to serious matters, it should be left serious. That was what I expected from Adonijah. He shouldn't agree with someone that contested the throne with him. Meanwhile, Adonijah owned up. He said something that kept rotating in my mind: "you know I ought to be king [being the eldest living son] but the table turned and Solomon is now king because it is his from the Lord. Full stop! You could see him mourning and trying to attract sympathy. This is where this scripture below is fulfilled.

John 3:27, KJV

"...a man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven."

It departed from him because it is not his from heaven. Naturally, he ought to be king. Even, the whole of Israel was anticipating him being king but all hinges on, "is it his from the Lord?" This question should keep you humble and restrict you from striving unnecessarily. There are many who had strove for what was not released unto them from above until it was to their peril like it eventually became for Adonijah.

In yesterday's devotional, I mentioned the reality of your name being tagged on something. Once that happens, it will be reserved for you. It will await you. It's that same thing that Adonijah couldn't debate successfully here. He confessed in truth and didn't lie that it was Solomon's from the Lord.

Now, let me ask you. Who should be at peace with you - your friend or enemy? Your friend, but Adonijah that the matter of being enthroned has made an enemy of the king [Solomon] still confessed the truth. He opened up.

Saint in Christ, what is yours from the Lord may currently be under contest. That of Solomon was. As a matter of fact, the Bible recorded that Adonijah exalted himself and said, "I will be king." That statement immediately reminds you of the devil. These two are usurpers of the throne. He not only confessed, "I will be king" but he conferred with many notables, performed the rites of kingship and was installed as one. But from his own words, "the kingdom turned away from him" and the reason for that was given. Wherever you get to where there's a vacant position to fill, you'll find he that the office is his from the Lord and he that wants to scheme his way to the office. Meanwhile, let the heathen rage. Let the hills be removed and be planted in the sea; you can go to sleep over God's declaration. "What is yours from the Lord, no one can take" is what I'm professing by God's Spirit. This issue isn't one to disdain. Do you know how many people have been cheated by powers greater than they? Some have even lost their spouses to another. I'm telling you of the reality in our world. But I speak as a sent prophet to you user of today's devotional that the Lord that kept the throne for Solomon will be jealously obligated to keep what should be yours and yours alone for you. They may agitate, wanting to have a share of it or even collect it wholly but the Strength of Israel won't allow. Through today's devotional, God is  teaching you two things however.

1. Distinguish between what is yours from the Lord and what is not. God is obligated to keeping such for you. On that, He'll fight men for your sake.

2. Don't exalt yourself where you've not been exalted. Don't go near what God makes your neighbour's. If you do, God will resist you for the sake of your neighbour.

It is do unto others what you'll want them do unto you. Is it not better to take a humble position and then be called to come up hither? Should you make yourself king or they should make you one like David instructed they make Solomon to ride on his own mule? What an embarrassing thrusting of oneself forward for Adonijah!

Adonijah brought the greatest disgrace of all time on himself by wanting to make himself king when he that God is working through (David, his father who has even not suffered him of anything before was not crowning him). Here, David is a type of God that knows whose right it is and can't be taught whose right it should be. That's why Adonijah boycotted all the righteous authorities and collaborated a mutiny with those who have shown themselves disloyal to David. Yet, despite the fact that he was older than Solomon and people anticipated his being king, the kingdom still departed to Solomon.

You have an Administrator who maintains your lot. Your lot is that portion God earmarked or blessed you with. That's what He calls your own.

Psalms 16:5, KJV

"The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot."

If there be one like that to keep watch over your portion and to separate between your portion and your neighbour's, then you should be sure that all you've committed to Him can't miss nor be marauded. Wherever you've been exercising fear, go and be assured that the Lord is the One that manages your lot. He did for Solomon until what was his became his.

PRAYER: I commit to you all that is mine. Maintain my lot. All contest over what is mine ends today.

WHERE HAVE YOU PREPARED FOR ME?

Mark 14:13-15, KJV

"13 And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him. 14 And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? 15 And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us."

