IF YOU DO WELL

Genesis 4:6-7, KJV

"6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him."

God wants you know that there's no authority that should be terror to good work. By godly ordaining, they are to commend good and fall upon evil works.

Romans 13:3, KJV

"For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:"

In today's reading, God commended Abel over Cain. Both of them brought offerings to the Lord but one won God's approval and so was commended while the other was corrected to emulate doing well also. God is seen as an authority whose right it is to commend or ask for more. He did just that.

All authorities wherever they may be must know that it's their exclusive right to be terror to evil works and praiser of good works. Never feel you'll be making enemies or make your followers/workers enemies of themselves if you give commendation to one but ask the other to do better. They may see it so but that shouldn't deter you. As long as you're not biased in rewarding, then you will have a clear conscience to implement such and continually have their respect.

God while speaking to Cain said, "if you do well, will you not be accepted?"

So, there shouldn't be any system that applauds people that doesn't do well above those that does well. If you find yourself in a system and what goes on there is the sacrifice of good for evil, then you're not well situated. Such system can destroy you and make you a man of evil intention and evil act.

God is a very just One. He exhibited fairness where we read. God isn't partial or discriminatory like Cain by his being angry feels God is. Rather, God has just discharged as a good leader should divide between those who have done well and those who haven't.

God said, "if you do well, will you not be accepted?  This shows God is not judging by any other standard but that of "doing well." God was saying, "don't think I hate you. If you had done well like your brother, I would have commended you." He knew God was justified over him. He knew he had not done well indeed. It pained him and he couldn't argue it with God. He knew just like God knew that he hadn't done well. Don't be one of such that it is at reward time they blame themselves for the job they could have done or done better.

All leaders, authority figures etc must learn from God. You must know what to encourage and discourage by what you commend or withhold commendation from. When God commended Abel, God indirectly was telling him to act that way the more and not change. When God didn't commend Cain, God was saying, there's a thing to repair. Do that and you'll be accepted. For as many that are angry, feels cheated, embarrassed, discriminated against etc, because someone was righteously and sincerely commended over you by an authority figure in your lives; you must know you're not owned an apology. The question you should ask yourself is, "if I do well, will I not be accepted."

You should rather be sorry for not doing well and seek to win approval next time. Your person, your work or act etc that was not commended was because you didn't do well. The criteria for judging is opened to all to evaluate. It is not a mystery or a thing not explainable that could justify your not being praised. Doing well wins praise. Doing contrarily demands correction. This ain't hatred but setting right!

PRAYER: I have capacity for good inside me. I exhibit same in all human endeavour. Let the Spirit of excellence that outruns multitude to win urges me on.

STRONGHOLDS ARE ANSWERABLE TO DECREES

Nahum 3:12, KJV

"All thy strong holds shall be like fig trees with the firstripe figs: if they be shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater."

A stronghold is a place built to withstand attack. It is a refuge or fortress. In time of war, people run there. A cave can serve the purpose of a stronghold. Contradictorily, God's declaration speaks concerning the defence of Nineveh and how weak her stronghold will be - permeating the enemy. A stronghold which is meant to be a defence will now be one that rather will give way very easily to intruders. It will just be easy to break through it or into it. So, security will be compromised.

Like ripe fruits fall without much effort but by just a shaking of the tree, so does God declares ease of penetration into Nineveh. To be sincere with you, God's decrees can make difficult things easy. If you know what a stronghold is, you'll know it is always intentionally built to resist external aggressions. If it's a wall for instance that's built into a stronghold, the bricks will be thoroughly baked in the furnace and given the quality of seven times processing. Apart from that, it won't be like our normal nowadays fence in width. Like the wall of Jericho, it could be a wall that two vehicles could comfortably drive on - one going, one coming at the same time. That may be the width. Imagine a fence with the width of an express road. This made such hardly breakable. To break walls like this, Uzziah during his reign gave special attention to the building of engines and machines that shoot arrows from towers and at the same time haul stones. To break through such, one will need to haul persistently a specially made combo stone at a specific place until holes are made in there for soldiers to enter (II Chronicles 26:15 & Ezekiel 26:9). Defences are not easily broken even in sports because it's specially made to resist and withstand the opponent especially front line attackers. You can fight it but it is meant to tire you until you drop.

