DREW OUT OF THE WATER - Your Baby Series 003

Exodus 2:10, KJV

"And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water."

Why would a mother choose a name, "drew out of the water" for her child? Experiences have been regarded as one of the factors that necessitates what name a child bears. Moses is no exception of this. He is a survivor of water that could have drowned him. Looking back therefore, Pharaoh's  daughter (his new parent) who knows his background found no other suitable name to call him but, "drew out of the water". This name alludes to God's salvation wrought on Moses. The Bible says in Psalm 91:16, "with long life will I satisfy you and show you my salvation." Salvation means deliverance, rescue or escape in this context.

When she was revealing to our news correspondents why she named the child presented to her "Moses", she said, "because I drew him out of the water!"

Let us be men full of understanding. In essence, this dark or black Egyptian (African) woman is saying, "I can't forget how he was saved. He could have died. He was a baby meant to die but at a turning, he was saved." Reminiscing over Moses' miraculous deliverance, this young chap got the name, "drew out of the water."

First, this name is full of appreciation and past remembrance. It's to call Moses himself to the awareness of his special destiny as one in debt to God almighty (who had saved him). Moses was just a baby when the event happened. He wouldn't know if he wasn't told. However, this remembrance of God's salvation (coded in his name) would lead him to enquire why he was named, "drew out of the water." Knowing he was drew out of the water, he himself can't but come to gratitude and be full of sensitivity to the fact that God has a use or purpose for him later on in his life. His school mates who don't know better might call him, "waterboy" but the correct interpretation of the event that could have claimed his life would lead him to self estimation and identity. Moses can't but find himself therefore! He won't be a lost soul like others who couldn't find themselves because they couldn't see an uncommon thing or uniqueness that speaks volumes about their non-ordinariness. That experience which reveals God's interest in him from babyhood would lead him to seek that for which God saved him from drowning.

This story of Moses tells of the many dangers that babies can be exposed to for which we have a sure promise that they'll all be saved from them with none of their bones ever breaking.

God's salvation or deliverance is sure over your baby. Even in the water, on land or in the air, He'll go all out for them. Your baby is the "drew out of the Lord" whenever the messes of life come with high hopes of messing them up. The testimony will be, "the event came but God's grace saved them." They can't be shamed. They'll rather be "drew [rescued]" out of danger. Escape and deliverance will locate them and that right early.

PRAYER: Lord, let your potent protection and shield like a rainbow in the sky and a tent cover my kid(s).

INDEED, MOSES IS SPECIAL! - Your Baby Series 002

Exodus 2:5-6, KJV

"5 And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it. 6 And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children."

That's the story of how God ran to save Moses and have him adopted by Pharaoh's daughter.

I began yesterday by showing you how special Moses was. His being unusual was sensed by his parents who moved swiftly to preserve him (whether he might indeed be preserved by their doing from the king's harsh and looming command of death).

However, there was an extent they could go and not go further. After three months of hiding Moses, they concur to the impracticality of continuing, else they are disclosed big time. On this wise, they were forced and seriously necessitated to yield him up. Observe their love for Moses in not wanting to yield him up at all despite how consequential they knew defying Pharaoh's order would be. That's the typical mother's or parents' love working for their kids. The Bible says in Isaiah 49:15, "Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.?"

The answer is almost an impossibility if not an impossibility. That affection is just there to protect what is yours. You're naturally called to duty for them. However, when Moses' parents couldn't go any further, they released the rein to God and He didn't disappoint. He immediately picks up Moses and finds him an adopted mother.

That act of God in picking him up after he was kind of forsaken by his parents is what I'm specializing on today. I said in yesterday's devotional that what is special is valuable to us and protected likewise. The fact that Moses isn't ordinary but has a special destiny to fulfill is seen in the fact that when his mother releases him to the Nile, God rushes to pick him up. So, it isn't only the parents who now seeks to preserve Moses (by making a waterproof cot for him) but God is also there to save him that rightly by providing him with a legal uncontested adoption. Have you read the Bible portion which says, "on their hands they'll bear you up lest you dash your foot on a stone" (Psalm 91:12). That exactly is how prompt Moses' deliverance was. God rushed and caught him!Let me tell you something. Any child with a uniqueness, specialness and unusuallity of destiny is such that cannot dash his foot on a stone. When they tumble, they always fall into God's hands. Even if such baby or child is on his way to hitting the ground, God will rush and send His troops to bear him up. There will just be salvation (an eleventh hour escape from the blues or less thought off quarters). That's what happen to Moses. He's an investment of God. He's a tool in God's hands who must grow up to discharge why he was birthed. So, he must not die as a baby. Rather, all things must be put in place for his survival until his time of appearing and manifesting his divine destiny (which the mother smelt at his birth) be fulfilled.