One day,  a minister was burdened for ministry and was praying to God to situate him and site his ministry on ground.  As he prayed, he was saying, "God, where have you prepared for us?"  He was saying this and praying this prayer as a thing that occupies all his heart when that passage of the Bible I quoted above was ministered to his heart.

Are you looking for a place? Are you in search of a house to indwell? Do you want to start something by the Lord's commission and you want a place that will be free of trouble, losses, evil, etc that only God could prepare? You can receive your answer if you'll receive through this teaching. In essence, if you're in anticipation of a thing or person but you want it to be the prepared thing or person, God gives that.

Jesus wanted to eat the passover and without keeping appointment with anyone ahead of time, He instructed His disciples to go to a place. He described their meeting a man carrying a pitcher. He told them to follow him into whatsoever house he enters and asks the owner of that house to show them the guest chamber where He'll eat the passover with His disciples. To my surprise, the exotic demand of Jesus was met. Jesus even said the owner of the house will show them a large, furnished and made ready place.

The reality is that what is yours from the Lord in the spirit can be seen and received as yours in reality. There's always a place prepared for us all. Now, if Jesus kept no appointment with this people and they did not keep with Him, how did they make preparation of that place ahead of time for use of someone they didn't know? That's God's business and dealing with those Jesus sent His disciples to. Look, may God deal with people on your behalf. If you do, you can't turn things. If He does, even if it is their last bread, like it was in the hands of the widow of Zarephath, they'll prioritise you and make for you first of all even when it concerns matters of life and death.

Jesus has not gotten there yet he knew and had the assurance that a place has been prepared for him and was speaking like one who has already possessed it with high boast. What a thing! May you find each thing that has been prepared for you.

On this journey of faith, if we won't be beaten, battered and turned down, we must ask God to do only one thing for us: lead us where He has prepared for us. I found out that if a thing is prepared, it is made ready and totally made fit for you to come and occupy. Jesus was not turned down because that guest chamber had his name on it in the spirit. He went to where He should go. He made demands on the right person. You too can propose to the right person. That's when they'll say yes.

Who knows however whether that guest chamber was dirty? Who knows whether they had left it unoccupied for long but something just rose in the mind of the owner of that house to give instructions to clean that forlorn guest chamber? Even his children and the servants might have asked, "daddy, for what reason and he could have said, just clean it. I'm feeling we should and get every place clean."

Did you see? There will be moments that the body of people will be doing something unintentional to them because God is moving them to get ready for someone or something. There have been people who went to the market, cooked a special delicacy or acquired a property not because they needed it but because they're just being troubled or persuaded to do so. It was after they did that the fellow whose is it arrives and such is released to him. I heard a scripture.

Ezekiel 21:27, KJV

"I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him."

If a thing is for you and has been prepared for you, it is one like a material with a name tag on it. No one will touch it. People may not know why they're not picking interest in it. I have heard over and over testimonies of how ministries come to possesses some lands. God will just do something that will make others not to see value in what God has prepared as value for you. For anyone awaiting the prepared of the Lord which includes a spouse, may the Lord continue to over turn until what is yours from the Lord is yours in reality.

PRAYER: I thank You Lord for taking thought for me ahead. What is mine, none can possess.

SEE THAT THE LORD IS FAITHFUL

Read Exodus 2:1-9

Exodus 2:4-5, KJV

"4 And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.5 And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it."

Do you know that the Lord is faithful? The heathen must know and cover their mouth with their hands. Saints in Christ must see and to Him glory.

Look, if there's no hand to receive you, one hand won't let you fall. Even before your arrival, He takes thought of you.

The case of Moses reveals a God that won't let you be stranded wherever and at whatever time. It doesn't matter those who are watching how your end would look.  If no strand of hair falls off without God's knowing, it means nothing happens to you without God's acknowledgement and permission first of all also. From this, you should draw assurance that you're always in the hands of God even if you're alone now.