Why this in - too - to attention? Because it's a wall meant to serve as a protection, hiding place and a keeper at distance of offensive  launches. They call such walls bulwark. Imagine such a stronghold well built by the best of minds to keep lives and properties in the city safe now being made into ABC for its attackers at God's declaration. What's the thing that could be likened to a stronghold - which is not giving you a way to pass and penetrate in this life? May God make the decree of ease that will make what Satan calls stronghold open to you of its own accord.

Many times, men's minds don't know how to grab with difficulties. However, what they view as threat is settled before their arrival at the location of its encounter. For example, an angel rolled away the stone at the tomb's mouth for those caring and seeking women (Mark 16:3-4) which they had concerned themselves with. At their arrival, God has made difficult things easy for them.

That's the covenant of ease. Before you press, it opens. It's like getting to the ATM machine and withdrawing once from the same machine that didn't dispense for hundreds. When the covenant of ease taints your head, the key in your hands will have no work to do; your effort and strength will be saved and things will be happening for you by God's finger and supernatural power.

Brethren, Jesus makes difficult things easy. Come to Him today and tastes how strongholds can become a tree shaken once with an immediate release of all its fruits.

Today, you won't be denied entry. Access is given you. Receive an entrance and a penetration. No more bounce back but rather an opening even in the toughest of the toughest. For you to have your way, I see God betraying strongholds to you and making holes and loopholes in them for you.

PRAYER: Jesus, You make difficult things easy - give me the covenant of ease and peace. Let strongholds open to me even at my first attempt.

MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE - Olusola ADEJUMO

BECAUSE IT IS YOUR SEASON

Read Psalm 1

Psalms 1:3, KJV

"And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."

The righteous is like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth his fruit in his season. What your gaze must be fixed on is _"that brings forth his fruits in his season."_ Do you know some things won't just yield unless their seasons come. If you know this, you'll quickly be hastened as a Christian to discern and separate between what you can accrue any time, any day and what can only be received in its season.

There is a thing like " _the day, the time or the season_ ." If it is not the time for a leaf to fall off its branch, it won't fall unless you pluck it off. If it's not day for the sun to shine or night for the moon to peep out, you won't see either. Though they both wanted to be seen at the peak of their performances, yet they stick to the rule of their seasons. Season naturally calls you into manifestation even without your taking thought for it. That's why you have to pray that your season will come upon you. It is not age that determines season but the ordaining of God and how cooperative we are with God on our personal journey. Some by their own acts are delaying or postponing the ripening of their seasons though it has been afore fixed that they manifest or bring forth someday. Stop sinning, stop not putting preparation in place for the D-day.

If that tree bears fruits in its own season, the message is that you must bring forth at your season. It means some things must happen or be fulfilled upon you because of their time which has matured. You're not destined not to be productive. You carry in you the seed that gives birth. That place says, "he brings forth HIS FRUIT in his season." Did you see? Some fruits were allotted to him. That is, whether he likes it or not, he must bring forth something which is his. God has destined you too to bring forth. Unless seasons come for some things, no matter how you try, you can't force result. If at your season, you however are not productive, then there's an attack and a curse of the devil hindering that. I break it off you in Jesus name. What did the Bible say here?

Psalms 102:13, KJV

"Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come."

Why would God arise? ...because that fixed time has come. That's all. Nothing added and nothing removed. Singularly, that's the reason for God's coming through for Zion. Are you not Zion today? Your season has come. If it's your season for it to happen or be done, it means it can't be hindered because things must answer at their seasons. A law is there and an angel watches over your season to ensure that it is kept. You won't miss seasons! I pray for you, because your season has come, you'll be productive in your calling and career. You'll be favoured, sought after and things would happen for you faster and better than you've been labouring to make happen. Alas, the season has come upon you. Result can't be hindered again because the Law and the Lord of seasons are watching to perform to you in your season.

PRAYER: Lord, help me by early discovery not to miss seasons. Restore to me any missed season/opportunities. Watch over my season with jealousy for accomplishment of purpose.

MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE - Olusola ADEJUMO

UNTIL HE COMES WHOSE RIGHT IT IS

I Samuel 17:23-24, KJV

"23 And as he talked with them, behold, there came up the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, out of the armies of the Philistines, and spake according to the same words: and David heard them. 24 And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid."