This series 002 is laying emphasis on the fact that God is specially interested in that foetus in your womb, that baby on your knees or that child at the creche. They all have their unique and special destiny and it has now become God's responsibility to make hope for them until they fulfill what was written of them in the volume of God's book. The psalmist talks of God making hope for him at his mother's breasts. As such he didn't die. He survived to live on.

Psalms 22:9, KJV

"But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts."

The testimonies of your children - those unique babies of yours is Isaiah 43:2 which says, "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee."

Destiny children may begin to face hell from childhood but that hell won't take or consume them. They'll come forth as gold. Escape will be theirs from the Lord. Therefore, I declare that your baby shall live. Is any baby being prepared for a surgical operation there, you shall survive? God shall put resources, circumstances and people in your future just for the fulfilment of your destiny. I call providence and the arm of God to see you off on your journey. So shall it be for your children. Amen.

PRAYER: El-shaddai, the great carer and loving God from whom come all good and perfect gifts, cut a covenant of preservation with my kid(s).

A SPECIAL BABY DESERVES A VIGILANT CARE - Your Baby Series 001

Exodus 2:2-3, KJV

"2 And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months. 3 And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink."

For some days, I'll be speaking on destiny or calling or the life's  work of your baby or child. I want to show you God has ordained that your baby (either in the womb or on your knees now) be ordered in some ways. Before then however, I might need to introduce to you parents' jealousy over their wards.

A man of the house of Levi went and found to marry a daughter of the house of Levi. This union produces Moses, God's prophet. Only for Moses to be birthed at a time Hebrew children are being killed. When he was born, his mother couldn't let go because she could see that Moses was a special child. Specific disclosures on what makes Moses special aren't categorically given. One may dangle whether it is physical tangibility or just the smelling of the unusuality of Moses' destiny. However, it could have been both as well. If we should consult some other Bible versions, you'll hear all these said about Moses.

"...She saw that he was a special baby and kept him hidden three months" (NLT).

"When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him three months" (NIV).

"She saw there was something special about him and hid him" (The MSG).

In all these translations, we  contact Moses' uniqueness in varying language descriptions. Either something physical or just the sensing of his destiny; Moses' mother sees right. What God wants her to see in her child is what she saw. As such, she leaves the category of parents who don't see any uniqueness or attached value in their kid. This ability to see and identify correctly what her child carries now leads to the special cherishing of Moses. How?

We read that she refused to yield Moses up when she could have done so earlier. Despite Pharaoh's command, she dared to risk her own life for Moses.

Hebrews 11:23, KJV

"By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment."

She must have secretly believed that God would revoke the king's commandment within the time of hiding Moses. Though nothing came the way she expected change, yet God took another way to spare Moses' life.

What am I saying? When you observe and measure certainly that your baby is not ordinary, you want to pay closer and stronger attention to him. Since we give our time and valuables to protect what is dear to us, you'll as well see to it that your special children in every way possible have the best that God ordains for them and the best you can give. It is this that'll lead you to preserve them for their destiny, calling or life's work. When Moses' mother hid him, she did because of the special destiny that's ahead of Moses that she could perceive. I'll theorize assuredly now that what she saw must have transcended physical  handsomeness of Moses. Don't forget that this mother of Moses is from the tribe of Levi and a Hebrew woman. There must have been certain things that her training and special knowledge of God must have availed her on Moses. Due to that, she becomes more jealous for him. She wouldn't give him up and when she eventually does because circumstances mandated her, she did all her best to ensure Moses' safety. She takes a special cover and house for Moses. She had to daub it with slime and pitch so that water will not penetrate it and as that ark or cot was released, she commits Moses to God's care in tears. Indeed, God proves worthy. He appears to draw Moses out of the water. It's from this experience Moses got his name meaning "drew out of the water" (Exo.2:10).