Moses was just a baby. His own case is worst than Joseph's. Joseph was an adolescent sold into slavery though without parents or one to point to as a familiar face. He however was not forsaken as a baby but someone who could resist. Moses when he was dropped by the river found himself in a bad condition than Joseph. He was not only without parents but defenseless since he was just three months old. What can a baby do if an ant or snake crawls on him? If we agree he's against these protected, what will he do if a hand comes to collect him away? He wouldn't have resisted. That's why God ensured Moses fell into the right hands.

To test whether God is faithful or not, one character proved God for us though she did out of curiosity. Moses' sister wouldn't go. Something held her still to continue to watch this season movie and see where it would end and where Moses would fall. She therefore hide herself in the bush at a vantage where she could see any transaction happening to baby Moses. What a connection between the siblings. Blood is powerful indeed. It brings two or more together in unbreakable bond.

While she watches, she saw in princely garments a figure arriving at the river. What could this mean? That's how the woman drew Moses from the water. As the contemplation was going on, she came out and suggested if her royalty would need a nurse. Yours truly, that's how the boy's mother nurses her own child. Imagine that! When it seems there was no hope, God rose one for Moses and preserved a prophet for Israel. Is it not because of situations like this that we have a scripture like the one below written for our exhortation.

Psalms 27:10, KJV

"When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

Don't forget that clause, "the Lord will take me up." If that's the only verse you remember when you're deserted but surrounded, you'll beat the devil cyclically again and again. Are you a student on campus that sponsors send to school but who no longer receives support from them? It may not be to their joy but don't forget God will take you up. Adoption is a reality. I was adopted on campus by many parents. Different people put money down at different times I needed it. My father had passed on and the burden was just too heavy on my Mama.

Are you a missionary or minister who's forlorn in the field? Is the quarterly widow's mite promised you not coming again? The Lord will take you up. Wherever and on whatever you feel this is the end; may I announce, that's the beginning.

My Father, you're the One I cry unto day and night. You also freely gave Jesus to us. If you gave this your best, will you withdraw any other good thing from us? Will you not rather freely give us all things to enjoy? I affirm it can't but be. I pray for all forlorn and those at a juncture where like Moses' sister watches what will become of themselves and their situations. It may look like you're in the midst of the sea and you're drowning. You might even have taken some gulps of water but salvation that arises in Zion for Israel shall arise for you today. When you're in no man's land, at the verge of being finished or on the road of being ended, help in time of need: the immediately immediately help shall come your way. If Pharaoh's daughter didn't miss her time but hearkened to God to move to the saving of Moses when an invisible hand stirred her up, none will miss his time to be where you need help.

PRAYER: Your faithfulness is proven. Moses' sister waited and saw it. I am waiting, let me see it.

WHEN IT IS COMING FROM "I HAVE TRIED BEFORE"

Read Luke 5:1-9

Luke 5:4 - 5, KJV

"4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. 5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net."

Today's devotional title is the excuse and reason for which many people don't try again. They'll say, "I've done that before. This same thing you just said, I worked it but nothing happened".

Tell any who's too tired  to try again that he can't as well see the difference for which he had afore tried (though they may be said to be humanly understood for not wanting to try again). Let me ask, do you want all the labour you've done in the past to be vain labour eventually? Yes, it is vain labour eventually if you don't persist until you see the result for which you had first tried. You might have failed 100 times but if you succeed once, that lone achievement will swallow the 100 times of futility.

In today's reading, Jesus told Peter to let down his nets for a catch. His response was that of a tired, spent and discouraged man. He told Jesus point blank that he had tried before and despite the maximal time of trying, he caught nothing. He told Jesus how bad it was. "We caught nothing though we worked really well all night!" This is where people's labour don't equalize their result.  In labour, Peter and co didn't fail but in result, something was not adding up for them. Be delivered from such!

