YOUR CHILD IS CALLED BY NAME - Your Baby Series 018

Exodus 31:2, 6 KJV

"2 See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: 6 And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee"

He has a calling! Say, "my child has a calling." Yes, your child has a calling. Anyone with a definite call into a field or an area of life is one called by name into that field. Be it ministry (religion), science and technology, art and entertainment, sports, education or whatsoever, once you're led into any of these, you're called into it assuredly.

What does God tell Moses? "I have called by name Bezaleel...and Aholiab and I have filled them with wisdom in all manner of craftsmanship."

Your child is called. The first misconception about calling or placement is the error that it's only Christian ministers or priests that God do call. Every work or human endeavour is an area God do call people into. As visible as it is for every eyes to see here, God didn't call Bezaleel and Aholiab into spiritual ministry of the Word or what have you like Moses or the Levites. He called them into architecture, engineering, metallurgy, building, carpentry, blacksmithing and every form of craftsmanship that requires maximum dexterity of creativity. These guys are no ordinary guys. They are jack of all trades if you'll hear. As long as the work at hand involves craftsmanship using gold, silver, stone, timber etc, as in working with your hands to build or bring forth a tangibility, these guys can do it. I know you must have heard of such kind of people. He could do wiring, plumbing, carpentry, bricklaying, tiling, painting, printing and just a host of others. You'll then begin to wonder who created him or gave him all those. Some are called to be multifaceted. Meanwhile, as you faithfully set out with the set of skills afore given you, you can have more skills or abilities imparted to you just by using maximally the ones afore given you.

The shocking thing however is that God called them by name. He identified them and separated them to a field he'll like them to be used in. Same way, your child has a calling. He's no ordinary on the surface of the earth. As soon as he's birthed, it should be your responsibility to begin to educate and communicate his destiny to him (as surely received from God).

Jeremiah was called by name to be a prophet of the living God (Jer. 1:5). What differentiates one professional from another is that they have different call. Different call will place you in different fields. However, all of you are still the called of God.

So, be filled with confidence over your child. He's meant to be great on the surface of the earth. Apart from doing God's will, God gives calling for individual fulfilment on earth. Find that calling and order (train) your child to go in that way.

PRAYER: Lord, discover for us all those you have called by name into every area of human endeavour.

BORN AND NECESSITATED BY A NEED II - Your Baby Series 017

Matthew 1:21, KJV

"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins."

What does the Bible say about Jesus' birth and His purpose? "For He shall save His people from their sins." Not only the Jews' sins but by extension the Gentile world. This is manifested through the gospel that reached the Gentile world through Peter, Paul and others in sundry past and those He uses even now.

I told you that birth is for a need or purpose. Whether you reckon with it or not, God has a purpose in mind for which He'll be sending a human spirit to the earth if you're currently pregnant. You might not have found the reason but that was the first thing God had to settle before raising or thinking of sending a being to the earth.

He told Jeremiah, "before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations." While God speaks to a well grown man, yet He takes him back to the moment that predates his birth. God predestined Jeremiah for a definite purpose that long.

If you look at Jesus indeed, He lives to save people from their sins. He achieves this when He died on the cross, rose again and ascended to the Father. Thereby, He perfects the work of redemption and grants anyone who believes in Him eternal life like He has (John 3:16). No wonder, even John the Baptist calls Him, "the Lamb of God which takes away the sin of the world" (John 1:29).

Another verse talking about why He was revealed in the flesh says, "...for this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil" (1 John 3:8). When He accomplished redemption, He ultimately did this as well. However, Jesus did destroy the works of the devil. Wherever He goes, He scatters hell and brought the kingdom of God. The Bible speaking of this part of Him says, "the people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up" (Matthew 4:16, KJV). He brought light, ministry and ministration to His immediate dying world. He moved as an itinerant minister from one place to the other preaching the gospel to the poor, recovery of sight to the blind, cleansing of lepers, raising of the dead. In short, He destroyed the works of the devil by reversing all evil the devil has done to people in His days. He continues this through the Holy Spirit who's on earth today.

The superior of His purposes is the salvation and redemption He brought to human kind. No one was born for no purpose. Mark it and mark it well. God has a purpose in mind and it'll be good to intimate and team up with Him to fulfill same.

This is the story of how Jesus was born by a need and for a need. What need? That the prophecy and promise of a seed bruising the head of the serpent might be fulfilled (Gen. 3:15). Jesus conquered Satan, principalities and powers and even death (Col.2:15, I Cor. 15:55). This is the promise that moves down the line in Mathew 1:1-17 until it found Christ on whom it was designated to rest (Gen. 3:15). Your child was born for a need. Discover and align him for same.