As we journey on this new series, parents and sponsors should pay attention. God is saying, "one major reason why parents will give their best to the human spirit He has sent to them (now in human flesh) is having a revelation of that gift as no ordinary one.  A baby is not common though common. If you have it, it is a gift from God and He wants you to exercise special jealousy over them like Moses' mother does. This jealousy categorically should be in protecting them from distractions so they can fulfill their destiny as ordained for them by God and as it might have been consequently revealed to you - the parents (just as Moses' mother smelt his destiny).

I pray that you won't trivialize with what makes your child special as to jettison it or the training that can groom him for pseudo ones. May you rather cling to the specialness of your child and with all your strength preserve and raise him to discharging just that.

PRAYER: Father of all spirits, open my eyes to see and smell the destiny (uniqueness) of my kid(s) and preserve them for same.

BROODING!

Genesis 1:2, KJV

"And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."

The word, "moved" as used here is translated "brooded" in some other versions and I'll say that vividly portrays my description of today. The Message Version of the Bible says, "God's Spirit brooded like a bird above the watery abyss."

First, let me say this to you. You have a capacity in you and it is powerful. Your mind has an energy that can be unleashed to vibrate, hover or move on things until they are cracked. That's why God gave us the mind. It's to be able to incubate and crack eggs of difficulties. Man is made an explorer and since God says He should rule over creation, what he has found with which to do that is actually his mind. As in, the exercise and applying of his mind to master and subdue nature. That's also why some would tell others, "use your mind". Do you know why? They have discovered the latent power of the mind that there's no difficulty or problem that it can't dig a solution for especially if it'll keep at it. It may take longer, time might pass and pass but if this machine called the mind won't also stop but keep rolling and thinking of what best way to meet a need or attend to a problem in the human community, it'll surely draw an answer.

Through your constant and long digging or brooding, you'll get where you have turned layers of layers of hard rocks to reach the depth of the mineral resources (solution) you are looking for. Have you seen how well are sunk before? When those experts dig for water, they'll first bypass many layers of soil and stones/rocks before they'll begin to contact what they're looking for. As a matter of fact, the first water they contact may not be the cleanest or safest to drink. So, they might need to explore or dig further until a cleaner water springs forth from the deep or oasis that can't be shaded any longer.

That exploring machine is our mind. God wants you to use your mind. I know you have the Holy Spirit which is your sixth sense. I'm not advocating that you throw Him out. I'm only saying, "explore with your mind at the overseeing of the Spirit." Put your mind to what you're doing first of all. If your mind is reading right, you won't have a solution that'll be detrimental to the human world. Just by brooding and brooding still over a problem in our human community that you want to solve, the Holy Spirit could aid or energize your mind towards insightful solutions also. However, those solutions don't come easily. They're products of long meditations or brooding. But when they finally arrive, you'll discover them to be gems. You'll propose them and people would ask, "where did that come from?"

Why everybody doesn't produce ideas that turn the world upside down is because some people's thinking are shallow. To think and dig still in thinking is laborious to them. They see it as troubling oneself. Yet, God gave us the mind just to delve or fish for breakthroughs. There's no problem of human that can't be solved if brooding will not stop on it. That's why inventors, scientists and all others are still working till now on some besetting human problems in their closets. They hope for solutions. Sooner or later, there'll be a breakthrough, an intervention, invention and a breaking in into the revelation that have been withheld till hitherto. At the beginning, God's Spirit brooded over the waters. It goes to and fro, back and forth; it hovers like an helicopter. After that long brooding or hovering, God had scanned and picked what the problem was and what solution to apply to have it solved. What the next verse says is that, "and God said, let there be light..." God knew only what would be needful by first investigating, inspecting, ruminating, brooding and cultivating the waters. Afterwards, He knows what to introduce as He commences the works of creation. He brought light in. But first, He had to gather data on which He would later act.

Brood! Dig! Think! Be constant in it! Mind is the master! Engage it! God created it to give you light if you'll dig or explore with it. The farther you dig, the clearer the options would be before you. So, explore and engage all the latent power of your mind.

PRAYER: Father, anoint my mind for special workings and understanding.

WHERE THERE'S A WILL; THERE'S ALWAYS A WAY

Read II Sam.13:1-15

II Samuel 13:1-2, KJV

"1 And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her. 2 And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and Amnon thought it hard for him to do anything to her."