However, in order not to be blamed for being disrespectful or having taken the anointed for granted, he reluctantly agreed to let it down. When he did, he was not curious for result because he had proven that same act not to be result yielding all night. So, he was not in any way expectant. Let us imagine what would have happened if when he finally reluctantly let down the net, nothing happened. He could have hissed and said, "I said it. I'm a master in this thing. I just did that to satisfy you." We all know he let down the nets not because he indeed believed but actually to please Jesus. That's why he said "but at thy word." He was trying to create a ground not to be held responsible if things don't work. He excluded himself from the process of active participation.

Meanwhile, God proved him wrong. It was a large yield for Peter. His not believing in a thing happening in the first place added to what created such huge shock in him when he saw the net breaking and ship sinking miracle. That's why he knelt in humble submission and deviation from his pride of "I tried all night. I know what I'm saying" to saying, "I'm a sinful man" [Luke 5:8-9].

Have you also tried before? Have you had the futile result of Peter? Being a master and one who has expertise report over that thing, are you drawing a conclusion with that? For having tried and reaped nothing, are you saying, "I won't attempt again?" Are you by that disregarding the anointed or a stirring in your heart to try again?

This time is different from other times. When you tried those times, it was without a Word from God but now the anointing is easing things to bring you result. Have you failed an exam many times? Have you lost pregnancies? Are you tired of giving love to your spouse again because children have not manifested from it? Are you just tired of repeating that act because you've come to the realization that it didn't work these much times? God is saying, try again but AT MY WORD!

Noah didn't relent in sending out scouts. Finally, a dove came back with good news of the water having abated [Genesis 8:11].

I pray for you that you'll have a testimony this time. Life answers to authorities. The authority that asked Peter to cast the net was the One that gave the fish. Always ask yourself at whose word what you're doing is being done. If God is in it, even if the result has not come, it is not that it won't come but that it is oncoming.

Experience differently on that note. Your going out is not like other times and so you can't reap as at other times. This interview will be different. Peter failed and failed because he had no assisting words at those times but at the declaration of the anointed, fish that were no where to be found gathered. I pray that your result will gather. The cloud will gather for you and result shall rain for you now. Now!

PRAYER: Lord, I receive forgiveness where I've subtly disregarded You and taken your prophet a liar. I receive at Your Word now. I'm open to You.

IT TOOK SEVEN DAYS

Read Joshua 6

Hebrews 11:30, KJV

"By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days."

Tell yourself or somebody there that "it took seven days."

One of the famous stories in the Bible is that of the wall of Jericho. Even the heathen makes reference to Jericho and to an extent have heard by hearing what led to the collapse of it.

The Lord told Joshua, let the priests do this and that. You will walk encamped round this wall for seven days and on the seventh day (walk round it seven times), you shall receive an answer to your act. So it was. On the seventh day as the priests bore the ark and as they blew the  trumpets and shouted with a great hailing, the wall of Jericho - that mighty wall that has the width of a standard double line express road collapsed. But this collapse didn't happen on the first day. It was not even on the third day or the sixth. The collapse of this wall had to complete its cycle. The cycle was seven days and then seven times on the seventh day. Until the seventh day dawned and that same action which in the new testament could be translated as prayer was done, the wall still stood mountainous.

You've been praying for awhile now and you're fainting already. You've been murmuring and littering your prayer room with complaints that no answer has been received. Is that how Jericho's wall was collapsed? Did they not persist in that faith act before Jericho gave way and fell. Now, you want to command that stronghold and you commanded once and gave up repeating the command because the stronghold didn't give way. Even Jesus repeated a laying on of hand [Mark 8:25].

Jericho was addressed the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and then seventh day and then seven times. To reach the seventh day, they had to painstakingly pass through the process of each day. You, what have you endured? You started praying on a thing and here you are, collapsing on your bed for no answer. Yet, you've not even surrounded or brooded over that wall for three days. You're still far from achieving if you'll give up this way. Those who give up even on the sixth day don't get to see the collapse of the seventh day but tell all those that will be persistent in the place of prayer that they'll receive answers to their prayers.