If you hit on another man's assignment, it won't prove for you because according to allotment, you were not allotted that assignment. Things prove if such task is one's task from the Lord. For forty days and forty nights, the Philistine, Goliath of Gath defied the armies of the Lord without a mouth to stop his railing. The Bible records that he comes forth daily to intimidate and challenge Israel. As he does this, he sends shivers into the spines of the soldiers and they flee from him. Why is it so difficult for one not to have stepped forward to stop or fight Goliath as he proposed a one on one fight? Are they all not trained men? Do you know why none was able to peep out or concede to fight him? It is because Goliath was not their assignment. So, they lacked the anointing, inner stirring, persuasion, assurance and daring spirit to combat him. When all these are lacking in a man, it indicates such assignment hasn't been willed him from above. What is yours from above is what God will corresponds you to handle. Even if it is bigger than you, God will bow it for you to gloat over. It's just one way of God showing His commitment to all He calls and who are ready to work for Him in their respective areas of specialization.

All of us must seek to find what God has given us to do and then stick to same. Why would Saul be handicapped killing Goliath? It's simply because God has not accorded Goliath amidst those he'll kill. That trophy was reserved for David and it was evident in how none could attempt the assignment until he came. They had to wait until he whose right it is came. Despite the honey dripping prizes of Saul, yet no one was able to still risk it. That David agreed to fight Goliath didn't proceed from the flesh. It was a divine motivation of his will to go face him. Nothing natural of small David and his crude weapons would have loved to fight Goliath if not for a divine motivation. If you're not being propelled or inspired to do something hard (start ministry, found and plant churches, confront or declare etc) and you want to prove you have the training or skill to do it, it can kill you. All those soldiers had the training but they lacked the inspiration to see Goliath as a piece of meat to swallow. Inspiration is the push, the Spirit that urges on on the inside that no one sees yet assures His host victory. It's that same motivation that didn't let David see like others saw. They saw a giant. He was seeing a man that will have the destiny of the bear and lion he had killed. Yet, we knew Goliath isn't this cheap but at the end we could judge whether he was cheap or not.

Assignments could wait for years until the man God created to execute them is born, raised, equipped and sent to get it done. The assignment of Jesus saving the world waited like that - for years of years. Prophecies hinted at it [Isa.7:14, Matt.1:21, Micah 5:2]. The army was at a standstill until the divine hand moved Jesse to play his part in the script by sending David to the army.  Naturally, God will equalize you with your assignment. There will be an inbuilt in you that can do whatsoever assignment that are your God-given assignments. Goliath was God given to David and was reserved for him until he comes whose right it is. This should comfort you that what you're called to do is reserved for you to discover and execute. Also, it should sound warning to you not to prey on an assignment that's not yours or else it'll prey on you. Know your measure. Your measure is your specific assignment and it's made known to you by the conviction through inspiration you'll have to face it even when others (of better skills, reputation, fame, age etc) flees from it.

PRAY: Lord, answer hovering and pending generational prayers of saints to raise deliverers for nations, people, tongue, communities, families. Raise a Saviour. Raise me as one.

ARE YOU UNDER CONSTRAIN? - Heart of Wisdom Series 012

READ John 9:1-9

John 9:4,KJV

"I MUST work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

Jesus said the above verse before He went to heal that blind man. In it, you'll see compulsion. He constrained Himself. Anyone who will therefore as a matter of compulsion do His Father's work must have mastered himself. You need great discipline and conquering of your body(flesh) so at its lusting after other things (contrary to your calling), you won't be taken away from what your works are. Unless your flesh is subjected to your willing spirit, you may not be able to (as a matter of compulsion) lay hold on yourself to do the works of Him that sent you. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. If your yearning is diverse, forget about doing the Father's works. Anyone who says, "I MUST do the works of Him that sent me...." and will make it good must be ready for a fight with distraction. If he's not vowing full time duty, he may be excused. At a time, they wanted to make Jesus king but He escaped it intentionally because He already knew the type of works He was called to (John 6:15). You'll meet luring and juicy attractions like this that will appeal to take you out of what you're designated and consecrated for - the works of the Father, your very calling.