The title of today's devotional has been found out to be truth both by believers and unbelievers alike. It is truth undeniable that where there's a will, there's always a way. Even when there was no way before, one would be created or even cut in the rocks and that'll be because there was a strong desire - unquenchable one to have a pass. There wasn't a way for Israel in the Red Sea at the start but because of the will, urgency and need for a way, there came one where we all least expected. Oooooh, how I want to have the desire that cannot be quenched until it is satiated! The earth is never quenched until it has soaked in rain. Same way, may you remain thirsty towards your goal until it is achieved.

Look at Amnon, crippled and bedridden because of his fascination and desire for his half sister, Tamar. He is so obsessed with her that he can't go about any work. He lusts after her until he's sick with lust. His lust has therefore gotten where it'll transform into sin and sin into death (even a physical death of him later in his life). But there's a will in him. Though he couldn't think of a way to achieve his purpose, he's desperate on the inside to see it come through. Don't forget what I said yesterday, "to the man with hot desire or image of something before his mind's eyes, to such man will a miracle happen to birth same desire."

What happens next? Jonadab comes to visit him. That isn't a mere coincidence. That is a conspiracy from forces beyond to ensure that his desire is achieved. He didn't know how to but someone who knows how to appears to counsel him to lay sick and ask of the king to send Tamar to dress meat for him. That way, he'll be able to fulfill his lust on her sister.

Don't forget that lust is a strong desire for someone or something. As a strong desire, it can place whatsoever you want or wish in your hands. Amnon didn't think of Tamar once. No! He rather sets Tamar before himself. I started teaching on that principle yesterday. That culminates in his being sick with lust, in his being intensely obsessed after her (not considering how shameful it would be raping her). This principle is proven over the ages. "Where there's a will, there's always a way." How many of you have observed that flowing water always find and create its own path. If a flood takes a direction and meets with an obstacle (let's say a stone or a rock) that it can't pass through, push away by shifting or sifting, what it does is to bypass it to continue to progress and flow on. That's what happens when you have a strong desire to see something happen. Though there be many obstructions, a path or solution shall be found for you. Amnon couldn't think of a solution by himself but the forces of desire drew somebody in at the time he needed it most (who was with his solution). Such is life. Where there's a will; there's always a way.

Do you have aspirations? Are you planning on becoming someone in God's will? Fill your breast with that thing. Often, I picture myself speaking to multitude of people and that's what has been happening to me when I receive invites to minister. While at home, one habit I often indulge in is that of teaching or preaching to nobody especially when I've just hit on a revelation. I'll say it works. That also constitutes my rehearsal before my debuting to minister what I have caught when invited indeed. What am I illustrating? Fill your whole self with what you want to achieve or become and you'll see that thing override, overtake and possess you so much that there'll be a covenant of heaven and the earth to see it achieved. If that thing requires certain men and offices to be coordinated for you, you'll see them all fall in place. I've seen it on my destiny journey. To the man with a will, there's always a way.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to keep my focus. Help me not to cool down until I become all in my soul. Make a way for me.

THE POWER OF VISUALIZATION

Genesis 30:37-38, KJV

"37 And Jacob took him rods of green poplar, and of the hazel and chestnut tree; and pilled white strakes in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods.38 And he set the rods which he had pilled before the flocks in the gutters in the watering troughs when the flocks came to drink, that they should conceive when they came to drink."

First of all, there's a level of strangeness in what Jacob does here. It takes divine inspiration or revelation to have believed peeling whites in rods would enable the flock give birth to spotted animals like they'll see and be accustomed to overtime. As such, we're seeing the place of divine prompting or inspiration where an idea that you were thinking less of breaks into your mind. Such ideas are potential miracles if they'll be farmed, explored or dug. There's no time I worked on the inspiration from the inside that it didn't work. It ranges from suggestive leading to ring someone at a particular time or ask someone a particular question.

We all know how Laban goes further to deny Jacob his newly set wages of separating the spotted cattle for himself. Finding out, Jacob only takes a step. He cuts rods of poplar, hazel and chestnut trees and peel whites in their green backgrounds. With the power of faith and mind visualization, he believes those animals would give birth to spotted kids just by accustoming themselves with the spotted images in the rods. Indeed, he turns out to be right. Often as the animals feed and drink in the gutter, contacting the spotted rods, they overtime assimilated the image placed before them. As such, they gave birth to that expectation.