PRAYER: Lord, may my child not miss the need or purpose for which he was born.

BORN AND NECESSITATED BY A NEED 1 - Your Baby Series 016

Luke 1:13, 17 KJV

"13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. 17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."

For years, Zacharias and Elizabeth couldn't birth a child. What baffles us is that they are blameless yet no seed comes their way. However, God keeps track record of our deeds. Just at the appearing of angel Gabriel, he tells of Zacharias' prayer having been answered and also announces the promise of a son who shall be named John.

When John was born, he was born or given for a need. That is revealed in what angel Gabriel told the dad he would do - turning the hearts of the disobedient to God and preparing a path for Jesus' coming. God doesn't give children to parents so that they can count figures or use them to boost their ego. That's carnal and a parochial way of thinking. He does rather for the sake of having vessels on earth to fulfill His own will and achieve His mandate. His kingdom has to be spread in commerce, entertainment, media, politics, sports, education etc and so He needs sons!

The need John would one day come to serve was even foretold long ago. Isaiah speaking says "the voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God" (Isaiah 40:3, KJV).

God has a need and now, after looking to and fro on the earth, He has found nobody to be attracted to other than Elizabeth and Zacharias. He knows they're righteous and blameless. He knows they can train the spirit He'll send in human flesh in a way that he won't stray from the purpose of being the forerunner of Christ. John was not given only for mockers to be shut up. No! He came with a label of 'must-do.' So, if God trusts you enough and sees you're prepared and ready to meet His need somewhere, under that difficult circumstance of yours, He'll raise a seed for you.

So, what is lacking that you think is needed in our society? Where (in what field or area) do you think God needs a sent one now? If you can mark such area and like Hannah hook to God with it, you might have an answer. All in all, once God has a need to meet, He raises a human spirit from before Him to come to the earth to get it done. This is the same reason for which Jesus, the Saviour of mankind came to the earth. There was a need! May you see needs and cry to God to send men for it. Jesus tells His disciples, "the harvest is plentiful but the labourers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest that He may send labourers" (Matt.9:37-38). Who will send labourers? God! You are not to recruit them. Don't make that mistake like many are doing today. Jesus said, for the need of labourers in your church or ministry, pray that the Lord of the harvest send them. Ministry is not where you place an advert for pastors. Jesus rather says what we do is to pray that they be sent to come. I pray for you that God will find you trustworthy enough to raise kids that'll take their mountains for Christ in Jesus' name. May you not have received seeds in vain from God!

PRAYER: God, I shall not disappoint your hope of raising seeds for You. Trust me! Pray for obedient spirit for your children to abide by your godly instructions.

WHEN GOD NEEDS A BODY TO PERPETUATE A PROPHECY OR A NEED THROUGH - Your Baby Series 015

I Samuel 1:11, KJV

"And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head."

This is one major reason why you cannot be barren or let me say why some of you can't be barren in this life. I once heard a man of God share the testimony of another minister who comes from the ancestry of ministers. If we should count him, he is the seventh generation of minister from his ancestors. However, he remains barren. Nothing was coming from his wife. Everything was just stagnant. He then went to God and told Him that he cannot be barren. He told God if he would like the lineage of the calling that started donkey years ago to end with him with no seed from him to also give to the Lord; only then will He allow his barrenness! As such, this man miraculously obtains a seed from the Lord.

God Himself testifying of Abraham says in Genesis 18:19, "for I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him." That has not left me. It means, "Abraham will perpetuate himself." It means what Abraham knows of Jehovah and how Abraham walked with Jehovah will not be allowed to die with him but passed like a baton. Another must run with it and those are his children. This is one of the reasons why God will disagree with your being cut off with the inability to produce a seed. God wants to propagate Himself and He has found nothing through which to do that but yielded and submissive vessels from godly Christians. He's looking for donors of such vessels. Don't forget that, "children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward" (Psalms 127:3, KJV). God's expectation once you have them is that you'll train them in the way they SHOULD go. Proverbs 22:6 says, "train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Once you do that by ordering them in God's way, then the Bible assures that they won't depart from it. Why? They'll be far gone in it. They'll have been steeped in it too much to recover. As such, the Lord will win over Satan at the gates. He will have souls through which He can destroy the works of the enemy from generation to generation.