"I MUST" means "I MUST" always be up and doing. This is not the matter of whether you feel like working or not. You must put yourself under such a great constraint while reminding yourself how much you owe someone. Jesus owes the Father. It is His (the Father's) work Jesus was obligated doing. Jesus will give accounts. That became part of the revelation and knowledge that drove Jesus to do the works of He that sent Him while He could do it (at the day). He's a man under obligation. That Jesus was human when He walked this earth will help us greatly. If He was human, it means He was as well tempted in every point as we are not to do the works of He that sent Him. I just said He was almost made a king yet didn't disappoint His consecration. This is what we are called to aspire to. Being human may mean you and I may not always be willing to do the works of He that sent us. We must then learn how not to disqualify ourselves further but how to be qualified. Whenever you wake up, pick up a confession to make yourself willing to go about your Father's business daily. What a positive confession from Jesus. He put Himself in a willing position by that confession of "I MUST (whether I like it or not).... That will then create a good atmosphere of work around you. Words are spells. They can bind or loose you. This will tear off you the garment of reluctance and laziness. He said, "I MUST work the works of He..." "I must!" It just keeps ringing in my mind. Many of us can't be said to have tried at all. We have not yet given our best. We're still working only when we are comfortable. We rise when we can. We sleep when nature calls for it yet at the works' expense. We only do ministry when we are inspired and not by faith when we don't feel like. Why live purposefully only "in season" and not "out season (II Tim. 4:2).

But Jesus worked at both times. He constrained Himself to work here and you can bear Him witness His working was not in vain because He eventually brought wholeness to that blind man. Have you appeased, convinced and win your mind and body to work by saying, "listen now, I must WORK and do the works of He that sent me." Have you? I'm hearing, "you've not yet resisted until the shedding of blood." You're only coasting along. You've not been gripped by the works. If it does, you'll always be ready to work in order to fulfill the obligation, constraint or oath by which you're bound here. If you don't know, Jesus' statement there was very much binding oneself with difficult words that he can't dissociate from later but see to its fulfilment. Jesus has become my own example. He holds Himself unto a higher standard more than anyone could request of Him. He doesn't give excuses. He's a man of one straight confession, "I MUST work the works of He...." What a sense of duty! Knowing He has been limited to working "in the day", He brought fulfilling purpose to a matter of necessity and not what He'll do as hit and run. Today, God is asking to know whether you've been living in the awareness of brevity of time and life under "I Must" or "I May."

PRAY: Baptize me with the power of decision, discipline and grace me to be a doer.

WHEN NO MAN CAN WORK - Heart of Wisdom Series 011

John 9:4, KJV

"I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work."

Jesus is indeed a revealing and emphatic teacher. He knew that "at night" no man can work. There's no remedy to it. At night, you're useless because night makes you useless. At old age, it is only little you can do. That's even before death, the ultimate night comes. You'll lack strength to move from your bedroom to the bathroom in the same jurisdiction. Your hands may be shaking. Spoon may not stay in your hands. You'll need another to help you rise or walk because uninvited weaknesses or sicknesses might begin to appear. Is this the time you want to establish that enterprise? Is this the time you want to take your vision to all continents and reach men through all possible means? Is it at this time of no pleasure you want to do high things? Stop waiting to learn the consequences of being slow to put your youthfulness to work. Even in the natural, we know God has not created the night for work though we might transgress there for good reasons. There's a natural or cosmos law God put there which makes humans obey the natural night. Though man has power of choice to obey sleep or not (which comes very much easily at night), yet he knows the designated period God has given him to lay down before he goes to his work in the day is this night time (a period in the day).

Psalms 104:23, KJV

"Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening."

Until the what? If he goes to his work until the evening, what do you think he comes back to do in the evening? To rest! What I'm hearing is that, "the night comes when no man can work." Those men may desire working. They may have it laid in their hearts to do great things for Jehovah but nature and the laws of cosmos will fizzle them out and weed them away. This is a warning to those who are slowing down themselves by living in sin and heeding all forms of distraction. If the night (which begins at old age naturally) catches up with you, even if you have desire and plans that can raise a tower to the sky, they can never be implemented by you. How painful it is then when where God could have used one, it is another he has found for use?  Did you not hear Solomon speak? He said the grave whither you go, there's neither work, device or knowledge there? Night was not created for work but sleep. Darkness symbolizes and heralds night time while the light signifies the breaking of the day. The appearance of darkness should communicate something to you. When we sleep, we close our eyes. That's how our eyes shall be finally closed in death. You can't say I have an idea in that realm. Earth is where we test the practicality of anything, build invention and affect our world and for same get recognition. In the realm of the dead, it is stillness forever. The night hurries. It comes. You near it and it nears you. Unfortunately, night is a slave master and enforcer of one principle. "No work!" Night has enough potency: known and unknown that weakens and disqualifies any man: male or female from setting his heart to doing anything he may see worthy to do. Before night makes nonsense of you, make nonsense of it with all revenge and daily utilization of your time. Achieve in these few years you have to live and be willing and sweetened at heart to meet your Saviour at appearance.

