FORM WITHOUT POWER; LEAVES WITHOUT FRUITS

Read Mark 11:12-14

II Timothy 3:5, KJV

"Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away".

Form without power! Take some time out to think what it means. Have you seen a very beautiful vehicle before until you discover it's under repair and has no engine? If you had tried starting it, it wouldn't have kicked or moved an inch. 

"Form of godliness" is simply a deceptive appearance that any could carry. "Form of godliness" is not godliness itself. Form of godliness is what makes some appear as Christians afar off but upon closer scrutiny, they're revealed as no Christians because they don't live what they project out. He might have been Christianized while bearing John, Janet and professing same. He might put on the cross, tuck in or covers her head often only to discover that these forms that attracted you to him aren't leading to any life to substantiate the appearance you've seen. He may be the greatest liar, fornicator or adulterer of all seasons. In today's reading, Jesus journeys with the disciples and was attracted by a fig tree with plenty leaves from afar. When Jesus saw it, He humanly thought the tree would have fruits - figs. On that basis, he walked in hope of fetching fruits from this fig tree only to discover that this fig tree has been living a deceptive life and using same to command attention to itself. It poses as one with fruits yet without fruits. Its having much leaves and looking very much decorated from up down would convince anyone from afar to hope fetching a thing from it. However, only a form is what this fig tree shoots out. The main thing that it should have - for which Jesus (who was at that time hungry) and many others would have set out after was absent. Fruits were lacking. It therefore denies the power thereof because it has failed to meet expectation on what is really being sought. There be many Christians like that.  

Check if you're not being described. Do you look like it somewhere but you're not it? You look like reality but you're pseudo. Brass also looks like gold you know but ain't gold! When that place says, "having the form of godliness but denying the power thereof", it was nailing having a form of godliness and intentionally crafting to put on the sheep skin when one is a wolf. In life, you must know what is substance or wheat being sought after different from the chaff being rejected or to be jettisoned. Many times in the Bible, vivid and lucid examples were given to draw lines of distinctions between the wheat and the chaff. The wheat is the real eatable substance that anyone retains from grains or cereals while the chaff is what we let go. The chaff is so empty and light that a little breeze of air would carry it off. That's why a place in Psalm 1 says these:

Psalms 1:4-5, KJV

"4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous".

Have you seen how incapable chaff are in resisting the wind even naturally? They can't but be driven away since they lack the substance that could make it difficult for the wind to drive them off as mere particles. As distinctive the distinction between wheat and chaff is, so is the distinction between "form of godliness" and "its power thereof". If you have a form of godliness, repent from using that to make people feel at home with you before being taken aback [though you might have used them or had your way with them before their discovery]. Thirst after its power thereof - which is a life of Christ. Let corresponding characters or fruits of the Spirit be proofs [Gal.5:22-23].

PRAYER: Lord, let me meet expectation and requirements. May I resemble You and not be a bastard professing to be Christ's. Does the foundation of the Lord not stand sure? The Lord knows His.

OPEN UP AND ACCEPT YOUR PROPHECY/CALL

READ Luke 1:26-38

Luke 1:38, KJV

"And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her."

No matter how much you desire a baby, if you refuse to open up to a man or be assisted with his sperm, you will not have one. You'll only have one except the miracle of divine conception is wrath on you like we have here. Meanwhile, this is a reserved miracle except God comes to you and gives you a promise of it. God did it once and He has broken the mould by which He wrath it. He wrath it for His glory and the honour of the vessel that accepted that blemish-bringing call. 

Those that became mothers opened up to a man. They allowed him have his way with them so that the preemptive result could be birthed. In today's passage, after Mary had reasoned the possibility of the prophecy coming to pass by asking, "how will this thing be?" and had been told how possible it is since she'll be Holy Ghost assisted and divinely overshadowed by the power of the Most High, she then accepts the prophecy. She shows willingness and submission in being the one that will give birth to that holy thing. She said, "who am I except God's handmaiden? Be unto me according to your word (desire)". It means I am not for myself. I am for someone and whatsoever is His will for me can be done on me. I submit. I open up. Have your way Father. A tool I am: a vessel and I submit". These were things Mary said and at acceptance, conception took place promptly. 