When the prayer of Hannah coincides with what God is looking for - a prophet in the land, He turns to bless her with Samuel. Previously, Hannah must have wanted a child out of rivalry. She wanted to keep up and score a point as well. But when she realized it wasn't working and having been beaten to sensing God's need, she aligns with God's thought and only then did God send her a gift of a child.

Judah probably don't need to give birth to any child again if one of the seeds from his rightful wife had had the promise perpetuated through him. The one that could have done so was too young and Judah was not even ready to give him away in marriage to Tamar for fear of what might befall him even when he has now become older. But God's urgency and search for a seed is revealed in Tamar's sense of urgency, unrest and desperateness for one (not knowing she is being jealous for God). God Himself needed a seed at that moment! It is now and not later! As such and for the prophecy and promise that must be perpetuated, God chooses a seed out of the twins from Tamar/Judah's intercourse to perpetuate the promise of "a seed shall bruise the serpent's head" (Gen. 3:15).

Let me tell you something, when there is a promise or prophecy on your lineage or family that must be perpetuated, same thing happens. God will look for a seed and a body for Himself in any member or let's say qualified member of that family to continue with. If there's none readily available at hand, then a child will need to be birthed for such. Don't forget that the word of God's mouth can't be turned back lest He be taken for a liar. Due to this, God raises a seed for Himself always. For this reason, God will give you a seed. If you can be trusted to raise a godly seed on the surface of the earth for God (amidst the ongoing corruption and perversion). God will just be attracted to you. Do you know why? He wants to preserve and sustain Himself or better still godliness (and all of His righteous values). Anyone who will partner with God will never suffer a seed because God will be under obligation wanting to propagate Himself through your seeds.

For this reason, rejoice. You can't be barren! Promise and mean to avail God a body and you'll see the result.

PRAYER: [For waiting couples]: God, give us a seed and such shall be given you in return. Father, capacitate me to raise godly seeds in this perverted world.

CASTED ON GOD FROM THE WOMB - Your Baby Series 012

Psalms 22:9-10, KJV

"9 But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts. 10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly."

We have heard narratives of babies that were dumped and forsaken by their own parents. Such act can be properly called, "casting upon God." Psalms 27:10 says, "when my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up." Literally, this happen to Moses. When the reluctant hands of his mother was forced to let him go, he was at that time casted on the Lord. To be casted on the Lord means to be surrendered or released to Him (to take over the caretaker's or parental role). Since there's no other parent figure in one's life, it means one is solely trusting and left to survive on God. I once got here when I needed my school fees that immediately on campus. I knew what it was to be casted on God. I was very desperate, pressed by that need and awaited His salvation eagerly. I kept making confession, praying and fueling my faith for a miracle until one came.

There's an African proverb that literally says, "a tailless cow solely relies on God to help wade off flies." That means a helpless, surrendered or casted away person relies on no one but God to be his Hope Maker. And like Moses can testify, the Lord takes him up when his parents casted him on God.

Some of us one time or the other were casted on God. After my father's passing away, meeting with the family's obligation of seven children was too heavy for my mother. At one time, I couldn't pay my school fees and was literally casted on God. Yet, this was a family that once knew abundance. However, God on who I was casted and to whom I was released cared enough to miraculously pay it by giving me other men who took over as surrogate parents. I've experienced that over and over again. Till now and though I'm an adult, I'm still casted on God. I've not overgrown the care He can give me. I trust Him for my needs (though I work).

The Psalmist was casted upon God from the womb. This verse shows what relationship began to exist between him and God right from the very inception of his life in the womb. He's simply a child whose father and number one carer is God. Same can be said of Christ who has no earthly father but who was casted on God right from the womb. Even at His birth, one still sees the caring hands of God moving to shelter Him by the constant instructions He (God) gives for His safety. Only a parent and someone who has so much interest in you would do that.

Parents, let this be the kind of special relationship your children will have right from the womb with God. Like young Samuel who was given away to God at an early age, let your children be ones "casted and surrendered to God" that same way. Let them know God as their father, carer and number one sponsor. Create that sense in them that they can't be stranded because God is there as their ultimate parent even when you're not. Knowing this, they'll be bold like the psalmist to call God their ancient God who was with them even from the belly.

PRAYER: Pray for children in orphanages, war torn area, kidnappers' den etc that God, their Father and on whom they're casted will reach for them.

YOU'RE MY HOPE MAKER - Your Baby Series 011

Psalms 22:9, KJV

"But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts."

Say in a loud voice, "God, you're my hope maker!" God will continually give you hope even when you least expect.