PRAYER: I fall on night before it falls on me. I receive wisdom to beat the potency of night.

RACE AGAINST THE DYING OF THE LIGHT - Heart of Wisdom Series 010

John 9:4, KJV

"I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work."

Our race is against the "night" that comes. I want you to really understand the Master and His speech here. He said, "for night comes when no man can work." He spoke with such emphasis and gravity that even the fool amidst men will get. Night has not come He said but it will come. It is even hurrying. It comes like a legion of soldiers whose feet causes a great earthquake. Don't rejoice it is far away. Be sober and make life count. That's why there are sayings like, "time's winged chariot", "how quick does time flies etc." The distance between where you are now and where you'll one day be (the grave) is the space or allowance you have to live and do the works of Him that sent you. God intentionally spares you that time. Out of it, we work, pleasure, marry, raise children and do all they were doing in Noah's time.

Have you heard of rain stopping people before, especially those that were warned to set out early so they'll reach before being interrupted by it? That's neglect on their part and they'll pay for it. In same way, Jesus was saying, night is coming. That's sure. That's why we have to live like there's no tomorrow now. We can't sleep that thought away. We may despise it but at its time on each person, it will find fulfilment. The "night time" of individuals on earth differs. When A will pass away is not when B will go. Even, out of the two couples, it is usually one who will first depart. Moses knew this truth. That's why under divine inspiration, he said, "our years is 70 and if by reason of strength 80." Ask yourself, when will my 80 come? That doesn't mean you can't exceed 80 years of age. Moses while speaking talked to set the end of usefulness. Anyone at 80 even if he's still living actively is a retired human being somehow and indeed he should begin to make preparation to meet his Lord. There's nothing you can do to it. He's already at his decline and termination nears. It is a law and set of system operating itself. You can't chance it but it can chance you. Aging is a reality even if any dies naturally. Death or this "night" chances people when they die young. So, learn all things that will make you fulfill the number of your days and then live by same. It includes not living contrarily to your body/ human sustenance, understanding your environment and not breaking its laws, living by faith, God's will, God's promises which can't be broken etc. Abiding by all these can elongate your "night time." It doesn't mean you won't die but you'll rather fulfill the number of your days. By the time you finalize your aging period, what is next is death, even natural death. We all know we arrive this earth by birth and must exit by death. It is not a return to childhood. It is a setting to rest at your final house. So, that truth is a secured truth. Night comes and you ought understand that. Night don't take a damn and it won't pity anyone. That's why we have this written in the Bible also.

Job 2:4, KJV

"And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life."

That verse confirms "night" to always appear. Man could give all he has to stay alive indeed. Life is precious and we're only privileged having it. That breath in us isn't ours. It is God's and He do take His thing when it's ripe (Gen.2:7). We've heard of those who sold all their properties to hold this night from being fulfilled on them. The woman with the issue of blood did it in the Bible. She came to penury to keep living. She does because if there's still life, there's still hope. However, once that "night is fully come", it can't be evaded. So, I'll say, "that verse only applies to temporarily holding of death." Man must return to dust from which he was taken (Gen.3:19). Dust is he and to dust he must return. Let that into you sink and in temperance and urgent urgency live your life. Affect lives and don't hoard your wealth for yourself only. Share to this and that. Cast your bread upon the waters and after many days, you'll find them. It is what any dead has done that will speak for him afterwards. Their deeds always follow them. Live remarkably and purposefully so that your voice will speak still like righteous Abel's even at rest. Death isn't the end of impact making. It may be the beginning for some. If Abel still speaks at his death, you can live on still speaking (impacting or having effect) even after dying.

PRAYER: Sensitize me to areas of adjustment and improvement for quickening and better functioning as night hurries.