Have you not read of that widow that persistently worried the judge? Jesus parabolically taught us that men ought to pray and not give up [Luke 18:1-8].

That Jericho did not heed on day one isn't a denial that it won't collapse at all. The collapse of Jericho has been dated and well fixed. You just need to push until you hit the seventh day.

This money thing that you're searching to gather, having it takes seven days. You can't start work today and declare, "I'm retiring like that." No, it takes seven days. Time is all we have to become somebody and that takes time. Even when it's very easy with a good job, you'll need to pass through the process. You don't enter school and graduate the same day. It takes seven days! So, that thing you also want in haste which is already putting you under pressure of comparison with those who have fulfilled their seven days, you need to check it. Don't relent in hard work but don't cut corners to quickly fulfill your days.

To that fainting soul, seventh day is near. Persist. Anointing was on Joshua but the Spirit of Wisdom he had received through laying on of hands of Moses instructed him that his seventh day is inevitable. So, have you fulfilled your days? A larvae doesn't turn into a butterfly in a jiffy nor are eggs hatched as soon as they are laid. Even God didn't speak the Word until the Spirit had first ploughed, brooded, walked over and trodden on the water. A road leads to the end. Walk it and as you walk it, take delight in your journey and pay attention to the life lessons. It is with the comfort you therefore receive that you'll use comfort others one day. If you won't be deficient telling your story, you must embrace hardship now like a good soldier. When you tell your story in years to come, you'll be celebrated as a hero and not a victim. Your answer will soon answer you. Stay there!

PRAYER: I shall persist. I shall see the seventh day. I obtain result in the place of prayer.

THE SNARE IS BROKEN

Read Psalm 124

Psalms 124:7, KJV

"Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped."

Look at me and hearken to God's Spirit, what I heard is "the snare is broken." Don't mind what captivity it is, what I heard told me from the blessed glory is that "the snare is broken". Forget the strength of the stronghold. Just rejoice in the strength of the Deliverer. He said I should tell you that the snare - that barrier, captivity, restriction economically, academically, maritally, even in giving birth is broken. Just mention it, they're broken. Where have you been assaying to go yet with restriction? What good news coming your way through the anointed today. The snare is broken.

First of all, put that in your mouth and say to yourself that the snare of that thing you're looking forward to breaking is broken today. It is not only broken but it shall never be reconstructed again.

What's a snare? It's a trap. The Psalmist talked of the snare of the fowler. The fowler is he that hunts birds and to catch one, he has to set a trap known as the snare. What he does with the trap is to ensnare unwise and hungry birds. He'll bait the snare and he'll wait in hope that a bird or an animal will fall its prey.

Believe God and me, once a bird is snared, the bird is trapped. At the first time the bird or that animal is trapped, it won't believe it is trapped. He'll take it for a kind of joke. He'll begin to struggle to free itself. If it's a bird, it will flap and flap. It will flap until all its feathers removes one by one.

I have hunted animals before while growing up. I can set some traps and those include ones set for rodents and some other wild animals. When a trap catches an animal, that animal will detest that restriction by first struggling against it until by discovery, that same animal is brought to the awareness of a stronger entity than he. The trap is always stronger. That's why it can stay, withhold, or restrict independence. The animal wants freedom but the trap says "no." Herein will the fowler or hunter as the case may be meets the struggling sympathetically looking animal.

Since we're dealing more with a bird which typifies a freed spirit or soul, after it might have expend its energy, then the bird will settle and lose fighting totally. Its settling didn't happen in a jiffy. It happened after constant resistance of that restriction that has now proved to be unyielding.

There be many people who have been brought to a state of mind that it can't work again like that bird. So, they stop fighting. They'll say, "we've tried all avenues and we got only one same result. Trying is expending more energy". So, they'll keep their cool.