The prophecy of divine conception was brought her ago but she was reasoning it and asking how. Since she has not accepted it by showing interest in carrying such call of reproach (becoming pregnant without knowing a man but through what society will contest), conception never happened. God seeks your consent before He'll use you too. He doesn't force Himself on people. If He calls you and you're yet to agree to what He said He'll use you for, the call may be suspended until you show interest and come into agreement one day or you may finally be substituted. Know that if God has given you a dream, vision or revelation and He calls you to come into ministry for instance to co-labour with Him to get a thing done, that call will be waiting until you say YES. Marrying a revealed person is also a call. Until Mary surrendered and said, "Your will, not mine", conception was rather withheld.

Today, God wants you to open up. A woman who needs a baby don't struggle with the husband if she wants to be pregnant. She rather accepts his proposal to come in. She gives him free hand to do with her as deemed fit and chosen by him. This permission will then lead to pregnancy. You may not know how glorious your future is until you accept and walk the road of the calling. Will you say to God today like Mary did over the matter the Spirit has been contesting with you that, "I am your handmaiden (a servant), do with me whatsoever you choose". If you'll see the aftermath, you must accept. Gabriel departed after the acceptance of Mary to carry that call and didn't have cause to come to persuade Mary over same again because she has agreed once and for all. Some of you are making God revisit you. God is merciful. Until you accept or finally become reprobate, He'll keep bringing that call to you. The sheet didn't leave finally until Peter had exhausted his chances [Acts 10]. It is yours to say, "okay" or "no" to. However, I counsel you, say, "yea". The call may be reproached today but silences mockers tomorrow.

PRAYER: Lord, the special call that will in turn be to my honour, which you offer me, may I see and embrace.

TO THE SALTLESS SALT

READ Judges 16

Matthew 5:13, KJV

"Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men."

It is a saltless salt that we call 'good for nothing'. One which has no more value but to be thrown out and useless by men. It is a dog that can't bite that is dared. If the saltless salt however receives his savour back, who sure can face it to embarrass same? Today, God is coming for ministers that have been shaven. Condemned prisoners or patients in wards. For as many whose case has been signed and sealed to have ended, such like you is set to witness the rise of an army.  A great come back! A recalling back to the former days!  It happened to the dry bones that none thought could be called back to stand on their two feet. Their former state vacated when breath entered into them. Today, the slain and long forgotten soldiers in the sand of time who were once on God's mountain shall be restored. Your place you shall again take.  Reinstatement to what you use to do and who you use to be is happening now in Jesus name. 

Samson was shaven. At the Spirit's departure, he was captured and then reduced to a none entity. Instead of being in the field wrecking havoc on God's enemy, he was in the prison grinding. Purpose and assignment always change once anointing is lost. They disarmed him to the extent that he needed help to be led. Samson acknowledged his fault. He didn't argue not sinning. He begged rather for God's remembrance as to be able to do like the former days and be a useful vessel even once again in his dilapidated state. This, the Lord must have granted him. The mistake the enemy also made to aid him made a come back was to only cut Samson's hair and not his throat. Therefore making him a living dead. Like we know, no condition is hopeless if there's still life.

Ecclesiastes 9:4, KJV

"For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion."

He was in this condition until his hair began to grow. An appearance of unsuspected hope where it had been cut off. This is how at the scent of water, Samson bud up again. Have you lost your anointing? Have you by so many persuasions being assured it has ended for you? Who knows whether if you yourself is asked whether your dry bones could live, you'll say in disbelief and caution as not to be termed unbelieving that "only God knows?"

Even if it has gotten there, it has not if your life has not been cut off. Even in that most critical condition, the lifeless bones still lived. The hopeless can still receive hope also. He came for Samson and his last day exploit surpassed all he had done in total ahead of time. Can you find a place to grab the horns of the altar like Joab did and cry to the Rekindler of hope to snap you awake once and forever more. The work is yours to do. This is grace hour. God's ears are opened to receive your petition. It is now "ask of me the heathen and I'll make them your inheritance". Find a place to crest or lean on, fall off your face and let Him know you've tasted how it is being without the Spirit. Let Him know you'll cherish Him than before if He comes back. Your education is now full. Nothing lacking. A broken and a contrite heart, He doesn't reject.

PRAYER: [For others]. Lord, let me not learn the value of the Spirit by first losing it. May a season in ward not make me cherish freedom. May time in hospital not make me cherish good health and walk in such advantage.