Benson Idahosa as an infant was so sickly and insignificant that he would often faint. As a result of this constant illness, his father ordered the mother to cast him on the dung hill. When he was 18 months old, he was left on a rubbish heap to die but anyway picked up again to be nurtured to the realization of his calling, destiny or life's work. He did ministry supernaturally. You can't talk anything pentecostalism in Nigeria and Africa especially and jump his name. God is a great hope maker. He makes hope even for the despised, rejected and even the dead. The dead hears His voice and comes out! He makes hope! He's a Hope Maker! He can start with you again.

When a baby is given birth to, it looks tiny - probably 3kg. Just like we specially take care of plants in the nursery before transplanting to their final habitat, we do also give controlled care to babies in order to ensure their survival. That's how vulnerable babies are when just given birth to. That baby that's 3kg at birth could grow to become 90kg or even 100kg as an adult. But, his or her life started somewhere. There's a day of small beginning for him. All the future expectations of what he can become are potentials that are resided in him by God at his beginning. As he lives, he'll exercise them and attain it all. But, until then. That's why we give special care - measured care to them. You can't just expose your baby to the heat, cold or nutrition of an adult, let's say his dad. That's wanting to kill him or her deliberately which I believe can't be your intention. As such, we're careful to ensure our baby survives his or her period of vulnerability. Even baby Jesus got wrapped in a swaddling clothes (Luke 2:7). That ain't only for fashion but his protection.

David while still acknowledging God says, "thou made me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts." Does that statement wake up any realization in you? The realization that survival is not automatic for every born baby. Some were birthed but ultimately passed on. David acknowledged God as His hope maker even while a suckling. Idahosa could have passed on but he survived also.

I have assurance that your baby will survive also. He'll survive infancy into adulthood and then pass on to kingship. The Hope Maker will make him or her beat trouble, affliction, infants' sicknesses, mortality and all vulnerabilities. He'll survive all to thrive and fulfil his destiny. Say, "my baby survives all." He survives cold, heat, King Herod and even Egypt. Like Jesus survived, He'll survive.

PRAYER: Pray for every frail, dying child to receive healing, strength and recovery. May God make hope for them.

HAPPY WOMB ESCAPE  - Your Baby Series 010

Psalms 22:9-10, KJV

"9 But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts. 10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly."

When we celebrate birthday, what do we wish ourselves? You likely wished that fellow the other day, "long life and God's prosperity, happy womb escape" or in my manner, "long life and God's salvation" etc.

Irrespective of the caring wishes or salutation used, one thing is acknowledged. The fellow being wished those good things has escaped the womb to being in the here and now in our world. If he had not escaped the womb to seeing the world that be outside his or her mother's womb, those greetings or wishes wouldn't have apply? Hear what this psalmist says. "But thou art he that took me out of the womb." He refers to God Almighty as the doer. He credits Him with such deliverance. At that time of lament and acknowledgement of God as He who takes him out of his mother's womb, he is faced with besetting enemies who would spare nothing but give all it takes to swallow him up.

Psalms 22:12, KJV "Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round."

So, in his call to God, he tells Him to repeatedly give him deliverance and escape like He once did for him while he was housed in his mother's womb. If you know what the womb is, you'll acknowledge with me that it is a house which can even become a prison needed to be broken out of when delivery time peaks and has duly mounted. A time was when your baby stayed in your womb for safety, nutrition and just all that. However, another time came when he or she had to be released. Not releasing the foetus can lead to its discomfort and yours alike. As such, the womb can become a prison when ejection is not made at such time. But, thanks be to our God. The God of David, this psalmist is ours also. He acknowledges God for the no small deed of granting him escape from his mother's womb. As such, it's not a mere event when a woman delivers safely. Create that special sense in your kid that it was God who granted him escape from the womb to see the outside world for a purpose He sure knows and will like him to fulfill. Delivery isn't ordinary. It is God's granted salvation to the mother and the child alike. Both rejoice and long to be relieved. One, of her pregnancy; the other, from the womb. So, it's indeed "happy womb escape" to any one who now lives. Thank God you were not trapped in your mother's womb. While the remembrance of one's day of delivery reaches a crescendo and is usually celebrated on a marked birth day once a year, it should be our heartfelt acknowledgement to God that we were born. God knows about the psalmist's birth and granted him an escape. Yours isn't different. Praise Him. On your behalf, I say to God, "thanks for the womb escape of today's reader."

PRAYER: Pray for safe delivery and passage of all foetus. Nothing shall hold back their delivery.