But what happens if the snare is broken or the fowler for instance sets that bird free? It flies immediately for dear sake's life. However, if it has been long there, it may not even fly. It may begin to walk first of all, finding it difficult to believe that indeed she's freed. And even if it will fly, the flight will be reluctant and may not be swift since all energy has been expended and the feathers have been plucked off. Some birds even die being trapped because they get more injured as they seek escaping. However, the truth is that only a freed bird can fly. Until freedom, no taking into the air. That's why your snare or captivity must be broken.

You won't die in captivity like a bird whose snare isn't broken. Your freedom is like that of the hemorrhage woman. She suffered many things of many physicians and ought to have died or give up but her solution came through Jesus because she kept fighting. Hope is not lost for you too. I declare, your snare is broken. I am anointed. What I see my Father do is what I do. I say "the snare, your snare is broken".

Where you've been witnessing hindrance like a snared bird, let the snare be broken. You've been struggling to progress for years but it seems difficult. The anointing doesn't owe the devil any apology. I free you today.

Progress, fly, soar and soar higher.

PRAYER: Thank you Lord for the escape and broken snare. My soul escapes; my spirit is freed.

THOSE WHO ASSAYED TO GO

I Samuel 17:38-39, KJV "38 And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put an helmet of brass upon his head; also he armed him with a coat of mail. 39 And David girded his sword upon his armour, AND HE ASSAYED TO GO; FOR he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him."

Yesterday, we saw the spirit of heaviness in action. That spirit like a lead attached to any net always sinks it. It's a depressing spirit. Anyone that the spirit of heaviness is on will only assay or try to go. They too may not like their moodiness. They may desire to be light hearted, causing and bringing delight but because they've been given as prey to a demon who doesn't allow his victim escape or open the prison door to such to go home, they'll face one problem which is the problem of going.

They may try going or escaping but they'll not find it funny. When David was worn with the coat of mail, he girded his sword by his side (got ready to move or match on), but he discovered for the first time in his life that movement was difficult and restricted. He only assayed to go. He didn't eventually go.

That's the spirit of heaviness in action and not only the spirit of heaviness but any other spirit that establishes itself in a man's life especially through repetitive habit that may be sinful. Do you know how many people are trapped in fornication, lust, masturbation etc that are trying to go yet couldn't? Do you know why? They've practised that habit for long until a spirit - a demon comes in to take over their will. Now, the will power to break or stop that habit isn't available again because a rude and callous driver has taken over the steering wheel of their will. This is where ministration by the anointing comes in to judge such spirit and deliver the captive of the mighty. If you're born again and you can't stop an habit again by your will power, you need ministration. If people are still trapped, it is because He who ought to say restore hasn't spoken. God Himself anoints people for this purpose.

Isaiah 42:22, KJV

"But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore."

Those who assayed to go, those who desire freedom, forward movement yet couldn't get to experience such, I free you today. I declare, be loosed. Whatever is holding you down as captives to obey its own command of restriction, I judge such in Jesus name. I say don't be like a vehicle that's stuck again. The driver may try the more for it to be freed but the tyres will just be rolling in futile exercise to be freed. I join divine forces of heaven to help push your vehicle out of every mud it is in. Receive deliverance and be set free. The snare is broken and your soul is escaped like a bird's today.

Also, every spirit of attempting but not accomplishing is judged. Have you been attempting paying a debt, saving or doing one grand thing but found it impossible to do. By the anointing, I bring ease of progression to you today. Receive such. Your David won't only try or attempt going but in reality will go. You'll not only try walking if you're sick in your body now but at your attempting it, you'll actually walk in reality. Let the lame walk. In Nigeria where the ministry operates from, today is her Independence Day. Today's passage also speaks of independence because that coat of mail was eventually removed from David and he was independent to move swiftly. Today, no more sluggishness or pegging down. I judge all restrictions to your ability to move in Jesus' name.

Happy Independence or Freedom Day for both who have received their deliverance and in the physical sense of it to all Nigerians as we celebrate her Independence Day.

PRAYER: Thank God for the received enablement to accomplish and not only attempt in every area of your life. Thank God over Nigeria and pray for her swift progression. She shall not assay to go to discover she can't go. Such experiences end today.