WHEN TO TAKE AN OPPORTUNITY

Read John 5:1-8

John 5:3-4, KJV

"3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. 4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had."

What makes opportunity opportunity is the ripe time attached to it. Opportunity has deadline. If an institution is doing bonanza and you arrive after it ended, you may not be a partaker of their generosity. So, time is what makes opportunity relevant to humans. Opportunities are made for humans but humans must be made for it and then press into it. That's why a statement says, "strike the iron while it's hot!". Another also gives the reason for what appears to be the sudden promotion of some. It says, "time and chance happens to them all".

Ecclesiastes 9:11, KJV 

"I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all."

If that be, it means opportunities can make irrelevant and nonsense of qualifications at times. 

Let me ask you, if any of the invalids jumps into the pool afore it was stirred or after an inmate has tapped into the pool's residing virtue, will such fellow still be healed? The answer is no because we have an express instruction that says once the water is contacted by anyone upon stirring, only such receives his healing as the residing healing virtue is once and for all consumed. Let others in their droves rush in or lament their having being long there, yet they won't still receive healing because the power there is a disposable healing power and not always resident.

The Lord spoke to me and I heard. He said, "there's a time to take opportunities." He said, "don't come late because those who do aren't always partakers."

Have you seen surfers before? Do they carry themselves or they surf on the capacity of the wave? Have you researched the eagle also? Did you see that it also rides on the back of the wings to soar? In soaring, it just stretches its wings while the tempest bears it. No struggle, no effort, no insistence that it must work. 

The floating and soaring effortlessness offered by these two natural things are what opportunities are to us humans. Once you can keep watch: be awake and aware as to decipher an opportunity for what it is, what follows is for you to strike it. This is how some became wealthy. They received a stirring or heart direction towards something. They did it and it was a result. I've reaped great result by following the Spirit's leading in this wise also though I've been slow at times but I thank God who deals gently with me as a Father. It was told of a minister who met some other minister friends and asked them all to pull a particular percentage of their monies together in order to buy a particular portion of land that he often sees and which all of them also know. This man saw the land over time with heart's persuasion towards it before uttering it to them. However, none of the friends budged. They said, "why should they spend their money on a land that doesn't has prospects since the land isn't well situated?" This minister who received that heart felt persuasion won't let go. He rather pulled fund together and bought the land. It was some years after that one of the U.S. State Governments approached him for the land. That's how he rode on the wings of opportunities to become well by selling it to them. Yet, he got the land very cheaply years back. 

Look, don't miss opportunities. Your not missing it is actually tied to your own sensitivity. If you read that John 5, you'll see that all those invalids are sensitive watchmen, carefully keeping vigil for the arrival of the stirring angel. They know their lives depend on knowing when he arrives and when the stirring has been done. Those who feels dizzy can't take of that opportunity let alone those who sleep. 

One time, I needed to obtain something. When I woke up to doing that, I  discovered that the possibility for that was just closed. It pained me. I promised myself with all revenge that I won't miss the next one. Then, it was another year. Around a particular month, I observe that whenever I pray and also very often outside prayer, my mind would always go to the matter with heart persuasions to call and enquire from somebody. Over a month, I'll receive this heart persuasion but left it unattended to. Somehow, I just didn't call the person I knew had expert's say on the thing. Then one day, I was in prayer and the Lord confronted me with the consequences of missing it again due to carelessness and lack of prompt action. Before then, the Lord had staged like two embarrassing occurrences to bring me to a rude realization of how I must be awoken. It was when the final hard saying came in prayer I even remembered the  previous two rude incidents. Did you see how human ministers could also be?

So, I enquired. Believe it. The expert involved told me, "it has been available since." She even begs me for having forgotten not to update me since I've called her over time reminding her of my need to catch that opportunity. Yet, my life and future depended on that thing! 

Look, others may slumber but you must know it's your sole responsibility not to miss anything that God is offering you as an opportunity. Of course, it will come cheaply, relieving and satisfactory. If you miss it, you will have to wait another cycle of time to get it done. Some times, it doesn't even show up again. It just looks like a life line opportunity.

I pray for you that you will be conscious as you receive also a fresh baptism of time and what it says. "Knowing what time says is superior to having money at hand!" If when your opportunity is at hand you don't act correspondingly, you'll miss it and later lament. Some have money at hand but yet don't understand time. So, they wrongly invested or reaped the natural void of what opportunities give. May you not lament. May your spouse, land, house, wealth not finally depart to another. Also, the Lord might be talking to somebody to make enquiry and confirm because that, "the time for what you've been expecting is here." So, strike it now and see the result!