What is God saying to us today? You can visualize it until it happens. You can set an image, an event or a desire before the face of your mind until it eventually happens. The mind is activated by what we constantly fuel it with. If you continue to feed your mind with images of being called out as the best excelling student of your set, you'll receive energy and wisdom to labour more than other students and see same achieved. Until it happens, you won't just give your self rest because there's an image that you have absorbed that you're seeking to replicate. This same principle is what many people indulge in until they fornicate or rape someone. They keep fueling their minds with the evil, condemned and unjust thoughts of sleeping with someone until their mind and body is forcefully charged towards fulfilling that. As such , initiatives as to how to fulfill that and make it happen jumped to them from nowhere until they had done that wickedness that God hates.

The psalmist while talking says, "I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved" (Psalm 16:8). Man, listen, what you set (put before the face of your mind and leave there for long) is what will fill you with such energy to birth according to the image with which you've been fed. I have practiced that principle many times. I set a target and then put that target before me. I let it be my thought, discourse and sharing with people. Withing a limited time, I'll see myself have it. An energy will rise from me to meet it. Help will come to accomplish it. God will create a way. I could even set aside fund for it continually and uncompromisingly until I purchase it. That was how I got the Bible I now used. I just set the thought of owning a new KJV Bible before me and after awhile of burning with the thought, someone gave me one.

If you can visualize it, it'll keep you hungry to reproduce it and I assure, you'll have it. You will just attract it. There's power in positive thinking!

PRAYER: As a man thinks, so is he. Help my mind to be set on my calling and high affections.

MORNING WINGS DAILY DEVOTIONAL  - Olusola ADEJUMO

MASTER OF CREATION

James 3:3, KJV

"Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body."

If you've been to the slaughter house or seen cows being made ready for slaughter, you'd be shocked at such control that humanity weaves over creation. No matter how refuting the animal may be, he can't just but eventually go down. The size doesn't matter, how intimidating it is doesn't count. What matters is the man who's fearless and equipped with all wisdom to subdue it to the slab.

This image is the same we have in today's anchor verse. The fact that God has given humanity dominion over all of creation could be seen in his subduing grace over it. Horses at their beginning were all wild animals. However, man found a way of domesticating them. Even the domesticated ones are still as stubborn as anything. They're specially strong, wanting to go their own way. For this reason, humanity designs a means of subduing it. He invents the bits which gives the horses away and allows access to turn her whole body whithersoever the rider wants. Without the bits, the horse is not bridled and will only remain a danger. As such, its strength has to be harnessed and wisely concentrated or deployed for use. Yet, what amazes me is such wisdom of man to subdue and bring under rule an animal very fierce for that matter. A horse's kick is reputed strong enough to kill a human. That's why horses are the number one choice animals for battles. Yet, man could bring them and all of creation under subduing to the extent of listing them wherever they want. As powerful or as dangerous a horse is, once it's bridled, it has been captured. This imagery is the colonizing technique of man over all of creatures. The Bible speaking testifies of this, "for every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind" (James 3:7).

Humanity has successfully tamed them all. Reptiles are the most irritating and scary of the animals man wants to have to do. However, you could even have snakes as pets! They've been disarmed. How did we get here if not for the mastery of nature and exercise of authority over it. Mastering the air reaches its peak when humanity built the plane that could travel in the air just like birds do. Yet, it accomplishes that successfully. That is a kind of mastery. The water and underwater aren't spared. From the exploration of the sea bed for mineral resources to the building of great architectural works in water, this mastery and subduing prowess of man over all of creation is seen. Man has been able to train fishes (i.e dolphin), birds (pigeon) and even several animals for several functions. This amidst others is the exercise of man's dominion over creature.

It is this dominion that has made us to have the several advancements or improvements we might have had now. If not, we'd not evolved from the early years of human advancement. Yet, all these achievements were at the Word of God which authorizes man and says, "let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, fowls of the air, creeping animals and over all of creatures." May things be put under your feet! May nothing overgrown you in life. May you be in charge and remain in charge. Amen!

PRAYER: I am in charge. I remain in charge.