PRAYER: Let the Spirit bear me up and aid me where I need remembrance. May I not be stubborn, sluggish or procrastinating. I'm on time.

IF YOU DO WELL

Genesis 4:6-7, KJV

"6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him."

God wants you know that there's no authority that should be terror to good work. By godly ordaining, they are to commend good and fall upon evil works.

Romans 13:3, KJV

"For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:"

In today's reading, God commended Abel over Cain. Both of them brought offerings to the Lord but one won God's approval and so was commended while the other was corrected to emulate doing well also. God is seen as an authority whose right it is to commend or ask for more. He did just that. 

All authorities wherever they may be must know that it's their exclusive right to be terror to evil works and praiser of good works. Never feel you'll be making enemies or make your followers/workers enemies of themselves if you give commendation to one but ask the other to do better. They may see it so but that shouldn't deter you. As long as you're not biased in rewarding, then you will have a clear conscience to implement such and continually have their respect.

God while speaking to Cain said, "if you do well, will you not be accepted?" 

So, there shouldn't be any system that applauds people that doesn't do well above those that does well. If you find yourself in a system and what goes on there is the sacrifice of good for evil, then you're not well situated. Such system can destroy you and make you a man of evil intention and evil act. 

God is a very just One. He exhibited fairness where we read. God isn't partial or discriminatory like Cain by his being angry feels God is. Rather, God has just discharged as a good leader should divide between those who have done well and those who haven't. 

God said, "if you do well, will you not be accepted?  This shows God is not judging by any other standard but that of "doing well." God was saying, "don't think I hate you. If you had done well like your brother, I would have commended you." He knew God was justified over him. He knew he had not done well indeed. It pained him and he couldn't argue it with God. He knew just like God knew that he hadn't done well. Don't be one of such that it is at reward time they blame themselves for the job they could have done or done better. 

All leaders, authority figures etc must learn from God. You must know what to encourage and discourage by what you commend or withhold commendation from. When God commended Abel, God indirectly was telling him to act that way the more and not change. When God didn't commend Cain, God was saying, there's a thing to repair. Do that and you'll be accepted. For as many that are angry, feels cheated, embarrassed, discriminated against etc, because someone was righteously and sincerely commended over you by an authority figure in your lives; you must know you're not owned an apology. The question you should ask yourself is, "if I do well, will I not be accepted."

You should rather be sorry for not doing well and seek to win approval next time. Your person, your work or act etc that was not commended was because you didn't do well. The criteria for judging is opened to all to evaluate. It is not a mystery or a thing not explainable that could justify your not being praised. Doing well wins praise. Doing contrarily demands correction. This ain't hatred but setting right!

PRAYER: I have capacity for good inside me. I exhibit same in all human endeavour. Let the Spirit of excellence that outruns multitude to win urges me on.

STRONGHOLDS ARE ANSWERABLE TO DECREES 

Nahum 3:12, KJV

"All thy strong holds shall be like fig trees with the firstripe figs: if they be shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater."

A stronghold is a place built to withstand attack. It is a refuge or fortress. In time of war, people run there. A cave can serve the purpose of a stronghold. Contradictorily, God's declaration speaks concerning the defence of Nineveh and how weak her stronghold will be - permeating the enemy. A stronghold which is meant to be a defence will now be one that rather will give way very easily to intruders. It will just be easy to break through it or into it. So, security will be compromised.

Like ripe fruits fall without much effort but by just a shaking of the tree, so does God declares ease of penetration into Nineveh. To be sincere with you, God's decrees can make difficult things easy. If you know what a stronghold is, you'll know it is always intentionally built to resist external aggressions. If it's a wall for instance that's built into a stronghold, the bricks will be thoroughly baked in the furnace and given the quality of seven times processing. Apart from that, it won't be like our normal nowadays fence in width. Like the wall of Jericho, it could be a wall that two vehicles could comfortably drive on - one going, one coming at the same time. That may be the width. Imagine a fence with the width of an express road. This made such hardly breakable. To break walls like this, Uzziah during his reign gave special attention to the building of engines and machines that shoot arrows from towers and at the same time haul stones. To break through such, one will need to haul persistently a specially made combo stone at a specific place until holes are made in there for soldiers to enter (II Chronicles 26:15 & Ezekiel 26:9). Defences are not easily broken even in sports because it's specially made to resist and withstand the opponent especially front line attackers. You can fight it but it is meant to tire you until you drop.

Why this in - too - to attention? Because it's a wall meant to serve as a protection, hiding place and a keeper at distance of offensive  launches. They call such walls bulwark. Imagine such a stronghold well built by the best of minds to keep lives and properties in the city safe now being made into ABC for its attackers at God's declaration. What's the thing that could be likened to a stronghold - which is not giving you a way to pass and penetrate in this life? May God make the decree of ease that will make what Satan calls stronghold open to you of its own accord.

Many times, men's minds don't know how to grab with difficulties. However, what they view as threat is settled before their arrival at the location of its encounter. For example, an angel rolled away the stone at the tomb's mouth for those caring and seeking women (Mark 16:3-4) which they had concerned themselves with. At their arrival, God has made difficult things easy for them.

That's the covenant of ease. Before you press, it opens. It's like getting to the ATM machine and withdrawing once from the same machine that didn't dispense for hundreds. When the covenant of ease taints your head, the key in your hands will have no work to do; your effort and strength will be saved and things will be happening for you by God's finger and supernatural power.

Brethren, Jesus makes difficult things easy. Come to Him today and tastes how strongholds can become a tree shaken once with an immediate release of all its fruits.

Today, you won't be denied entry. Access is given you. Receive an entrance and a penetration. No more bounce back but rather an opening even in the toughest of the toughest. For you to have your way, I see God betraying strongholds to you and making holes and loopholes in them for you.

PRAYER: Jesus, You make difficult things easy - give me the covenant of ease and peace. Let strongholds open to me even at my first attempt.

BECAUSE IT IS YOUR SEASON

Read Psalm 1

Psalms 1:3, KJV

"And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."

The righteous is like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth his fruit in his season. What your gaze must be fixed on is _"that brings forth his fruits in his season."_ Do you know some things won't just yield unless their seasons come. If you know this, you'll quickly be hastened as a Christian to discern and separate between what you can accrue any time, any day and what can only be received in its season.

There is a thing like " _the day, the time or the season_ ." If it is not the time for a leaf to fall off its branch, it won't fall unless you pluck it off. If it's not day for the sun to shine or night for the moon to peep out, you won't see either. Though they both wanted to be seen at the peak of their performances, yet they stick to the rule of their seasons. Season naturally calls you into manifestation even without your taking thought for it. That's why you have to pray that your season will come upon you. It is not age that determines season but the ordaining of God and how cooperative we are with God on our personal journey. Some by their own acts are delaying or postponing the ripening of their seasons though it has been afore fixed that they manifest or bring forth someday. Stop sinning, stop not putting preparation in place for the D-day.

If that tree bears fruits in its own season, the message is that you must bring forth at your season. It means some things must happen or be fulfilled upon you because of their time which has matured. You're not destined not to be productive. You carry in you the seed that gives birth. That place says, "he brings forth HIS FRUIT in his season." Did you see? Some fruits were allotted to him. That is, whether he likes it or not, he must bring forth something which is his. God has destined you too to bring forth. Unless seasons come for some things, no matter how you try, you can't force result. If at your season, you however are not productive, then there's an attack and a curse of the devil hindering that. I break it off you in Jesus name. What did the Bible say here?

Psalms 102:13, KJV

"Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come."

Why would God arise? ...because that fixed time has come. That's all. Nothing added and nothing removed. Singularly, that's the reason for God's coming through for Zion. Are you not Zion today? Your season has come. If it's your season for it to happen or be done, it means it can't be hindered because things must answer at their seasons. A law is there and an angel watches over your season to ensure that it is kept. You won't miss seasons! I pray for you, because your season has come, you'll be productive in your calling and career. You'll be favoured, sought after and things would happen for you faster and better than you've been labouring to make happen. Alas, the season has come upon you. Result can't be hindered again because the Law and the Lord of seasons are watching to perform to you in your season. 

PRAYER: Lord, help me by early discovery not to miss seasons. Restore to me any missed season/opportunities. Watch over my season with jealousy for accomplishment of purpose.
